Bound by Blood

(Cloverleah Pack spin off)
by

Lisa Oliver

Maximillian “Max” Lipovsky has been Regent of the Atlanta coven for the past six months. His days are full of meetings and paperwork as he does his best to straighten out the mess left during the disastrous reign of Vadim’s brother Ermine. With Vadim now happily living in Cloverleah with his mate Josh, it’s up to Max to keep his friend’s coven happy and safe. Easier said than done. When it is pointed out to him it’d been more than six months since he’d fed from a willing donor, Max decides a night out is exactly what’s needed.

Lyle Roberts is tired of being scared, tiny, and alone. But mostly he’s tired. When a tall, strong man with flashing red eyes stops him getting beaten up in an alley, he thought he might have found a momentary reprieve from his rotten life. Finding out the man was a vampire, something he’d only seen in movies, Lyle decides to take a chance and asks the man to remove his curse. Only, it turns out Lyle isn’t cursed after all – unless you consider having a workaholic mate as a curse.

Lyle’s arrival at the coven seems to have brought out the worst in people. As soon as one threat’s dealt with, another one rears its ugly head. With the Alpha of the Atlanta pack pushing for a meeting, and vampires turning rogue within the coven itself, Max has his hands full. The only problem is, with his hands full, he doesn’t have anything to hold his beloved with. Will Max and Lyle ever find their HEA or will the mating curse strike its cruelest blow of all?

Bound by Blood is a complete standalone spin off story from the Cloverleah pack. Regular Lisa Oliver readers will remember Max from Watching Out for Fangs (The Cloverleah series #7) but it’s not necessary to have read that book, to understand this one. Intimate situations and some violence means this book is suitable for adults only.

#MMPNR #MMRomance #MMTrueMates

Warnings: some violence including a scene of a man looking as though he was trying to hang himself, but as he’s a vampire, he would never die of it.

Review: This story can be read as a standalone however I would suggest reading the Cloverleah Pack collection first, as this story is a spinoff of that collection.

Lyle is a small white house cat shifter and has no clue how he was one. He always thought that he had been cursed. His step-father had considered him as an abomination and was going to go to hell. His mother never said a word against the man. He had been kicked out and only survived by food in the garbage or some good stranger giving him scraps. It wasn’t until a vampire found him that he learned the truth. Boy is he in for a shock.

Max has taken over the coven when his friend and leader left after mating a shifter. His damn coven was so far in the dark ages that I am surprised they knew how to write. He wanted to change it but never got around to it. Then finding his beloved in the middle of a cat fight, soon changes his mind.

Action packed, danger filled, idiot’s for coven members, hot sexy times and excitement are just a bit of what you get in this story. It definitely kept my attention from the start and I can guarantee that it will be read more than once. The characters were a blast and lets face it Lyle is my favorite. He is feisty and smarter than you would think at first. There a re a few surprises in this that will have you laughing.

I had a blast reading this and I do hope that there will be more stories involving this coven. It was funny as hell and I can’t wait to get my hands on Lisa Oliver’s next book.

Blurb: Thomas, paid enforcer in the Cloverleah Pack, was carrying a lot of guilt. He still believed he was to blame for letting Wesley get targeted by the dark elves, almost causing a rift in Cathair and Marius’s mating. The alpha Kane, told him it wasn’t his fault, and Cathair and Marius came through the experience battered but not broken, but Thomas still felt as though he had to prove his worth to himself and the pack. He spends many hours patrolling long after the rest of the pack had gone to bed, determined to do something worthwhile. It was on one of those patrol nights he hears a ruckus outside the territory wards. Dithering as to whether he should help or not, he gets the surprise of his life when his true mate falls right through the magic designed to keep everyone not pack, out.

Ivan was carrying secrets; the main one tucked up in his battered backpack. After a six month long mission to find the Cloverleah pack, he was as surprised as the next man when he fell onto pack grounds and into the arms of his true mate. Unfortunately, other pack members, still emotionally scarred by Wesley’s betrayal, didn’t view his “break in” quite so favorably and Ivan ends up in the Cloverleah cells.

Meanwhile, the dark elves are getting closer and more brazen in their efforts to ensnare the Cloverleah pack. Pack tensions are running high and something needs to be done and soon. Through it all, Thomas and Ivan have to navigate their mating and learn to trust in each other. Secrets will hit the light of day and life for the Cloverleah pack may never be the same. Review: Each book in the Cloverleah Pack collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Thomas is an amazing shifter who is still reeling over what had happened to Wesley. He felt guilt over not keeping an eye on the shifter, a guilt that was not his to feel. Wesley had been basically taken over by the dark elves, or so they think. When a strange shifter pops through the wards he realizes the young man is his mate, but the betrayal they still felt made the others worried over Ivan. Was he good or was he evil?

Ivan is a very special and very rare shifter. He will only shift after mating his mate not before then. However he is holding onto a very special secret of his own, he is not the only one of his kind. Lets just say Luke is going to be so very happy.

Exciting, fascinating, dangerous, and some sexy times are just a bit of what you get in this book. The characters are a blast and I absolutely loved Ivan. It would seem Ivan has a way that just might stop the dark elves, but it will take the whole group and more. This story is one of those books that will be read more than once. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end.

I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on the next story. This is one book I would definitely recommend reading. It will have you on the edge of your seat.

Review: Each book in the Cloverleah Pack collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Marius and one of his older brothers had basically lived a life of hell. His oldest brother had taken off and did well for himself, never knowing what he had left them behind in. Sixty years ago, he had killed their father, bring his little brothers with him. However abuse from a loved one never truly goes away, and Marius was still suffering from it. He is a strong wolf shifter and even though he desired and wanted a mate, he feared it also. Now that time has come.

Cathair is the Battle Lord for the elven realm. His father is the High Elder, ruler of their people, and Cat is his heir. He knew from the seer’s, that his mate was a offworlder, or on Earth as it is said. He just wished he would meet him. Their way of life is to marry and have as many strong kids as they can, then divorce when they find their mates. However for Cat, he did not want to do that. Sent to the Cloverleah Pac to help them fight what is coming, leads him to his mate. A mate that runs away.

With all the danger that is going on with the pack, these two are not having a very good mating. These two can talk to each other, but it like their communication is in a different language. Now the story is a strong story that will keep your attention the whole time. However it doesn’t seem to flow the way it should. It felt like quite a bit of the story was thrown in for word count, and should have been left out. It felt chunky I guess is the word. It doesn’t really take away from the story, but I did feel like putting the book down and taking a break, which is never good for me. Other than that, it is a really good story.

Other than my little problems with the book, I did enjoy reading it and look forward to the next story. Although I really didn’t like the part about Wesley, and hoped that it was just magic, and they can fix him. Guess we will have to see.

Blurb: Raff never wanted a lot out of life; his pack, his family and to be accepted for who he was. Yes, Red Wolves were smaller, skinnier and weaker than other shifters, but they were also extremely rare. Which is why, when he was banished from his home pack and family, he made a point of staying away from other wolves. But living rough, without any money, is really hard and when Raff risks a trip into San Antonio to find some cash work, he quickly wished he hadn’t. Although, thanks to his dog Killer, he did meet up with the Alpha Mate of the local pack. Maybe, just maybe his life would take a turn for the better.

Nereus was almost as old as the sea itself, but he made a point of visiting friends whenever he could. A chance visit to the wolf pack at San Antonio put him in the path of his mate, and Nereus grabbed the little man as quickly as he could. But Raff was new to the pack and when Scott and Madison get kidnapped and the men from Cloverleah zap into town, Nereus can’t help but wonder if Cloverleah might offer his new mate a safer place to live.

Back in Cloverleah, Teilo is pleased his brother is mated, but it’s not as though he has a chance to go and look for a mate himself. He’s settled in his home and loves to run in his wolf form. Although, when he gets bitten by a teacup poodle with the ridiculous name of Killer, he wonders what other surprises are going to jump out of the bushes at him. He didn’t expect to find two mates.

A crazy serial killer with no scent; danger for Raff at every turn and a landlocked beach? The men at Cloverleah are in for some pleasant and not so pleasant surprises. Throw in four dogs and the gorgeous bear cub and all of the men in Cloverleah are going to have to be on their toes.

Review:  Each book in the Cloverleah Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Lisa Oliver has been one of my favorite authors ever since she put out her first book.  There is just something about the worlds she creates that seem to drag you into the story and keep you there till the very end.  So when she comes out with a new story I am usually there to grab it.  Now I will admit I am not really a fan of threesomes but let’s just say this one might just be different.

Beware of the teacup poodle named Killer who just thinks he is the alpha of them all.  I got a kick out of the little terror.  Raff is a red wolf who has been kicked out of his pack.  Red wolves are smaller, weaker and very rare, but not appreciated at all. However when your broke, your broke.  So he goes to San Antonio to make some cash.  He just hadn’t expected Nereus.

Nereus has found his mate but even he is in for a surprise.  Nereus and Raff have a third mate.  He comes across Raff when he is visiting some old friends.  Damn the old fart just jumps the poor guy and things heat up real fast.  When a killer has his eye set on our sexy little red wolf, Nereus takes him to the Cloverleah pack to be safe.  To their surprises Teilo is there. Now Nereus’s father is Poseidon god of the sea and his other is Abraxas who is a horse shifter and well let’s just say you have to read the book for all of that.  So Poseidon has a wicked sense of humor and helps them get more into the mating sense of things.  Tramp stamps and wicked dreams are just a hint of what is to come.

Now normally I would go into a bit more to entice you into this book, but let’s face it I don’t need to tell you.  This story has some wicked danger, funny situations, crazy pups and some very hot sex.  That is just a bit of what you are given in this book.  I spent most of the time laughing my ass off with it.  I had a lot of fun reading this and can’t wait to read the next book.  It totally rocked my world.  Way to go Lisa Oliver.

Blurb: Tobias tells himself he’s having fun. He has a great life as a beta in the Cloverleah Pack, and while danger still threatens the pack, he has his friend’s wedding to look forward too, and the pleasures that come from hookups in random places. He’d like to meet his mate, just so he’s not the odd one out in the inner circle, but it’s not something he’s expecting anytime soon.

So when a hookup just before the wedding leaves Tobias with a permanent scar, he wonders where the heck his life went wrong. Especially when the man responsible for the wicked set of tooth marks, disappeared after the deed was done, to ring a man called Kurt.

Kurt and Luke have been mated for three years. As bear shifters, Kurt has known from puberty that he will two mates and once he’d claimed Luke, his mama warned him to be on the lookout for a human female. So when Luke rings him and lets him know he might have accidentally on purpose bitten a wolf shifter, from some town they’d never heard of, Kurt heads to Cloverleah to sort out the mess.

Sorting out their mating is just one of the things the three men have to contend with. A magic user has stepped up his game and nowhere on pack lands seems safe. When Tobias gets taken, Kurt and Luke are helpless to do anything about it.

It’s going to take the power of the pack before life will be safe again, for any of them.

Review: Each book in the Cloverleah Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. However it can be read as a standalone story.

There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. That is until a third is brought in. Luke and Kurt have been mated for three years but they knew that they were missing their third. Kurt had always assumed that their other mate was going to be a female so he was surprised when Luke called and said he had found their other mate.

A very male wolf mate.

Kurt and Luke were bear shifters. Luke has always been different, honest and very loyal he is easily hurt by others. He had trouble focusing on certain things but he loved deeply.

Tobias had one hot night in the bathroom with a hookup but left with a freaky ass scar on his neck. To his surprise he was now mated to two gorgeous bear shifters. Miscommunication leads to a bit of strife but Luke is the kind to go after what he wants even though he doesn’t understand what he wants. These three are going to heat up their world with passion.

My favorite out of all of them is Luke. He is so gentle but damn one he gets mad he is like a toddler on crack. He totally brings this mating into focus and damn it is hot. I love the added amount of feelings flowing around in this story. Also the danger and excitement in this story made it rock even more.

I love how the fact that it was not easy for them and that they had just a bit of a hiccup to their mating from the start. It makes it more interesting when that happens. This story rocked and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

I had fun with this and would definitely recommend it. And damn if I don’t want to go read it again.

Review: Each book in the Cloverleah Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. Now this was the perfect book. It gave me so much detail, attitude and heart. It had the perfect amount of sexual heat, desires, quirky attitudes, dangerous situations that made it what it is. I want to see more books like this. Not to mention you don’t get two sexy men but three.

This story gave me everything I could ask for in a story. I couldn’t seem to take my eyes off it the whole entire time. Each character gives you the best attitude for the story.

Jax was a wolf shifter and Fae. He had been banished from the Fae world by his grandfather, not even his mother stopped it. He hated everything about it, including the fact that his markings showed that he was to be mated to two Fae’s. He had known who his mates were when they had come across them some time before, but never said a word.

So when other paranormals showed up to catch the attention of Aelfric and Fafnir he knew he had to stop it. His wolf had been pushing him and now things were about to heat up.

Aelfric and Fafnir had been together for quite some time, but they never fully fulfilled their relationship knowing that they had a wolf shifter as a mate. Fafnir has always wanted the triad and had assumed that Aelfric wanted it just as bad. They had always been taught that wolves and other shifters were nothing more than pets, nasty animals.

So that was what they had thought to do at first, but when Dean saved them they saw different. The problem was Aelfric was a pain in the ass and still feared Jax. Enough so that he would hurt the wolf intentionally. It was going to be up to Fafnir to fix what they have done to their mate.

Then the Fae leaders had plans to get rid of Jax and Jax finds out that his banishment was his grandfather’s way of saving him. Times were changing and they all needed to change with it. With them and the other dangers coming at their pack, things were going crazy. Now if he could get his little blond mate to go along with being mated and to me I would think a good hard spanking would come in handy.

I would recommend reading this book, especially if you love shifters, Fae, vampires, hot sex, action packed plots and amazing storyline. There is something about the way that Lisa tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off at parts of it.

The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Lisa puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: This is part of the Cloverleah Pack series and I would suggest reading them in order. Although it can be read as a standalone.

I love the fact that this is a love story between two male wolf shifters. Talk about a major turn on. I love the fact that even though this is told more with a serious tone, it does have a hint of humor in it. There is nothing better than a touch of humor. If the story is too serious then I usually lose interest. And that did not happen with this one.

In fact, my attention was captivated from the first paragraph and kept all the way to the end.

Dean is an omega who was hurt badly by his old pack and alpha. Makes one want to hunt them down and slice them up for it. He is happy in the Cloverleah pack but there is something missing. He has friends, work, and his art but he doesn’t have a lover. He is not too sure what to think when his mate shows up. He is a bit scared but won’t back away when Matthew comes to him. He sees Matthew as a gentle and kind shifter, but when his mate is placed in danger Dean will do everything to protect him.

Matthew is a gorgeous wolf who is way over a hundred years old. He has been on his own for quite a while. He joins the Cloverleah pack so that he can be with his gorgeous little mate. He knows that he has to take his time and get him to trust him. There are many dangers coming for them, and a wacko ex pack mate that is just plain nuts. He knows that there is nothing he won’t do to protect his gorgeous little mate.

I love how this story gives you everything you could possibly want in a story. For me to truly love a story there must be a happily ever after part, dangerous situations, a bit of excitement, a tad bit of suspense and shifters. This is just a part of what I got from this amazing story. I love a good paranormal love story. I had been waiting for Dean’s story and can let you know I was happy with it.

Dean needs a tender heart mate that could love him and support him in all ways. Matthew was this man and I was happy that they got together. With all of the other books, I was pleased with the way they were told, but this one was probably my favorite out of all of them.

I love alphas and omegas, and when they get together, it just makes the story pop out to me. However, with Dean, he needed a softer touch, and Matthew comes off as not so much alpha, which was perfect. I am not so sure about why the need to bond so fast though. But for me it seems like all paranormal stories do that.

I would recommend reading this, and can actually see myself reading it more than once. It will give you everything you could ask for in a love story. Trust me you really need to check it out.

Review: This is Book 3.5 of the Cloverleah Pack series and is based on the characters in Book 3 (When No Doesn’t Cut It). While it contains enough back-story to be read as a standalone, if you want to know more about the characters then please read the first three books. This story has a special ending to it. It has an extra little story for those who want to learn a bit more about Malacai and his mate. Reading the first three books also gives you an insight into their amazing world and the lives that these gorgeous men had. I can guarantee that you will fall in love with these men and want to hear more about them.

Damien is the Alpha of the biggest and strongest pack in the world. He would do everything in his power for his mate and that included taking him back to his home pack to visit everyone there including his old Alpha and parents. What he found when they arrived was hatred and bigotry. He realized by taking him home his mate was horribly hurt. His heart was breaking with the way his mother was.

Damien had known that Scott’s mother had not wanted to do anything with him or his brother when they came out gay. He had just not known the whole story. When bringing him back he had to explain heatedly that Scott was his true mate, which brought on more trouble. The only good thing out of it was Scott’s father and his best friend Elijah back with them.

Scott couldn’t believe the way his old pack was, but his mate proved to be the one that loved him the most. He was well-loved and protected. His friend Elijah needed all the help he could get. And from the looks Elijah was getting from Malacai, he was getting a mate.

Malacai had waited over eighty years for his true mate. When he realizes that Elijah was that he would do everything in his power to protect him and show him that he was wanted and loved. Although a man of that age still had a little misguidings, it would take the feisty attitude and temper from his mate to realize just what he had to give.

I loved this story and cannot wait to get my hands on the next story. It never fells to make my temper boil at hearing about what some so-called parents do to their own flesh and blood. The way Scott, his brother and Elijah were treated by their mothers makes me want to tear those so-called mothers apart. However, the love that their mates give them makes my heart swell and I cannot wait to read more about them. It captured my attention from the moment I started reading it and kept it all the way to the very end.

I would recommend reading this especially if you love sexy men, hot shifters, feisty mates, excitement, arrogant Alpha’s getting their butts kicked, mothers being told off, and danger. It gives you that and so much more. I loved this book more because it gave me an extra story to read. I loved Malacai and Elijah almost as much if not more than Damien and Scott. Scott had a difficult time with his old pack, but Elijah made my heart hurt with what he had gone through.

Lisa always writes stories that show what a true love feels like. She tells her stories with such heart and passion that I will continue to love her stories.
