For fifteen hundred years Lucan has waged war with the greatest enemy the world has ever known
…and fought the ancient curse that means loving someone with all his heart and soul might be the reason they die.
Tom wasn’t supposed to be born… twice.
How, as a young child, had he even heard the monsters at all?
How, as an adult, is he caught up in a deadly battle to fight evil, but cannot get one stubborn man to even acknowledge he exists?
Time is running out, not just to unravel the secrets of Tom’s destiny, but for Tom to show Lucan that loving someone with all that they have doesn’t mean breaking their heart.
Review: This is the second book in the series with Tom and Lucan as the MC’s.
I was blown away by the detailed explanations regarding clues about Tom’s heritage and the aspects leading up to his role in the events. The twists and turns just kept coming as I was immersed in a world where magic, knights, creatures and evil plots were front and center.
Lucan for his part kept Tom at arms length and as such Tom suffered and was taken at least once during the story. But Lucan always went to the rescue.
Tom is sweet yet determined to play his part no matter the risks. I found his ability intriguing and fascinating.
I am looking forward to reading more about the knights and seeing what happens when they find their other halves.
This is a magical story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Blurb: Cold Case Sergeant Ronan O’Mara wakes to a shocking midnight phone call. The body of a man killed in a shoot-out with the F.B.I. has vanished from the Suffolk County Morgue. What’s even more shocking than the missing corpse, is the identity of the second man apprehended at the scene. Mitchell Bond, aka, Tommy O’Neil was Ronan’s second-grade classmate and best friend until he was kidnapped in broad daylight, steps from his front door.
Even though psychic Tennyson Grimm hadn’t heard of Ronan’s childhood friend before now, he’s suddenly consumed by thoughts of the man. Thanks to Ten’s gift he knows twelve missing children linked to Mitchell Bond are alive, but he is uncertain of where to find them.
When Ronan is finally given the opportunity to speak to his long-lost friend, accusations begin to fly. Ronan is blindsided and begins to question everything he knew about Tommy, his kidnapping, and whether or not he could possibly have played a role in it.
While Tennyson races to put the pieces together to save the missing children, Ronan is forced to come to terms with a past he thought was long dead and buried. Can he set aside his own emotions long enough to put a stop to this deadly hunt?
Review: An engaging story about missing children, a best friend who is mysterious and of course Ronan and Ten. I liked the way the story evolved and flowed as the two men tried to figure out what was going on and what happened to the children.
The rest of Ronan and ten’s friends make brief appearances throughout. I enjoyed the story and all the elements that made it a satisfying book to read in the series. Mystery, suspense, drama and romance all played a part in bringing this story to a good end.

Dead of Knight
(Guardians of Camelot 02)

A battle is coming…
…and the immortal knights aren’t ready.
Will an orphan be the key?
For 1500 years, Lancelot has fought for good, now facing an evil plot hatched by Morgana hundreds of years earlier, he can’t defeat her alone. He must find the other half of his soul, but there is just one problem, he doesn’t know where to look.
Whomever it is, he’s sure they live in New York City.
The clock ticks.
Time is not on his side.
Mel has struggled since his father died when he was only a child. He’s had to do anything to get by and it hasn’t been easy. When a strange Englishman reaches out to him, with a story beyond belief, he has a decision to make. Follow his heart and trust him or run?
Can Mel and Lance defeat the greatest enemy the world has ever known? Or in the midst of fighting evil, will they discover the real threat has always been a shattered heart?
And what if the one fight they cannot ever hope to win is with themselves?
You’ll love this new look at the Arthurian legends, because of the twists and the romance you didn’t expect.
Review: Past and present collide in this astonishing new series as Mel learns this more out there than he knew. Lancelot saves the young man when he’s attacked by a vile evil monster. This sets in motion the two learning about each other and each facing difficult decisions while at the same time fighting their attraction.
I loved the plot and the way it slowly revealed different snippets of what was in the past while explaining what happened and why. Lance and his fellow knights Kay, Lucan, Ali, and Gawain have lived a long life battling an evil that overtook Camelot a thousand years ago and still battles them in the present. Merlin is a key player who made the knights immortal with an exception that they find the other half of their soul. If this person dies then so to will the knight.
There is so much that happens to make this an epic story with fabulous twists and turns that enable a slow understanding of what is going on and who exactly are the good and guys. There is a great cast of characters that bring the story to life and dangerous situations that have you on the edge on your seat as you are immersed in a story where the good struggle against insurmountable odds.

Blurb: All Vance Connelly ever wanted to do was continue his family’s tradition and join the Tampa Po-lice Department, but his dreams were crushed the day he woke with the enhanced mark on his face. After years of struggling to adjust to life as an enhanced human, by a stroke of luck, he met Talon Valdez and became a proud member of the FBI’s Human Enhanced Rescue Organi-zation.
Samuel “Angel” Piper is eager to leave his DEA undercover work behind as he joins the HERO team as Vance’s regular human partner. But Sam’s painful past is ever present, just below the surface of the life he has built for himself as an ambitious young agent. When the team investi-gates rumors of a new drug using enhanced blood, the case’s mysterious connection to Sam threatens not just his life but Vance’s.
Trust doesn’t come easy for Sam, but Vance is willing to fight to convince his partner that the strength of his heart might be the salvation they both need.
Review: Strength of His Heart is book 4 of Victoria Sue’s series, Enhanced.
Before I started this audio, I hadn’t realised that I hadn’t realised it was a series, but a couple chapters in when it finally clicked to me, I was too invested to stop and get to the other three stories. I was able to follow the plot without any problem, although I am sure that I missed some points when it came to some of the background characters, they were well developed and fleshed out by this point in the series, but again, nothing that I couldn’t piece together in my head.
This book is the first book I’ve read/listened to by the author, so I had no idea what to expect in terms of the writing and the depth of the world that had been created. However, I am very familiar with the work of Nick J Russo, the narrator. Normally, I have heard him perform contemporary books and I have found that he is well suited. But this book is best described as an urban fantasy. I was totally blown away by how well he narrated the story and conveyed the complex emotions of the MCs. Both MCs are tough, alpha type of males, however, one is a gentle giant and the other is a scrappy guy.
The series is called Enhanced after a group of people in the world who have been ridiculed and discriminated against because the men (because it’s only men) that are “Enhanced”, known for the scar on their face after transformation, develop powers which the rest of humanity can’t understand. I suppose it’s a kind of parallel to the LGBTQI community. I’m not explaining the enhanced very well, but basically think of Marvel’s X-Men but it’s only men. Some enhanced can mind speak, some have super strength, some have healing – you get the point.
Vance and Sam are partners in a special FBI taskforce. It aims to team up human and enhanced partners in order to show the world that the enhanced aren’t monsters to be scared of.
Sam is ex-DEA (and has a past which is revealed through the story) but soon after partnering with Vance on the FBI team is back helping the DEA for another mission. Sam was good at his job in the DEA but he wanted so much more. He wanted to be in the FBI and didn’t want to be dragged back into the DEA. He has been used of protecting himself and being pushed around by people bigger than him, so when he is teamed up with Vance, despite sexual attraction, Sam isn’t going to let Vance take control.
Vance has always wanted to be a cop – it’s in his family to serve in the Tampa PD, his father is now the lieutenant, one of his brothers is also a cop, while another is also with the FBI. But Vance always wanted to be a cop, a choice that was taken away from him when he woke up as a teen, enhanced and with the scar to prove. While his parents and siblings have always been supportive of Vance, there are many opportunities and people in the world that do not think of him as human because of his abilities. The man has such a big heart and all he wants to do is help people.
Vance is a very sweet man and extremely vulnerable under his tough exterior, while Sam is tough and knows only how to keep up shields to keep himself safe from any kind of affection. There is an attraction between the two men, but with the danger of their ongoing case which involves drugs and added is the mystery of how enhanced have been dragged into the situation, things are often left on hold. As the danger increases the feelings also increase and Sam can’t help but keep putting his foot in his mouth to protect himself. Which, honestly, had me a tad emotional for poor Vance who wears his heart on his sleeve.
I absolutely adored this book. The chemistry between Sam and Vance is on point, their emotions are complex but relatable. The secondary character, some of whom have already had their own book in the series, are equally as deep and complex as Sam and Vance, even the two guys who have been set up to be the next couple of the series. The world that Sue has created is an adventure from start to finish. Now, I need to go back to the start of this series and find out about the other guys!
Blurb: When Cold Case Detective Ronan O’Mara enters a charity Strip-A-Thon on New Year’s Eve will he nail his sexy performance or will he just get nailed by his psychic husband, Tennyson Grimm?
Blurb: Since the death of his former partner, Tony Abruzzi, at the hands of mob boss, Vito “The Dragon” Dragonni, Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara, has been a shell of his former self. Other than working his shifts at the police station, Ronan is going through the motions of life. The once vital and active cop is reduced to binge-watching trashy shows on Netflix to cope with his loss.
Psychic, Tennyson Grimm, has a secret he’s been forced by the FBI to keep: Tony Abruzzi is alive. Barely eating or sleeping as he tries to cope with the guilt of keeping the truth from Ronan, Tennyson knows it’s only a matter of time before his friends stop buying the lies he’s telling to explain his restless nights.
When Tony appears to testify at Vito Dragonni’s trial, all hell breaks loose. Accusations fly about who knew Abruzzi was alive and why it was kept a secret from Ronan, who’s been struggling to come to terms with the “death” of a man he considered a brother.
Focusing on keeping their loved ones safe and bringing Dragonni to justice for his crimes once and for all, one question remains: Will Ronan be able to forgive Tennyson for lying about Tony’s death?
Review: Both Ronan and Ten struggle with their emotions throughout this story. They both feel guilt and hopelessness at the situation. As the story progresses we see them pull together and be there for the other in their time of need as well as seeing the other characters in the series make appearances.
It did not have quite the appeal as the other stories in the series to me but it was still an enjoyable read never the less. The final arrival of their bundle of joy was a bonus that added a happy note to the book.
Blurb: 1418, Wales: Hunter Conroy, the youngest in a family of powerful demon slayers, is captured by the evil warlock Osian. Young Hunter is given a choice: join forces with his enemy and kill his own family, or be cursed to live through the ages as a stone gargoyle. Once a century, Hunter is released from his prison, and tempted with the chance to build a life for himself. At the end of a decade of freedom, if Hunter does not choose to become one of Osian’s minions, he is again remanded to the cold, lonely rock.
Fast forward six hundred years, and Hunter finds himself in Salem, Massachusetts. He has forged a quiet life, knowing that at the end of this latest cycle, Osian will once again return, and Hunter will decline his offer. He is content to live out the last few months of this round alone, until he meets Walker Harmon.
ER Doctor Walker Harmon had expected to be married with children by now, but so far has been unable to find the man of his dreams. Hunter Conroy sparks his interest until he sees the handsome tow truck driver throw a man across the room without even touching him. When Hunter reveals the source of his powers, telling Walker that his days in Salem are numbered, it’s a story beyond belief. Realizing he’s in love with this cursed man, Walker is willing to risk everything to fight for Hunter.
With time running out, Hunter amasses a dream team of witches, psychics, and a mysterious wizard to help him break the warlock’s curse. Will their combined powers be enough to free Hunter, or will the gargoyle reclaim him for another century?
Review: I loved this story of Hunter and Walker. Hunter is forced to become a gargoyle after declining to help an evil warlock Osian. Once a century Hunter is free for ten years. Now six hundred years later Hunter finds himself in Salem. He makes quite a few friends with a variety of paranormals. Upon meeting Walker Hunter finds himself hoping.
This was an amazing story. I loved all the characters, the history and the plans. It’s my favorite in the series so far. The crew from Cold Case Psychic was an added bonus. My heart went out to Hunter for all the things he missed out on while trapped.
Blurb: Boston Police Captain, Kevin Fitzgibbon thought he’d found the missing piece of his heart when psychic Madam Aurora prophesied the love of his life was philanthropist, Jace Lincoln. After spending months as on-again, off-again boyfriends, the pair are off again, perhaps for good, leaving Kevin distraught and grumpy.
Jace Lincoln is still trying to put his life back together after Fitz dumped him on Valentine’s Day. While getting back into the swing of things with a new man, a drunk Fitzgibbon barges in on their date like Godzilla destroying Tokyo. Listening to Fitz carry on about how much he misses what they had together makes Jace wonder if they still have enough of that old magic left to try one last time.
Through a series of dates ranging from ridiculous to right on the money, Fitz and Jace reconnect and find that the things keeping them apart might not be so insurmountable after all. Deciding to give their relationship another try, they start planning a bright future together.
That future is stopped dead in its tracks when tragedy strikes at a party celebrating the tenth anniversary of Jace’s homeless shelter. Will Kevin and Jace survive to begin a new life together or have they lost their last chance at happiness for good this time?.
Review: On and off again boyfriends Jace and Kevin decide to try their relationship one last time. There are laughs, sweet moments and tender scenes. The cast makes appearances throughout this story as it plays out.
I was happy for Jace and Kevin.
Things were not smooth sailing but they seemed to work through it together with the help of friends.
Blurb: Spellbound bartender and Salem State biology major, Luca Pennington, has recently developed a rather disturbing allergy as a result of volunteering for a medical trial in order to supplement his tuition. It seems spending even a second or two in the sunlight causes his skin to blister and burn as if he were being exposed to an open flame. Then there’s this pesky need for AB negative that has him breaking into the school’s medical department late at night to satisfy his odd craving.
Salem Chief of Police, Cisco Jackson, is dealing with budget cuts the only way he knows how, by working double shifts. Getting a call out to the local university on one of these overnight shifts, he finds a sexy young man drinking blood from a medical lab fridge. Not wanting Luca to continue his thieving ways, he makes the young vampire an offer he can’t refuse: Eat me!
When the rookie vampire refuses to feed from the veteran cop in a Meals-On-Wheels-with-benefits exchange, things really start to heat up with Cisco threatening to arrest Luca if he catches him stealing blood again. Luca’s response to the sexy, older cop, “Catch me if you can!”
Are Cisco and Luca fated mates? Or is the blood song that calls to them both a Siren’s Song of destruction?
Review: Interesting story about Cisco and Luca. Especially how Luca became something more than he bargained for. I loved how these men both traversed through the journey in figuring out what happened to Luca and who was responsible.
It’s a great story with twists and turns and the returning characters as well as new ones. Intriguing and well written this book takes the reader on a journey of sorts into a world full of the unknown to some.
Awesome book that captivates you as you delve further in the story. Great read and addition to the series.

Review: Oh my god this story was so good. You have Vance and Sam who are partnered in the Enhanced team. Both men have issues that are similar but yet different. They are on a case of drugs being used with enhanced blood. An undercover mission reveals sinister goings on and it’s up to the team to stop it. Sam sends Vance mixed signals due to his past and his hang up with large guys which is to be expected. Vance is a gentle giant and understanding.
This series just keeps getting better and better the further along it continues. I love how each investigation is well thought out and written. New and old characters are always intertwined with twists and turns that have edge of your seat, nail biting results with action scenes that have you holding your breath awaiting the outcome.
It’s one of my favorite series to date as I simply adore the enhanced in this series. I am so looking forward to reading more especially with the way this story ended.
Blurb: Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara is stunned to see the breaking news that a well-known mobster he helped to put behind bars, Vito “The Dragon” Dragonni, has been released from prison after his life sentence is overturned on a technicality. When prominent members involved in the original case against The Dragon start turning up dead, Ronan starts to wonder if he’s next.
Psychic, Tennyson Grimm starts having visions of dead men with The Dragon’s signature kill shot: two bullet holes to the forehead. The men in the visions are strangers, but when he learns from an undercover agent that Dragonni has compiled a hit list with Ronan and his ex-partner, Tony, at the top, he fears a day will come when he recognizes the murder victim in his vision.
Tony Abruzzi has been a broken man since the tragic death of his adopted son, Mark. Refusing the offer of protective custody until Dragonni and his hit squad are off the streets, he seems to be daring the mobster to come after him. Despite the fact that they’ve been estranged since the case that cost Tony’s son his life, Ronan decides to stick to his former partner’s side as his personal bodyguard, whether Tony wants his help or not.
Can Ronan and Tony find a way to work together to stop The Dragon before he can cross more names off his hit list or are both detectives dead men walking?
Review: Two me on the outs find a common goal and come together to stop a crime figure they thought was finally behind them. I loved this story.
Intense emotions and scenes culminate in a suspenseful ride into a dangerous situation where Ronan protects his ex partner from the Dragon before the Dragon or his men can eliminate Tony like his son was.
I do not want to give away too much of the story in this review. I love that despite Tony and Ronan’s estrangement these two work together once again. The Dragon and his men are no joke when the bodies start piling up it gets scary quick.
Intense and fast paced this story will have you on the edge of your seat awaiting the outcome.

To protect and serve…. All Vance Connelly ever wanted to do was continue his family’s tradition and join the Tampa Police Department, but his dreams were crushed the day he woke with the enhanced mark on his face. After years of struggling to adjust to life as an enhanced human, by a stroke of luck, he met Talon Valdez and became a proud member of the FBI’s Human Enhanced Rescue Organization.
Samuel “Angel” Piper is eager to leave his DEA undercover work behind as he joins the HERO team as Vance’s regular human partner. But Sam’s painful past is ever present, just below the surface of the life he has built for himself as an ambitious young agent. When the team investigates rumors of a new drug using enhanced blood, the case’s mysterious connection to Sam threatens not just his life but Vance’s.
Trust doesn’t come easy for Sam, but Vance is willing to fight to convince his partner that the strength of his heart might be the salvation they both need.
Blurb: Gael Peterson has spent years hiding behind the enhanced abilities he wears like a mask, even though he is an important, confident member of the FBI’s exclusive H.E.R.O. team. The hurt and betrayal of his mom’s abandonment and his father’s fists are secrets buried deep beneath the ugly scars on his face, and he doesn’t trust Jake, his new, regular human partner, with any of them. In a world where those with special abilities like Gael’s are regarded as freaks and monsters, it won’t be easy for him to rely on Jake to have his back, especially when the abilities of a vulnerable, nonspeaking, enhanced child make that child a murder suspect.
Tempers rise, and loyalties are challenged, and when the serial killer targeting the enhanced finally sets his sights on Gael, not only will Gael have to trust Jake with his secrets, he might have to trust him to save his life.
Review: Oh my god! I totally lurve the great big strong damaged hero with a super soft heart and the need to be dominated. I now think Gael is my favorite Enhanced World character. Scarred, damaged, big tough man on the outside…..I just want to hug him and squeeze him and make him my own. But alas, we need a good match for Jake. Jake, the ever patient. Victoria has shown us her softer side, her lovey dovey underbelly, and then she throws us into the mire with a serial killer!
As for the love scenes, oh yeah, that big tough guy goes down hard and begs for it, Jake is ready to give him everything he needs. Yeah…let me get some ice water…..
Once again, good mystery, lots of action, a bit of gory goodness, and lots of tears and melty hearts.
I knew it…figured it out in the first few minutes….but the web was well spun anyhow. I enjoyed figuring out how all the pieces fit together for the unsub. I also enjoyed the super ooey-gooey lovable ending to Gael and Jake’s story. I may need to see the dentist now.
I love this entire series, and I am always impressed with Nick J Russ’s narration…..the man has mad skills!
Blurb: No one is more surprised than Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara when he answers his doorbell one night to see members of Salem’s Wiccan community standing on his doorstep with an unbelievable story to tell. According to them, members of their coven are being murdered in a modern-day witch hunt and they want Ronan to look into the matter for them.
Psychic, Tennyson Grimm is skeptical of the witches’ claims. After the initial investigation turns up ordinary deaths in car accidents, house fires, and by suicide, Ten feels that the witches’ suspicions, are just that: suspicions. His sixth sense is not giving him any clues that these are anything but untimely and tragic deaths.
When another witch dies mysteriously, Ronan turns up the heat on the Salem Police Department to investigate and finds himself in an unusual position: in hot water with Fitzgibbon and his husband. Suspended from the Boston Police Department and abandoned by his family and friends, Ronan goes rogue, conducting the investigation on his own.
Uncovering an insidious plot with roots reaching back to the Salem Witch Trials, Ronan must battle a force so evil, it has managed to stay hidden for centuries. Without the power of his badge or the backing of Tennyson, does Ronan have the strength to survive something that hunts in the dead of night?
Review: After several witches contact him concerning mysterious deaths Ronan takes it upon himself to solve the case. Tennyson does not believe they are murders given the circumstances of the deaths. This causes a rift between Tennyson and Ronan.
I loved the way the story flowed and the history aspect that spanned back to Salem witch era. It was fascinating the way the case evolved and revelations revealed that put the guys in several past lives. It was an amazing journey to read.
The investigation had me on the edge of my seat as the culprit was slowly revealed. I was astonished at how well the story came together in an exciting conclusion that had me on the edge of my seat. Best book in the series in my opinion.
Professor Avery Cook has spent his career researching the mysterious side of New Orleans. Superstitions, legends, and lore—Avery has an academic explanation for all of them….
Until one night when he walks into a bar and his life changes.
In a sea of impossibly beautiful people, Tyson stands out, and he sweeps Avery off his feet with his old-world charm and romanticism. But there’s a darkness in Tyson too, and Avery discovers Tyson is part of a world he thought existed only in books and stories—the paranormal tales he studies at the university.
Tyson’s been lonely for a long time, and he’s falling in love with Avery. But his past is a long one, and it’s full of enemies and danger. The best way to keep Avery safe is to push him away….
Review: Kiss Me Forever is a book by MJ O’Shea as part of the Dreamspun Beyond line. MJ O’Shea is one of those authors I’m familiar with, I’ve read a handful of books and have at least enjoyed most of them.
The story is about Avery Cook, he’s a college professor and has achieved a lot on the professional front by the time he hits thirty. Avery meets Tyson and Tyson knows that he must have Avery. Tyson is an old world romantic and very lonely. He wants Avery but with danger stalking him he doesn’t want to see Avery harmed and decided (as any male romance hero does) to push him away. The paranormal element of this story is that Avery is human, while Tyson is something. He’s basically immortal, has been around for a number of centuries and has to drink to stay alive/young (essentially a teetotaling version of the philosopher’s stone).
To be perfectly honest, I really struggled with this book.
While I enjoyed it enough to finish the book, I was left feeling, well feeling just meh. The story just didn’t grab me from the start. It’s just that certain aspects of plot felt a little flat and contrived to me (I wasn’t sold on the whole mystery and the villain’s reason for being). Which is weird because this type of book I’m usually all over like white on rice.
All in all, the actual romance is sugary sweet, but the sexual chemistry and tension just wasn’t quite there. Being set in New Orleans is somewhat predictable but I liked the imagery that O’Shea provided with her descriptions. Since I’ve enjoyed MJ O’Shea in the past, ultimately I was left feeling a little disappointed, which I really hate to admit, but hey, this is an honest review.
Blurb:Â Talon’s deadly abilities are spiraling out of control. Desperate to keep Finn safe, Talon struggles to protect the man he loves with all his heart and not become the greatest risk to Finn’s life.
Finn has no choice but to offer himself as bait for the evil forces kidnapping enhanced children, facing danger he is untrained and unprepared for, and he will have to do it alone.
Does Talon have one last fight in him? Will he slay everyone who wants to destroy Finn and the team, or will he finally discover that to defeat their enemy and the ultimate threat, the biggest battle he has to face is one with himself?
Review: We now have a tighter team with the H.E.R.O’s of the Enhanced World. But as Finn fights to carry his own weight with the team, Talon fights against his own fears and constantly jumps in to protect him. You can imagine where this puts strain on a newly formed relationship.
What I enjoyed about this book the most was seeing Finn develop stronger friendships with other team members. The author gives us a broader picture of not just Talon but Vance, Gael, Sawyer and others.
There’s a mystery, action, detective work, missing kids, and plenty of tension both sexual and emotional between Finn and Talon again. We learn more about different team member’s enhanced abilities and that Talon’s is changing, and he’s uncertain about his own control over it. When the story comes to it’s climax we’ll find out if Talon is truly as strong as Finn believes him to be. Talon will have to learn to give all his trust to the love of his life, his very life depends on it.
Victoria Sue also does sexy-times with flair and plenty of passion. I’m never disappointed, though I could always beg for more.
Nick Russo’s narration is smooth, varied voices for each character, and has great emotional attributes throughout. Did I mention I REALLY like his vocal characterization of Talon. Mmmm-mmmm, good!
If you enjoy the X-Men/Thirds kind of world building you’ll love Five Minutes Longer and the entire Enhanced World series by Victoria Sue! Hold on tight, you’re in for a ride and an all-nighter!

Blurb: Despite having had a rough life, Seth has a big heart. After spending nearly ten years sleeping rough on the streets of New York, he’s managed to get himself freelance work and a place to live. But his new found security is about to be torn apart, as the horrors of his past come back to haunt him in the worst possible way.
Dante was sent to watch over a young Seth when his mother died. As an angel, he had many rules to follow. The most important of which was to never fall in love—especially when it involves a human who is your charge. For the last ten years, Dante has kept his feelings for Seth hidden. That is until the night Seth’s past catches up with him.
When Seth is murdered, their destinies are changed forever. Feelings and emotions come to the surface, but will the rules that govern the afterlife keep Dante and Seth apart for eternity, or will they be able to find their happily ever after together?
Review: Seth is a kind and caring young man who helps the homeless anyway he can. Dante is an angel tasked with looking after Seth. There are rules about not falling for those in your care so Dante keeps feelings to himself. Seth witnessed a murder and caught it on his phone.
The man responsible, the doctor, finds out and kills Seth. Seth has decisions to make after his death about what he should do. I found that interesting as most books dealing with the afterlife do not give the character a choice immediately after death so I was intrigued.
The whole story had my attention from start to finish with characters that made the story enjoyable to read. I am looking forward to the addition in the series and seeing what happens next.
Hold on tight, you’re in for a ride and an all-nighter!

Blurb:Â Talon Valdez knew when he transformed into an enhanced human, his life and his dreams were finished. Reviled, mistrusted, and often locked away, the enhanced were viewed as monsters, despised by the public, and never trusted to serve in the military or any law enforcement agency.
Years later he gets a chance to set up a task force of enhanced to serve in the FBI, but with one proviso: each enhanced must partner with a regular human.
Finn Mayer dreamed of joining the FBI from the time he was fourteen and made every possible sacrifice to make it happen, including living with his selfish mother and bullying, homophobic brother and never having a boyfriend. But his undiagnosed dyslexia stopped his aspirations dead in their tracks. His last chance is to partner with Talon, an enhanced with deadly abilities who doesn’t trust regular humans with their secrets and wants Finn to fail.
Four weeks to prove himself to the team. Four weeks for the team to prove itself to the public. And when another group threatens their success—and their lives—four weeks for them to survive.
Review: I really wanted to hate Talon. The team got on my nerves and I felt the anxiety Finn carried on his shoulders as he charged bravely into the unknown world of this new enforcement agency, mixing the worlds of the enhanced and regular humans like himself. These tensions are exactly what Victoria Sue wants to build up in us while we read and listen to her beautifully spun story. When those tensions do finally burst, flames erupt, physically and metaphorically. Action packed, all emotions, and sizzling hot sexual encounters build this loose knit team of talented if frustrating hooligans into a functional team of heroes with strong bonds.
Nick Russo’s narration is great. I really like the voice he has for Talon..mmmmmm, so fine! Narration is smooth, varied, and has great emotional attributes throughout.
If you enjoy the X-Men/Thirds kind of world building you’ll love Five Minutes Longer and the entire Enhanced World series by Victoria Sue! Hold on tight, you’re in for a ride and an all-nighter!
Blurb: Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara, has set sail on the honeymoon of his dreams to sunny Bermuda. He’s looking forward to a week of fun in the sun with his husband, Tennyson, but nothing is going as planned. From a fight between Truman and Carson that’s threatening to break up their marriage, to Captain Fitzgibbon’s on-again, off-again lover not showing up to meet the ship, to dealing with his always challenging mother-in-law, to frenemy, Jude Byrne, showing up with a suitcase loaded with sex toys and lube, Ronan has all he can do to stay sane.
Psychic, Tennyson Grimm, is on the ship to work as well as honeymoon. The cruise ship line has hired him to be the “celebrity” on their celebrity cruise. In between private and group readings reuniting family members with those who have crossed over, Ten is running himself ragged attempting to put the pieces of Truman and Carson’s marriage back together and trying to keep Jude from horn-dogging after the ship’s captain, all while trying to squeeze in a few stolen, passionate moments with his husband. He isn’t having much luck.
During the return trip to Boston, Ronan and Tennyson are enjoying a performance of Murder Mystery Night staged by the ship’s crew. When the crewmember playing the murder victim turns up dead for real, Ronan and Tennyson must set “fun in the sun” aside when the ship’s captain allows them to investigate the crime.
Putting the clues together, the Boston detectives corner the cagey killer who takes someone close to them hostage. Can Tennyson and Ronan save the day before they end up dead in the water?.
Review: Ronan and Tennyson are all set for their honeymoon and the whole gang is going. As with most plans things do not go as smooth as they liked to. Problems and miscommunication arise between certain characters that cause tensions as they set sail on a cruise.
I loved how the story was written and showed the struggles that of the characters involved. There is a mystery to solve near the end but most of the book centered around how the characters handled their issues with one another and showed how at times that all was not lost.
Another interesting instalment of the series as the reader tags along for an emotional cruise with the whole crew.
