Blurb: Ex-con David Joyner returns home knowing he must atone for his past sins. Working at an animal shelter, David keeps his head down, desperate to prove to a hostile town he’s a new man. The one time David looks up, he spots fellow motel dweller Ben, and is terrified by his attraction to the man. David doesn’t want to feel anything. He can only damage what he loves.

On a forced vacation, PI Ben Evans accepts a job to tail a recently released prisoner. What begins as an easy gig turns complicated when Ben, a controlled man, can’t deny the pang of empathy he feels for his subject, David. Ben can’t suppress his aggressive sexual desires whenever he’s near David either.

Repeatedly crossing paths, David and Ben do their best to fight their growing attraction. When passion explodes, and secrets are revealed, both men have to conquer inner demons in order to accept the others love.

Someone has turned the tables on David, though, stalking him and leaving threatening notes. Will anyone believe David if he tells? And when David’s stalker raises the stakes, can Ben find the man who has become his world in time to save their love?

Review: I have always been a huge fan of Cameron Dane, HUGE. I have all of her titles and I could not wait to get started on this newest release. With that said, it pains me to say I had a really hard time getting through this story. In my opinion, it was not her best work to date. There were places I felt the story was too amateurish. The storyline seemed to drag and although the plot had a suspense/mystery to it, it was a bit stifling, almost stagnant at times.

David Joyner has just been released from prison and returns to his hometown to not only make amends, but to live his life and start anew. A lot of people turned against him after many of his secrets were exposed. He came out to his family and the entire town, at the same time, after stalking an ex and then trying to commit suicide. He only wants to atone for his past transgressions, find a steady job, and keep his head down.

He did find a job at the local animal shelter but keeping his head down has not worked for him. He gets into more than one raucous in town drawing unwanted attention to himself. What he doesn’t realize, however, someone is watching him very closely. He tries to figure out, on his own, who the mystery person is leaving him threatening notes. He’s not comfortable reporting these threats because of his record. No one will believe him, so he thinks, and maybe he deserves this anyway after what he put everyone through.

Because of the turmoil David caused in the past, Ben Evans, a private investigator has been hired to follow him and see if he is, in fact, a changed man. Ben has been forced to take some needed vacation time and put his own life into perspective. He hates not being able to work or staying busy so when he gets the phone call to help an old friend he jumps at the chance. What Ben doesn’t expect is to be attracted to David, the person he is to follow.

After meeting David, coincidentally they share the same motel, he recognizes immediately an attraction. Never in his professional career has he had such feelings towards his client. He knows he shouldn’t have those feelings now but he can’t seem to pull himself back. Each day, Ben and David spend a little more time together, learning about their pasts, what they want for their future and they have great chemistry. Ben is torn with decisions he knows he has to make. The first one being he can no longer follow David and report back his findings.

Will David even want to continue seeing Ben when he find out is true purpose? How will this affect his progress with his therapy? Ben knows he has to come clean with David. He really likes him and honesty is important to both of them.

David has made a lot of progress with his insecurities and his obsessive behaviour since he has been released. This time when he messes it up, he recognizes what he’s doing and immediately pulls back. Hopefully, this will pay off for him and give him the strength and courage he needs when the person threatening him ups the ante and takes it one step further. Will Ben be able to save David or will David finally step up, do what is required, and save himself?

Even though there were places within the storyline I had trouble, this is still a good story. It won’t keep me from buying the next one this author releases because Cameron Dane is an amazing author. She writes very hot sex scenes between her characters and she doesn’t hesitate to include them frequently. In this story, you could certainly see the characters growing and reaching a different level of maturity.

For me, the prose wasn’t as tight as what I am use to reading from this author. I know what Ms. Dane is capable of, and for that alone I will always read anything and everything she releases. This story is part of the Foster Siblings series but it can definitely be read as a standalone. Characters from previous books make a small appearance but if you haven’t read the others, it will not hinder you here.

I would recommend this novel to anyone because what bothers me may not bother you. And it is, after all, Cameron Dane. Just her name alone will always pull me in, without pause, allowing me any and every opportunity to add her books to my shelf.

Review: I love this book and think that it is an absolute must have in anyone’s library. It has wonderful characters who are full of passion, fire, love, gentle and compassion. The world inside this book would make anyone lose themselves inside of it. It caught my attention from beginning and kept it all the way to the end.

Adam had been kicked out of his home because he was gay and he did everything he could to survive the streets. Then one day he pick pocketed the wrong man or in his case the right man. Rhone is part owner of Quinn Security and knew that he had to help this young man. For ten years, they had the best friend status down, but for Adam he wanted more. Then one night with the help of their business partners, it comes to head. The sex is hot, full of passion that the heat would burn you from the inside out. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses, but as with many friendships, it is just a beginning.

Cameron has a good hit on his hands and I am glad to get a chance to write about it. The characters are full of warmth and you can’t help but love each one. The only problem I had with this story was that it took too long to get to the sexual side of this relationship. To force Adam to watch the man he love be with women, when it should have been him that Adam was making love to. But as with many other thoughts, I suppose it makes them want to keep their feelings for life. I love this book and can’t wait to read the next book.

Blurb:  A horse stock manager on the rodeo tour, gruff cowboy Jed Hastings is in a bind. He needs a new assistant yesterday. Enter green-as-hell Booker West. Booker spent his childhood dreaming about being a part of the rodeo. He doesn’t have any experience working with horses, but Jed doesn’t have options, and gives the newbie a chance.

Innocent about the world and secretly gay, Booker works like the devil to hide his attraction to Jed. He doesn’t just want to be a wannabe-cowboy with a crush; he wants to learn from Jed. Booker craves Jed’s respect, friendship, and trust. For Jed, he knows an eager young colt like Booker should work his last nerve, yet he finds he has endless patience with the guy. He’s possessive about Booker too. And while bunking together does create intimacy, that doesn’t explain away straight Jed’s explicit sexual fantasies and growing desire for another man.

When a life-altering event sends Jed and Booker reeling, a night of raw passion between the men finally explodes. But in the light of day, can Booker help Jed accept their love? Or will this unearthed attraction send Jed to a dark place from which he can’t recover?

Review:  I love Cameron Dane, and am a huge fan. I have read every book I could get my hands on and devoured and cherished them all.

The pacing was perfect. We meet Booker at 19 and he spends the next four years growing up. We see bits and pieces of Booker as he matures and struggles to hide his feelings for Jed. I think this was handled beautifully. Jed beginning to feel tingles of awareness of Booker was also lovely and exciting.

I don’t usually dissect a book when I review, but this one has me trying to identify why I didn’t fall head over heels for this book. I love angsty reads, if it makes me cry my tush off then it’s practically a shoe in for my comfort food shelf. This book made me cry, ugly cries – a few times! Buuuut… *shrugs* I get that Jed had to face some really tough truths about himself – that would knock anyone on their ass. I agree everyone reacts differently to scary shit. Yet I had a hard time with how Jed went from alpha strong guy to needy and tragic. I got tired of the storm/black clouds metaphor and wanted to shake Jed and tell him to get a grip, and pull up his big boy pants. This is awful, because I’m normally the most sympathetic person you’ll meet.

Booker though, gosh, I think I’m in love with him. To watch him grow, mature, and handle some tough kicks and to keep going after Jed, his love – was wonderful. He learned to be strong when Jed could not; he tried to always put what was best for Jed first – even when he didn’t have enough experience to know the right course. There is nothing sexier than watching someone do what needs to be done, even when it hurts. In the end love does conquer all and I loved the rock solid HEA.

Review: Booker is a young man that has rodeo in the blood. Jed sees that from the start and takes a chance that a greenhorn is better than the worthless hand he has now.  He talks his boss into letting him hire Booker.  Jed loves nothing more than the rodeo and his brother and mother.  His lifestyle keeps him from getting into relationships with women, and he isn’t the friendly type but Booker brings out feelings in him he doesn’t want to face.

Booker knows he is gay and he also knows his feelings for Jed are more than friendship but he is happy with being room-mates. At least until Jed realizes there is more and starts running from his feelings instead of owning them.

This is a very heartfelt book of denial. The story is full of angst and deep emotions of friendship, love, relationships, being gay and just being in love period.  Its one heck of a rollercoaster ride with Jed’s feelings going up and down and hot and cold, but in the end, the story is worth holding on tight and hanging on until the end of the ride. I will warn you be ready to rip out Jed’s heart, more than once or slap him silly LOL.

Recommendation: If you like heartfelt stories, friends to lovers, closeted gay, true love that’s hard won, happy endings, and very explicit very hot and steamy mansex and of course Cowboys and horses, this is definitely for you..

Review:  This story has some angst and two very sexy men.

The story chronicles Adam from the day he meets Rhone Quinn as a belligerent street teen to the day they both admit what they mean to each other.

Although a 10-year span seemed overly long for an unrequited love from Adam’s side, especially since Rhone comes over as a totally straight guy, the story kept me hooked wondering when, and even if, the guys would finally get together.

However, I found it hard to accept the set-up that brings them together. Also, while I accept that Rhone could suddenly realise he was in love with Adam; “How did I never see it?” I find it much harder to believe that a man, especially one who has never even thought of another guy in that way, would immediately be as willing to experience everything. Right there. Right then.

Those issues aside, it was still a good read, and once Adam and Rhone get together, it’s as hot as Hades.

I recommend it for those who like hot sex, and to see love triumph over adversity.

Review:  Adam lives on the streets after being kicked out of his house by an abusive, homophobic father. Rhone catches him trying to pick his pocket. Instead of turning him over to the authorities, Rhone offers him a job at his firm, Quinn Securities. The two eventually become roommates and over the course of the next ten years become best friends. Rhone has no idea his friend of so many years is gay until he walks in on a rather startling scene. What follows is an intense encounter between the two.

I enjoyed watching the relationship slowly build. Rhone and Adam cared deeply for one another. Even though the relationship was platonic, I still had the sense that they were in love. Rhone’s cluelessness wasn’t really plausible (didn’t he wonder why Adam hadn’t been on a date in the ten years he’d known him?). It takes these two a frustratingly long time to get together, but it is very satisfying once they do. The erotic scenes are very detailed and drawn out, even if they’re not realistic (neither of them had ever been with a man, yet they had mad lovemaking skills). If you’re in the mood for a hot and steamy read, Cameron Dane does not disappoint.
