Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

Josh has been hurt by witches before. He was tortured and watched as his best friend and first love was killed by a witch. So when he meets Carlos, a witch, he is not really all that happy to meet him. Things are made even worse when he realizes Carlos is his mate.

Carlos… is an ass in the beginning. He feels the mate bond but does his best to ignore it. He feels that his work is more important than meeting his mate. So he tries to go on about his job and not give in to the pull to Josh.

Both of these two men make big mistakes and they blow up in their faces. Josh is young and impulsive. Carlos is cold and tries to be unfeeling. But when they finally give in to each other they are pretty damn hot together.

At first I really did not like Carlos because of how he was treating Josh. Josh was also not really the best either. He had a really hard time keeping his cool and not exploding in anger. Towards the middle of the book they both grew on me and got better as characters.

Through it all is the discovery of more secrets being revealed about the dark and what the light thought may not be so true. Things are getting weirder for sure.

As a side note, I really noticed some editing issues on this one. There have been others in past books in the series, but not as noticeable as this book. This time some of them really pulled my attention for how obvious they were.

So aside from the editing lapses, the writing was good like I have come to expect from this author and the sex was decently spicy. It took a little before I liked the main characters but in the end I was satisfied with the way the book finished out.
