Blurb: Rory Sullivan thinks he has it all, until his boyfriend breaks his heart and the new landlord raises the rent on his bar. A chance meeting with Jin Yue, a rich dragon, gives Rory hope. Jin promises Rory he can save the bar and get even with his ex – for a price.

All Rory has to do is pretend to be in a relationship with Jin. Rory’s bad boy nature and the desire for some no-strings-attached sex make the idea way too intriguing. Even if Rory’s brain thinks it’s a bad idea, his cock heartily disagrees.

Problem is, Jin Yue might be all kinds of hot, but he’s also Haven City’s one and only crime boss – sexy, powerful and deadly. Now Rory is tied to Jin until the dragon’s mission is complete, regardless of assassination attempts, hunters or the cops.

Jin Yue won the gang war, but the battle for Haven City isn’t over.

Enter Rory Sullivan – the tatted up fire mage who can help Jin lay claim to his rightful territory. However, things don’t turn out the way Jin plans. Rory pushes all the right buttons and riles up Jin’s dragon instincts. The fire mage is the farthest thing from Jin’s type, but the heat between them sets Jin’s blood on fire.

They’re playing a dangerous game that puts both of their hearts and lives on the line. While the passion between Jin and Rory sizzles, can a relationship built on deceit grow into something more?

Review: Each book in Haven City collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. It gives you an insight into their amazing world and their lives.

This is probably one of my favorite paranormal romance series around. It gives you a lot more expressions and thoughts that most do. Usually when you read a story, you can tell whether the author was truly in to the story or if they were just rushing to get it done. Now there were some problems with it but mainly in the proofreading part. Words that should not be there and a little bit of spelling, but other than that, it was amazing. I got a big kick out of Rory. He seems to have that extra bit of spunk in him.

Rory and his twin owned a bar, but they didn’t own the land that it was on. No that went to a new owner, one that was a total ass who got to raise the rent whenever he wanted. Not that he had met the man yet. He even took on a bit of extra work on the side to help pay for things. If he had not taken that job, he wouldn’t be in the mess he is in now. Nor would he have met his mate. A dragon that seemed to be hiding quite a bit, more power than one man should have and turned him on faster than any man should be allowed.

Yin wanted to use Rory to make Rory’s ex pissed off and drop his guard. He wanted the deed to the lands so he can build on it to make Haven better, but Rory’s ex wanted it for another reason, mainly greed. The problem was he started having feelings for the man. A powerful dragon such as he, is falling for a fire mage. Some might get a kick out of that. Now all he had to do is to keep them alive. It would seem someone has it in for them.

This was a blast to read. I got a kick out of it and cannot wait to read more from this amazing author. It gave me everything I could want in it, which included some very hot sex. I mean tantalizing, passionate, full of fire sex. It also gave me mages, dragon shifters, excitement, bribes, deaths, violence, lots of danger, deceit, and surprises. It gave me that and so much more. I loved this story and can’t wait to read the next book. It had captured my attention from the moment I started reading it and kept it all the way to the end.
