Review: This is the third book in the Leader Murders series.

Bert, Weiss’ Beta is tasked to be the fey ambassador and find out about the MH project to determine exactly what it is and who all is involved. Bert seemed to have trouble getting close to people considering what his sister did. He assumed everyone else thought he was a traitor as well.

There he meets sexy Sir William Matthew Sims, Court Interrogator and a very powerful man. I was not sure about Will at first as he seemed to have no emotions and ulterior motives for his actions. But as the story progressed I glimpsed small looks into his personality which was out of character for his heritage. He cared deeply for his children unlike many of the fey and wanted them safe at all costs.

The way the fey went about choosing the next king was horrifying. I could not believe what transpired. It took my breath away that a paranormal group that deemed themselves superior to others would be so barbaric to own kids.

I really enjoyed the fact that despite Bert keeping Will at arm’s length emotionally will did not give up. The whole mystery aspect of the story and the subsequent details and thought process that went into it was amazing. This story had me riveted in my seat until the very end.

Well written with the right amount of romance, suspense, action and action that keeps the reader intrigued. A lot of twists and turns as well as intense scenes that leave you holding your breath.

Great read.

Blurb: Five dead leaders, their bodies arranged in a pentagram. Treason, lies, and backstabbing. A make-believe affair that turns into a real mating.

Timothy Sands is a PBI counselor, half-fey, half-elf, with a secret crush on Herman Weiss, PBI director. As a new chapter is added to the Leader Murders, it is Weiss’s responsibility to investigate what seems an impossible-to-solve case. The other problem? Weiss is suffering from rages, and his only salvation lies in Tim’s emotional-grid-balancing skills. They only have to pretend to be a couple for Tim to use his talents, and he owes Weiss a big favor. Piece of cake, right?

The fey might be involved in the Leader Murders. Someone on the Council might be their ally, and another prominent PBI figure looks more and more suspicious as they investigate. The stakes are upped when Timothy’s father, the Fey King, threatens to leave the Council destitute if they don’t hand Timothy over to him. Weiss’s brilliant solution? Mating Timothy and forcing the Council into protecting him.

There’s only one small hitch in that plan: instead of protecting one, the Council might decide to get rid of two.

Review: I suggest people read book 1 in this series before reading book 2 as certain things are explained better in book 1 and that are glanced over in book 2.

With that being said I really enjoyed this story but felt it lacking in details about the investigation. Weiss, Alpha wolf who has a temper and seems out of control at times, and Tim, half fey and half elf, is a PBA counselor and has a secret crush on Weiss.

I really liked the chemistry between Weiss and Tim once Tim gets closer instead of admiring Weiss from a distance as he had been doing for years. Of course, there is tension at times, but that was to be expected. Saving Weiss from being terminated in pretending to be his lover was no hardship for Tom.

The dialogue throughout the book was well written and draws the reader in to find out what happens. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this second book in the series and hope there will be more.

Good and intriguing read.
