Blurb: Galen is next in line for the throne of the Earth Kingdom. With father ready to relinquish the throne, Galen must be mated. His father had already arranged a mate for him to meet and bond with. However, Galen has done his utmost to forget about said arranged mating until his father leaves him no choice but to fetch his mate home.

Finc is the illegitimate son of a noble and a low born woman. The half-brother to Galen’s arranged fiancé. Life had not been kind to him at all since his birth. However, with his mother, at least he had known love of the motherly kind, for a time, but all good things never lasted for long, especially in his case, and his only refuge against his reality was his writing and his best friend, Jory. That was, until the day he met Galen and knew deep in his bones that this was his fated mate.

Having his fated mate be his half-brother’s fiancé was so far off what he expected, but how would they ever have an acceptable bond when Finc’s biological father, as well as his step-family, were not willing to have the half-brothers trade places?

Review: Each book in the Beyond the Veil collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characers, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I have never really been a fan of books with the fae in them, or should I say where they are the main characters. Galen is to be the King of the Earth Kingdom, once his father steps down. He was to bond with someone of higher standing, but the moment he saw Finc well lets just say there are going to be some pissed off people.

Finc was the result of a highbred noble man and a very poor woman who was not like him. She showed Finc the love that a child needed, but his father took that life away from him. He was brought to the man’s home and now had a stepmother and half brother, neither really cared for him. He thought it would never change, that is until he saw his half-brothers intended mate. Sparks are sure to fly.

It is a tale that has been told over and over, just in different ways. There was nothing really unique to this story, other than the characters themselves. However it is a very entertaining tale that will have you smiling. I liked the touch of danger near the end of the story, but for me it was a fun little book. All in all, I hate to admit that this story really didn’t do anything for me. It didn’t catch my attention like it should have, but that is just my opinion for my desires of the book.

The characters however were the part that rocked. Their mixing was a bit strange, but I always liked Finc and Galen, and knew that they had a story to tell. I just wished it called to me a bit more then it did.
