Blurb: When everything is lost, the only thing left to fight for is love.

Conley Elnon has been abused most of his life. He agrees to help the War Council in uncovering a vampire mole in exchange for having the opportunity to find his family. When he meets his mate Jacob, he leaves him in order to track a mad bomber intent on taking out shifter camps.

Jacob refuses to let his mate escape. He’s waited too long to find his fated mate to let him leave before he’s had a chance to say little more than hello. When he finds his mate in the middle of vampire territory, Jacob has to use all his skills to help his mate figure out the truth between vampires and shifters and how they are responsible for what happened to Conley’s family.

Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
The wait is finally over and the next book in the series is here, Yay! OK on to the review.

Conley is on the hunt to find his mother and brother who believes are still alive and prisoners of the vampires. When he meets Jacob and realizes they are mates he still walks away with the hope they will find each other again.

However, Jacob does not let his mate get away that easily. He finds him again just in time to walk into a very hustle environment.
I loved these two. They are funny and sexy even in mortal danger. They trade one liners and banter throughout the story. Just one example:

“Idiot,”Conley scoffed fondly. He covered his face again. “You are the weirdest wolf I’ve ever met.”
“Good. That makes me different. I like different.”

Conley is an omega and many would see him as a weaker wolf. But he more than proves that he is very capable to fight and kill when needed. Jacob is so accepting of his mate and in fact finds it kind of hot. He sees nothing weak about his mate. Jacob is just happy to have been granted a fated mate.

This book was simply pure fun to read. I was laughing most of the way through it and highly enjoyed it.

That is something I have come to expect when reading an Amber Kell book. There is always a high level of humor, and this did not disappoint. It was well worth the long wait.
