Review: Keith works to help contain the Infecteds, his brother disappeared several years ago and he was the last person he figured he would run across on the job.  Secrets are exposed.

I really liked this story a lot. Even though it has brother sex, it was well written and emotional, not sleazy. I felt for both of these men. The only issue I had was its very short and doesn’t really have a lot of Information on the Infecteds, or the brothers past.  I’d love to read a full-length novel on this story. It’s pretty interesting.

If you like, shifters, werewolves, brotherly love and a good urban fantasy this is for you.

Blurb: A dozen years after discovering his father’s suicide, Cale returns home and finds his older brother Derrick showing the same signs of melancholy. But as much as he wants to help his brother, he fears being sucked back into that world he’d fought so hard to escape. Ultimately, the solution takes the two down a path they never thought they’d tread.

Review: I had a bit of trouble getting into this story. It was well written, but I wished it had added a little bit more to the story line and plot. Fair warning though, this is about two brothers who love each other, but have trouble with their feelings. There is a lot of pain and anguish here but there is love between them. Derrick is sweet and tender-hearted but he is dealing with a pain so deep and depression. Cale is like his brother in many ways even bordering on depression.

The sex between them is tender and sensuous, but a little daring. It is a good book, but I find that it isn’t one that makes me want to read it again. I did love the characters, but I just think it should be more developed.

Blurb: After nineteen months apart, Brandon Patrell is convinced it will take more than a home renovation to keep his playboy brother, Ethan, from running away again. But as Ethan resumes his old mind-games, Brandon is determined to tease back for once, even if it means risking everything in a game of all or nothing

Review: This story was very hot. But fair warning it is about two brothers who are in love with each other. The only problem is Brandon didn’t know Ethan felt that for him. Each brother tries to come to terms with their relationship. The only problem with this story is I wish that it had started from the very beginning so that it leads you into why they feel that away. It has a great story line and plot, I just wished for more. Brandon is tender-hearted and full of love, but when Ethan had left, he had taken a part of Brandon’s heart with him. Ethan left Brandon confused but he knew that when he left he did so with a whole in his heart.

Ethan and Brandon are such wonderful characters with such personality and spirit. The sex between them is so very hot and sexy. I am not really sure how I feel about sex between brothers, but to tell you the truth this story rocks. I find myself looking for more love story’s like this. It is a great story.

Blurb: Though mortals have been convinced that God cares about their souls, nothing could be further from the truth. He created the world as a gift for his lover, Satan. But when Satan left him, he decided to end what he saw as his most grotesque creation.

Satan and his army of demons are man’s only hope…

The demon Kinzer and his lover, Janka, have been sent by Satan to spy on The Raze, a gang of rogue demons who are working with God to bring about Armageddon. When someone exposes their true allegiances, The Raze clips Kinzer’s wings and murders Janka. Kinzer manages to escape. He tracks down Satan’s allies to warn them about a mole in their midst when he learns that they’ve located the Antichrist—a powerful weapon that could prevent the apocalypse. Now, he’s on a mission to protect the Antichrist and avenge his lover’s death.

Review:    My rating for Clipped is based on the out of the box take on God and Satan.

Clipped begins with human trafficking; rape; kidnapping, and implications of all of this done – primarily – to the underage. (I am still unsure of one of the human character’s age 17 OR 18) Topping it all off with a flashback incestuous child sex abuse – all within the first three chapters and doesn’t stop there.

There are few books that make my hard to read list and most of those are based on plot holes and bad writing.  But Clipped made the hard to read list with only a one or two plot holes and some nice prose.  There are many parts the writer included in the story, while providing realistic and believable backstory, story, and so on – that make Clipped very hard to get through.

Very rarely does one come across a story full of Masochists (those who enjoy sexual gratification or the tendency to derive sexual gratification, from physical and/or emotional pain) and no Sadists (those who enjoy sexual gratification or the tendency to derive sexual gratification, from giving physical and/or emotional pain).  Yet almost every character in this tale is a Masochist.  There is no BDSM, no D/s within these pages.  Here there is only pain, abuse, rape, and torture being enjoyed by the victim.

This story could have been told with the inclusion of only half of the sexual scenes.  Many times the scenes were announced and predictable.  I will end my review here, lest I decide that I might have been too generous with this one, because I want to know what happened next in this adventure.  I just don’t want to have to read through all of the ‘unnecessary-to-plot’-ness to get there.

Blurb:   “I cover my lips with a thin layer of blue colour. I look at myself again.
A distorted figure on a white background. I am the one who doesn’t need it, the one who lives alone out of the House. I am the one who doesn’t have a name because it doesn’t matter, the one who doesn’t have a colour at the right place.”

Outskirts of Rome. An Okiya house in which seven boys live together as geisha; leaded by a transsexual Mama-san. They tell with their own words their love and how they sell away themselves..

Warning: Strong sexual content, violence and you will need tissues.  Not a romance or a HEA.

Review:  Geisha Boys is a very heart-wrenching poignant story of seven young boys plus their Mama-san and how they became rent-boys. I liked how each chapter began with a dossier (character profile) for that character, and then went into his thoughts.  The story has a lot of metaphors and is beautifully written; almost prose like.

I recommend it to anyone that likes something different with no HEA, very rough sex, BDSM, rent boys, Golden Showers, a good cry and a reality check once in a while.
