Review: This is Book 3.5 of the Cloverleah Pack series and is based on the characters in Book 3 (When No Doesn’t Cut It). While it contains enough back-story to be read as a standalone, if you want to know more about the characters then please read the first three books. This story has a special ending to it. It has an extra little story for those who want to learn a bit more about Malacai and his mate. Reading the first three books also gives you an insight into their amazing world and the lives that these gorgeous men had. I can guarantee that you will fall in love with these men and want to hear more about them.

Damien is the Alpha of the biggest and strongest pack in the world. He would do everything in his power for his mate and that included taking him back to his home pack to visit everyone there including his old Alpha and parents. What he found when they arrived was hatred and bigotry. He realized by taking him home his mate was horribly hurt. His heart was breaking with the way his mother was.

Damien had known that Scott’s mother had not wanted to do anything with him or his brother when they came out gay. He had just not known the whole story. When bringing him back he had to explain heatedly that Scott was his true mate, which brought on more trouble. The only good thing out of it was Scott’s father and his best friend Elijah back with them.

Scott couldn’t believe the way his old pack was, but his mate proved to be the one that loved him the most. He was well-loved and protected. His friend Elijah needed all the help he could get. And from the looks Elijah was getting from Malacai, he was getting a mate.

Malacai had waited over eighty years for his true mate. When he realizes that Elijah was that he would do everything in his power to protect him and show him that he was wanted and loved. Although a man of that age still had a little misguidings, it would take the feisty attitude and temper from his mate to realize just what he had to give.

I loved this story and cannot wait to get my hands on the next story. It never fells to make my temper boil at hearing about what some so-called parents do to their own flesh and blood. The way Scott, his brother and Elijah were treated by their mothers makes me want to tear those so-called mothers apart. However, the love that their mates give them makes my heart swell and I cannot wait to read more about them. It captured my attention from the moment I started reading it and kept it all the way to the very end.

I would recommend reading this especially if you love sexy men, hot shifters, feisty mates, excitement, arrogant Alpha’s getting their butts kicked, mothers being told off, and danger. It gives you that and so much more. I loved this book more because it gave me an extra story to read. I loved Malacai and Elijah almost as much if not more than Damien and Scott. Scott had a difficult time with his old pack, but Elijah made my heart hurt with what he had gone through.

Lisa always writes stories that show what a true love feels like. She tells her stories with such heart and passion that I will continue to love her stories.
