To survive is to adapt…

Dale Michaels knows all about change. As he settles into his new life with the Tah’Narian starship captain Keyno Shou, Dale has adapted to life with an alien, space travel, and having his body mutated so he can carry a young. He’s closed the chapter on his old life.

Living on Tah’Nar, Dale has a loving mate and good friends. He’s helped cement peace with the Onfre. Sure, being double-dosed during his harvest led to some serious drama, but that’s over. Dale’s happy.

But life is never that simple.

Even though Dale loves Keyno, he still struggles with the way the Tah’Narians harvest young males as mates. Dale finds himself hijacked by his own body, courtesy of his extra dose of Tah’Narian DNA. Then there’s the devastating secret his mate, Keyno, has hid all this time. And if all that isn’t enough, outside forces threaten to rip Dale’s hard-won peace apart as well.

Join Dale for a non-stop adventure and a love that crosses several worlds and transcends space.

Excerpt

(The excerpt is from the beginning of estrus (or heat) for Dale.)

Keyno helped me into the flyer, handling me as if I was made of glass. But under the careful touches, I sensed his need to dominate me. He drove with a controlled aggression that had other flyers getting the hell out of the way and normally would’ve had me clutching the door handle. At any other time I would’ve been impressed with the way he weaved in and out of traffic, but right now I just wanted him to get us the hell home.

“Keyno….” I moaned, my body starting to shake again. That feeling was building.

“I know, love, I know. I can smell your arousal,” Keyno muttered. He gripped the flight controls of the flyer, his knuckles white. “We’re almost home.”

I knew by now this had affected him almost as badly as me, and I hoped we didn’t kill each other in our mad dash to the bedroom—if we even made it to the bedroom. The stronger my desire got, the more it affected Keyno.

About M.A.

M.A. Church is a true Southern belle who spent many years in the elementary education sector. Now she spends her days lost in fantasy worlds, arguing with hardheaded aliens on far-off planets, herding her numerous shifters, or trying to tempt her country boys away from their fishing poles. It’s a full time job, but hey, someone’s gotta do it!

When not writing, she’s exploring the latest M/M novel to hit the market, watching her beloved Steelers, or sitting glued to HGTV. That’s if she’s not on the back porch tending to the demanding wildlife around the pond in the backyard. The ducks are very outspoken. She’s married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two children.

She was a finalist in the Rainbow awards for 2013.

Blurb: Adapting is a word Dale Michaels has become familiar with. As he settles into his new life with the Tah’Narian starship captain Keyno, Dale has adapted to life with an alien, space travel, and having his body mutated so he can carry a young. He’s closed the chapter on his old life.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Dale has come to terms with everything that has happened to him since the Tah’Narian Kenyo swept into his life and changed everything he ever knew, he’s settled on his new world, accepted his mutated body and loves space travel, but then just when everything seems to be going great his body is hijacked by the raging Tah’Narian hormones! Dale and his friends all pitch in together as they introduce the Tah’Narian’s to human customs, they get ambushed by pirates and then they all face the biggest challenge of their lives.

This is a fantastic story that has lots of action and fun times *snort* to be had. Dale has finally come to terms with what has happened to him even though he still hates the way the Harvest is conducted, he’s blissfully happy with Keyno and has some great friends in John, Chad, Colt/Cielo, Jolak, Kia and their mates. Dale is again the main focus point for the story along with his mate Kenyo but we also see plenty of his friends joining in the story and between the action, danger and the characters own wonderful reactions this isn’t a story to miss.

The story continues on from when The Harvest: Taken ended, for those who haven’t read the first book then it is a must if you want to read this book because everything that happens in this book started in The Harvest: Taken. A brief overview is that the Tah’Narian’s needed males from other planets after a retaliation from another planet left them unable to conceive, so now other species males are mutated with Tah’Narian DNA so they can be taken as mates and have their children, Dale was taken during The Harvest on Earth and he wasn’t happy about it but soon came to love the alien, Kenyo, who had chosen him as his mate… there was also much excitement and adventure and that carries on over into this book.

I loved this story because not only did it continue on from The Harvest: Taken and developed the storyline, it also developed more intense friendships and relationships between all of the characters. We also get to see some danger, tempers flaring, hot sex, and there’s also some great humor as we watch the mates face pregnancy and birth. There’s not one thing that I can point to and say ‘that made this story brilliant’, it is a combination of everything that happens that had me reluctant to put this book down. Yes it has brilliant characters, it has excitement and a touch of danger, it has friendships being cultivated and expanded and it also has new friendships being forged but it also has issues that are put to rest, like the way the Harvest was carried out and the guys and their family’s left behind.

I recommend this to those who love science fiction, mpreg, fantastic characters, a great storyline, hot sex, sexy aliens and a fantastic ending.
