Blurb: With a summer storm threatening to ruin his Friday afternoon, Asa Burton packs his briefcase and bolts for home before the driving gets dangerous. On the interstate, stuck behind an accident, he regrets his decision until he sees Ford Weston standing along the side of the road talking to a police officer.

Ford Weston can’t believe his luck, bad and good. First his car gets clipped on the tail end of an accident, and than none other than Asa Burton pulls over and offers him a ride home. Coming face-to-face with the biggest regret of his life leaves Ford off-balance. He’d screwed up with Asa years ago. It was his fault the relationship ended.

Asa can’t believe he’s found Ford again, so why is he angry with himself? Could it be because Ford walked out on him without a word seventeen years ago and he did nothing to stop him?

Asa’s sure of only one thing—Fate just handed him the opportunity to win Ford back—and get some answers.

Review: This is a sweet and rather short story which, above all else, is about love persevering and two old flames reuniting.
Years earlier Ford left Asa heartbroken and had struggled to pick up the pieces after disappearing without a word. Now nearing 40, Ford and Asa meet up again and the attraction is sizzling between them and the sexual tension is palpable.

I really enjoyed the story. I’m finding it difficult to exactly name and describe what made me give this a 3.5. However, I just can’t work it out. As I said this was fun and enjoyable, it just did not dazzle me and pull me in. The only thing I can come up with is that I just couldn’t feel the emotion to connect to the guys. That and I don’t think I was quite convinced by Ford simply running off while he and Asa were first falling in love years before.

Nevertheless, this is well worth the read.

Review: This is part of the Amethyst Cove series by KC Kendricks and Christiane France. It is a standalone and to be honest, I want to go and get the other books now.

Although the reader gets a very adequate explanation as to the events of the previous book(s), I really need t read it for myself! If you look up Amethyst Cove series, what it actually is that KC Kendricks writes about PI Ian Coulter, while Christiane France writes about PI Greg Stewartson. Ian and Greg are actually in business together too, so he has a quick mention here in Ace Deuce Trey. This is also the third book to feature Ian… so maybe I have missed out a lot and would love him even more!

This is an intricate and complex plot. With a PI who has a FBI agent for a boyfriend, you know that there is going to be crime and mystery woven through the plot. Rick Mohr, Ian’s FBI agent boyfriend, is rather insecure, for good reason, of his relationship with Ian, but it lovely to see how his character begins to overcome his insecurities and jealousies for something, to someone who hasn’t read the previous books, didn’t seem like the fault of anyone in particular.

I loved seeing the development of their romantic relationship because even though they are together they really are at the beginning of their grand romance. These guys are good at what they do and extremely professional. It was good to that they were written that they could work and be serious together without things devolving into sex each time (not a fan of stories like that, clearly).

The two important minor characters in this are movie star, Saylor Blackwood – Ian’s client. As well as Ian’s assistant, Sheldon. Sheldon, or Shelly, is an absolute sweetheart. Androgynous appearance and young, he seems so innocent and enthusiastic in his passions and his work… and I just want to hug him, pity he’s a character and gay.

It is through the friendship with Ian and Sheldon that we also see just how much a fantastic and protective friend Ian is. Saylor, he’s an interesting kind of guy, he’s not really into the relationship-thing, but he seems kind and caring. However, Ian’s car also seems like a character in itself, a Barracuda.

This was hard not to enjoy. In fact, it was hard to put down at all. I found myself sneaking to my tablet to catch a few pages when I could. The mystery adds a bit of thrill and danger and the romance is sweet.

Review: This story is part of the Grease Monkey Inc. AmberPax Package. However, it does not come in paperback. This was heart-breaking story so tender and so full of pain and hope.

Mick had fallen in love with cars at a young age, but his first one that he fell in love with was a black 1969 Camaro Z28. He had taken its picture several years back, but for almost close to five years he hadn’t seen it. He had decided that he wanted to fix them and restore them to their natural state. Then one day out of the blue he hears this sound of an engine that needed work on. And there sat the car he dreamed about and the driver he wanted to get to know.

Logan had a really hard life since his parents had been killed in a train and auto accident. He had been injured and had been trying to cope. The problem was he had been hanging with friends when the FBI raided the place. Because he had his meds in his pocket, they arrested him for attempting to sell them. Serving time in prison, he had been released with an ankle monitor. Now he just wanted to survive. However, he noticed Mick and wanted to see where it would go, but he was terrified of getting hurt. He just didn’t know where to go with it.

You can’t help but fall in love with Mick and Logan. They both have so much going for them, even when Logan doesn’t realize it. The way Logan reacts makes Mick think that he just doesn’t want to talk about it. However, it comes to him that he needs to separate things so that he is not overwhelmed. Mick can see the pain in Logan’s eyes and just wants to love him. To show him that he is wanted and loved.

I am amazed at Logan’s abilities to try to overcome all of his experiences and pain. Most people would have given up but he kept going. I really liked this story and definitely will be checking out the other books that this author offers. I would definitely be recommending this story. It is a sweet little story that shows you that there are others out there who do go through what Logan went through.

Blurb: Sequel to the Amber Allure best-seller Between the Moon and the Deep Blue Sea…

Dale Langley longs for some triple R time—rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. He’s always loved being a rolling stone, traveling for his job without the worry of a place to call home, but it’s time for something different. Now Dale anticipates several blissful months to learn how to be still with no demands on his time while he prepares for the next phase of his life.

At least it seemed that way until Dale arrived and Aubrey realized sleep is the last thing he needs.

Review: This is a story about Dale that has been through a beating and robbery. He lost his job for taking off too much time recuperating.  He goes to Ocracoke Island where his family used to spend summers and is going to stay the winter with his cousin Sam to try to get his head cleared and perhaps find a new job and place to stay. There he meets Aubrey who used to live with older rich guys, basically as a kept man. He is leaving his ex and that leaves him with no job, no real skills and no home. He comes to Ocracoke to attend his friend Chad’s commitment ceremony and housesit while they are on their honeymoon.

I found this story well written, the characters all very interesting and the story hard to put down once I started. Well, I didn’t put it down, I finish in one sitting.  Both Aubrey and Dale are dealing with some heavy stuff. Aubrey keeps warning Dale not to get attached and Dale knows he shouldn’t or that Aubrey shouldn’t get attached to him, either.  The other characters were all interesting also, though not a lot was mention of them just in passing.  The first book is Chad and his partner’s story and since Chad and Aubrey are connected I am sure he is in that one, too.  This book stands perfectly on its own and I had no clue it was a sequel until the end when it told about the other book.  Of course I will be reading it too! Great story here and I can’t wait to see if there is more!

Recommendation: If you like stories of starting over, Rich men, men on the mend, hot mansex this one is really good!

It’s a good way to make friends, network, and help make a difference, not to mention perhaps meet someone interesting—in a romantic sort of way. Review: Shiloh is new in town. Despite having a group of good friends to pal around with, he is lonely. He’s ready to settle down and try his hand at a long-term relationship. Especially after meeting Gale, a local veterinarian he meets after finding and adopting a stray kitten.

Gale, who is in his mid-30s, has just recently come out of the closet after a painful divorce. He has never been with a man before, so he is hesitant to accept Shiloh’s advances. Their strong mutual attraction, however, cannot be denied.

These two have amazing chemistry both in and out of the bedroom. They are a perfect match. They adore each other, just as much as they adore the feisty little kitty cat that brought them together. I hesitate to call this story “adorable” (although it is) only because it was also very, very hot. K.C. Kendricks not only lets us peek inside the bedroom, she also lets us peek right under the covers to witness all of Gale’s firsts in what are some very steamy love scenes.

Once I started reading, I could not put this one down! Loved it!

Favorite quote: “If I had only known kittens can climb drapes, perch on top of a traverse rod, and then screech like some femme fatale in a low-budget horror flick to be rescued. That a kitten sounds like a herd of buffalo running on hardwood floors in the middle of the night. If I had only known a kitten’s claws can sink through a sheet into your balls while you’re jerking off. An old adage says, “Live and learn,” and I amassed an encyclopedic amount out cat wisdom in less than twenty-four hours.”

Blurb: Free-spirited Ian Coulter works hard and plays harder. An ex-cop turned private investigator; Ian enjoys meeting new men and making new friends. A night out ends up with one man on the floor at his feet, and another asking for his help. Big trouble’s brewing in little Amethyst Cove and Ian’s a step behind. He’s quick to see Rick Mohr is the man holding the flare at the end of a long, dark tunnel.

Undercover agent Rick Mohr walks a fine line, serving two masters. Insider trading, counterfeit printing plates, and a blown-up yacht have Rick stuck between two Federal agencies, one of which has been compromised. Rick has to discover the mole before it’s too late. When Ian Coulter walks into his life, Rick grabs the chance to salvage his assignment with both hands.

It doesn’t take Ian and Rick long to discover joining forces, and sharing resources, have definite perks, ones not found in any departmental manual…

Review: Ian is looking for a hook-up when he runs into Rick who isn’t all he seems to be.  Rick needs help and he turns to Ian for that help.  If there are a few perks, well…it’s all ggoooodd.

This book was really good.  It’s got a touch of romance and a ‘what could be’ feel to it. I really liked Ian and Rick.   Neither man was looking for anything serious and they were both upfront about it.  But they also liked each other as people and not just as a quick hook up.  There was also a feeling that if they had met at a different time then they could have easily loved each other.

The mystery is good and they worked well as a team and you get drawn into Ian’s past and you want to know more about it. This is a well written story that has a strong plot and although this is from Ian’s POV you don’t feel like it’s just all about him… I mean we learn a lot about Rick and in the end you truly do want things to work out for him, even if he doesn’t stay with Ian. The sex scenes are hot and there is a spark between them that you know could turn into an inferno if they fed it.

I recommend this to those that love hot men, hot sex, mystery, a good storyline and if not a HEA then it still leaves you with a warm feeling.
