Blurb: Michael and Justin have both been hurt in the past, but when these two solitary, lonely werewolves find each other, they must decide if they’re willing to risk everything for love. Lynn Tyler presents Michael’s Heart, Book 4 of her paranormal romance series, Pack Mates.

Michael Ferris lives a solitary life, even as a werewolf within the confines of the Smooth Rock Falls pack. Not willing to risk getting hurt again, he’s built an impenetrable wall around his heart that only a few had even a chance of chipping away at. His job as a firefighter helps to keep his mind off his solitude for a while, but when he meets the right guy, Michael doesn’t know if he can let him in.

Justin Blake isn’t lonely by choice. In fact, he’s not even aware of just how lonely he is until he lays eyes on the handsome firefighter. As the shifter negotiator, Justin finds himself hopelessly drawn to Michael while helping to ease new shifters onto pack lands.

Can two hurting, lost souls heal each other, or will fear keep them apart even as the Smooth Rock Falls pack grows larger?

Review: Michael Ferris is content living his life as a fire fighter and a member of the Smooth Rock Falls pack. Recently though, more of his pack mates are meeting their mates, including his best friend since birth, Grayson. Michael feels the loneliness and continues to occupy his time with work, the pack and his friends. As much as he wants something more, he has an overwhelming fear of being hurt by anyone he loves. So he ignores his attraction to the sexy pack Lawyer Justin. Avoiding the man at all cost.

Justin stays very busy as a successful attorney, the pack lawyer and the shifter negotiator. But he to feels the loneliness on the rare occasion he allows himself to think about being alone. From that first moment he ran into the large, in charge Fire fighter, literally ran into Michael, and spilled his coffee down Michael’s shirt, he’s been smittin. And the spark only grows stronger when they finally shake hands and Justin feels the familiar tingle of electricity that is a sign to any shifter that they have found their mate.

Michael fights him tooth and nail. Michael’s wolf recognizes that the lawyer shifter is his mate and makes it difficult, and Michael going to Justin when the lust builds to take the edge off, then fleeing as soon as his mind clears is only making matters worse. Justin has fallen head over heels in love with his large, sexy fire fighter wolf. But he doesn’t want to be hurt either, and every time Michael pulls away, it tears him apart. Can Michael sift through all the pain and anger he holds inside over what his parents did to him, and find a way to let Justin in? Or will Justin tire of the back and forth yo-yoing that Michael is putting him through and give up the man entirely?

I am absolutely enamoured with the characters that I fell in love with in book one. And throughout this current story, Tyler has set herself up for several new couplings in future instalments. This time around, we not only have the Smooth Rock Falls pack but also they are welcoming several Tiger shifters who wish to have as much protection as possible for their Tiger Omega. And since the pack has been successful in keeping their own Omega, Quinn the alphas mate, protected the Tiger counsel sends Pierce to the pack for added protection. This doesn’t go without incident that was not fully explored, so perhaps that will be the core of the next book. Especially since Tyler briefly shows an attraction to Pierce from one of his most loyal bodyguards.

Several things start their course in this book that didn’t reach their final destination, so we have a ton of potential for this series going forward. I highly recommend you read these books, but start with the first one because all of the pack members are prominent characters throughout each book, so you’ll need to start at the beginning to have the whole picture!

Ah, the life of a rock star. Everyone thinks it’s nothing but sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

Not for Giovanni Savale.

For the lead singer of Three Deaf Mice, a band that reached its pinnacle in the late nineties, it’s nothing but an ugly divorce with a custody battle, money trouble, and now the nightmare exposure of starring in a reality television show. When his producer decides to cash in on an infamous interview Gio did years ago, and give the self-confessed bisexual rocker an onscreen boyfriend, things really hit the fan. Gio is certain his sexual experimentation back in his drug-abusing days meant nothing — after all he’s been married for nine years, clean and sober for nearly as long, and he has a son. And Gio is not remotely attracted to Kyrie, the funny, flamboyant actor they choose for his love interest. Of course, Lance Garrett, the mysterious and sexy owner of the local antique shop, Double Takes, is a whole different story. The guy has Gio planning out a future he never imagined. With the threat of losing all custody of his ten-year-old son, ghosts from the past returning for revenge, and the cameras rolling, can Gio keep his head above water and his heart from getting broken?

Review:  This is the third book in a series that I highly recommend you read in order to fully appreciate the storyline and the various characters.

Grayson Mitchell (Gray) is a wolf shifter, ER nurse, and unexpected new father. His sister and brother-in-law were killed in an accident leaving him the primary care giver for his three young nieces. Declan and Quinn, Gray’s alpha and the alphas mate, are really pitching in and helping as much as they can, as well as the other members of the Smooth Rock Falls pack. But there is only so much they can do and Gray soon realizes he’s going to need some help.

Shannon Cho is perfectly happy on his own. As a Tiger shifter, it’s in his nature to be a loner. He was forced out of his pride because of his strength, although it was all for not, because Shannon doesn’t want to lead anyone. He just wants to care for children, it’s what he loves, and he’s good at it. He answers Gray’s ad for a nanny and is hired pretty much on the spot, with Declan’s approval of course.

The attraction is immediate and mutual, but neither Gray nor Shannon wants to cross that line at the start. Chemistry can only be denied for so long and soon the overwhelming pull they feel to one another wins. They settle into a comfortable relationship and they both fight to urge to claim the other as their mate. A dinner with the other pack members one night proves to everyone just how powerful Shannon truly is when he perceives Gray to be in danger.

But there is more still. All the while Gray, Shannon and the girls are adjusting to a new lifestyle and the pack is getting accustomed to the new Tiger in their midst; an old enemy is dancing in the shadows. Declan puts the pack on lock down when they find evidence that Shannon and the girls are in danger. When their enemy puts Gray’s life in danger, said enemy better watch out, because he now has a four hundred pound tiger on his ass!

I do love this series, I’ve become completely invested in all the shifters from the Smooth Rock Falls pack, and this newest installment did not disappoint! Action, suspense, sticky sex, intrigue, and waffles were just floating off the pages. The interactions between the characters as the pack faced a threat to one of their own and quickly went into protection mode. And then Gray, Shannon and the girls getting to know one another and becoming a strong family unit somewhere along the way. It was all woven together seamlessly and the writing flowed consistently from start to finish. I devoured this book in one setting.

If you are a fan of strong alpha males, gay shifters, steamy romance and some intense action then the Pack Mates series is a must read.

Blurb: If you love someone, set him free. If he steals something of yours, hunt him down and make him sorry.

Alex Bremen is over Chance Ralan. Ever since his high school boyfriend ditched him nine years ago, Alex has barely thought of Chance at all. Sure, Alex attended a concert or two when his ex’s band, Armageddon Showdown, was in the area, but that was more curiosity than anything else. Who wouldn’t want to see firsthand how his once clean-cut boyfriend transformed into a pierced and tattooed heavy metal god?

But when Chance has the nerve to record a love song Alex wrote for him years ago, Alex crosses the country to confront him. Revenge becomes a dish best served sizzling hot. The two men lock horns, but find the chemistry between them has only intensified with time, and occasionally love needs to do some growing up before it can be done right.

Review: Alex was madly in love with his high school boyfriend until Chance chose music over love and deserted him when he needed him most, now he barely thinks about Chance, but when he hears the song, he wrote for Chance all those years ago on the radio he decides it is time to get his revenge. Alex crosses the country to film a documentary about Chance’s band ‘Armageddon Showdown’ and to make Chance squirm, after all no one knows the heavy metal gods secret gay past or that he never wrote the song. The two men lock horns and the chemistry between them still burns strong and although the love is there, is it strong enough this time around to compete with the music career?

This is a great story where revenge turns to love and choices are scary. Alex carried on with his life when Chance turned his back on him, he is doing great in his career and he can have any man he wants and he put Chance far behind him… until he heard his song on the radio and all credit being given to Chance. Alex acts fast to get his revenge on the closeted singer, but his feelings aren’t as far in the past as he hoped. Chance didn’t want to record the song but his manager forced him to, now he is facing his ex, Alex, the only man he has ever loved, the one he threw away for a music career and he has no clue how to handle the man. Chance can’t resist the sexy man but how can he love another man and still have a heavy metal music career? Will Chance take a chance on love with Alex or can he live without love as long as he has his music?

Both Alex and Chance are great characters who make this story slightly edgy. Chance denies his sexuality but is miserable and drinks too much, his music is all he really has, and now because of his manager he has his ex on his tail determined to make him even more miserable. Alex soon realizes that he doesn’t want revenge, but getting what he does want might be even harder when Chance still hides behind the music. Both men want something strong but Chance’s fear drives him, but as they get closer again and Alex is determined to give Chance the time he needs they fall foul of a jealous man. This really is a great story, you can see what hiding his sexuality has done to Chance and although he tries to deny it Alex never stopped loving Chance.

I recommend this to those who love getting back at an ex, an explosive ‘outing’, hot sex, passionate secrets, lingering love, a bitter rival and an amazing ending.

Blurb: Sean Tisman lives in fear of his father’s prejudice. When he’s stationed in Banff he’s determined to live life on his terms. When he meets his counterpart, Sean’s world is thrown into further upheaval.

Luke Marshall is a man licking his wounds. After a bad break with his ex, he’s relieved to be given his old post; that is until he meets the man of his dreams in the young game warden assigned to Banff. Can their love survive the secrets and danger that lie in wait for them?

Product Link: http://www.lsbooks.com/real-good-man-p756.php

Review: Luke has just come out of a relationship that’s left him uneasy and distrusting. Finding your partner in your house, in your bed with another man can be your undoing. Now, he goes back to work determined to get past those feeling and never to let himself get in such position again. But, one look at his new partner and his brain melts.

Sean escapes his family’s controlling attitude by choosing to work deep in the National Park. He thinks his father’s bigotry won’t get him over there. Coming to terms with his sexuality and trying baby steps in his new life, he never saw it coming. The desire and lust he felt the moment he laid eyes on Luke knocked the breath out of him.

Both men circle around one another, frustration and arousal growing until they both snap and… the relief when they find out that both are gay, both attracted to each other and the only thing they have to do is act on it. But, things are not so easy in life and there are shadows lurking in the corners. Someone out there is up to no good and their life might be in serious danger.

Sounds good doesn’t it? Yeah, that’s what I thought too. But things didn’t go the way I expected. This book was very hard to read.

Let’s start with characters. I have no idea why they fell in love with each other. I get the lust part, both are described as hot. Luke being a mature man, sexy as hell, the classic well fit body that makes your mouth water, etc. etc. And Sean, of course, has his appeal, what with his incredibly fit body and green eyes. Add there the allure of being a virgin and hell, who wouldn’t fall in lust with him. But, beyond that I have no idea who these men were, or how they fell for each other so completely. They had no quality time that I can recall of, they had no conversations as co-worker/friends that would indicate an appreciation toward each other, and they had no flirt going on between them.

At the beginning they had fantasies (very detailed ones) about each other and then the frustration part hit where each guy said something with the other answering with an off topic answer, the dialogue not making sense at all, and in the blink of an eye both have declared how they feel. The strange thing is, up until the end of the book, I don’t think I saw them having a simple talk, you know, a conversation. It was all assuming in their head and ranting when they exploded for pretty much everything. Always running in circles and issues that ran in their heads, very, very frustrating to read.

The story between them continues in the same vague way it started. The fantasies are replaced with “real” sex and they keep thinking they love each other, kept saying so too, still with no event happening between them to indicated the how’s and the why’s… The only reasoning was that Luke loves gorgeous, sweet, bird-lover Sean, and Sean loves the hunk, hot, straightforward Luke… What I got from both of them were insecurities to hell and beyond from Sean and knee-jerk reactions from Luke. That’s it.

Their love-making sessions are not even worth mentioning for me, beside the fact that they kept circling round and round. The author would start same way as always, keep the tension up and when you thought it was ending, it would slow down and the other character would take over to do the exact same thing all over again. Once I think a scene must have started and reached near end to start over again about three times. Not my idea of fun. I’m not even going to go on the pair’s first time/Sean’s first time too, at all. I won’t touch that subject. But a little heads up on revision, you need to keep track of what you write because when you mention the use of condom and then sperm is sprawled over your character’s body then something went amiss there. And should I mention that those two guys seemed to have forgotten their job once they got together? It was odd; it was as if they were on vacation and occasionally reporting a fire that a plane took care of. I don’t know, perhaps their job was indeed that easy.

Going on with the action plot I’m afraid this was the worse one I’ve yet read. The villains (yes there were too many bad guys here) were ridiculous. Sean’s father was beyond the realm of imagination, the dialogues between them made me want to weep and Sean’s behavior in relation with his father was non-comprehensible. We never found out what was this community they lived in, or why Sean allowed this man so much. The abuse he suffered as a child understandably marred him, still an adult Sean allowing all that was beyond comprehension. Don’t know. We never understood what the deal with the electrical fence was either; we never understood why on earth Sean kept answering the phone and how a simple farmer could be such a great menace… I am definitely NOT going to comment on Sean’s mother. That left my jaw hanging for more than I care to admit.

As for Luke and his chaos of a life, well I don’t know, ex-partners can be terrifying at times, especially when you’ve found them cheating on you and they have no ground to demand you take them back, but still expecting a man to go on putting a park on fire over and over again because he wants you back is a bit too much.

No, nothing in this plot had solidity. There was no structure there, no path to follow, only random bits and pieces and a hell of a lot melodramatic scenes that were meant to tug at your heart, but utterly failed to do so.

Review:  Short, Sexy, and Steamy… my three favorite colors! Blend that with an Archangel guilty of the sin of Vanity and that makes this a must read story!

God and Archangel have come to the conclusion that fellow AA Gabriel needs to be taught a lesson. Although successful on his missions with the humans, he is quite vain and taken on the attitude that humans are worthless and beneath him. Having been expelled from Heaven until he learns the error of his ways and makes a human fall in love with him, he has concluded that he will be stuck on earth forever. Enter Dr. Josh. Gabriel is instantly attracted to the charismatic doctor and decides he has found his target. He’ll make this eager young man fall in love with him, give up his life, and earn his way back into heaven.

Becoming emotionally and physically attached to Josh wasn’t in the game plan. Even if I did see the ending of this book coming a mile away, the ride there was such fun! As the story progresses and Gabriel grows a conscious you are drawn into this unconventional love story. Tyler wraps it in down to earth issues and struggles and conveys Gabriel’s inexperience with actual feelings magnificently.

Gabriel is presented as perfection, but it is only skin deep. His struggle with the absolutely foreign concept of feelings was the best part of this book for me. Jealously, love, anger, attraction and pure need are not feelings he’s used to, and to see him progress through these different stages of his relationship with Josh are liken to watching a newborn growing up in fast forward.

So, when we come toward the end and Gabriel finally gets what he thinks he wanted all along, is it truly what he wants?

Be warned… there is some extremely hot and definitely steamy M/M… Angel/Human sex gracing the pages of this short story. I give this one 4/5.

Review:  Declan has come home to take over as alpha of his pack. His father is stepping down to join the council. The last thing he expected to find when he arrived was skittish shifter, Quinn, sleeping on the floor in his parents’ living room. Quinn has taken sanctuary within Declan’s pack at the urging of the council, after suffering mentally and physically at the hands of his former Alpha for being gay and a submissive wolf. Declan is immediately, intensely and insanely protective of Quinn and these two fall in love almost as fast as they fall into bed!

Boy meets Boy and they live happily ever after, nope! Someone from Quinn’s former pack threatens to destroy not only Declan and Quinn’s newfound love, but also the entire pack. Add to that the unease that has settled over the pack where Quinn is concerned and the fact that his Alpha/Mate is keeping secrets from him and the plot thickens.

What I liked most about this story was the aspect of touch, Declan talks about it several times throughout the story. These wolves thrive on touch; they hug, shake hands, have lots of hot sex (bonus!), and once Quinn is exposed to this he thrive as well. With his former pack, Quinn was neglected and abused, only touched as a negative and he withered, never able to shift. With his newfound pack, he flourishes, as touch becomes a positive. Not to mention being claimed by the Alpha! As short as this book was, there was still some great character interaction and plot development. I didn’t like that Declan was being secretive, but Tyler made up for it by letting his beta tell him just how asinine he was being.

If you like gay romance, sexy alpha male shifters and a little bit of mystery and intrigue, this is definitely a book for you. Book 2, Micah’s Refuge, is out June 24th. Stay tuned for my review on the next installment in this series, I will tell you that it does not disappoint!!

Review: I really wanted to like this book.  I love cowboys and the enemies become lover’s trope so this sounded good to me. It didn’t however come with a rape warning and it absolutely should have. There was on page and off page rape, so if that’s not something you can stomach to read about I’d skip this one because there is a lot.  Honestly, I read slave books and love a good hooker story but this was way beyond my comfort zone. I need something to balance out the awful or at least leave me feeling the journey was worth the pain. Sadly I didn’t feel that way about this book.

Creed’s life hasn’t been good one since his mom died when he was eleven. His father was a rodeo rider and an addict and neglected his fatherly duties while dragging Creed around the country.  Creed loves horses. He has a natural connection with them and becomes a star the rodeo circuit riding them. His father however takes his money and he’s forced to sell his body for food from the age of twelve. He’s ashamed but somehow comes to terms with the fact he’s got nothing but his horse and rodeo because what else does a whore deserve? He’s a survivor and hides away the pain. He doesn’t feel capable of love but that all changes after he’s forced into house arrest with a man who proves every time sees Creed he hates him by starting fight.

Eli hasn’t had the easiest life either.  His family is killed in a car wreck and his uncle takes over his care. He’s a truly despicable man. I will say that I thoroughly hated him.  He beats Eli often and Creed showing him up in the ring just fuels his uncle’s fire. Eli can’t seem to control his temper when Creed walks into the room even though he’s never actually done anything. The guys quickly realize all that hate was a masquerade for lust and give into the lust. Is it just lust and taking advantage of the opportunity for good sex or is it more? Can Creed feel love or will he bail when he’s released from house arrest?

The forced cohabitation could have been an enjoyable read if not for the, what felt like, constant abuse flashbacks. I have a hard time falling in love with the guys if I’m pulled out of the love fest   and into a nightmare. Initially I thought I’d like Creed the most because his story is so incredibly sad but I enjoyed Eli’s willingness to love and hope. My stomach actually hurt throughout the book and I couldn’t get into the sexy scenes because my mind was still whirling around one of the abuse scenes. My suggestion is if you think the blurb sounds interesting and are okay with the rape warning, check with a friend who has read it and see if it’s something they think you would like.  In the end this was way too much for me and I wished I’d been warned.

Warning: Hermaphroditism (dual sex).  This book is part of a series and must be read in order.

Review: Heartstrings is a very fitting title for this book as it will definitely be pulling at yours. Ashrian (Ash) and Eiren (Ren) have a very tenuous relationship. Ren is committed to Ash, but Ash still lives the high life and enjoys his flirtations. But, one day Ash goes too far and Ren doesn’t think he will ever forgive him and accepts a position that he had been toying with taking. When Ren returns he brings back a new love and dashes Ash’s hope of regaining his love, but circumstances change over the years and a spark returns between Ren and Ash.

This story runs parallel to the other stories in this series and as always we see a wonderful selection of characters that we have fallen in love with in the past. In this story, we have heartbreak, cheating, betrayal, remorse, redemption and forgiveness. Ren and Ash have had a very up and down relationship for many years and Ren has always put up with Ash’s unfaithfulness, but one night Ash sleeps with the wrong person and Ren has had enough. When Ren is gone, Ash realizes exactly what Ren really meant to him. But, by the time Ren comes back, Ren has moved on and there is nothing that Ash can do about it.

As always in a relationship there is always more than one point of view and to make a relationship work there has to be communication, and with Ren and Ash there is a distinct lack of communication. *sigh* When I started to read this one I really wanted to hate Ash, but the further I got into the book the more I began to sympathize with him.  because Ren never put his foot down, Ren never really pulled him about anything and just walked around like a martyr with a ‘woe is me, my man cheats on me and I do nothing about it’ attitude. I will be honest all my sympathy went to Ash and I think that Ash and Firyon (I won’t spoil it) were great characters and Ren came into his own much later when he also faced his own faults.

This story is again beautifully written. We are given more world building with fantastic characters. Eressë drags us back into the world of Ylandre, giving us more knowledge about characters we have met in the past. Filling us in with the stories of others and tearing our heartstrings as we become involved with the beloved characters. Ren and Ash’s story with shock you, it will disgust you, it will make you tear up, it will get you angry and it will fill you with forgiveness and happiness but it will never be boring.

I am recommending this to all those who love m-preg, misunderstandings, frustration, despair, angst, forgiveness, happiness, growing relationships and growing people but most of all a happy ever after that is well deserved.

Blurb: A chance meeting heralds the convergence of two heretofore wildly divergent fates.

From the moment he laid eyes on the handsome Lord of Ilmaren, Naeth Orosse fell head over heels in infatuation with him. And after that first meeting in the middle of a tavern brawl in the dual-gendered realm of Ylandre, Reijir Arthanna did not forget the orphaned youth who came to his aid unasked. When fate brings them together anew, Reijir becomes Naeth’s guardian, which proves both blessing and bane when their mutual attraction is guilelessly nursed by one and distrustfully downplayed by the other.

Between attempting to ignore Naeth’s artless overtures and suppressing feelings he had long disavowed, Reijir has his hands full. But more than a title and duty were forced on this enigmatic cousin of Ylandre’s king. A less than benevolent past has left its imprint on Reijir who is as known for his cynical outlook on life as he is for his exotic features and proficiency between the sheets. Convincing him to risk his heart in love is a battle more experienced Deira than Naeth have waged and invariably lost.

Warning: Hermaphroditism (dual sex).  This book is part of a series and must be read in order.

Review: Oh yes… Eressë you beauty, you have produced yet another incredible story. Reijir is wary of trusting anyone but when Naeth sweeps into his life Reijir’s family and friends notice the difference straight away. Naeth’s life fell apart when his family was killed in a fire, helping a friend of his father out; he ends up meeting Reijir who turns his world upside down.

YES! YES! YES! Ylandre is back and is just as interesting as always. All the world building was done in the first book Scared Fate along with the history and the explanations as to why and how it’s an all-male world. This book is well written and plunges you right back into the world of Ylandre. In this one we find out more about Reijir and Naeth and the development and difficulties of their relationship.

Reijir is the Herun of Ilmaren (there is a glossary in the back of the book) and was once badly burned in love and has now built a wall around his heart, when he takes Naeth in as his ward he begins to thaw but it isn’t until it is nearly too late before he admits it to himself. Naeth falls rapidly for Reijir but it is years before he can act on it and even then he still doesn’t know if Reijir feels anything for him but lust.

I loved this story as it has conflict, love, despair, intrigue, danger, lust, hidden secrets and misunderstandings. The story is well crafted and the plot well-developed, we meet the characters from the previous books and those books run parallel to this book, all the characters are well-developed and well-rounded and the sex is off the charts scorching hot.

I will recommend this to those who love fantasy, science-fiction-ish type stories, hot sex, m-preg and a very happy ever after.
