Excerpt:
A delicious tension rose in Alex when Ricky stroked his face and curled a hand behind his neck. Suddenly, he felt dizzy and light headed, the tightening in his chest threatening to burst him wide open. His pulse hammered with anticipation. When Ricky pulled him down and their lips brushed, he nearly collapsed to the ground.
“What about these,” Ricky said, his voice low and seductive. “Are these pretty lips mine?”
“Yes,” Alex whispered. “Yes.”
Ricky’s hand trailed down Alex’s neck to his chest, his hand resting over Alex’s heart. “And this? Can I have this too?”
“Fu-uck,” he stuttered, reaching back to brace himself.
“Is that a no?”
“No,” Alex said. His skin dampened as his whole body trembled. “I mean, not a no. Jesus, I’m sweating.” His breath quickened, and he felt the edge of a panic attack. God, Ricky was going to be the death of him.
“Slow down, Alex,” Ricky said, his voice calm. “Just breathe.”
Alex took a deep breath, held it for a second, and then blew it out slowly.
Ricky wrapped his arms around Alex’s waist and kissed his neck. “Again.”
He took another deep breath and after a slow exhalation, Ricky’s lips drifted across his again. Alex leaned down, slanting his mouth into the kiss, melting against Ricky’s body as he opened for the delicious invasion. The heated stroke of his lover’s tongue inside his mouth felt electric. They didn’t usually kiss. Not like this. They didn’t do this kind of intimacy. They didn’t…

Review: This is book seven in the CockTails series and they should be read in order. This is also the second book for Alex and Ricky so you need to read book three in this series to learn more about them.
It is a fascinating story however I do wish it had been longer. I would have loved to have seen the reactions from Alex’s family and Ricky’s sister. I love the way it had been told. It has such a serious tone to it. They both have the fears but were more afraid to mention them to each other. Alex feared that Ricky would end what they had if he found out that he actually wanted more from him. Where as Ricky feared what his family would save if they found out he was gay.
When Ricky had been a child he had watched a man where they lived die from aids, and his mothers reaction was hateful. She was a really strong catholic who believed that two men who are together are an abomination and would get sick from it. He had always known from then how she would react if he told her, but hiding what he is turns out to be even worse. He wanted to tell his sister but feared her reaction also. He had never had a true relationship but Alex just captivated his attention.
Alex wanted Ricky, knew that Ricky would probably end what they have if he told him. Inviting him to meet the family might have been made on a whim, but it also might change their relationship. I thought that this story shows the truth in more ways then one. The fears that no one would accept them and the fear of what will happen if they don’t. They are both wanting each other now all they have to do is to get their heads out of their ass and tell each other what they are wanting.
It is told with such a way that it makes you feel like you are right there with them. It comes off as so real and believable. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. If you love sexy men, hot situations and sex, fears, excitement, surprises and a quirky family then this one would be for you. It would have been perfect had it been a bit longer with just a bit more details and description, however I loved it. I love the way their feelings just seem to shine from them but they are both idiots to not see it. They are perfect for each other even though they don’t realize it.
