Review: Thayne is the captain of an exploratory vessel and is on the mission of his life, he has to find out just how far the Purge, a plague like virus, has traveled and lead the mission to find the cure. Thayne discovers a savant holds the answers and the Royal families release him to Thayne’s care, and Thayne discovers more than just a gifted man who is able to save their worlds, he discovers a man who he can love. Arohn is a Beacon, a connection to the Gods (the Wyrms); he has been kept in suspended animation for hundreds of years only to be used as a last resort with his connection to the Gods. Arohn is lonely and his connection to Thayne gives him hope of more than being just a Beacon. But with the fate of worlds in his hands, Arohn must make the biggest sacrifice of his life.

This is a great science fiction story of an alien race racing to find a cure and resorting to desperate means to save their worlds. Thayne is a man who has the weight of his people on his shoulders as the Purge is spreading turning them into mindless infected craving living flesh. Arohn is a man who was taught that he is a direct connection to the Wyrms and his duty is to his people. These two men come together in desperate times and fall in love. But, the duty they both face could tear them apart. With love and understanding between the two of them, they might wish their future was different but with Arohn being the Beacon, he is destined for the cryo-chambers when the danger has passed.

Well, I will have to explain that while I call the characters men they are male aliens, they are described well and I really should have paid more attention to the cover then the horns wouldn’t have been a surprise LOL. Thayne and Arohn make a wonderful sweet couple but even we can’t hold out much hope for a happily ever after when their people have a habit of sticking the gifted in cryo-chambers only to be pulled out as needed. Both men grab what happiness they can though and we get a very pleasant ending with the help of the Wyrms.

This story is wonderfully written with excitement and action in just the right places, we get good descriptions of the worlds and what everyone is facing and we also get the full impact of Aaron’s lonely existence. While their attraction is instant and Arohn wants to embrace, his freedom with companionship we see Thayne’s struggle as he balances what he wants with his duty to his people, there is much stress put on both characters and you really do hope it all comes out right in the end. The interesting twist of the Wyrm’s and the background of the Purge will have me looking for the next book.

I recommend this to those who love science fiction, sexy aliens finding love, a great storyline which is left open, hot sex, action and excitement and a great ending for two great characters.

Review: This story is part of a series and is best read in order. Sivney is a vampire with a rough past; he has spent many years alone. He spends most of his time working for the Garden and upholding the laws. Kyrien has lived for many years knowing that he was chosen for a vampire, he has waited for that vampire to come to him knowing the man is his mate, his Anima Coeunt. When the two vampires meet they struggle to connect, but Sivney discovers he might have bigger worries on his hands when Newborn vampires start to turn up feeding indiscriminately. As Sivney and Kyrien begin their relationship, they discover that their pasts may be connected to the murders.

This is quite a good storyline that starts out strong but quickly falters. Sivney lost his beloved many years ago, since then he has lived alone focusing on working. Kyrien was approached and changed because of his connection to Sivney’s beloved, but he has been kept off the radar until Sivney is ready for love again. Sivney isn’t sure how to react when he first meets Kyrien but decides to give Kyrien a chance. When the appearance of Newborns around Kyrien’s club has The Garden leading an investigation, Sivney knows Kyrien isn’t involved. As their relationship heats up a ghost from the past emerges and Sivney is horrified.

Although I found the storyline good and that the relationship between Sivney and Kyrien is hot and very involved, I found the back-story very hard to get a grip of. Early on, we are told how much Sivnay loved Johann and that Johann was Sivney’s Anima Coeunt but later when Kyrien is brought into the picture we are told that Sivney may have been mistaken but it all smacks of convenience. The mystery of where the Newborns come from and their purpose is quite good, but the culprits are again convenient.

There are some very good bits in this story as we learn about the various vampires and their roles, the relationship between Sivney, Kyrien is hot, and their connection is instant. We get a lot of information about The Garden and its history that bogs the story down in places but it is still a pretty good story.

I will recommend this to those that love paranormal connections and stories and history that go back centuries, discovering a new love, plenty of hot sex, a good storyline and danger emerging.

Review: Abraxas has been haunted in his dreams by a demon. A demon that is everything that Abraxas has ever wanted and when he is killed and sent to the underworld Svel (the demon he dreams of) is the one he turns to. Svel has been plagued by a human for weeks in his sleep and now that human’s soul has washed up on the shores of Amaia, in the underworld. The connection between them is strong and the Fates play their hand, but do Svel and Abraxas have the strength and love to face their future together and survive?

This is an incredibly imaginative novella that is vivid in its descriptions and passionate in its loving. Abraxas is a warrior and faces the underworld like any warrior would, head held high and fear hidden deep. he accepts the hand that is dealt to him and the new opportunity that is pointed his way. Meeting the demon that has haunted his dreams eases him some and him and his demon fall in love, but an enemy comes out of the shadows and Svel and Abraxas have to face the Fates. But, the enemy refuses to play by the rules and Abraxas soul hangs in the balance.

Okay, before we go any further, I want to give you a warning that if you haven’t a strong stomach then read with caution because some of the descriptions are vivid and disgusting and that is just the Titan’s (four overlords of the underworld). Leontii Holender has given us a vivid look at the underworld, with incredible descriptions, a great storyline and a hectic journey. We are given a full picture of the surroundings and pitfalls that Abraxas and Svel face and it is a miracle that they managed to fall in love and stay together with everything that is chucked at them.

Abraxas and Svel face danger to be together and to stop an enemy from destroying Svel. They both risk everything to love the other and they are both willing to give up everything for the other. When these two are together, you could cut the air with a knife because of the attraction and wan, they are very passionate and erotic and yes, there is an element of D/s and slight BDSM, but it is a demon thing. The sex is hot, erotic and passionate but there are elements of love and they need that love for what is to come.

So, this story has a lot going for it, demons, Titans, a perilous journey across the underworld, incredible descriptions, a demon and human soul falling in love, the Fate’s, the demon Queen, an enemy bent on destruction, hot sex and an ending that is great. So, really what are you waiting for?

The prince isn’t exactly what he appears to be, and Maithe can’t decide if he should trust the intoxicating devil or run the other way as fast as he possibly can.

Review: Okay, so I have never heard of this author before and I have looked to see if they have published anything else, but I couldn’t find anything… which really surprised me, as the quality of writing was brilliant

Maithe is a Halfling, part demon/part human, he has been trained for years to serve humans, but he has no intention of giving up his freedom… until he meets Astle. Astle has set his sights on having Maithe as his and Maithe doesn’t put up too much of a fight, until someone comes after Astle and then all bets are off.

This is an incredibly detailed, slightly enthralling novella that is rich in world building and is a joy to read. Maithe is malicious, holds humans in contempt and sneers at those who want to become bound to a human, and he has no intention of becoming bound and dreams of freedom. Astle is a prince of Rausol and wants Maithe.  He sets out to master him, but the choice is forced when Astle is attacked and Maithe must come to his rescue, which leads to events that just might break them all.

This book was great, right from the start. We are introduced to the life on Terra in vivid detail as a guard is riding through the streets, she comes upon a beggar telling a story and she stays to listen, and this is where we are told the story of Terra, Gods, humans and demons, and how the Halflings came to be. This story was woven brilliantly; it is full of detail throughout, so you can picture in your mind the actions as the story unfolds. The characters are wonderful and are fleshed out quite well, but Maithe is the main focus as it’s mainly from his POV, I would have liked to have gotten inside Astle’s head as well but I can’t complain.

This book has quite a lot of sensuality to it, even when there is no sex it lingers in the background, teasing our senses, and lulling us into feeling secure about what to expect from the sex and then bam!! We have an explosion of passion that is more like a frenzy, as they both clash together, biting, kissing and sucking and trying to take what they want.

The storyline is great, the action brilliant and yes some danger as well. There is a surprise as well for Maithe that he learns about his lover during an intimate moment. So all in all an enjoyable book that I will recommend to those who love fantasy, hot explosive sex, danger, unexpected surprises and a happy ending.
