Not only is this a great book but the cover is awesome as well.

I am going to keep the rundown short as the blurb above captures the story nicely. Basically Cody’s agent got him a gig on a hit TV an acapella show. His group is him and four other friends of his. Cody only does one night stands and does what he has to do to keep a roof over his head. If that means a blowjob with a producer then so be it.

Lucas is out as gay, but his school has an abstinence contract. Lucas believes sex should only be between married couples be they gay or straight. His group doesn’t last long but a twist puts him in Cody’s group.

I can safely say I loved this story, thought I haven’t read one of Anna Beth’s I haven’t fell in love with.

Cody and Luca’s characters were very unique and complimented each other so well. The story line reminded me a bit of a fanfiction for TV program and was like reading the show instead of watching, but I found that quite fun. There is a lot of camaraderie, fun flirting, tears, and some pretty hot sex scenes.

You may think this is a predictable romance, I picked it up figuring it was but sometimes I need to know what I am getting. There were a couple twists and some things didn’t turn out like I thought they would. It is a great story with a happy ending and a little bait for the next book which I can’t wait for

If you are looking for the perfect summer read on a hot day. Grab this, curl up under the air conditioning with a cool glass of your favorite beverage and enjoy a sweet, sexy romance.

If you like new adult, coming of age, acapella music, and a sweet and sexy romance I highly recommend this!

Aerin’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4.5 Hearts

I love it when an author gets better and better, and Mrs. Albert definitely does. This is a bit different from her previous MM books, but I liked it a lot! I can honestly say Treble Maker is my favorite book written by her to date.

The plot of this story is a talent/musical/acapella competition which seemed real and was entertaining, while not taking the focus away from the romance between Lucas and Cody. Lucas and Cody start off as “enemies” of some sort, both members of different acapella groups. They are as different from each other as night is from day.

Cody is everything virginal, wholesome, innocent Lucas isn’t: a promiscuous man, with a rock star Goth sex appeal, sure of himself and set to reach his ultimate goal. I really liked the differences between them, and I especially loved the bad boy corrupts the innocent virgin theme.

Both main characters are complex and interesting, and we certainly get to know them both very well. Their romance felt real to me, nothing was overdone, and Lucas’s family drama was well written without making it seem trashy. The secondary characters are also complex, not to mention different.

We have the petty drama and cattiness a competition like this brings forward. There’s some backstabbing and betrayal that inadvertently makes an appearance in situations like this. But everything rang true and it didn’t overshadow the plot. I liked and got annoyed by many of the secondary characters, and mostly I found things to love and get mad over within the same characters.

One thing I really liked was the sex between Lucas and Cody. It was hot, intense and the connection between them was always there. I think the fact that Lucas was a virgin and all his sexual experiences with Cody were new to him, made the sex scenes even more intense. The HEA put a big sappy smile on my face and it felt very satisfying.

I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next. I’d definitely love to read Trevor’s story.

Boy Goes to Wonderland…

After six months of hot-and-heavy dating, Alex is ready to say goodbye to the sex-drugs-and-dance-till-dawn lifestyle and settle down with the love of his life, Steven. He even bought an engagement ring. But when Steven finds an illicit party favor in Alex’s pocket, the powder hits the fan. Steven breaks it off, and Alex heads out to drown his sorrows—in Wonderland…

The hottest, hippest nightclub in town, Wonderland is where every boy’s dreams come true. Where the DJ, Hatter, spins the maddest tracks, the Caterpillar sells the trippiest drugs, and the Queen of Hearts sends every drag diva off with her head. Still, Alex can’t stop thinking about Steven—even while being seduced by a pair of twinks who are tweedlehot and tweedlehotter.

Things only get weirder when Alex learns that Steven is missing—and an anonymous phone call warns him that he’ll never see Steven again…unless he eats this, drinks that, and dives deeper down the rabbit hole of decadence. This certainly isn’t just another weekend—in Wonderland…

Review: Welcome to Wonderland, the hottest nightclub in town where booze, drugs, sex, and sweaty, sexy men are wall to wall in abundance. Alex swore to himself and to his boyfriend Steven that he would stop indulging in all the not so hidden treasures of Wonderland. But staying on the straight and narrow isn’t as easy as it seems, especially when being bad is as simple as a trip across the dance floor, being fondled by the hip gyrating twins, then winding up at Caterpillars table for a taste.

After Steven finds Alex’s stash in his pants pockets, he breaks things off. Alex retreats back to Wonderland and winds up cracked out of his mind, waking up in the twin’s bed the next morning. What’s worse is when he goes to Steven’s house to try to make things right, Steven isn’t there, he is missing.

The events that take place after Alex’s night of debauchery are both mind-blowing and fanatical. In a race against time to save Steven from the psycho that has kidnapped him and is playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Alex and their friends, Alex takes a mind-blowing trip down the rabbit hole into the secretive depths of Wonderland.

I loved how Browatzke took the bones of the classic Wonderland story, mangling and twisting the plot into his own twisted tale of sex, drugs, mystery, and intrigue. From the night club to the bathhouse and everything in between, Alex has to dig deep to decipher the clues he is given if he is going to bring Steven back home.

There were a few twists and turns that left me dizzy though, and a couple of times the flow from one aspect of the story to the next was jumpy or broken, which put a damper on the overall feel of the story. But the almost psychedelic feel of this book really kept me engrossed and entertained throughout.

If you, like me, are inexplicably drawn to anything and everything Alice in Wonderland-esque, then this is a must read for you. While I had a few issues with characters and plots within the story, overall I am impressed with the Authors ability to spin a tale, and intrigued with this world he has created. I cannot wait until May when the next book, Mirrorball, releases.

I am certain that Alex and Steven are going to learn that happy ever after is not always what it seems. Especially in Wonderland!

Blurb:  Robert Westfall’s life is falling apart—everywhere but in math class. That’s the one place where problems always have a solution. But in the world beyond high school, his father is terminally ill, his mother is squabbling with his interfering aunts, his boyfriend is unsupportive, and the career path that’s been planned for him feels less appealing by the day.

Robert’s math teacher, Andrew McNelin, watches his best student floundering, concerned but wary of crossing the line between professional and personal. Gradually, Andrew becomes Robert’s friend, then his confidante. As the year progresses, their relationship—in school and out of it—deepens and changes. And as hard as he tries to resist, Andrew knows that he and Robert are edging into territory that holds incalculable risks for both of them.

J.H. Trumble, author of the acclaimed Don’t Let Me Go, explores a controversial subject with extraordinary sensitivity and grace, creating a deeply human and honest story of love, longing, and unexpected connection.

Review:  Andrew McNelin is a high school teacher. He is still quite young, only 24, a father of a two-year-old, and gay. Yes, he is gay, but he and his wife have a workable relationship.

Robert Westfall’s father has been ill for a long time and is now terminal. Robert is dealing with being a high school senior, a so-called boyfriend, and how the illness has affected him and his family.

This story deals with how each man deals with his own life struggles, and how their lives cross.

This is such a poignant, well-written story of how unfair life can be, and how people struggle with love, death, and life in general.

I fell deeply in love with both characters, and cheered and cried through the entire story. I can’t think of a thing I didn’t like, and unlike most stories I didn’t want to smack any of the characters. Well, only the two main characters. I’d like to have smacked all of Robert’s family on his father’s side, and a couple of the student’s on both men’s sides.

I highly recommend this to anyone that likes a longer story with well-written, believable characters, strife, the struggle to find and keep love, and just an all-around good story!
