The Cellar

(Opposites 02.5)
by

It’s time to learn the truth about what happened that day in The Cellar.Taryn and Thanos are the formidable Ambassadors of House Orion. Taryn was born into power, bred from birth to lead the people of Greece along with his sister Theresa, Thanos was never a part of his mother’s plan. The son of a fisherman was not a suitable match for the son of Greece as far as their mother was concerned, but Taryn always takes what he wants.

The Cellar is the story of how these two men met and fell in love, and what lengths Taryn went to, to ensure he kept his man. This novella also contains a more detailed accounting of what happened the night Raven and Tanis went for a walk on the beach, and the adult version of Mistletoe and Mayhem that was initially released as a free short through goodreads.

The Cellar is the second novella in the Opposites series, the series should be read in order.

** Warning, Opposites is an Adult Dystopian majorly M/M series that contains explicit sexual content and relationships between gay, straight and lesbian couples. However, The Cellar is strictly a M/M novella **

Keeping the stories cohesive.

Hello Portia, Pixie and the crew, and thank you for hosting me today! It’s nice to be on the other side of the post for a change. I’m here to spread word about my new novella, The Cellar. In The Cellar, fans will get a more in depth look into the life and relationship of the father’s from House Orion, Taryn and Thanos.

While the novels in the Opposites series mainly focus on the younger generation, I have a great love for all my older male couplings as well. The idea to write novellas came to me when I was editing book 1, Opposites, and I had to pull a great scene between Cirian and Rian because it didn’t necessarily fit into that particular book. Once the editing was done and the dust settled, I actually had three scenes I’d either cut short or removed so I took those scenes and elaborated on them to create The Library, Cirian and Rian’s story.

The Cellar is a similar venture, taking scenes that were cut short from Appearances and elaborating on them, focusing on the relationship between the Greek dads. What I try to do with the novellas is make sure they are cohesive not only within the world of Opposites, but especially as a compliment to the book they follow. In Appearances, what happened that day in the cellar is only hinted at, and there is a scene on the beach between Raven and Tanis that was sort of a fade to black in the novel. I tie everything together not only with these extended scenes, but by using the same words and phrasing used in the novel.

I apologize for the occasional repetitiveness, but it is necessary for cohesion and flow. The other element of keeping things cohesive is my covers. For the novels which are always more involved and detailed, I focus on the couple that is the focus of that story and surround them with a visual aspect of what is surrounding them in the story. Opposites is Aiyan and Kaden, surrounded by water, much like House Gaeland. Appearances is Raven and Tanis with the image of Greece in the foreground. The colors are vibrant and full of energy, like the characters and the lives they lead. The novellas are done in black and white to give them and air of elegance and maturity, much like the men they represent.

I hope everyone enjoys this more intimate look into the lives of the formidable father’s of House Orion. And if you haven’t read my books yet, I hope that you will! Thank you P&P for hosting me today, much love ladies.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. This story has a selection of behind the scenes clips from Appearances.

The Cellar has us revisiting some scenes from Appearances from Taryn and Thanos viewpoint, we get to see first-hand how their own relationship came to light and the deep love that had them fighting to be together. We discover just what went on down on the moonlit beach between Raven and Tanis, and we see Aiyan and Kaden’s bad luck strike again as they decorate for Christmas.

This is a great little collection of interludes that give us a deeper understanding of Taryn and Thanos and their openness to their children’s love, we get some exceptional scenes of when they were younger from the moment they first set eyes on each other to their illicit meeting in the cellar. Raven and Tanis and their moonlit beach is a sexy moment in time for the two young men. And Aiyan and Kaden prove to us that not even a ladder is safe when they start to get passionate. We also get to see as the Houses deal with the immediate fallout of Marcus’ twisted plans, it isn’t involved or in depth but just gives us a brief glimpse of the type of behind the scenes action as they deal with the immediate decisions that must be made.

This selection of scenes aren’t as erotic as The Library collection but they certainly give them a run for their money. We have three sets of couples showing us in their passion just how much they love each other, and it brings the more distant Thanos and Taryn closer to us as we see the love they have for each other and their children.

I enjoyed this short collection, because not only do we have the sexy passion but we get the deeper feelings behind the passion. I loved seeing more about Taryn and Thanos, I’d been intrigued with the hints we’d been given in Appearances but to actually see the full story of their romance was wonderful, it also gives you insight over their easier acceptance of Maeve and Aiya’s arrangement. So a great taste of the characters from the Opposites series.

I’d recommend this to those who love the Opposites series, who love seeing couples show their passion and love, of discovering more about our favourite characters parents and who love an appetizer before the main course… yeah that’s a hint T.M. Smith, we want more!
