Blurb: Being the Silverbane pack’s omega is killing Josh. His plans to escape are foiled when he is blackmailed into finding a new alpha capable of controlling the largest pack in New England before the Amazons cull it. Josh has no clue how he is going to accomplish this task, let alone stay out of the sights of his power-hungry cousin, Bryce, who is convinced he is the pack’s next alpha.

Josh befriends Andrea, an erratic Amazon trainee, who talks to the ghost of her dead mother and has her own agenda when it comes to the wolf pack. When he is rescued by Gavin, a handsome park ranger driven to live in the furthest reaches of civilization, Josh feels a pull toward him that is more than just physical attraction. The three develop a bond that is stronger than friendship and tested at every turn.

With the help of his new family, Josh must find the strength within him to save the Silverbane pack and defeat the evil that threatens to turn them into killers. Only then can he finally be free.

Review: Nikko Lee is a new author for me and I have to tell you that I found this book absolutely enticing. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I was fascinated by the way their world just comes together. I wasn’t sure what to think at first and can tell you I would have smacked them around a bit.

Josh’s mother had been an Omega just as he was. He was forced by the Alpha to do what they wanted. All he wanted was to escape, no matter if it meant his death. His Alpha had abused his mother and he was born into a pack that was nasty as hell. Or at least that is the way it seems. Josh’s Alpha is Silverbane and is a bit fairer than most wolves. Now in most books that I have come across the strongest male is the Alpha, but you come across Alphas that are females. They are trying to keep the peace with the Amazons.

The way they treat Omegas is bewildering. With permission to leave, Josh sets out on his own. He wanted to find out who he was. Then their Alpha passed on, and left them without a leader. Josh’s bloodline came into existence and it was up to him to find their new Alpha. What a chore that would be. Here he was stuck in a family that he had not wanted ever.

Then the Beta was killed and the killer is close to home. The Shades are coming out. Most of the Amazons cannot see the Shades. So it is up to Josh’s friend Andrea to tell them. The need for an Alpha has led Josh to Gavin.

The problem with this book was it had no romance. There was very little sex, if any. The ending was a disappointment for me. Its story is deep and there is a lot of darkness to it that I didn’t care for. It started out great, but then the darkness came through. It wasn’t as bouncy as I expected. Other than my issues, the book altogether was damn good. It will give you a story that will draw you in that is for sure.

I would recommend it.
