Review: Seth and Evan are getting used to life with a newborn in addition to their responsibilities to the Agency. Seth even goes so far as to set up a support group for other abductees so they will have a safe environment to tell their stories. It’s at one of these meetings he meets Cooper, a man in a situation eerily similar to Seth’s.

Cooper met his partner Dr. Micah Levi at the hospital they both worked out. After a year of dating the decided to take a trip and stopped off at a campsite to… let’s just say have a little fun. Sound familiar? Cooper and Micah’s outing is very reminiscent to Seth and Evan’s, when they were abducted.

And now months later, Cooper has taken ill and continues to gain weight, even when he doesn’t eat. What’s worse is his lover has become emotionally and verbally abusive. Can Seth and Even help this couple figure out what has happened to them? To find their way back to each other?

This book as with the other books in the series is very descriptive about exactly what is taking place when the people are abducted. It’s horrific and a bit gruesome. My issue is the stories are disjointed, they don’t flow well.

And I am all for a conspiracy theory but I found it very hard to suspend belief while I was reading, the author didn’t sell me on the abduction and M-preg aspect of the story. The addition of Cooper and Micah while probably meant to collaborate what happened with Seth and Evan felt forced and I was having enough trouble staying interested in the original characters story.

I just didn’t care much for this book and I probably won’t read anymore in this series.

Sorry guys.

Review: Evan and Seth are settling into a more comfortable space with their relationship after a rocky start. But Seth has been sick, easily agitated, and moody as of late. To say they are shocked to learn Seth is pregnant is an understatement, now to just figure out exactly how this happened. A memory of what Seth thought was a dream brings the truth behind his pregnancy rushing back, right before he goes into labor.

I have to say I really enjoy the slightly twilight zone aspect to this series. Alien abductions, M-preg, things that go bump in the night. And this story was more cohesive than the first giving the reader a nauseating glimpse into Seth’s abduction and how he came to be with child. Very disturbing that the alien’s are described, in my mind at least, as the rabbit in Donnie Darco.

The descriptives in this story are vivid and as a said, disturbing, but the way Holbrand has tied everything together with the first story was intriguing. While I have some issues with M-preg, it is explained in a way that is marginally believable, in an X-files sort of way. Evan and Seth’s reaction and quick acceptance was a little unrealistic as well, even in this farfetched reality.

This was still just an okay read for me as was the first installment, but the flow of the story was more cohesive and the writing wasn’t all over the place. I am intrigued to see how this all comes together and where Evan and Seth will land when it’s all said and done. So I’ll be grabbing a copy of book 3 when it comes out.

Blurb: Evan ‘Zen’ Zenas is the top agent at The Agency and is known for his brusque demeanor. He’s also known to be tough on trainees. Those who find themselves under his tutelage usually don’t last long. When he’s assigned a new assistant, Seth Trivos, Zen’s faced with questions about his past he’s not too keen on answering.

Seth Trivos knew Evan once upon a time, loved him even, but when Evan disappeared, he unknowingly broke Seth’s heart. Now, he’s in Evan’s world as the newest recruit at The Agency, and he’s looking for answers.

Will Zen chase away another new assistant because he doesn’t want to open up about a past encounter or will being forced on a case together make him face the demons he’s been trying to hide from?

A May/December, male-male, erotic romance.

Review: Seth Trivos has been in love with Evan since he was a teenager. At the time, Evan was Seth’s uncle’s partner, but the two have long since broken up. Now Seth is poised to be the man who has filled his dreams and fantasies for years, new assistant at The Agency.

Even Zenas, Zen, is top of the food chain at The Agency. He chews up and spits out rookies, and the outcome for his newest assistant isn’t looking promising. But there is a familiarity in Seth that Zen recognizes immediately. It’s a little bit of a shock when Zen learns who Seth is, even more shocking that the young man holds a grudge against Zen for breaking his uncle’s heart, since that’s not exactly how things went down.

Working a case in the dark of night in some secluded woods, the attraction between these two is evident and a quick mating leaves Zen sated and sleeping, but Seth confused. His wet dream turned out to be slightly dry. Zen hadn’t planned on ever seeing the young, virile nephew of his ex again, much less kissing him and touching him, like he did many a night in his dreams. This current case stirs up memories of his past Zen would rather not face, and it left him exhausted and spent before the kissing even started. The question is, can he make it right in the light of day?

There was a lot going on in this naughty little novella. A lot of potential with alien abductions and the May to December romance between Seth and Evan, what’s the mysterious Agency really all about? Sadly, it came across as more of a jumbled mess than a steady flow of a story. I think had this been a longer novel with the opportunity to pursue and fully describe, delve into all the details within the story, this would have been a much better read. As it was, it was just okay for me.
