Blurb:  When a man wakes after a plane crash to find himself on a mysterious island where humans and mythical Merfolk live together, is it all just a strange dream? Or does the Bermuda Triangle have more hidden dangers than were ever thought possible?

What’s a guy to do when his world is falling apart? Go on a vacation of a lifetime…

Gabriel “Gabe” Overton has the worst luck. First, he’s caught having an affair with his father’s married business partner and forced to go on an unwanted tropical vacation until the scandal dies down. Then the plane he’s riding in crash lands on a mysterious island in the middle of nowhere.

Saved by a man with fins instead of feet, Gabe must now try to uncover the island’s secrets, all without being killed in the process. Maybe he can figure out just who imbedded a pearl into his forehead and what that has to do with the sea creatures–known as the Merfolk–and discover what the hidden evil on the island has planned for them all before it’s too late.

Review:  A great ‘tail’ of sexy mermen, and their land-based lovers.

Poor shy and gangly Gabe is being sent away to a remote island. Little does he know as his plane crashes, that it’s his destiny to be rescued by a drop-dead gorgeous merman, and in this merfolk tale, a mate is denoted by having a pearl pressed into their forehead.

He encounters a cruel and creepy village leader, and uncovers a deadly truth about him. Escaping from that danger leads him to Paxton, his mer mate, who just happens to be king of the sea.

Gabe even gets involved in preventing a war between the human and merfolk races.

All-in-all, this was a very enjoyable ‘tail’, and Paxton and Gabe make a hot, sexy couple. There is reference to abuse and torture, but nothing explicit.

If you like fantasy, merfolk, and happy endings, this is for you.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Sashan has stayed clear from the Katrian village out of shame, only going back when he has to or to check up on his mate Micah, the mate he feels deserves better. Micah has wanted Sashan for as long as he can remember, but the big Katria always avoids him, so now Micah decides to take fate into his own hands. When Micah is kidnapped and severely injured, Sashan has to face his fears and accept what fate has offered him.

This is a fantastic continuation of Outside The City, it begins 15years after the Dome has fallen and stays with the storyline of the Outsiders and the City Dwellers, and giving us added information about the truth behind the City. Micah has longed for Sashan since he realized he liked boys, now 21 his brother Lucah convinces him to provoke Sashan into a reaction, but it doesn’t work out as planned and Micah is kidnapped. Sashan has steered clear of Micah because he feels tainted by his past, when Micah is taken, he has to put aside his fears and claim Micah as his mate, having to trust in Micah not to turn from him. The kidnapping reveals a traitor in their midst’s and a secret that shakes the foundations of all the Outsiders.

I loved this story, not only do we get to see previous books characters; it also introduced new characters in the shape of the Wolfric shifters, and gives us a surprising twist near the end which opens us the storyline to the Wolfric shifters as well. Micah is a wonderful character who suffers greatly in this story; Sashan is the typical alpha male, thinking he is protecting those he loves with his distance, but both characters together can heal each other from their pasts. They are hot together, complement each other in personalities and troubled with their own fears but determined to do what is best for the other

I really enjoyed the storyline, plot and surprises thrown our way, I found the addition of the Wolfric clan wonderful and I think they complement the Katria wonderfully, I am hoping to see more of them in the future… maybe a story for Alpha Jethoro *pretty please*. This storyline has become more evolved which means that we can expect some more wonderful books in this series… at the least I expect Lucah’s and maybe Callum’s stories, with the hope of others **chants* Jethoro, Jethoro Jethoro*   .

I recommend this to those who love shifters, science fiction, surprise twists, hot sex, great characters, danger, soul-searching and a very happy ending that leaves us with a hint of the next book.

Review: David is responsible for his special needs older brother, Sammy, he has done everything he can to protect them both after their horrible childhood and that includes ensuring nobody can hurt them emotionally, his icy persona keeps people at bay until his bosses son, Nick, walks through his office door. Nick has been burnt by love in the past, now he is a ‘love ‘em and leave ‘em’ man, but when David rejects his advances out of hand he accepts a bet to melt David’s icy shell, but getting to know David and his brother Sammy convinces him to take a chance on love again, but the bet is hanging in the background. Can Nick make David believe in his love when the truth comes out?

This is a lovely novel that will touch your heart with it’s emotionally punches and its simple sweetness. David adores his older brother, Sammy, even though he has to look after him, after a horrendous childhood with their father, David took guardianship of Sammy and has never looked back, Sammy’s gentle childlike sweetness more than makes up for any hardship they have faced. Holding people at bay is a way to protect both of them, but Nick works his way into their lives and into David’s heart and shatters David’s trust. Nick pursued David on a bet, after being shattered by his ex’s betrayal Nick didn’t think anything of it, until he got to know the kind, sweet, sexy man beneath the icy persona and knows that he has to come clean about the bet, but he leaves it too late.

Oh. If ever there were characters that you wanted to take home and mother, then David and Sammy are it, David is a wonderful character who always puts his brother first, opening his heart to Nick was hard for him, but when he does, he embraces what they have together. Nick is callous when he first meets David, but as he gets to know the real David his heart is unprotected and he can’t help falling in love. Even though this is a romance story Sammy is still one of the main characters and you can’t help but fall in love with his childlike delight and wonder, we also take their neighbor Ms Petty to heart.

I loved how this story was paced although the ending felt a bit rushed, the storyline is really good and the characters are wonderful, there are many emotions that roll around in this story and you are there every step of the way. I would love to see all these characters again in the future

I have to recommend this story to those that love simple romances, adorable characters, trusting again, hot sex, betrayal, forgiveness, and a very successful conclusion.

Review: Daren seeks solace in a farmhouse that he has inherited from his uncle. He needs time and space to forget the betrayals that landed him in hospital and targeted him for suspicion from work colleagues and friends alike. Now starting over, he discovers the murder and cover-up of a young man nearly thirty years before and vows to set right the wrongs that befell Toby… the ghost he is falling in love with.

Wow, this is one excellent mystery/crime ghost story, not only was the solving of the crime and discovering the hidden secrets great, but the mystery of how Toby and Daren could be together was handled brilliantly, leaving you in suspense for a while and expecting a bittersweet ending. Daren was betrayed by the person he trusted the most, his work partner and lover of two years Mike. Now, months later, after dealing with the investigation and the fall out of that last night, he begins anew and discovers his new home is haunted by the ghost of a murder victim. Toby needs justice to pass to the other side, but he falls in love with Daren. As they get closer to Toby’s murderers and Daren discovers the truth behind Toby’s murder, Toby realizes that he doesn’t want to leave.

This is a brilliantly written story that gives you vivid descriptions of the horror that both these men… err ghost and man have faced and living through the experience with both of them. Daren is a very strong character, even with everything that had happened to him, he still believed in justice. Toby was a wonderful ghost; his story breaks your heart especially when you hear how he tried to comfort his father after he died. He is such a sweet character and Toby and Daren share some wonderful experiences together in the dream world.

The ending of this book surprised me and made me smile as I realized that Toby and Daren would get their happy ending, and it was a very welcome surprise. I think that a lot of you will enjoy the whole murder/mystery and the cover-up with Daren digging into the past and uncovering the clues, and I also think you will be surprised and pleased with how Amylea Lyn has handled the ghost/human sex scenes.

I am recommending this to those who love paranormal, cute ghosts, a great mystery, some danger, hot loving, and an ending with is unexpected but very happy.

Review: Wesley is shocked when he finds his father’s notes among his mother’s things. They detail an experiment that was overtaken by the government years ago. Now, Wesley faces the results of the government experiment as they are sent to bring him in. Stone is amazed when he discovers who Wesley really is and begins to hope he is the answer to his and his brother’s problems. But, first they have to lose the The Company and their Alters.

Amylea Lyn has produced an interesting story that begins with a naive scientist and government betrayal and is obviously the beginning to a brilliant new series. Wesley is a brilliant man, but he is hopeless in social settings. When he teams up with Stone, his awkwardness is apparent, but his sweetness shines through. Stone has never been allowed to have emotions and has had them beaten out of him, but The Company failed and although Stone is very awkward with his emotions and very rusty with them, they are still there and very apparent when he talks about or is with his brothers.

Seeing Wesley and Stone fumble about with their feelings for each other is quite sweet. But, we are always reminded that they are in danger and The Company will never stop looking for them. Stone has five brothers and we meet each of them; Fury, Blade, Trigger, Ghost and Locke. When Stone discovers who Wesley is, they all defect from The Company and they have to stay one step ahead not to fall into their hands again. The Company wants Wesley and they are determined to find out what he knows about his father’s experiment and discovery.

The storyline is really good and the plot is interesting. The characters are brilliant. I can’t wait for the other brothers’ stories so they can begin to heal emotionally. There are times of danger, times of loving and times of anger and they all blend well. I really did enjoy this story, but at times I felt disconnected from the story and I can’t even tell you why. I would be in the story and then suddenly I would seem to drift for a few pages. I’d read it, but it was as though those few pages was filler with no substance, which really was a shame because Amylea Lyn has developed a really good story base and some brilliant characters. She has great baddies and a brilliant lead for the next book.

I will recommend this to those who like secret government agencies (baddies), a collection of hot men who want to be normal, two men falling in sweet love, hot sex and an ending that makes us want the next book now.

Escape wont be easy, and there are dangers waiting for them on The Outside, ready to strike at the fragile relationship between the two men. When The Beast’s past come’s to light, will Raine be able to put aside his own fears in order to fight for the life the two of them could have together? Or will he fold under the pressure?

Will he get his happily ever after?

Or will he become just another victim of the Nature of the Beast.

Review:  Amylea Lyn’s first installment in her new Outside the City series, Nature of the Beast, is set in a world where the City is completely under the control of the government that insists nothing exists beyond the City- a claim they can make since the City is covered by a dome, separating it from the Outside.  The government controls and monitors everything, including the ban on plant life within the City.

Raine is an outcast in the City, he has different coloring than most of the citizens, is gay, and has an unheard of ability to communicate with plants.  Feeling his differences keenly, his sense of isolation and loneliness is deep.

Ash was betrayed by somebody he should have been able to trust, and shoved away in the City prison.  Unable to remember much about his past, and stuck in a dank prison cell for years, he has become The Beast- a man-like creature with animalistic characteristics.

The two meet after Raine is imprisoned for his illegal horde of plants, and is thrown to The Beast.  Under unusual and difficult circumstances, Raine and Ash have to work together to escape their captors, seek a new home, find acceptance, and outwit the traitor from Ash’s past.

Told mainly from Raine’s perspective, Ms. Lyn has created a comprehensive world with events that are plausible within that context.  The ups-and-downs that Raine and Ash experience, the secondary characters, and complexities of the City’s society complete this rather interesting story.  While there are unanswered questions (When and why did the City separate from the Outside?  Why and how is Raine so connected to plants?  Whatever happened with the peripheral characters?) I’m rather certain these will be addressed in future books.  Explaining everything in the first book wouldn’t make too much sense, now would it?
