Blurb: Since vowing celibacy over a decade ago, history professor and classic car aficionado Edwin Blais’s only comfort has been his dead partner’s cat, Francesca. When she gets lost, Edwin’s beside himself…until he meets the man who found her.

Cat-lover and mechanic Forrest James is a Roman sculpture brought to life, old enough to run a successful garage but not old enough to forget the secrets of a painful childhood.

Edwin’s lonely, and a straight man poses no threat to his vow. Soon he’s going to the garage every night after class. Forrest’s quiet friendship is healing Edwin’s broken heart until a night of mind-blowing sex changes everything. Edwin can’t deny his growing feelings, but a relationship between them seems impossible.

After Edwin uncovers the mysteries behind Forrest’s tough exterior, he’s forced to choose between a lost love and an unexpectedly tender new love who needs Edwin more than he ever could have guessed. Only by dealing with their tragic pasts can either forge a future. Will they find a way to do together what neither could do alone?

Review: This story will make you feel things that you normally hide deep down in your soul. It is so tender-hearted and will drag you in from the start. It is the first story of Clancy and Thursday’s that I have read and it makes me want to see what other books they have. The story is so believable and honest that it just makes you smile with the way it is told. It is as if you are in the room with them.

Edwin had been in a relationship for quite a long time, but he had not always been honest or faithful to the man. Then when his husband was killed, he devoted the rest of his life to being true to his husband. A man that he had hurt over and over during the years that they had been together. He had not even looked at another man in over eleven years. It was just him and his cat Francesca. It was the way he wanted it. That is until Francesca disappeared. If he lost his cat, the last thing of his husbands, then he no longer wanted to go along.

Forrest had found Francesca when he had gotten his truck home. She had somehow gotten in where the wheels were. She was dirty, but thanks to the posters, he knew exactly where to call. What he had not expected was her papa. He wanted this sexy professor more than anything in the world. He just did not think that he was worthy of this man. He had lived in a family where the stepfather had done every little thing to destroy him as a child. Also when he met up with his friend-with-benefit’s it also dragged him down further. He didn’t think he was worthy of a sexy little man like the professor. But boy did he want to. He knew he was falling in love with the professor.

The problem came when Edwin thought the whole entire time that Forrest was straight and interested in one of his students. Even after one night of what he thought was just pity sex, he didn’t know that Forrest was gay. That Forrest was into him as he found himself falling for this man. That is until Corey interrupts one of their dates, which Edwin did not know it was and tried to climb Forrest like a tree. He tried his hardest to tear them apart by saying that it was because he had told Forrest he did not want a relationship. Once he had seen Forrest with Edwin, he had to change his tune. However, it was too late. Forrest’s heart was hurt thinking that Edwin didn’t want him the way he thought. It was up to Edwin to make sure Forrest knew that he was what he wanted forever.

I loved this story. It gives you characters that you will fall in love with, cry with, and wish that you were there to help them along the way. It has two sexy men overcoming their past, the pain, and heartache they went through and see them making a future for themselves. I loved how it captured my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I would recommend reading this story. You will fall in love with it.
