After the prison hound pursues Forrest with unfavorable intentions, Lawyer claims Forrest belongs to him. Soon, Lawyer realizes it’s only a matter of time before proof of their sexual involvement is required and he’s prepared to kick up the heat with an unforgettable hook up.

When witnesses come forward to prove their innocence, Forrest and Lawyer gain their much-needed second chance. But as they try to reconnect with their former lovers and move on with their lives, they discover leaving the past behind is virtually impossible when a life sentence is hanging over their heads—one wrought with love, affection, and more passion than either of them have ever experienced on the outside.

Review: Forrest and Lawyer have been best friends for years. While trying to save Forrest’s younger brother from the local gang, they both get busted in a drug raid. Sentenced to ten years they are sent to a maximum-security prison. On the bus ride there, the big man in prison rapes a young man who talked back to him. During the confrontation Forrest and Lawyer draw the attention of the and Lawyer claims Forrest is his. This leads to the two of them having to prove it.

OK, the good first. The sex scenes between Forrest and Lawyer are hot. The writing is fast paced and it good. I enjoyed some of the interaction between the MCs and other characters. There were some pretty funny scenes. I liked both Forrest’s brother and Lawyer’s ex-girlfriend.

OK, for the bad. This book left me seriously stopping to think about things that happened and if that was even possible. An inmate was able to rape another on the bus with the guards not even trying to stop it. What the hell.

That same inmate later is allowed to be in a control room with CCTV and watch the cell Lawyer and Forrest are in, and get a blowjob from a prison guard at the same time. Another what the hell moment for me. There are several other things that happened that just left me shaking my damn head.

Overall, this was a decent book if only because the sex was good and I liked the MCs and SCs. But really, when I have to think too much if something was even legitimate it kind of ruins the book for me. There was just too many of those in it for be completely enjoy this friends-to-lovers story.

Blurb: With a name like Manson, it was no great surprise when Manson Angola ended up in the pen. Some believed he’d been doomed for such a fate since birth. Others thought he was guilty as charged and still others believed he just downright deserved what he had coming to him.

What he had coming was shackles and chains, solitary confinement, and numerous attempts to make his life a living hell. Until one day, in walked a man who could’ve been the devil’s child, but in fact, had a more befitting name—Lucifer.

Dolled up in deception and as pretty as any man had a right to be, Lucifer—or Luke for short—stood about six-foot-two and weighed around two hundred and twenty-two pounds to be exact and he was as real to Manson as the guards who made a habit out of throwing him to the real wolves—the fellows who seemed to have a thing for a young fellow serving back-to-back life sentences for murders he didn’t commit.

Most men should’ve been afraid of someone like Manson. Then again, most men in the maximum-security prison knew why he’d been sentenced.

He belonged to Lucifer. And the other prisoners were just doing their jobs by breaking him in.

Review: This book confused me a great deal. I didn’t understand why Luke had Tiger and Sam break Manson in only to get mad the second time because they didn’t do what he asked. Then Luke visits Tiger in the infirmary and Tiger has a valid point that if Luke cared for Manson the way he claimed he wouldn’t have sent Tiger and Sam to break him in, he would’ve done it himself. Luke gets mad and asks if they raped Manson. To which Tiger replies, “it was forced seduction” Then, Luke claims he never told them to rape him and then kills Tiger.

Manson was innocent of the murders he was put in prison for. Luke wanted him there and let others continue to abuse Manson, which confused me. There was a lot of forced sex that thankfully didn’t go into details.

Although the book was well written I personally didn’t like it.
