After a devastating break-up with the man he thought he’d spend his life with, Flynn Webb takes a holiday to a South Dakota dude ranch. It’s something completely different from anything he’s done before, and it helps that it’s as far away from his ex as possible. Trapped in his own depressive thoughts, Flynn is surprised to meet Grayson Harland. Not only is Grayson a sexy cowboy—one fifteen years younger—but he’s the most charming man Flynn has ever met.

Flynn doesn’t have much experience with being seduced, and he has even less with guys like Grayson taking an interest in him—and Grayson is definitely interested. What begins as a fling while visiting iconic South Dakota sights soon develops the potential for much more. But Flynn is afraid that falling in love again so soon—and with a man so much younger—will lead only to another catastrophic heartbreak. Luckily for them both, Grayson isn’t giving up without a fight.

Review: Most of my life was spent reading romance stories whether contemporary or paranormal, as long as there was a happy ending it was for me. Now lately I have come across stories about zombies and even though I love watching those kinds of movies, I have never really wanted to read a horror story. This author is also new to me, so I was doubtful on reading it. I have never really been one to try new things so when I was handed this story, you could imagine my expression.

Dallas and Raleigh were out on the town, enjoying their anniversary when it happened. When the world was overtaken by the dead. These two madly in love men were separated and had no clue if the other was alive or dead. Dallas went on to look for Raleigh, finding and rescuing people on the way. The only rule he had was that they were never to say a word to him about him looking for his husband.

Raleigh had been taken to safety by others, but had left behind his husband. He had no clue if Dallas was alive or not, but he kept a positive thoughts to that effect. Raleigh at one time had been a photographer and gentle as can be. Dallas was the one to take care of him and keep him safe. However as time goes by Raleigh has taken care of himself.

A year has passed and to their shock they find each other. However they have both changed so much, but their love has strengthened. It will take time. Now I must admit that if you are in a pretty good sized city, what are the odds that one man would be known by all those who they rescued. That was what was so strange about this. Overall this story is about the many people that have survived what has happened. You have your dumb zombies and then you have the souped up zombies, I will let you figure that one out.

This story is full of characters with different attitudes and some that are just complete asses. Not everyone will make it out alive, but there are a couple I wouldn’t mind seeing gone. There was one part of the story that had me in tears, but I will let you figure who it is. I loved Dallas quite a bit. Here is a man who is ex-military and his main priority is finding his husband. Now Raleigh is a different matter. He is very whiny and childish in some parts, pretty reckless and stupid in others. I think he has an offbeat attitude and I don’t much care for him. He reminds me of those books where the damsel needs rescuing. However that is how he comes off, it is not the way he is in some parts of it.

Overall I hated the cliff hanger and want to know what is going to happen. It drives me crazy when authors write their stories like that. I just hope that this one doesn’t make it to the end of the pile, because usually books with cliff hangers don’t last long with me. I hate to wait.

Other than that I was very surprised to find that I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one.
