Blurb: After spending the first part of his life chasing pretty girls, love has finally come to Ryan in the form of John, a tall, lanky, red-headed landscape architect with wide shoulders and a five-o’clock shadow.

For the first time in his life, love feels easy. Hell, he even ran into a burning building for John and his son, and he’d do it again if he had to. But telling his father and brothers “I’m gay. I’ve met a man”? That’s a bumpy ride he’s not looking forward to.

For John, loving Ryan is as natural as breathing. Now if only the rest of his life would fall into place. Dealing with his teen son is complicated enough, but with his ex-wife causing trouble and his daughter wanting to move in, John’s house—and his relationship with Ryan—threaten to split at the seams.

Would one month without a new surprise knocking him upside the heart be asking too much? If the sound of Fate’s laughter is any indication, the answer must be yes…

Review: This story gives you more of a taste of Ryan and John. They have finally realized that they were in love. Strange for two straight men but for these two it is perfect. Although with life nothing is easy but one must always strive for more. I received books one and two, and started reading book one when I realized that I had read it once before when it first came out.

It was when I was beginning to get into m/m romance stories and realized that I loved them more. However after reading book one yesterday I realized that it hit me even more now. I had such a great time reading about the guys once more. Then I started reading this story and even though I did want to smack the guys around and definitely John’s ex-wife, it was amazing.

Ryan is in love with John and is having a bit of difficulties with the idea of telling his family. Whereas John blurted it out to everyone. Things were looking up, even though John’s ex-wife is a total bitch especially to Ryan. Now on top of that they have John’s son living with them and his daughter wanting to. His ex’s new husband is a total dick who is so full of hate that if he fell off the planet no one would miss him. Here he is threatening to take Mark back home and Cynthia is no better. However when his ex needs help, who does she run back to. Yes you got it back to John.

Ryan seems to be put on the back burner when Cynthia and the kids come live with them. She is very pregnant and wants John back. John is at her beck and call, it just pisses a person off. The whole time Ryan’s family is not so happy with Ryan suddenly being gay and in love. It is going to take some time to get them all where they need to be. John realizes how Ryan feels, but he doesn’t know how to make him see that he is still the one he loves.

This story was just as good as the first book, if not even better. I would have loved to give it more than five stars. It has hot sex, feisty teenagers, gorgeous men, danger, and so much damn temptation that it has you begging for more. It gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. I couldn’t put the book down once I started reading it. I even stayed up past my bed time to read about these two.

It has been some time since I have read one of Kaje’s books and I have to say that I am not disappointed. I loved it and look forward to reading more by this amazing author.

I would recommend reading this book.

Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts
Blurb: Losing nearly everything leaves room for the one thing they can’t live without.

A few excruciating minutes pinned in a burning building cost Ryan Ward his job as a firefighter, the easy camaraderie of his coworkers, his girlfriend, and damn near cost him his left leg. Giving up, though, isn’t an option. Compared to the alternative, choosing a new profession, going back to school and renting a room from the college groundskeeper are simple.

Until he realizes he’s falling in love with his housemate, and things take a turn for the complicated.

John Barrett knows about loss. After moving twice to stay in touch with his kids, he could only watch as his ex-wife whisked them away to California. Offering Ryan a room seems better than rattling around the empty house, but as casual friendship moves to something more, and a firestorm of emotions ignites, the big old house feels like tight quarters.

It’s nothing they can’t learn to navigate, though. But when dead bodies start turning up on campus—and one of the guys is a suspect—their first taste of real love could go up in smoke.

Review: Kaje never disappoints me with her stories. I had read this story when it first come out but hadn’t really thought about it. Then I was reading the blurb for this and thought I want this book. Then I started reading it and it just snapped for me. It was like I know this book and sure enough I did. I remembered every single thing that had happened and it made the same impact now that it had then.

Except that I think I loved it even more now, the thing is when I first read it I was new to the m/m stories. Now I am more in love with the characters and their story.

Ryan had always wanted to be a doctor but when his little brother died fighting fires he changed his plans. For years he did what he did and was glad that he could save people. Then a fired had him pinned and it had almost cost him his leg. Now his decision was to go back to school and do what he had wanted to do in the first place. What he had not expected was to find a guy, rent a room from the guy and start being attracted to the guy. He was straight after all.

John had basically saved Ryan when he took a tumble down the stairs. He had invited Ryan to rent a room from him for several reasons. Ryan took him up on it, and things were going pretty good that is until John kissed him. This, of course, freaked them both out because John is straight, too. Or so they thought any way. All is going pretty good, they are getting use to each other. Than John’s son ran away from home and came straight to his dad. Things are going to get real interesting now, for sure. And on top of all that they have a killer on the loose, and John is looking to be a suspect.

This is a fascinating story and I can’t believe that I had not read it more than once. In fact I want to go read it once more just to catch the guys’ reaction to their first kiss. Two straight guys who fall in love with each other and the heat is up. Their kisses are hot but when they get around to figuring out how to have sex things get even better.

I had a blast reading this and cannot wait to read the next story. Hot sex, sweet gestures, sexy men, excitement, a bit of suspense, action and danger is just a part of what you get in this book. It gave me everything I could want in a story and kept my attention all the way to the end.

I would recommend reading this story. I have read a few stories by Kaje, but this is my favorite of them all. They are written with the author’s heart all the way through it. It has a serious tone to it and has some funny moments in it which to me makes it even better. I had a blast and look forward to reading more by this amazing author.
