Blurb: After barely surviving a shootout in New Orleans, Sidewinder medic Kelly Abbott has to suffer through a month of recovery before he can return home to Colorado. He’s not surprised when fellow Sidewinder Nick O’Flaherty stays with him in New Orleans. Nor is he surprised when Nick travels home with him to help him get back on his feet – after all, years on the same Marine Force Recon team bonded the men in ways that only bleeding for a brother can. He’s very surprised, though, when Nick humors his moment of curiosity and kisses him.

Nick knows all of Kelly’s quirks and caprices, so the kiss was a low-risk move on his part…or so he thought. But what should’ve been a simple moment unleashes a flood of confusing emotions and urges that neither man is prepared to address. Now, Kelly and Nick must figure out what they mean to each other – friends and brothers in arms or something even deeper – before the past can come back to ruin their tenuous future.

Review: Kelly Abbott and Nick O’Flaherty have been friends, brothers, comrades in arms for over a decade. With Kelly still on the mend after being shot during the fiasco in New Orleans, Nick takes the time off to stay with his friend and help him while he heals. Kelly isn’t sure if it’s the pain meds, or being in such close quarters with Nick, but his perception of his friend shifts almost as soon as they get to his cabin. What starts out as mild curiosity quickly turns into so much more and soon, they cross a line that they can never jump back over again.

I really enjoyed getting to know more about Nick and Kelly. Being secondary characters throughout the Cut & Run series as members of Ty’s rag tag secret black ops team, the Sidewinders, I only got to know them in the capacity that fit into those stories. Now the focus of the story shifts to Nick and Kelly, the strong bond they already share after relying on each other in life or death situations for over a decade. So, while to some this may seem like an insta-love story, I assure you, it is not. It’s been brewing for close to fifteen years.

Narrated by Brock Thompson, this is my first audio with Thompson and it did take me about twenty minutes to get used to his narration. After listening to the Cut & Run series, I got used to that specific voice for Nick and Kelly, so Thompson’s was off at first. It did not take long for the story to pull me in though, and I actually think I like Nick more voiced by Thompson because he has his Boston bread accent. This wasn’t the norm for the Sidewinder guys, this was a singular story about Nick and Kelly realizing a mutual attraction, talking about it, and then acting on it. It was short, sexy and even a bit steamy.

I quite enjoyed this romantic reprieve and look forward to more stores for Nick and Kelly. They aren’t quite as troublesome and volatile as Ty and Zane, but they might graduate to that with more time. If you are a fan of the Cut & Run books of course you’ll enjoy this companion series.

But if you’ve avoided that series due to the madness, murder and mayhem… this is slower but just as appealing as anything else Roux has written.

Blurb: It’s been five years since Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett first worked together to solve the Tri-State murders, and time has been both harsh and kind. Engaged now, they face the challenge of planning a deeply uncertain future together. Zane is at the pinnacle of his career with one last mystery to solve, while Ty is at sea in a world where he’s no longer the tip of a spear.

There’s just one more hurdle in the way of their happy ever after: a traitor from their inner circle who threatens to burn their world to the ground.

Squeezed between the Vega cartel, an unknown mole, and too many alphabet agencies to count, Ty and Zane must gather all their strength and resources to beat the longest odds they’ve ever faced. To make it out alive, they’ll need help from every friend they’ve got. Even the friends who might betray their trust.

Review: Ty and Zane have survived so much, fought so hard for the right to love each other. Their life will never be boring, but a little bit of sunshine is always appreciated, even for half psycho FBI agents that like to shoot things. Ball & Chain ended with Zane finally accepting Ty’s proposal, and this book starts with their wedding. I was sitting on my head in the few minutes leading up to the ceremony, fearing Roux would pull out some sort of ninja on a wave runner with an AK47 to destroy the nuptials. I was so very pleased, and even in tears, as Ty and Zane had probably their first ever day of peace to have a quick civil ceremony on the water with Livvy and Deuce by their side. The wedding night was full of passion and love we’ve come to expect from these two. When the bell tolls one, all bets are off and the madness begins by way of a battered, bruised and bloody Nick landing on their doorstep with a gunshot wound.

From this moment on the action was non-stop, the suspense insane and the body count climbing as Ty, Zane, Sidewinder, the Cia and Nia set out to take down the Vega cartel that won’t stop until Ty and Zane are dead, buried and burned to the ground. It just so happens that the afore mentioned list of crazy people and agencies with nothing but alphabets in their name feel the same way about the cartel. Now the race is on to see who can take down whom first.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I love the characters and their story, but I’m sad that this is the last HooRah for Ty and Zane. Five years after that first tryst in a hotel room while investing the death of one of Sidewinders team members, Elias Sanchez, Ty and Zane are moderately healthy, mostly happy and ready for the next chapter. Too bad their pasts didn’t get that memo, because everything is about to come to a gnarly head and not everyone makes it out with their life.

What I have thoroughly enjoyed about this series is that nine books in, and I’m still intrigued, sad in fact that it’s the last one. Every installment has brought something new to the table, more madness and chaos for Ty and Zane and everyone they care about. These two men have literally been to hell and back, and back again, a side trip to New Orleans where the devil himself was knocking on their door, and now they find themselves facing down those demons, praying they will make it out alive. These books are action packed, emotional, dramatic, passionate and intense.

Narrated by JF Harding and its amazing how he pulled off so many different voices and never, not once, mixed them up. Everyone has their own distinct voice that wavers occasionally depending on the characters mood or the circumstance at that time in the story. As I said, this is probably the most intense, emotional book of the series and Harding captured every ounce of the pain, fear, love, elation and desperation with tones and nuances as he voiced the characters. I hadn’t listened to anything from him prior to this series, but I will probably seek him out for his voice chops alone in the future.

If you are a fan of this series you are going to love this final climax for this multitude of characters you’ve come to know and love. Everyone that is anyone in the Cut & Run universe, that is still breathing that is, is back for their 5 minutes of page time. As I said, it’s very bittersweet. Sad to say goodbye, but the boys definitely went out with a bang and a smile.

Blurb: Nick O’Flaherty and Kelly Abbott had their happy ending in sight when a friend’s call for help almost ended with them losing it to the blade of a knife. Now, in the aftermath of near disaster, both men are trying to heal and move on.

Moving on together, though, is harder than either of them realized it would be. Kelly struggles with simply being a lover instead of the doc while Nick is mired in his recovery. The distance between them inches along in stilted silence.

Desperately seeking solace, Nick finally gathers the courage to sort through the possessions his dear friend and fellow Sidewinder teammate, Elias Sanchez, left him when he died. Instead of comforting memories, Nick and Kelly find a stack of letters and strict instructions from Eli that prompts them to send out a call for assistance. With Eli’s letters in hand, Sidewinder sets out on one last mission together, seeking peace and absolution from beyond the grave – and from each other.

Review: This is it, the final hoorah for the Sidewinder team.

Nick is still on the mend from being stabbed and damn near killed while he, Kelly and the rest of the Sidewinder team did everything in their power to bring down the Vega cartel before they could kill Nick’s best friend Ty, and Ty’s husband Zane. By now Zane has pretty much become an honorary member of the team, having bled for them all more than once.

The knife wound, subsequent surgery and long road to recovery aren’t the only things hanging over Nick and Kelly. They’ve both lost their way, each of them were a compass for the other to light their way, all the secrets and lies has driven a wedge between them and Kelly is not sure he will find his way back to the love he feels for Nick.

It’s a letter from the only member of their psychotic team of misfits to meet an untimely demise that brings the whole of Sidewinder back together and quite possibly remind Nick and Kelly why they depend on, care for and love one another more than life itself.

Written fabulously by Abigail Roux, characters brought to life by Brock Thompson, the final book in the Sidewinder and Cut & Run series’ does not disappoint. I was a little worried about this group of men I have come to know and love having to go through another rough and tumble ordeal, but thankfully, Roux lowered the body count and anxiety level of this book dramatically from the others in these two series.

Part & Parcel brings the one character in the books we never really got to know to the forefront, Elias Sanchez. Through a series of letters and instructions, Sanchez takes his team on a trip down memory lane, making them all remember why they love each other like brothers, why they would put their lives in each other’s hands, and in doing so he also reminds Nick and Kelly that their love for each other is what matters, not the jobs or the missions or the bullshit, just love.

I will say that I don’t care very much for Thompson’s narration, but that is solely because I’ve listened to all the Cut & Run books and gotten used to a particular voice for each character.

That being said, Thompson did do a great job with the story including changes in inflection and tones to suit not only the character he was voicing at any given time, but to suit the situation at that time as well.

I know it’s an investment, but if you haven’t listened to these books, I recommend that you do. It is literally an epic saga, but it is so much fun to take the ride with all these guys.

Murder, Mayhem and Destruction is tempered by Love, Honor, Trust and Loyalty with these guys. Definitely a must read and/or listen series in my humble opinion.

I’m really quite said to have to say goodbye.

Blurb: When Nick O’Flaherty arrives at the scene of a double homicide to find he has a witness to the crime, he thinks it’s his lucky day. But when he realizes his witness is suffering from amnesia and can’t even remember his own name, Nick wishes he’d gone with his gut and put in for vacation time.

Then Nick’s boyfriend and former Recon teammate, Kelly Abbott, joins him in Boston, and Nick finds his hands a little too full as the case and his personal life collide. The witness he’s dubbed “JD” is being tailed by Julian Cross, a retired CIA hitman. To complicate matters further, JD forms an attachment to Nick that Nick struggles not to respond to as they search for the key to JD’s identity.

Trying to determine whether JD is friend or foe as they investigate the crime puts them on the trail of a much older mystery. Review: Nick has finally gone back to work full-time for the Boston PD, at Kelly’s urging, and he’s ready for a weekend off with Kelly who is flying into town for a couple of weeks. Just hours before Kelly’s plane lands, an odd case lands on Nick’s desk. A local bookstore that specialized in rare books is shot up. Two dead and one witness slash possible suspect suffering from amnesia is all Nick and his partner have to go on.

Instead of spending the weekend naked and in bed wrapped around Kelly, Nick winds up neck-deep in a case that has Nick asking for help from an old associate he never wanted to be in the same room with again.

Okay, this book was equal parts hysterical and frightening. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, not knowing the true identity of “JD” Nick and Kelly relying on him, when he could be more suspect than witness, it was nerve-racking! Then there is the appearance of Julian Cross, that can never mean anything good.

What I love so much about Nick and Kelly is that they have this unbreakable bond, forged over years in the service doing unspeakable things all in the name of God and Country. They have a trust, friendship and admiration for each other that only makes their love that much stronger.

While I absolutely enjoy Ty and Zane, I’m happy that Nick and Kelly while still getting into trouble all the damn time, like their brother series companions; their love story is softer, different. So readers get to see the other side of romance and a relationship from Roux who is no doubt, an amazing writer.

Narrated by Brock Thompson and my favorite thing about his voice is the native Bostonian accent he nails, flawlessly. Nick’s partner on the force had me in stitches with his tone and attitude, one of my favorite lines in the book came from him…

“Is it even sex with you two? Or just, sparring?”

His tones and inflections were spot on, emotion evident with changes in the mood of the story. Most importantly, he really conveys Kelly’s easy going nature, the calmer attitude that Kelly possesses that keeps Nick grounded.

Fans of Abigail Roux’s Cut & Run series will surely enjoy this series. Folks that enjoy a good mystery, flying by the seat of your pants, passionate and emotional connections between your MC’s will enjoy this book as well.

So, a little bit of an unconventional review here, but I thought it was perfect for the unconventional coupling that is Tyler Grady and Xander Garrett. In this latest installment of the Cut and Run series, Ty and Zane take a vacation and accompany each other to their homes. It’s time to meet the parent’s boys!

Ty basically cut and ran when he was old enough, joining the military and putting himself in one dangerous situation after another. When he finally tells his parents that Zane is more than just his partner at work, he is his partner at home; it doesn’t get the reception he thought it would. Mom and Pops don’t mind him being gay, they are just pissed that Ty thought he had to run away rather than tell them.

If Zane was hoping for the same reaction, what he gets is mixed. The people who matter don’t mind, aside from his mother, who Zane has never had any type of relationship with. And let me just say, what this bitch does at the end of the book pisses me off to no end. Lord forgive me, but in the shootout at the OK corral I wish she would have been a casualty of war.

It took me about an hour to get used to the new narrator as the books that were published through DSP had a different person telling the stories. Once I warmed to Harding the story took off and I was so engrossed I could not put down my iPod. All the elements I have come to love about these two men and the borderline psychotic lives they led were there, just under a different voice. I enjoyed how Harding was able to give each character their own distinct voice and still add emotion to the voices.

Of course if you are a Ty and Zane fan you’ll absolutely love this story. Action packed and nonstop from the first letter until the last. Ty and Zane are a special kind of crazy and one of these days they are going to figure out that they anchor each other. The storyline was brilliant, what is it about Ty and large, demented cats?

I had a blast getting to know both men’s families, aside from mommy dearest who can take a long walk off a short pier. Emotional, not only intriguing but completely engrossing, edge of your seat shenanigans that I have come to expect with these two men.

Oh but my favorite part is how these two love each other with every fiber of their being. So passionate, enigmatic and dangerous.

Definitely a must listen series. You can’t just jump right in though. Sorry, you must start at the beginning. And now I’m off to start the next book and see if Ty and Zane can blow up the White House, or something equally scandalous.

Blurb: Home from their unexpected deployment, the former members of Marine Force Recon team Sidewinder rejoin their loved ones and try to pick up the pieces of the lives they were forced to leave behind. Ty Grady comes home to Zane Garrett, only to find that everything around him has changed—even the men he went to war with. He barely has time to adjust before his brother, Deuce, asks Ty to be his best man. But that isn’t all Deuce asks Ty to do, and Ty must call for backup to deal with the business issues of Deuce’s future father-in-law.

Nick O’Flaherty and Kelly Abbott join Ty and Zane at the wedding on an island in Scotland, thinking they’re there to assuage Deuce’s paranoia. But when bodies start dropping and boats start sinking, the four men get more involved with the festivities than they’d ever planned to.

With the clock ticking and the killer just as stuck on the isolated island as they are, Ty and Zane must navigate a veritable minefield of family, friends, and foes to stop the whole island from being destroyed.

Review: When Ty’s brother, Deuce, asks Ty to be his best man at this wedding… in Scotland… all expenses paid, Ty and Zane welcome the almost vacation from their otherwise chaotic lives. Having just returned from a six month deployment, Ty comes home with more baggage than what he carries in his Sea bag. He isn’t back two days when their boss calls both men into their office and tells them that since Zane is now in a Supervisory role, they can no longer be partners.

Furthermore, since their relationship is now out in the open, Mac wants to transfer one of them to another state. Ty does the only reasonable thing he can think of, he quits. The one thing Ty is no longer willing to do is put his job before his lover.

The call from Ty’s brother, Deuce, comes at the perfect time. An all-expenses paid trip to Scotland for a week to be Deuce’s best man with a plus one. Providing security for his niece should be a breeze, right? Come on now, this is Ty, Zane, Nick and Kelly we are talking about. Wrong!

The tension between Ty and Nick is thick, Nick still fuming over events that happened in NOLA. When the bodies start piling up, the two men have to put their differences aside if they want to survive. No one is safe, and to spite having four of the most dangerous men in the world on the island with a crazy killer, the bodies continue to drop, at a maddening pace.

Stuck on an island in Scotland sounds like a dream, right? Again, wrong! A storm knocks out the phones and internet, a tree falls on the boathouse and all the boats are either destroyed or drift out to sea in the sub-zero waters, Zane’s laptop has been fried.

Murphy’s Law should probably be redefined in Webster’s dictionary to Grady’s law. Their bonds of friendship, loyalty and love are put to the test as the four men race against time to figure out who the killer is and whether or not this is about Deuce’s future in-laws, or a threat that is far closer to home.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph… you seriously cannot take these two anywhere, and after the last couple of books, I’m convinced that Nick and Kelly aren’t far behind that statement. Once again Roux delivers an action packed, non-stop, thrill ride of a story. It’s intense, suspenseful, passionate and completely engaging.

I was reminded of the movie Clue while listening to this book. Between the storm, the bodies piling up, so many possible suspects, the hilarity that ensues during it all. I can assure you that it was not the cook, since she is in the kitchen with the knife, in her back. In the midst of the madness, Ty is trying to convince Zane to marry him.

I think I would have to agree with Zane, stuck on a deserted island with a killer(s) in their midst, not conducive for a happy engagement. Hell, they aren’t even sure they’ll survive long enough to attend the wedding they came to Scotland for.

JF Harding continues his narration of this motley crew. I love that he continually carries the same accents and tones from one book to the next for all the recurring characters. He also has the ability to convey the characters emotions at any given time to fit the words with the mood of the story. Let me just say, this book probably has the most secondary characters of any in the series thus far, and you can hear a distinct difference in each and every character.

Definitely a must read series, especially if you like the strong, overbearing alpha male type, and want to read or listen to a story where both men have those characteristics so you can see how the navigate a relationship and try to stay on a level playing field. The relationship between Ty and Zane the way they balance each other out, it’s something amazing to behold. Not to mention that hot, monkey sex on the carpet by the fire. Yowza!!!

Review: Special agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have been through a lot over the last decade, walked different paths until they eventually crossed. But Zane is about to find out that their paths actually crossed years before they became partners in the FBI, as well as some closely guarded secrets his lover would rather he not know.

Ty Grady may be a certifiable son of a bitch, but is loyal to a fault. So when his best friend and former team member, Nick O’Flaherty, calls that he and Doc are in trouble, of course Ty drops everything and rushes to the last place on earth he ever wanted to be again… New Orleans.

Years ago when Ty was still on the force, he did an undercover stint in NOLA and didn’t leave on the best of terms. The city is all around a bad omen for Ty and his Sidewinder team mates, and several bad decisions are about to come back to try to kill them.

Zane is completely, totally, one hundred and ten percent in love with his partner. Of course the feelings are reciprocated, but Ty is a master manipulator that has redefined the definition of the words truth and lies.

Both men are about to learn exactly how far they can be pushed before they break, how far they are willing to go for one another, and all I can tell you is… it is not pretty. Roux could have easily titled this series Murphy’s Law, because whatever can go wrong most definitely will if it involves Ty and Zane.

Lord, but this book almost gave me a damn heart attack! There was a little bit of grown man angst that had me wanting to pull Zane through my iPod and smack him around a little, but thankfully, he pulled his head out of the nether regions eventually.

That being said, I could completely understand why he was livid with Ty. It is a thin line between a moral obligation to the man you profess to love, the man you want to spend the rest of your life with, and being sworn to secrecy by your boss. And even though at the end of the day Ty and Zane are smart enough to figure out what is important and fight for it, I don’t think all the secrets have truly been shared.

Narrated by J.F. Harding and I love that I am already associating his voice to these characters after just one book. It read more like a continuation for me between Harding’s attention to details with the tones and nuances he has given the guys, and bringing them smoothly over to this story, and the story picking back up right where Stars & Stripes left off. Harding captured every emotion that poured of Roux’s words in this story.

There were some seriously emotional and devastating aspects to this book and I could almost feel Ty and Zane’s pain when they spoke.

This book will put you through the ringer. It’s emotional and heavy, but it’s passionate and real as well. I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat at work while listening. There were a couple of times I was so engrossed that I sat with my fingers perched over the keyboard, staring blindly at the monitor because all I could concentrate on was Ty and Zane.

I highly recommend this book/series if you enjoy highly detailed stories where the world and the characters are so real while you listen, that you not only become invested, you are embedded in their fictional lives, anxiously awaiting the next installment.

 According to Hoyle

 by

Abigail Roux

By the close of 1882 in the American West, the line between heroes and villains is narrow. Total chaos is staved off only by the few who take the law at its word and risk their lives to uphold it. But in the West, the rules aren’t always played according to Hoyle.

US Marshals Eli Flynn and William Henry Washington—longtime friends and colleagues—are escorting two prisoners to New Orleans for trial when they discover there’s more than outlawry to the infamous shootist Dusty Rose and the enigmatic man known as Cage. As the two prisoners form an unlikely partnership, the marshals can’t help but look closer at their own.

When forces beyond the marshals’ control converge on the paddle wheeler they’ve hired to take them downriver, they must choose between two dangers: playing by the rules at any cost, or trusting the very men they are meant to bring to justice.

(This title is a revised and edited second edition, with minor new additions, of According to Hoyle, originally published elsewhere.)

Blurb: Six months after nearly losing their lives to a serial killer in New York City, FBI Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are suffering through something almost as frightening: the monotony of desk duty. When they’re ordered to take a vacation for the good of everyone’s sanity, Ty bites the bullet and takes Zane home with him to West Virginia, hoping the peace and quiet of the mountains will give them the chance to explore the explosive attraction they’ve so far been unable to reconcile with their professional partnership.

Ty and Zane, along with Ty’s father and brother, head up into the Appalachian Mountains for a nice, relaxing hike deep into the woods… where no one will hear them scream. They find themselves facing danger from all directions: unpredictable weather, the unrelenting mountains, wild animals, fellow hikers with nothing to lose, and the most terrifying challenge of all. Each other.

Review: Book 2 in the Cut & Run series and should be read or listened to in order.

So, at the end of Cut & Run things were kind of up in the air for Ty and Zane. It’s been six months now since they squared off against a relentless serial killer and almost paid with their lives. Ty has spent time in and out of the hospital as a result of that spectacular concussion, and is in the final stretch of his forced time off. Zane has been working undercover in Miami, and not a day has gone by that he hasn’t thought about Ty. What they could have had and what he has probably lost.

When they are finally called back home to meet their new partners, both are shocked to learn it will be each other. After all, their boss isn’t certain anyone else could take on the job without serious bodily harm. They are both ordered to take a couple more weeks vacation, and Ty having Zane so close again doesn’t want to let him go. So he takes Zane home with him to meet the family. A few things you should know about Ty and Zane. Wherever they go, trouble follows. And vacation time for them is more like a real life scenario of Modern Warfare!

While hiking in the Appalachian Mountains with Ty’s father and brother they are subjected to bad weather, wild animals, the danger of the mountains themselves and a group of hikers that are up to no good. Add to that their insane attraction to each other that is causing problems within their professional relationship and this is sure to be one hell of a memorable vacation. There will be biting, an attempt at a quiet blowjob in a dark tent, and someone is kidnapped by treasure hunters. If Ty and Zane can survive their surroundings and circumstance, can they survive each other?

While the sexual chemistry was still there for this two, there was a lot more angst within this storyline that drove me a little bit crazy. Of course, it’s expected to have a minimal amount, after all these are two very strong-willed, Alpha males that are going at each other as partners in more ways than one. A little too over board though this time around. I have seriously fallen in love with these guys though. They remind me of Sam and Jory from the Matter of Time series, but both personalities are more in line with Sam.

Narration was okay, that could have been a little better as well. But overall, this is a really well written series with nonstop action and suspense. You never know where these two will end up, but there will be trouble, and the chemistry between these two is blindingly evident; passionate and sensual is what they are. This is surely a must read series, and although I didn’t quite like this installment as much as the first, I did still enjoy it very much.

Blurb: A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case.

Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work after his case blows up in his face. He’s cocky, abrasive, and indisputably, the best at what he does. But when he’s paired with Special Agent Zane Garrett, its hate at first sight. Garrett is the perfect image of an agent: serious, sober, and focused, which makes their partnership a classic cliché: total opposites, good cop-bad cop, the odd couple. They both know immediately that their partnership will pose more of an obstacle than the lack of evidence left by the murderer.

Practically before their special assignment starts, the murderer strikes again this time at them. Now on the run, trying to track down a man who has focused on killing his pursuers, Grady and Garrett will have to figure out how to work together before they become two more notches in the murderer’s knife.

Review:  The story opens with the reader in the mind of the killer and his next victim. There is mention of her liking his shiny badge, so when the agents come in and take over, you aren’t surprised that they suspect one of their own. This serial killer is meticulous and precise. And in the wake of his killing spree, a strained love story blooms.

Special Agent Tyler Grady (Ty) is pulled off his undercover op after things go seriously wrong. Pulled into his commanders office, assigned a new case and a new partner are not Ty’s ideas of fun. And then he meets the pristine agent brought over from Psy Ops, Zane Garrett, and doesn’t think his day could get any worse.

Zane Garrett has had one mess up after another during his time in the bureau. A recovering alcoholic, still bitter from his wife’s death five years ago and generally does not play well with others. So he’s never had a partner to deal with, until now. Of course, he would get the most arrogant, foul-mouthed, sexy FBI agent with mood swings from hell. Oh yes, I can smell the lust brewing a mile away!

Trying hard to focus on the case and ignore their immediate and overwhelming dislike for each other, coupled with an intense and underlying attraction, they head to New York to take down a killer. Little do they know said killer is ready and waiting, for them. Ty and Zane quickly realize they are dealing with either a cop or a fellow agent gone bad, who has a penchant for Poe novels. Tempers flare and passion ignites one night when they damn near kill each other in an alley, only to end up ravishing each other later in the shower. Fore play! And, they are versatile, YES!!

The clock is ticking with Ty and Zane trying to track down the killer before he claims his next victim, or successfully claims one of them. If they can survive this chaotic attraction that they have for one another, will they survive the killer that is hot on their trail and bound and determined to make them his next victims? They will have to do the one thing they are no good at, trust each other.

The mystery and suspense of the psychotic serial killer who turns out the be the LAST person you would have suspected almost overshadowed the relationship of the would be lovers, for me at least. I absolutely loved that there was this insane story going on parallel to Ty and Zane first trying to outdo each other and then trying to out screw each other. They grow closer and gain a mutual respect for each other while they fight for their lives. By the end of the book, the reader will know exactly where men stand, because you go back and forth in their minds while reading. The question is, will they tell each other?

The sex isn’t an overabundance in this novel, but it is overwhelming. They definitely make do with the time they find. But that’s not really, what this story is about. The is an action packed, suspenseful, murder mystery with a side dish of hot sexy alpha males that have to find a balance in order to have a working partnership. Highly recommend this series, off to start the next book!

Oh, yes, narration. Not too shabby actually. The first two audios are narrated by Sawyer Allerde. He changed his tone for different characters and managed to pull of the gruffy, pissed off Ty pretty damn well; along with the more refined and pristine Zane. I do enjoy listening more when a narrator actual narrates the story and changes his nuances along with the urgencies of the scene. Good job.

Nor is he surprised when Nick travels home with him to help him get back on his feet—after all, years on the same Marine Force Recon team bonded the men in ways that only bleeding for a brother can. He’s very surprised, though, when Nick humors his moment of curiosity and kisses him.

Nick knows all of Kelly’s quirks and caprices, so the kiss was a low-risk move on his part . . . or so he thought. But what should’ve been a simple moment unleashes a flood of confusing emotions and urges that neither man is prepared to address.

Now, Kelly and Nick must figure out what they mean to each other—friends and brothers in arms, or something even deeper?—before the past can come back to ruin their tenuous future.

With bonus story Bait & Switch.

Review: This story & series is a spin-off from the Cut & Run series and the timeline starts just after the events in Touch & Geaux. Ah oh yippee!! It’s time for Nick to find the beginning of his ever after and it comes from a very surprising direction! With Kelly still recovering from his injuries Nick accompanies him home to take care of him, but Nick gets a surprise when Kelly asks for a kiss. Kelly knows Nick better than he has ever known any of his ex’s and after Nick’s confession to the Sidewinder team Kelly finds himself examining what he feels for his teammate, hoping to satisfy his curiosity he asks for a kiss and gets much more than he bargained for. Just as they begin to figure things out the past comes knocking at their door.

So we get a brief look into the Sidewinder team from the perspective of Nick and Kelly and we see a change in their relationship that can only be for the better. We see both men examining what they really feel for the other man and accepting that their feelings might be more than just the feelings of a comrade in arms or even brothers, they embrace the change between them with loads of sweaty sex but they hold back slightly from fully admitting the full extent of their feelings.

This story is a great look into the men that Ty calls friends, we see the loyalty they have for each other and the easy friendship they have even before they take it further. The story also connects to the ending in Touch & Geaux with a visit from the marines with us seeing what happens with Kelly and Nick, we also get to catch up with Ty and Zane briefly at the airport where Nick has to fast talking to do. In the bonus story Bait & Switch we meet up with Zane, Nick and Kelly when Nick is in the States for a flying visit, it is some time after Shock & Awe and we learn some details into what is happening to everyone and we see Nick and Kelly come to an agreement about their relationship.

Now I have got all that out of the way just let me express myself…. *squeal, happy dance, joyful jig, whoop* oh god it was soooooo good to see Nick get his happy going with Kelly and damn but they were hot! I loved this story for giving us a look at the Sidewinder guys and for giving us a peek into what was going on with Ty and Zane without giving much away. I loved how easily Kelly and Nick fell together but still held back a little and then when they finally have their heart to heart and admit what they really want from each other *sigh* it was so sweet edged with a touch of angst.

I recommend this to those who love men going after what they want, friends becoming lovers, admiting what you really want and grabbing hold of love with both hands.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Grady and Zane both know that undercover work might not be an option anymore after their pictures are plastered on the news. With over twenty years in the Bureau, Zane just might consider retirement. But, when Ty receives a call from a friend in need, they drop everything to get to New Orleans. But, New Orleans holds secrets from Ty’s past.  One that briefly crosses paths with Zane’s past. As Ty and Zane face threats from the past, Ty’s secrets shake loose and Zane is left reeling. Can Zane and Ty escape from the past and New Orleans alive… and more importantly together?

Ho-ly crap!! This is an action packed, emotional rollercoaster, secret filled, jaw dropping, grin inducing story that you won’t want to put down. This story digs deep into the past and into the secrets that Ty holds close. It’s a story that will make you gasp in shock, moan in despair and grit your teeth in frustration. Forget all the books before, because this is the book that defines Ty and Zane.  This is the book that could make or break them and this is the book that leaves you reeling in shock, heartbreak, betrayal and hope. All the while you root for our guys and pray that it all works out.

Abigail Roux has crafted an incredible story, while keeping the storyline fresh and interesting. she pulls us into Ty and Zane’s world again giving them insurmountable obstacles to overcome. Not only do we get the incredible Zane and Ty, but we also get Digger, Owen, Kelly and Nick… oh. And I can’t forget blast from Ty’s past, Liam. All the characters play brilliantly off each other giving the story an edge. So that’s about all I will say about this book. Because I refuse to ruin it for anyone. And this is one book that has to be read to discover the incredible secrets it has hidden. Oh and Abigail Roux… the ending, how could you!

The only recommendation that I can give is to read this book. It isn’t to be missed and if you have read the other books then *scream* you will never believe what’s awaiting you!! And if you haven’t read any of the other books… welcome to Earth, alien visitors.

Blurb: Left alone in Baltimore after his unpredictable lover bails, Special Agent Zane Garrett takes his frustration out on everything in his path until he is ordered to Chicago to back up an undercover operative. When he gets there, though, he finds himself face to face with his wayward partner, Special Agent Ty Grady. They have to deal with the uncertainty lingering between them while they work to retrieve their intended mark, a retired hit man and CIA wet-works operative named Julian Cross.

Ty, once a Marine and now a FBI hotshot, has a penchant for being unpredictable, a trait Zane can vouch for. Zane is a man who once lived for his job but has come to realize his heartbreaking past doesn’t have to overshadow his future. They’re partners, friends, lovers, and the go-to team for unusual cases. With Cross and his innocuous boyfriend, Cameron Jacobs, in tow, Ty and Zane must navigate the obstacles of a cross-country trek, including TSA pat-downs, blizzards, their uncooperative prisoners, CIA kill teams, a desperate lack of sleep and caffeine, and each other. Ty and Zane are determined to get Julian Cross to DC in one piece, but it’s starting to look like it might be the last thing they do.

Pixie’s Review: For some reason some people doubted that Abigail Roux would be able to do justice to the Cut & Run series after Madeleine Urban retired from writing and, well, all I can say is read it and weep. Ty and Zane are teamed up to bring in Julian Cross, the only man still alive who can identify the man responsible for countless deaths, but he doesn’t come quietly and Zane and Ty have their hands full with the prisoners, the CIA, each other and their relationship. As they run across the country, dodging CIA operatives, dealing with unruly prisoners and trying to deny the need to kill Cross, Ty and Zane sort through their relationship.

Ty and Zane are back. When we last saw them, Zane had just woken up and found that Ty had done a flit. Now, he receives a phone call telling him he has a job, when he turns up at the rendezvous point he is surprised to find Ty. Ty fled because the walls were closing in and now he is face to face with the man he loves, but, they have a mission to complete, get Julian Cross to D.C. to identify a killer at all costs. It is far from easy, as they are chased by the CIA, who wants to stop Julian Cross, and to make matters more difficult, Julian’s boyfriend Cameron comes along for the ride.

What can I really tell you about this book? Except freaking brilliant. For those of you who worried that Roux wouldn’t be able to keep the spirit of Cut & Run and its characters alive, you worried for nothing. Abigail Roux gives us the characters we know and love, their attitudes, snarkiness and all their faults and flaws… she also gives us the excitement of chases, shootouts, and Ty’s ability to make people want to kill him. She also gives us Julian and Cameron from Warrior’s Cross and the spirit of those characters shine through just the same.

This book is really well written. The storyline and plot are excellent. The characters are really well-developed and nothing is over the top. Ty and Zane and their complex, but easy relationship, is woven brilliantly throughout the action and suspense. And although their relationship edges into their work, it doesn’t overpower it and they do manage to come to a new starting point in their relationship. We also get a visit with Nick (Ty’s best friend) and he and Zane work some things out. And I have to say pairing up Ty and Zane with Julian and Cameron was a pure stroke of genius, they were all brilliant together.

So, we have hot sex, betrayal, twists, hot men, danger, chases, shootouts, things not being as they seem, a happy ending, 4 men that we know and love and an incredibly good story. If you want to know more, than I advise you read this book. Oh hell. I’d advise you to read it anyway.

Artemis’s Review:  ♥♥♥♥♥5Hearts

Let me just say that I am a HUGE Ty and Zane fan and have read all of the previous books in this series multiple times.  Some I liked more than others but I have been waiting for Armed and Dangerous for what seems like ages!  I downloaded it within hours of its release and did nothing but read it all day.  I honestly could not put it down.  Both the relationship development and plot were incredibly well written.  You will not be disappointed in this book!

I was furious with the ending of the last book…Zane wakes up to an empty bed and a note from Ty that he needs some time away to think.  I wanted to throttle him.  This was settled rather quickly at the beginning of the story and Zane and Ty are immediately thrust into a mission that requires them to transport 2 very important people back to DC.  If you have read Warrior’s Cross you will already be familiar with Julian and Cameron and if you haven’t read it I highly recommend you check it out.  While you don’t NEED to understand these 2 characters for Armed and Dangerous to make sense, it will help.  And since it was another awesome book by Ms. Roux you won’t be sorry!

Julian is not a willing participant in his transport back to DC and he is determined to get himself and Cameron away from Ty and Zane.  This involves a lot of arguing, trickery, and a few outright physical fights.  Ty and Julian have a very hostile yet extremely amusing way of dealing with each other.  I alternated between laughing and cringing every time they started fighting.

As for Ty and Zane’s relationship, all I can say is that I am SO glad to see them finally starting to open up emotionally.  They are finally willing to admit that they are totally and completely in love with each other and really try to be honest and open about their feelings without it being at all corny sounding.  Zane finally give’s Ty the necklace he bought and has been hiding for quite a while.  It was a romantic moment that had just enough smirking and teasing to keep it from being out-of-place in the story.  The author dealt with the Nick issue from the previous book as well and I think it was very well done.  We are left with a better understanding of Ty and Nick’s relationship and Zane seems accepting of their friendship.

The sex is downright scorching hot and Ty is finally starting to accept the fact that he really likes having Zane take top dog position.  They are comfortable with each other, passionate, and totally in love.  This translates into some seriously sexy interactions that are the perfect blend of both heat and tenderness.

I was disappointed in the end that they didn’t come out to their coworkers but am really looking forward to the next book in this series to see if that issue is tackled in it.  I just hope that MS Roux is writing quickly!
