Blurb: On the Road: In order to come home, first you must leave it.

Deke Sommers knows staying with his boyfriend is a bad idea. Michael enjoys ménages just a little too much and often tries to get Deke to share someone with him. Deke is not interested. He gives Michael permission to occasionally enjoy them on his own as long as he’s safe and honest about it. Unfortunately, that’s not enough for Michael, and he surprises Deke by inviting a couple of friends to his apartment to play with him.

Deke does the only thing he can…he flees. Calling up his life-long friend, Dirk, who is traveling with his vampire lover, Deke asks for help. Dirk tells him to meet him in Stone Ridge. There, Deke once again sees Luther Caldwell, a wolf shifter he met over lunch in Las Vegas months ago and hasn’t been able to get out of his mind since. Except, Luther is straight, or in the closet, isn’t he?

When Luther is neither shy nor reticent upon their meeting, claiming they are mates, can Deke trust another dominant male?

Review: This is book twenty-five in this series and they need to be read in order. The characters for each story will be talked about just a bit in previous books. It also gives you an insight into their amazing world and lives. A world that you will find yourself captivated in. A world that I found myself wishing I were living in. How they stand up for each other and protect the ones that are not as strong as the alpha is.

The characters all come off as wonderful men that you would want to stand besides. Most of the shifters all come off as dominate but the mates are cared for. Although in a couple of books it is in fact the human mates that are the dominate ones.

Deke had just come out of an abusive situation. In fact, he downright fled to safety. His boyfriend was in to ménages and he was not. He had done some, but actually hated it. However his boyfriend hadn’t taken no for an answer and Deke ran. After contacting his friend, he headed to Stone Ridge.

Where he came across a man that he had not been able to get out of his mind the last time they had met.Luther was one sexy man, and Deke wasn’t too sure if he was straight or not. Luther had said that he had a daughter and had run for the hills.
Luther was a dominate shifter and afraid of what his daughter would say if she found out that he had a male mate. When the dangers come for Deke, Luther knew he would do anything to protect his mate.

I love this story, but then again when Charlie puts out a book, I am usually the first one to grab it. She gives you characters that will have you falling in love. This story has a serious tone to it, but it does have a bit of humor to it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I would recommend reading this, if you love sexy men, strong shifters, gorgeous humans, excitement, a bit of adventure and dangerous situations.

Blurb: On the Road: Traveling was supposed to open his eyes, but it opened his heart, too.

Logan St. Clair made some bad decisions and fell in with the wrong crowd. After believing a fellow wolf shifter’s bigoted opinions, he helps attack their pack’s brand new alpha and alpha-mate…his male alpha-mate. They lose and Logan is exiled. To his shock, Logan is approached by another alpha, Kontra Belikov—a bear shifter who leads a nomadic group of bikers. Even knowing Kontra is mated to a male, the allure of a new pack is too strong. Logan accepts. Most of Kontra’s pack-members are in gay matings, and Logan learns to be polite and accepting of those who are gay, even forming his own opinions.

While Logan no longer loathes homosexuals, he never expects to feel attraction to a guy. That’s exactly what happens, however, when he meets Kai’s human friend, Tyson Grubler. He doesn’t understand it and fights it with every fiber of his being, except, when Logan sees Tyson head into a club bathroom with a stranger. He then loses control of his wolf’s possessive instincts. Logan tosses Tyson’s trick out of the stall and sinks his teeth into a very shocked Tyson’s neck. Realizing what he’s done—starting the bonding process—Logan flees. Can he come to terms with what his wolf already knows—that Tyson is his mate?

Review: This is book nineteen in this series and they don’t need to be read in order. Of course, if you do,  it will give you an idea on who all the characters are and what their lives are about past and present. It also gives you a glimpse into their amazing world. A world that you will find yourself sinking into and driving all your troubles out of your mind. It caught my attention from the moment I opened the book and kept it all the way to the end.

Charlie Richards is one of my top favorite authors and I cannot wait to get my hands on all of her future books. I have to admit that I have probably read all of the books probably a dozen times or so and this one is no different.

I love the way Tyson just comes across. He is so tender, sweet, and loving. He is also attracted to Logan, a shifter who is a bit of a homophobe. So when he sees him once again at a club he is shocked with Logan’s attitude change.

Logan has given everyone a hassle over that fact that they all loved men. If he had to admit it, so does he. But, he never took it to the next stage. So wasn’t he shocked to find out that fate gave him a male mate? A mate that could not give him children. He had decided to find a woman and mate with her, well that was until he saw Tyson at the club heading to the bathroom with a redhead. His wolf was in control now. He finds out though that he is falling for his mate, which is a great thing for them both. He also realizes that the sex is hot and full of passion.

I loved this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. It gives you everything you would want in a book. It gives you sexy men, hot shifters, quirky mates, excitement, adventure, the love of a mate and men that will do everything in their power to love their men. It actually gives you that and so much more. It will captivate you the way the their worlds just seem to mix and mingle, the love that they have for each other, their protective streak and their jealous streak, the strength that they have to keep their people safe.

I would recommend reading this book and the others because once you start you won’t be able to stop.

Blurb: Into the Paranormal World: Sometimes going against family leads to better rewards than sticking with them.

After seventeen years in captivity, Caladon O’Hara is freed from his cage by gargoyles. His rescuers take him to their manor, give him a safe place to recuperate, and set him up with a new identity, Caladon Wykert. They also aid Caladon in tracking down information about his son, Taolma. Upon seeing a picture of his son’s face after so long, Caladon goes into mild shock, overwhelmed at seeing him as an adult for the first time.

Nurse Leroy Wilde works part-time at the gargoyle’s mansion. He handles daytime shifts since Perseus, the clutch’s head doctor, has not yet mated and turns into stone during daylight hours. When he spots Caladon through a doorway, he’s quickly smitten by the tall, handsome shifter. Still, Leroy keeps his distance. He’d tried dating an African-American once before, and due to his family’s bigotry, it hadn’t turned out so well.

When Caladon suffers a shock, Leroy is called to help. His mere presence yanks Caladon out of his stupor, only for the shifter to declare they are mates. Leroy is unable to resist the siren call of the mate-pull, and he agrees to a date. He quickly discovers that his family isn’t the only complication…because at the time of Caladon’s kidnapping, he was still married. Mates or not, Leroy refuses to get involved with a married man.

Review: This was an amazing story. Each book in the A Paranormal’s Love Series focuses on a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, we recommend reading the series in sequential order. It keeps me from getting a bit lost in the stories and gives me an insight in to their world. A world that captured my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I love the way each character just mixes with the others. How fast they are to defend what is theirs and what they believe.

Caladon was a boa shifters without a home. Several years ago, he had been abducted leaving behind a wife and two-year-old son. Now saved, he was living among humans, gargoyles, and shifters. However, he always missed his son Taolma.

Finding out that his son was a live, shocked him so much that Leroy was called into check him out. Leroy was a nurse and when he had first seen Caladon in human form he was in lust. Quite a different change from the first time he saw him in his shifter form. A twenty-foot boa would frighten most people. He wanted Caladon but he was afraid. His family had a problem with him being gay, but they would give him trouble for being in love with a black man.

Caladon would do everything in his powers to keep his mate and it would seem his mate would do the same for him. This is a cute story that I absolutely loved. Charlie always gives you characters that come off as someone you would want to meet and hang with. She would give you men that you would fall in love with. This story will capture your attention from the moment you start reading it and will keep it all the way to the end. I loved the way it just flows off the pages.

This is a world that I would love to be in. I would recommend reading this story because it gives you not only two sexy men, a boa shifter but also excitement, passion, quirky friends and a touch of danger.

Blurb: Out of the Cage: Sometimes, when something seems too good to be true, it isn’t.
When wolf shifter Yates Cruner helps save several humans from a dingo shifter pack using them as slaves, he doesn’t expect to find his mate among them. Oh, not one of the humans, but one of the surviving dingo shifters who has been beaten and abused just as much as the humans. It seems the dingo pack had one rule…I’m more dominant than you are. I can do whatever I want to you. Yates realizes his little mate has a long road of healing ahead, and most of it isn’t for physical wounds.
Aryen Fowles learned his place early in life, keep his head down, kneel at the other shifter’s feet, and do whatever they ask. If he did that, he could avoid being punished. When a group of strange shifters takes over the pack, the rules change. Aryen struggles to understand what’s expected of him. When one of the wolves offers him pleasures he’d never experienced before, he wonders if he could accept his offer at face value or was it too good to be true?

Review: This is book twenty-three in this series and they need to be read in order. It just makes for a better series when you do, although you can read them separate it is just easier to follow. It gives you a sense into their world and might give you a lead into who each character is especially the alpha’s. Yates is a wolf shifter who has been searching for his mate for quite some time. His alpha loaned him to another alpha to recognize some humans being held by dingo shifters. What they found were not only were the humans being used for slaves but also several of the dingo’s themselves. Including his mate Aryen.

Aryen was so used to knowing his place, that it would take some time for Yates to show him that he has a long road of healing to go through. Aryen had been tortured and raped over the time that they had him. He knew to keep his head down, kneel at the other shifter’s feet, and do whatever they were asked. When Yates saves him, Aryen doesn’t know what is expected of him.

They have a long road ahead of them, especially when one of the human females wants Aryen dead. She just won’t get it through her head that he was a victim also. Yates will do everything in his powers to keep his mate safe. Aryen has to learn to live again, to live free with a mate who loves him. You can tell the way they are together that there is a lot of love in them. There is even a hint of kink in this book. Even though Aryen is not a sub and Yates is not a Dom, you can see that there is just a hint of it.

It is an amazing book, although most of Charlie’s book are. She has a gift that just keeps on giving. A way to bring you into their world’s with just a few lines in a book. I am very glad to add this book into my library. I can guarantee that once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down till the very end. It is the perfect length to me, not to short and not a complete novel. I can sit down on the couch, with my legs tucked under me, a soda on one side of me, and the radio playing and just read this book. I loved it and I cannot wait till the next book comes out.

Blurb: On the Road: Sometimes intervention comes from the most unexpected places.

Having been married at one time, over a century before, Luc Laurent never expects to find another to spend his life with. His confusion is understandable when his son hands him an extra helmet and tells him to hang onto it. Luc understands later that afternoon when he rolls his motorcycle to a stop in front of a fellow shifter’s home and discovers that the shifter’s cousin, Dylan Sudderson, is his mate. While the fact that his mate can walk only with the aid of crutches concerns Luc, it’s certainly not the deal-breaker. Dylan seems to think it is. Luc is far more concerned about the fact that Dylan is human, so very young…and in the closet. While Dylan is more than happy to get physical with Luc behind closed doors, he’s afraid of losing his parents if they find out he’s gay.

What will it take to convince Dylan to not only come out of the closet, but also accept that Luc shares his spirit with a European Eagle Owl?

Review: This is book eighteen in this series and they need to read in order. It will help you get to know the characters of each book and give you an insight into their lives. I have always loved Charlie’s books. She has one amazing gift at telling a story. I hope she never stops either. I always have loved the paranormal world. It gives you a fantasy that you can lose yourself into every time you pick one up. When it comes in a romance, it is even better. You will love Luc and Dylan.

Dylan was injured pretty badly by a drunk driver and since he was human, he wasn’t healing as fast. He was interested in guys, but was afraid to tell his family. However, that changed when he met Luc. Luc is everything he ever wanted in a man, and he wanted him more than he thought possible. However, he was afraid of what his parents would say.

Luc knew he wanted his mate. From the first time, he not only seen him but also got his smell. He knew that there might be some trouble but he definitely wanted him. Now all he had to do was figure how to tell him that he was a shifter. He turned into a European Eagle Owl.
Talk about a sweet and hot story. The sex is tender and very loving. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I loved it, but then again with Charlie it is usually a given. This book has everything you ever want in a story, love, sex, danger, excitement, two hot men, and adventure.

Portia’s Two Cents: I love this series, but I was a little disappointed with this episode. Luc is to die for hot, and I’ve been waiting for him to fall, for a few books now. Dylan would not have been my choice for him, but hey…I’m not Fate. But, my biggest disappointment was the lack of action. Charlie has a way of weaving romance with action, like nobody else, and I missed that in this title.

Review: This is part of a series and they should be read in order. I have always loved Charlie’s stories. She gives you a story that you will not only fall in love with but also want to hear more of them. The characters she gives you are compassionate, loving, and gentle although they have a temper no one would want to mess with. They are also very protective with their mates.

Roland had been a prisoner for over twenty-five years. He was in his Iberian lynx form shown off as if he was a pet. When he was taken at the age of fifteen the people who had him had castrated him. He was terrified and felt ashamed for what had happened to him. It was a time where he had met a gargoyle by the name of Vance. When Vance had been rescued, he had lost his memory, but once he got it back, he sent out help to rescue the young lynx. When he was brought to the clutch of the gargoyles, he found his mate. Although he didn’t know it at the time, because of what had happened to him his body was still like a child. He didn’t recognize the mating bond. But he knew that he wanted to be with Tobias.

Tobias knew right off the bat that Roland was his mate, and at first, he didn’t understand why Roland didn’t realize it. However once he was told what had happened to his mate, he knew he had to be extra careful and tenderer with him. He wanted his mate though. He knew that he was falling in love with him. When danger showed up, his molting happened knowing that his mate was in trouble. He would do anything and everything in his powers to save his mate and keep him safe.

You can feel the love that everyone has for their mates. I wished that human’s had that ability. It would be amazing to have someone care for you so deeply. I loved this story and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. Charlie has a wonderful gift and I am so glad to have her books in my library. If you love the paranormal worlds, two hot and sexy men, shifters and gargoyle’s, danger and excitement you will love this books. It offers all of that and so much more.

Review: This is book seventeen in the Kontra Menagerie series and they should be read in order. Charlie always gives me an amazing world to lose myself into. She gives you characters that you will fall in love with and want to cheer on. Although this particular book didn’t really make me jump up for joy, it still gave me a great read.

Kai had been raised by his aunt and uncle most of his life. He knew he was a platypus but didn’t know of any other shifters. So when he got his tail stuck in a trap he was surprised to be rescued by shifters. Taken back to their pride and pack lands he comes across Dorian. Dorian is a shifter but not like his. He also claims to be his mate. Never knowing that much about what he was he let Dorian explain some of it to him, especially the mate part. He was a bit scared but he knew that he wanted this alpha.

Dorian was close to two hundred and fifty years old and had always wanted his mate. He also knew that he had a long way to prove things to Kai. He knew things would not go perfect but he knew that he could love his mate with all of his heart. You can tell that their sex lives are always going to be heated up. It is funny that they can watch someone have sex, but they are very jealous when another sees them naked. I love how they connect with each other.

I would recommend this series to anyone who loves different types of shape-shifters. This one gives you a platypus and a California condor. Two sexy men, lots of hot sex, and a lot of action comes real handy for me. I loved this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to end.

Review: This is part of a series and should be read in order. I love Charlie’s books. She always gives me a place to go when the real world gets hard to manage. She gives awesome characters and a wonderful world to lose yourself into. Edwin was a scientist, who did not experiment on shifters just rats. However, he works for the government and everyone knows the governments always lie. Byron was a wolf shifter and he was meeting with some government agents to come to some sort of agreement that the paranormal world will always stay secret. They would help with certain things, but that was all.

That is until Edwin and Byron meet, Byron can tell from Edwin’s scent that they are mated. However when he finds out that Edwin is a scientist he rejects his mate, only to realize a few hours later that he has made one hell of a mistake. His sister had been experimented on and he hated scientist, but it was his sister who had told him he was an idiot. He has a lot of making up to do with his mate.

When they find out that not all of the rats were actually rats but some of them were shapeshifting Edwin fears that Byron will leave him. Like I said, Byron has a lot to make up for and one of them is making Edwin fear this. And we all know what making up is like, very hot sex. Charlie always gives you the right amount of sexual tension and sex in her stories, but not so much that it is all you read. She gives you a great story line that has danger in it, touching scenes that might make you pout or cry, the love of two men who sometimes make you want to smack them and just all around great read.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves hot men, paranormal love stories, wolf shifters, hot sex, and a bit of twist and turns. I love how each of her books have some similarities but they have their differences that will make you smile and laugh. I can never get enough of Charlie’s stories. I also can’t wait for the next book of this series to come out.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order. Charlie has always been one of my favorite authors and she has never written a book I did not love. This story is another one that is going into my library of favorites. She gives you characters that you will fall in love with. Ones that go through harsh, painful times and shows how they overcome all of those odds to turn into wonderful men who love with all their hearts. Vane is a gargoyle that has gone through hell to be saved by his clutch. He was found by a boy as an egg, and then when he hatched he was sold to freak show. Where he was tortured and caged. He didn’t trust humans until he meets his mate Matthew.

Matthew had learned about gargoyle’s when his brother met his mate. Now he finds out that the one who helped save his brother was also his very own mate. He had enough love in him to share with his mate. He wanted to heal his mate in ways that showed his love. Even when his mate leaves him to save some other shifters from the same fate he had lived, he goes against him and helps him save his friend. When you see them together, you want to do everything in you to cheer them on.

I love how this story is told. It shows the pain that Vane went through, the love that Matthew feels for Vane, the friendships of others, and how everyone is willing to jump in and help. It also shows two very hot and sexy men, amazing sex, and the fire each has for the other. I would recommend this story for anyone who loves shapeshifters, paranormal love stories, amazing characters, fantastic sex, and the way everyone can overcome all their anger and pain and the abilities to overcome all of it and turn it into blessings. I loved this story and cannot wait for the next book in this wonderful series.

Blurb: On the Road: Sometimes, learning to get past your own problems, means focusing on someone else.

As an orphan, Chip had never really had a home or even much to call his own. After being adopted, he’d hoped he’d found acceptance. Unfortunately, a year later, he shifted into his bobcat for the first time and his new parents had thought him possessed. Forced to run, Chip lived mostly as an animal for decades. Having grown up alone in foster care, it hadn’t been much different and he hadn’t thought it too bad…until the day he’d been captured and tortured by scientists. Rescued by Kontra and his gang, Chip finally sees the light at the end of the long, lonely tunnel of his life. Scarred, malnourished, and suffering from panic attacks, Chip struggles to get his body and mind back under control. When the gang visits a pride of lion shifters, Chip meets Grimes, who claims they are mates. Can he manage to get past his hang-ups and grab onto the happiness Grimes offers him?

Review: Once again, Charlie has written an amazing story that I love. She has such a gift at story telling that I will always buy her stories no matter what. She has a way with characters that you can’t help but love them and cheer them all the way.

Chip is sweet, innocent in pack ways and mating, tender-hearted, and scared to death of crowds. Kontra and his gang had rescued Chip from scientist who was cruel and hated with a passion. He just wants to get over what had happened in captivity and his mate. Grimes is a lion shifter, wanted by many of the females of the pride but only interested in a certain bobcat. He has found his mate only to realize he had to go slow and tender with the little cat. He is strong at will and heart, tender and caring with his mate and loved by many. He wants to protect his mate with everything in him even if it meant his death. The sex between them is hot and fierce.

This story has an amazing story line that has pain, anger, danger, excitement, and love throughout. I have always loved the paranormal and when it comes with two sexy men loving one another, getting through the past problems and finding a way to go forward makes the story even better. I can see myself sitting on the couch, my feet tucked under me with the light on besides me and loosing myself in this story more than once. It was amazing and I loved every minute of it. It captured my attention from the start and kept it to the end. I would recommend reading it, but you should start with book one in this series to get the full context to everyone. I can’t wait to read it again. I also can’t wait for the next book of this series to come out.

The out and proud man makes Brendan start rethinking his choices. When problems in Randy’s life force the man to make some tough choices, will Brendan’s insecurities make him walk away? Review: I have always loved Charlie’s books and this was definitely a pleasure to read. In all my life I have come across those who have told their families that they were gay, some were disowned, and some were lucky. It saddens me to hear about those who say they love their children but when they are told about their sexual orientation that love is thrown out the window. I was so pleased about the exact opposite in this book.

Brendan is a coach at the local high school and even though he was gay, he never came out never had relations with any men. He is very caring and tender but comes off as an alpha if you ever met him. Randy is a paramedic and is very out at work, to his family and friends. He is just as adorable and loving with just a bit of mischief it would seem. Even with Brendan’s insecurities, he wants to make a go of a relationship with Randy. He wants it all. The sex is very sweet, caring and so dang loving you just want to blush with the feelings. I absolutely loved this story. It was told with such a way that you would think you are there with them going through it all. You would cheer them on with each step they take to making a life as a family.

This story comes off so true and real, because not only there are men that go through it all around you but also because of the way, it is told. I cannot wait to read it again and I do hope that there will be more about this couple in other books.

Review: This series is best read in order to get the full effect and knowledge of who the characters are.

I have always loved anything paranormal, and when it comes in a sexy romance, it is even better. Richard had known the Alpha was his mate two weeks prior and hides it trying to protect his mate. With the help of Richard’s brother Crain, Abbott meets his mate and tries to understand why Richard didn’t let him know. He knows however that he will do anything and everything to have his mate beside him for all times. Richard comes very close to being the perfect man although as you know full well, men are not perfect. He is hot and sexy with a touch of hero in him. He loves with all of his being. He is loyal and dedicated to those he considers friends and family. Abbott at first comes off kind of arrogant and bossy but if you look closer you would find that it is just an attitude because he is very caring and is the truest alpha one would know.

The story line is absolute perfection and I loved every inch of this story. It had my attention from the first sentence and kept my attention all the way to the end. The sex between Richard and Abbott is so hot that you will be fanning yourself. It is tender and caring also with just a bit of learning mixed in. It has a bit of humor mixed in with a little seriousness.

I have always loved this series and Charlie made another perfect story. I would definitely be reading it over and over.

Review: Marty is a human who is attracted to Raymond, even after following him one evening and finding out he wasn’t human.

Once again, Charlie Richard’s has written a book that I knew I would love to have in my library. It is a magical story told in such a way that makes it beautiful and enticing to a reader. I have always loved romance stories and paranormal romance even more. This book has the perfect plot, with love, danger, excitement, and wonder.

Marty is tender and very loving, even though when he is in one of his mood of grumpiness. Raymond is charming, caring with a heart of gold, but he is also scared of his mates reaction to him being a gargoyle. The sex between them is just like them tender and so full of desire and heart. The danger placed on his mate, has Raymond scared, and wants to protect him with everything in him.

When you start to read this story, you will fall in love with Marty and Raymond right off the bat. Raymond comes off really shy and you can’t help wanting to route for him right off from the start. It was well written, with a little twist to the ending as far as their mating goes. I enjoyed this book as well as the whole series and I love having it in my library for future reading.

It is a little shorter than I would have liked and wished it did have a bit more to it, but I loved it all the same.

Review: I have always loved Charlie Richards’ stories, but this book made me remember why. Most of the time her stories come off humorous and a bit quirky, and this book holds true to form. This story line and plot always keep me thinking, what’s gonna happen next. I could not put the story down and till I read the whole book.

I loved that Sebastian tries to always follow the rules of the council, but meeting his mate, a very human mate made it entirely different. At first, Dirk’s misgivings about Sebastian puts in a little crimp into Seb’s plan. But once he comes to realize his mistake, the gloves are off. They are so caring with each other, and the sex is very hot. Dirk’s fear of shape-shifters, has him fearing all paranormal. But, the way Sebastian treats him, makes his heart pound and his palms sweat. I loved the tenderness Sebastian shows Dirk.

This is a type of story, that you would just want to sit down in front of a fireplace holding your book, sipping wine, and relaxing. It has its humor and dangerous parts to the story. I love having this story and can’t wait to re-read it over and over again.

And at first, every time they talked they seemed to argue and Cornelius runs. Then the past came back and Cornelius needs to save his sister from his ex. He just prayed Einan would care enough and forgive him to come save him. Review: I have always loved Charlie Richards’s stories and this was no exception. Xavier was four hundred twenty-seven years old and wanted a mate. Owen was a detective and very much in the closet. So much so, that he had never been with a man before. Yet, he wanted Xavier at first sight. The only thing that worried Xavier was how to introduce him into the vampire world. During the kidnapping of his leader’s mate, Owen got introduced real fast. However, he realized that no matter what, he wanted to be with Xavier. The sex was amazing and the fact that he had bonded with Xavier, Owen knew he would have to tell his family. Xavier was worth coming out.

This story was fast told, but the story line was really good. I would read it more than once.

Blurb: Into the paranormal world: A man’s idea of good and bad can be put to the test at the most unexpected moments.

Maelgwn, leader of a clutch of gargoyles in Durango, Colorado, only planned to be in Stone Ridge a few days to help a fellow gargoyle’s mate through laying their first egg. His plan to leave changes when he scents his mate in the hospital. He discovers his mate is Bobby Truman, a human who has no idea the paranormal world exists, even though a number of his friends are shifters. Maelgwn begins the arduous process of watching and waiting, searching for that perfect opportunity to make contact with his mate.

Bobby Truman is tired of his boyfriend, Seth’s, abusive friends, especially when Seth doesn’t do anything about their antics. The broken nose, compliments of Seth’s buddy Grant, is the final straw. When he’s attacked by muggers and rescued by a mysterious stranger in the dark, Bobby hopes it’s the opportunity he needs to make a clean break from Seth. Even if it doesn’t work out with Maelgwn, maybe Bobby can keep his new love interest’s attention long enough to prove to Seth they are really done.

Bobby thinks it’s odd that Maelgwn won’t come into the light, always meeting him after dark, but he’s nowhere near prepared for the truth when it finally comes out.

Can Maelgwn convince Bobby that the things that go bump in the night aren’t always bad and to take his place at Maelgwn’s side in a paranormal world? Even when that means uprooting his life and moving?

Review: I absolutely loved this story. It is a wonderful start to a new series. Charlie Richards has done gargoyles before, but Maelgwn and his crew are fresh and sexy. Readers first meet Maelgwn in Book 14 of the Wolves of Stone Ridge series, Gustav’s Gargoyle Adventure. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16121818-gustav-s-gargoyle-adventure

This book is very funny and sweet at the same time. Just the kind of thing I’ve come to expect from Charlie Richards. I love the tender moments that Maelgwn and Bobby have. At first Maelgwn was afraid to let Bobby know what he truly is, a gargoyle. When Bobby does find out, it was an accident. There is also a bit of suspense thrown in, which is nice.

The sex between the two is very hot and passionate. They have a little bit of problems to work through, but love shines through. I never laughed so hard in my life. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Review: This is a wonderful series to read and lose yourself in. The paranormal world is a dangerous world to live in, but it is worth it when there is someone who loves you so much, that he would give you the world. Seth’s introduction into Adalric’s world is not good, he is running scared, but there is this bond he feels for Adalric. The bond of a mate. Adalric has to have great patience waiting for Seth to give in and love him back. I wish this book had a few more chapters to read, but would read it more than once.

s real quick to a whole new set of evils in the world. He can’t figure out why Adalric continues with his overtures of friendship, especially when he’s been nothing but rude and cold to the guy. After all, Seth wants nothing to do with a vampire.

Adalric insists that Seth must go with him to his coven, and he uses the guise of marking him as taken—making him off-limits to other vampires—to finally sink his fangs into the human. Even though Seth finds great pleasure in Adalric’s arms, when the truth of their relationship comes out, will their fragile bond withstand the tension? Or will it snap, sending Seth running?

Review: As much as I’m attracted to paranormal stories, and yes, the vampires do hold an exquisite appeal, I’m not fond of an unchallenging plot as was the case with this one. The shallowness here was almost boring.

A Vampire coven leader finds his beloved (mate). His mate has been introduced to the paranormal world through violence and is now utterly afraid of any creature non-human. The Vampire seduces and misleads the human to get him on his grounds. The human throws a fit, and before our eyes, everything magically changes as “the bond” does its thing. Of course, to heighten the intensity, there is the bad Vampire there as well who attacks his Master’s beloved in order to throttle the Old Master and take leadership for his own. But true love prevails and Happily Ever After occurs.

I was utterly put off from the magic changing of feeling on Seth’s part. So unchallenging for Adalric, the text implication that he was wondering how to woo his beloved went out of the window in a matter of a few pages. Why couldn’t there have been more depth between the lovers? Why couldn’t there have been something in their personality, the chemistry needed to make the declaration of love credible? Why Fate is implored all the time for a feeling that is supposed to grow, evolve, and overrule all other? Would it be so hard to put the pair through some work toward that goal?

I don’t know, everything about this plot – the romance and the action – was so blasé, so been-there-done-that and read-one-read-em-all, that I found no real enjoyment in this. I simply want more and this book was found lacking for my tastes.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Jason leaves home and sets off for his uncles when his stepfather goes too far and hits him, he has put up with verbal abuse, but the violence is too much. When Jason arrives at his uncle Raul’s he is pleased when Raul welcomes him with open arms and discovers that Raul has a male partner and that most of his friends are gay, it makes him feel safe. Michel is living up in the mountains putting distance between himself and the town. While visiting his packmate Raul, he discovers his mate. And as he gets to know Jason, disaster strikes and Michel has a lot of explaining to do.

This is a good addition to the Wolves of Stone Ridge series, but was a bit of a letdown, as well. Michel has been around for a long time and is happy to have found his mate, but his mate Jason is a lot younger than him and he isn’t sure how Jason will react to being his mate. Jason is hoping to be welcomed by his uncle Raul (Choosing His Christmas Miracle) but fears rejection, but meeting his uncle and his friends eases him and he jumps at the chance of a date with the sexy mountain man. Just as things seem to get interesting between them, strange visitors drag Jason into a world Michel hasn’t had a chance to inform him about. Just as Jason seems to have wrapped his head around it all a misunderstanding happens that nearly drives them apart.

While I did enjoy this story I found it to be a little strained, as though everything that could happen has happened and it was a strain to come up with something new. Jason’s predicament with his stepfather seemed a convenient excuse for Jason to visit his uncle; I mean suddenly after years of knowing that Jason is gay his stepfather starts to verbally abuse him and then hits him. It was pushing the boundaries of reality a bit. When I first started reading the story I thought Jason must be around eighteen but he was twenty-two, but really came off as younger. Another thing that was a bit unbelievable was when Michel was thinking about how he had removed himself from the human society, so he can reappear in the future with a new name. Living a long time can cause problems and the only hope is that he will be forgotten. But, ten years really isn’t that long and unless all the town members have really bad memories then someone would recognize him.

But, saying all that, I have a soft spot for Charlie Richards wolves. Jason and Michel are one hot couple, and while they have misunderstandings and a bit of danger, it is a nice little story for them. The conclusion to the mad scientist plot was a fizzle, which really surprised me, after all the effort that has gone into that storyline both with Wolves of Stone Ridge and Kontra’s Menagerie; I was expecting something a lot more explosive. I still enjoyed this story though but not as much as I have the previous books.

I recommend this to those who love shifters, hot sex, and new characters, a touch of shock and danger, misunderstandings, hot making up and a very happy ending.

Review: Ryan used to work for scientists that had convinced him shifters were bad and not sentient. He found out after a while that they had lied and he regretted his life and agreed to help Kontra free the captive shifters at the compound. When Ryan arrives immediately, a shifter grabs him. He didn’t know what to think especially when he found out Sam thinks they are mates. Both men have secrets that could affect their decisions.

This is actually the thirteenth book in this series and my first. I can say it stands well alone. I do however want read the other books to find out more about the other men.  The characters are interesting though you don’t learn much about any of them; not even the main ones. The story line of the rescue is good but a bit short, but the romance between Sam and Ryan was amazing. I usually grimace when the first meeting is yelling Mine, etc. Ryan’s reaction and reluctance really made it much easier to swallow and both characters were so likeable I was rooting for them from the beginning.

I recommend this if you like a fresh take on shifters, a fast-moving romance, some actin and some sweet loving sex with a satisfying ending.
