Ember is a drop-dead gorgeous Las Vegas escort. He notices Alejandro in some of the classes he teaches at his side business—a yoga studio. Then, color-blind Alejandro further captures Ember’s attention when he’s momentarily blinded by a quick change in light and needs Ember’s help at a club. What Ember doesn’t expect is the way Alejandro touches his heart.

Alejandro never intended to develop feelings for Ember. He’s in Las Vegas for a year to sow some wild oats. But Alejandro quickly sees more in Ember when he sets out to make some of Alejandro’s dreams come true—including a trip to the Grand Canyon and the beaches of LA. Alejandro’s wild oats could turn into something memorable.

Ember knows keeping his escort job from Alejandro isn’t the right thing to do, but he wants to be liked for who he is. Alejandro keeps his own secrets for the same reason. But Alejandro’s family obligations, along with Ember’s profession, could make it impossible for the two of them to stay together—unless they can figure out how to make the most of the gifts they’ve been given.

Review: Raymond Willow hides himself from the world. His alter
ego, Ember, is a high class escort on the Vegas strip and a Yoga instructor. While one job affords him the other, he’s still not entirely happy with his life. And then he meets his Prince Charming and everything changes.

Alejandro has escaped to Vegas for a year to decide what he wants to do with his life. He has responsibilities back home that he’s not looking forward to, but he realizes what he wants to do and what he must do are two entirely different things. He is the heir apparent in his country and his ailing father is dying. So while Alejandro has come to Vegas to have a moment to be true to himself, his mother is back home auditioning for the leading role in Alejandro’s life… a wife.

Ember and Alejandro are drawn to each other from the start, but both hold back because they fear the inevitable. Falling in love, which only leads to heartbreak. They both have responsibilities as well. While running a country is quite important, Ember has to take care of Jimmy, a runaway teen from his home town and perhaps, his little brother. Both being forced off the reservation much like Ember was, for being gay. But the heart wants what it wants, and these two hearts are joined together, regardless of Ember and Alejandro’s ridiculous attempts at not loving each other.

A modern day Prince and the Pauper, of sorts. While Ember isn’t poor by any means, he would still be undesirable for Alejandro because he is a man. I really enjoyed the way these two came together, connected and fell in love. Ember didn’t even realize it while he was doing it, but he was literally courting his Prince.

He took Alejandro every place imaginable to ensure his Prince experienced everything he wanted and more. From the Grand Canyon to the beach to the light show on the strip. I think I had as much fun riding along with these two as Alejandro did. And in return for his gift of exploration, Alejandro gave Ember acceptance, love and stability.

The Gift was sexy, passionate, and emotional and such a fun ride. There were a few highs and lows, and I had to wipe away a stray tear or two toward the end, but the story made smile and laugh as well. This is the sequel to The Price, but it stands on its own two feet quite well, so you could jump right in and not be lost.

Thank you for another fantastic, fun read Mr. Grey. You never cease to amaze me as I get to watch your imagination continue to evolve and churn out fresh new stories.
