Blurb: War is looming, and as the alpha, it falls to Dante to protect his shifter pack from the hybrid creatures spawned to prey upon them. To that end he joins forces with the Nephilim Odin in the hopes of keeping both their people safe, though past slights and animosity between the clans continue to cause strain. Attacks on the packs and Nephilim clans increase, and the seemingly endless army of hybrids will not stop growing. Dante knows their only chance to put an end to the carnage is to find the nest where his twin August and August’s mistress are creating the hybrids.

With entire cities being destroyed, Dante must call upon the pack weave to find the people who have been captured—and the nest. Dante and Odin gather an army for an all-out attack. Though a desperate and risky move, Dante has been backed into a corner and he sees no other alternative. It’s a battle they must win at any price, because the cost of losing will be catastrophic.

Review: I have to say this second installment was brutal in its intensity. The packs and Nephilim join forces to stop a mad woman, Evaline an ancient Nephilim and august from creating more dangerous hybrids. The making of the hybrids is horrifying. Though those being attacked have no idea how it is being accomplished as the hybrids are neither pack nor Nephilim but something in between dead set on killing anything in their paths.

Odin a Nephilim is at the head of the fight to destroy the mistress once and for all as she is his sister who went mad and had been put to sleep many, many years before. With Dante and the other Alphas help he hopes to end things before it gets out of hand. Unfortunately things go from bad to worse before they can locate the nest as many pack members are taken captive during a hybrid rampage that devastates all.

Dante along with others attempts a rescue but things do not go well at all. I was in tears by the end of this story with the enormity of loss that had happened. I admire an author who has no qualms about killing off main characters when it suits the story. It was truly a magnificent read. Such devastation and sorrow for all involved.

I think what bothered me and had me scratching my head in confusion was August’s actions toward the end regarding his mate and son. I did not understand his actions to a point and I most definitely did not understand why he could not sense that Collin was still alive after the explosion. I mean he was an Alpha and as such was connected to his pack with a link. So it confused me why he did not know the child was still alive at the end.

I am highly anticipating the next installment to see what else happens in this riveting and heart stopping series. Full of suspense, mystery, chaos, devastation and action this book will immediately grab hold and not let go until the very last word.

Highly recommended.

Review: Dante has been abused by Caster for most of his youth and made into a killer. He has been through things most would have died from. Alpha Victor steals him away and shows him there are other ways to live.

Dante is a man who struggles with nightmares from his past but guidance from Victor turns into an exceptional man. His talent is rare as he take away an alpha’s strength and give it to someone else. His twin August was left behind when he fled. In my opinion August is lost to him now.

Jesse is a stray. Strays are seen as abominations as they sometimes go mad. Jesse is anything but mad. He is also doing something extremely dangerous. If found out he could be killed. Jesse loves Dante with all his heart. When things come to pass he knows he must warn Dante.

Caster is a cruel, evil, despicable man. I truly hated him and the things he did. He ruled by fear and pain. The things he and his pack did to others were heart-breaking. This man causes chaos wherever he goes. August works with him as they have secret plans of their own to accomplish by any means necessary. They will take out anyone in their way.

What does Caster want? Dante back of course. A wonderful story from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I was horrified by the lengths these men went to to get what they wanted. By the end of the book I wanted the story to continue.

There is a romance but yet not the focus of the story which I liked. Dante has to make sure Caster does not hurt anyone else when the man comes for him. There is action, drama, horrifying scenes and a wide range of characters that keep the reader invested in the story.

This is a new author for me and I will definitely be reading more from them. Highly recommended.
