Time travel. For mages, it violates their number one rule: what the Mother has written, let no one unwrite. The Mother writes the destinies of the creatures on the world of Karishian. If her writings were undone, it is feared that Creation itself could be undone. The Dark Mage Morgorth takes this rule to heart, but there are others who do not.
Morgorth is about to claim a stone of power when it is stolen from him by a female mage he hasn’t seen in decades. As they struggle for the stone, she activates it, and Morgorth is unwillingly plunged into another time and another place. It isn’t long before he realizes what time he’s found himself in and there are a few familiar faces.
Most notable is a much younger version of Aishe. His mate.
Living with a tribe who will be massacred, caring for a young lad who will become his mate, and fighting a battle against a mage who can travel from past to future at a whim; Morgorth’s life has never been easy but now he must contend with the will of the Mother. Unable to change the future and the tragedies of Aishe’s life, he must decide what his role in his mate’s past will be, and ask himself one vital question: how does one defeat time?

Title: The LD50 of Memories Series: A Division P Novel, #1 Author: A. R. Moler Genre: Paranormal/ Length: Novella (148 Pages) Publisher: Torquere Press (June 10, 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥4.5Hearts Blurb: Navy Pilot Cameron Bradshaw and orthopedic surgeon Mason Flynn are fast working towards solidifying their new family. But life is full of bumps and bruises– from a sudden lack of diapers for their daughter to Mason’s bigoted father passing away. Cam is having scary psychic shock episodes too.
After a terrible experience doing a Division P body-finding job, Cam’s shields crash hard and he suffers life threatening physical side effects. The solution complicates their lives further. Still, between Jane, their new nanny, and the men reconnecting with an adult sibling apiece, they can see their new family forming around them.
Review: This story was pretty damn good. I was attracted to it by the title first and then when I started reading my attention was captivated. My only gripe was the fact that it leaves you hanging at the end. I have never really cared for that, in fact many stories that end like that get put on the back shelf and forgotten. It doesn’t matter to me if it is damn good or not, if it is left hanging then I basically forget it.
However I think with this particular story I will keep an eye out for book two. I always like the paranormal tones and futuristic way books that have psychic powers in them are thrilling. There is just something about them. On top of the fact that it gives you two gorgeous men and one of them wears a uniform is a plus.
I did have problems with the fact that it is a bit confusing at points when Cam having problems throughout the story. It has the danger scenes in it, but to a point that you are not worried about the way it ends with that. I felt disappointed in that part of the story. In parts you know how he gets that way but in others it is just questionable.
Cam and Mason have a good thing going. Mason is a doctor and Cam is a fighter pilot, but they both are psychic cops. Cam can get a reading off items and people, find those that are missing and sometimes get a reading off a body that is dead. They love each other desperately and even care for their child. There are many that are shocked that these two men got together, but a few that are good with it. They still have a way to go, and then on top of that
Cam is having a shock rebound from his latest case, where he is sent to find the bodies of children. Even dealing with his homophobic family, Mason is still focused on his family. These two are extremely hot together and I look forward to reading more about them both.
As I have said before I hate books that end in the middle of a story, but I do look forward to the next book. However I was hoping that the second book would focus on a new romantic couple instead of the same guys. It is hard to keep my attention if the story just continues and book after book comes out. I want a new story each time and not focus on the same guys. It gets old real fast.
So I look forward to seeing what the next book will bring.

Elder Petersen’s Mission Memories
by
Jeff Laver
Steve Petersen has been hoping his homosexual feelings are “just a phase.” But as a nineteen-year-old embarking on a two-year Mormon mission in South America, he realizes those feelings are still there, and he’s attracted to another missionary—the companion he’s been assigned to be with 24 hours a day.
Set primarily in 1972, less than three years after Stonewall, these missionaries have been taught by their church that homosexuality is an abomination, and those who “suffer” from those “tendencies” must repent. Worse, with God’s help, fervent prayer, and mind over matter, they can become heterosexuals. Steve’s conflict is real and heart-wrenching; he’s an official representative of his church, but he’s falling in love with his companion. Can he reconcile his church doctrine and the feelings of his heart?

Title: Summertime Stories Series: N/A Author: Kiernan Kelly Genre: Contemporary Length: Single author anthology (51 pages) Publisher: Torquere Press Publishers (July 15th 2014) Heat Level: Moderate
Heart Rating: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts Blurb: Here are two stories of summertime romance, Sparks Fly, and Hurricane Season, both of which take place in sunny Florida.
In Sparks Fly, when Riley and Rocket butt heads, the fireworks aren’t confined to the nighttime sky.
During Hurricane Season, Aiden and David meet as strangers searching for safety as the wind howls and the rain and waves pound the shore, but in addition to a warm, dry bed, find something neither one thought they were looking for.
Both stories were originally published individually by Torquere Press.
Reviewer: Leigh Review: Since these are two separate stories I have going to rate them as such.
Sparks Fly ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts:
This was a cute little tale. I am a sucker for friends to lovers’ stories. Considering it was only about 25 pages it did well giving a background story and tying in the current happenings. But it was not really long enough to give a good flushing out of the characters and their personalities.
Everything happened a bit too fast for me to truly get into the story. I was left with a general feeling of satisfaction. I think if it was longer it would have rated higher and given me more time to appreciate the characters and their relationship.
Hurricane Season ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts:
This was also a cute little story. It also seemed to be a little more flushed out, out least in the case of Aiden. David was more of a mystery as not much is explained about him,
Two men thrown together by a hurricane and finding something special, I can buy that. But as it was so short the ending left me needing to look past the impossibility of there being a happily ever after right away. These men did not know each other until a chance encounter on the beach right before the storm hit. So the whole idea felt a little off to me.
Overall both stories are well written and fast paced. But I feel if they were longer they would have been much more enjoyable reads.

Title: From the Heart Series: From the Heart Author: Kiernan Kelly Genre: Contemporary Length: Novella (76 pages) Publisher: Torquere Press Publishers (August 5th 2014) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
Blurb: Being in the closet is safe for an ex-military man like Josh – lonely, but safe, especially since he has five-year old Seth to bring up by himself. His life is orderly, and his decisions firm, and based solely on keeping it that way. When Josh meets Brett, an out-and-proud divorcee with a daughter the same age as Seth, Josh never expects his heart to begin making all the decisions.
From first meeting and through the years that follow, one thing becomes certain for the two men and their children – while their lives may be problematic from time to time, they’ll never be lonely again.
Previously published as individual short stories by Torquere Press.
Review: This book is the combination of four short stories that were originally part of a series called A Forever Family published in 2008 and 2009 from what I could find out. Although I am not going to review it that way. Because honestly they flowed very well as one book.
I liked the story of Josh and Brett. They are both parents of two adorable little children. They meet when dropping their children off for the first day of school. From there they develop a friendship over coffee and children play dates. Until finally they both admit how they feel for each other and take it to the next level.
There was a nice pace to their relationship. Nothing was rushed. They Fall in love with each other as they deal with the everyday stuff, as well as homophobia, and family troubles. Together they form a tight-knit family unit.
Good enjoyable read.

But he soon discovers that far from protecting Dominic like he thought, members of the neighborhood gang think Dominic is a monster and are terrified of him. Worried that Dominic will dump him if he finds out, Kevin struggles to keep his blackmail a secret.
But Dominic has dark secrets of his own. He has a job he won’t discuss that keeps him away from sunup to sunset and he makes secret nightly excursions after he thinks Kevin has fallen asleep. Can Kevin get away from his blackmailer? Will he find out what Dominic does all day and where he sneaks out to every night?
And can their love survive when he finally uncovers the truth?
Review: The blurb of this book intrigued me when I read it. Kevin comes across as someone who allows people to use him in certain circumstances which I didn’t understand. Dominic struck me as a strong individual who would do anything for Kevin.
The reader is able to see as Kevin matures the further you read. These two seemed perfect for one another as the story progressed. I really enjoyed both characters but would have preferred Kevin to be stronger than he was at times.
You don’t really learn a lot about Dominic and why he is the way he is at first. It was an interesting read to say the least. Keeps your attention from start to finish.
Good read.

Phoenix is Book 3 in the Love in Los Angeles series.
Title: The Bohemians, 2nd Edition Series: N/A Author: Sean Michael Genre: Contemporary / Ménage Length: Novella (109 pages) Publisher: Torquere Press Publishers (June 2nd 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Blurb: Topaz is a free-spirit, loving easily, though searching for his true soul-mate. Originally published in the Bus Stories Anthology.
Review: This book was sexually hot, sensual, and wacky at times. It was also enjoyable read. It was also a little different from what I was expecting. Which is a good thing. I found myself laughing as much as fanning myself. Just leave your expectations of realism at the cover.
I loved Topaz. He is just free in all the good ways in life. He it like this little bundle of happiness and just damn adorable. Quincy is the opposite in so many ways, but he gets drawn into Topaz’s life and they fall in love.
However there is the issue of Leo and Stephan who are also Topaz’s best friends and have been his lovers for years. I actually liked both men too. They were a couple, but included Topaz in their lives and loved him.
This is mostly a happy telling of how two separate couples finding a way to make room in their hearts and beds for the other couple.
The dynamics are interesting, very sweet, and mushy cute.
Really this book is great for a light pick me up type read with a good amount of spice added.

Coming Out Catholic
by
Alex Dunkin
Like all good Catholic boys I care what Jesus thinks. Jesus the man, and the faith. Following him make me happy. There’s just one issue… I think I’m gay. Being gay and Catholic can’t possible work together. Can it?
Coming Out Catholic follows a year in the life of a private Catholic school student as he comes to terms with his sexuality. Armed with sarcasm and his best friend Mark, he prepares to take on the school thug and the awkward social encounters plaguing his late teenage years.
Confronting himself and his family are just the beginning of his trials. He learns he must find solace with his sexual desires without surrendering any of his faith. He loves both too much but when the time comes he will have to know which one he has to give up or prepare to succumb to a life of denial.
Title: Bits of Magic Series: Hidden Magic Collection Author: Angela Benedetti Genre: Paranormal Length: 68 pages Publisher: Torquere Press (May 6th, 2015) Heat Level: Low Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥3 ½ Hearts Blurb: There’s magic in the world and its hiding in plain sight. Your friends, your neighbors, the guy who runs your favorite restaurant — any of them could be more than they seem. A man trick-or-treating with his son finds the courage to go after what he wants when he confiscates and eats some unwrapped candy. A park ranger who’s afraid of outing himself in public is reminded that his lover will — and can — protect him, no matter what. An apprentice mage learns that his master never forgets when he has a lesson to finish, and will always come for him when he gets himself lost in magic. And a boy from a mage-gifted family learns that life isn’t over just because the gift has passed him by.
General Review: I found myself a little underwhelmed by this collection and I think part of the reason is that this would have made sense with the stories in a different order. These are shorts set within the universe of Angela Benedetti’s Sentinel series. But I’ve decided to give the benefit of the doubt and I am going to assume to get the full effect of the story, I should probably go back to the start of it all to get a real sense of the goings in on in this world.
Chasing Fear ♥♥♥♥3 ½ Hearts Review: This one has an interesting setting – feels rather mystical and spooky. We meet Emilio and his lover Martin. Maybe I’m a little bit jaded when it comes to my MM book, but what this essentially boils down to is that on Halloween Martin wants to have sex in public but there’s this shady area of consent because of Emilio’s fears. Sure, it’s good, but I personally found it difficult to connect to the characters. Despite being set in the universe of the Sentinels series, I felt I needed a broader introduction about these guys who were otherwise unknown to this universe.
Catching Courage ♥♥♥♥ 3 ½ Hearts Review: In this second short we are back with Emilio and Martin. I think to some extent my comments of a broader introduction for the guys being needed still applies here, but this story was much easier to get into the characters. After having difficulty connecting to especially Martin in Chasing Fear I was more than relieved that I was finally able to connect to his character and relate. Now the guys are spending New Year’s Eve with Martin’s family in this charming vignette.
Reach Out and Touch ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts Review: Third story and we now move onto a second couple, this time apprentice mage Cal and master mage, Aubrey, who is also Cal’s master. Okay, this is a different and certainly interesting story, but it is told by Cal because Aubrey is elsewhere and Cal decides to cast some magic he isn’t ready to do. In a funny way, it comes down to me thinking, this couple needs to communicate.
I wish there could have been more Aubrey because he appears at the end and other than being thought/ spoken of by Cal he doesn’t really get a good introduction. There’s some intriguing interacting between the couple, where Cal describes Aubrey as amazing I feel that we just don’t get enough time to see him beyond being a grumpy mage.
Unfinished Business ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Review: And we are once again back with Cal and Aubrey. Once again, this story is told by Cal for the most part. It is cute and sexy and, unlike the previous story, it was really easy to see the dynamics in their relationship. An interesting bit, I’ve discovered that this story is based on a scene in the novel that set up this universe, Hidden Magic, where it has now been expanded for the purpose of this story and now told from Cal and Aubrey’s POV.
Candy Courage ♥♥♥♥ 3 ½ Hearts Review: This is fun Halloween short. This time we meet Glenn, he’s divorced and wants to spend some time with his son, so takes him trick or treating. Glenn, like any adult, wants a bit of the lollies too, so swipes some of his son’s without the knowledge that they got it from alchemist who likes to add a bit of extra something. It’s the added courage that leads to the MM portion of the story, hence the title of the story.
It’s certainly a fun read especially once we meet Neal and see Glenn come out of his shell. I think it might be charming especially those that can relate to the shyness of flirting with someone they like.
Birthdays Suck ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Review: In this final story we meet Paul MacAllister, it is like a prequel intro to the novel Hidden Magic. In this, it’s Paul’s birthday and he doesn’t like them because he has not developed any magical powers which means he cannot be a Sentinel, protector of the mortal realm. Everyone has had a horrible birthday where things don’t go your way and that made it really easy to relate to.
One criticism though, this collection would have been better off if this was the first story and acted as the introduction to the piece. Not only is it a prequel to the novel these shorts are based around, it is also a really helpful prequel to the world that we meet in the rest of the short. After reading this all of a sudden things fell into place and the previous five stories finally made sense to me.

Title: Lock and Key Series: Boots and Leather, #2 Author: T. Strange Genre: BDSM Length: Novella (60 pages) Publisher: Torquere Press (April 29, 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts Blurb: After meeting Terry at a motorcycle show, Gavin is sure he’s found the man of his dreams. While he’s fantasized about BDSM for years, Gavin has never had a play partner and Terry is happy to teach him.
After playing together for a few months, Terry has to leave on a business trip. Terry gives Gavin the key to his apartment so Gavin can sleep in, but Gavin isn’t sure he’s ready for that level of commitment.
While he likes and trusts Terry—and loves the kinky sex they have together—Gavin has to decide which he can’t give up: Terry, or his freedom.
Review: Part one of this story is Boots and Leather. It was even published under that name. Part two is Lock and Key. Now this story has quite a bit of BDSM, but I wasn’t so sure about the boot licking part. That just seemed wrong and very degrading. It was a good story altogether though.
Terry has dragged his best friend to man motorcycle shows of the year. He has wanted to learn more about the BDSM scene but never had someone to play with. He kept looking for the perfect biker to show him. And he has finally found the one for him. Too bad once it gets heated up that he chickens out. Terry wants Gavin but is afraid of what will happen once they fell in love.
This is a good story but definitely was not for me. Had it been more detailed and a bit longer then it might have changed my mind. I really did not care for the boot licking. This made Terry come off a bit bizarre and desperate.
