Review: This story ties directly into the Asphalt Bay Series and it is recommended that you at least read books 1-4 before starting this one. I will admit that I read this one before I read the first book in the Asphalt Bay series. I did it backwards.

Joel left his pack to form a new pack with him as alpha. He is married with a son, but they are not fated mates. Which is what is missing from his heart. With the help of his men, he locates some vampires held by a cruel scientist. He needs to see if the coven near him will take them in.

Alistair is a very old vampire but he only looks like he is in his twenties. I wish I had that power. When his second comes in, he scents his mate off of him. Then he finds out his mate is married with a kid, he is set to die without letting Joel know. Too bad Joel’s wife has something to say about it, she has found her mate also. Wow now she is a kick.

When I first started reading I almost put it down thinking that this was a m/m romance with a female added in. So thank god I went ahead a kept on reading. Now this is one of those instant love and sex kind of books, which doesn’t appeal to me very well. Also the author made them more human then paranormal, in the fact that she actually makes the alpha seem weak. Which is not a good idea also. What saved this was the fact that it was funny as hell. I got a kick out of it, but I do hope this author doesn’t continue with the weak alpha part. It makes it look a bit off in a way. I still had fun reading it and can’t wait to see what the next book will be like.

Review: Declan is being forced to mate and take over the alpha position in his pack. He doesn’t want to settle down, or at least not without his fated mate. To bad for him he just doesn’t have the time. So he settles with making a peace pack with the neighboring pack. Mate with one of his daughters for peace. That all ends on the night of his last night of fun party.

Liam is a very powerful demigod who works for the council. He is what is called the fixer, but almost all of his fixing ends in death. His real name is Lykos, but Liam seems to fit better. One night of fun leaves him with a fated mate. But with one phone call and Liam hearing it wrong, he leaves. Now some ass needs to be kicked.

I read this story after I read another book that is connected to this series. I have to say that even though this book was funny as hell, it also has some big problems. It comes off as a very rushed story. The alpha or soon to be alpha comes off very weak and not at all what an alpha should be like. Also a true demigod would not offer help even after he thought he was not wanted. It sounds wrong from the start. The chemistry felt like it was being forced, the story flowed way to fast and the dialogue was off.

The next issue is it went from party, to sex, to pictures and a broken treaty. The author left out quite a bit of that information which would have made the story more believable. Also you bring in a fixer to find out who took the pictures is not what I would think would be an acceptable thing for a killer. It really could have been done without this in the story.

Now even with those issues, I actually found myself having fun with it and can’t wait to read the next book. I just hope that it is written better. There is great potential.

Review: Dimitri is the guy you go to when you need a loved one ready to bury. He is the magic of the place, not really he is just that good. He is a Komodo dragon shifter who keeps picking out the wimps to date. That is until the brother of one of his bodies shows up. Miles is a very sexy lion shifter who just so happens to be in the closet. Now he has been sent with his sister’s body to get her ready for her funeral. Creepy is how it sounds, but hey these two are mates.

Ok for one this story was a blast to read. The parents were a hoot and gave me a good laugh. Now when I came across this author, which was this morning, I read two of her other stories. The words were similar and so were many of the practices in this book as in those other books. Which tells me this author focuses on certain things. Which is neither good nor bad, but makes the books a bit off to me.

The editorial part of the book was off, there were many mistakes that could be found in the book. The idea for the book was exceptional, but this author needs better betas who should have caught the problems. Also there was no conflict in it, it was like being programmed to say yes and cool all the time. Too happy from everyone in the end. No real chemistry, just instamate and instasex from the moment they met.

Now for all those issues, this story does have potential. I actually had a blast reading it, but it really needs to be fixed up to make it better.
