Review: Devin, a human, meets Bastian, a Degan, while working at a space station. The sparks immediately between the two and after spending some hot, passionate time together Bastian disappears.

This book grabs your attention and keeps it from to finish. The details about Bastian’s race were intriguing as well as the visual details of his awesome home world.

There is a conspiracy in this book that Devin is dragged into. I did not like what the unsanctioned lab did to him after they kidnapped him. Horrifying tests and abuse until he was finally rescued. The main suspect actually surprised me. But the others involved with him did not.

Space chases, suspense, mystery, action and a powerful romance that remains even in the face of danger and uncertainty. Highly addictive and action packed, this book was a fantastic read.

Absolutely loved this book.

Highly recommended.

Blurb: The adventure continues in this action-packed sequel to The Degan Incident!

Dr. Aron Adler is ordered to take part in a rescue mission to a research colony located on an uninhabited planet in the outer rim. He is to immediately report to the U.S.C. Cassini, which will take Aron, two other scientists, and a unit of Union Marines to the colony. Once there, they are to assess the situation and retrieve any data or specimens.

Formerly a scientist in the Union Navy, Aron was dishonorably discharged following a court-martial for failing to obey orders. Stepping foot on the Cassini brings up old feelings he would rather forget. Shunned by the crew of the Cassini, Aron finds comfort in the arms—and bed—of Marine corporal Kane Robertson.
Upon reaching the colony, it becomes apparent that not everything is as it seems.

Once again, Aron is faced with a difficult decision: follow orders or follow his heart.

Review: Dr. Aron Adler, the one who was consulted and alerted the Degan’s about Devin’s kidnapping in the first book, is tasked with a dangerous mission along with Marine corporal Kane Robertson, a bio engineered soldier. From the start these two are attracted to one another.

Even though Kane has been pre-programmed he has his own feelings. Nothing is as it seems when they arrive at the research facility. They run into dangerous situations throughout and some of the men with them end up injured.

This book is action packed and intense from the start. I could not stop reading it until the very end. Edge of your seat situations and detailed battles along with the blossoming romance between Kane and Aron made for a fantastic and intriguing read.

I love this author’s books. He writes awesome stories that stick with you long after you’re done reading them.

This series is one of my favorites as it gives the reader a little of everything, romance, adventure, action, intense situations and places that intrigue the reader.

Highly recommended.

Review: This was a damn good story that I had a blast reading. I just wished that it was longer with more to it. I absolutely love Rob Colton. He gave me a story that had a cute, young guy with a big bear. It was a hot and very sexy story. This story is mainly sex but damn it is good. I do wish that it had been longer with more of an actual story to love, but it was good.

Hayden is at the bar for his brother’s birthday. He hasn’t been there before but he takes one look at the guys there and he is over heated. There is one guy though that has his eye and that would be the bartender. Rex is not just the bartender but the owner of the bar and a restaurant. He is always working and even his pal has made a comment about how he needs to get out. He didn’t think anything about it till Eli’s points out Hayden. Damn he has found the boy for him.

I had a kick with this story. It was fast, to the point, sexy, hot and to damn short. It made for a great read. I can see myself reading it more than once.

Review: Well this one is definitely a little bit different from the ones that I normally read, however it was pretty good. I loved the mixture of cultures and characters. It has a great story line, one that has lots of humorous situations and serious ones. I loved the way Thomas and Jamie mix together.

Jamie just wanted to find his brother Rudy, but he wasn’t getting anywhere in Czech Republic. Everyone seemed scared of answering his questions. Then he came across two people who were not so nice. However, Thomas came to his rescue and was enticed by Jamie. It would seem Jamie could not be tranced and that was quite a catch among the vampires. Jamie loved his brother very much to the point of quitting his job and selling his home. He is genuine, caring, compassionate, and a bit quirky. He is cute as can be and has a heart of gold. Thomas is not only a vampire and a prince, but also pretty much a vampire cop. He was strict, tough, and very sexy. He had also decided that Jamie was his mate. The sex between them is hot, sensuous, and full of passion.

Rob is an amazing author who can give you a great mystical world. A world that you can lose yourself into when times get rough. The characters have their strengths and weaknesses that compliment the other person. The overcome the challenges that are set in front of them and come out winning. I loved the way it all came together. It was just not long enough for me to absolutely love, but it came pretty close.

Blurb: When Madison “Matty” Ward finds himself out of work and without a place to live, his cousin comes through with a job on the Gates cattle ranch. Despite not knowing anything about herding cattle or taking care of horses, Matty does his best to impress the older hunky foreman, Baxter Hollingsworth. Baxter is drawn to the new young hand, but he’s deeply closeted, and after an openly gay veterinarian shows he’s interested in Matty, Baxter’s repressed feelings lead to an explosive encounter. Baxter then withdraws—leaving Matty feeling angry and used—until an accident forces him to confront his fears.

Review: I start reading this story and the first impressions are quite good. As I progress further into the plot, those impressions keep getting better. The characters described here are not only charming and appealing, but they have a raw feeling, a certain depth that real people do. Yes, that is what I kept thinking while reading this story.

Matt and Baxter were very realistically portrayed. The closeted cowboy, his reactions, how he would go after Matt when he’s had a drink or two and his inhibitions were lax, and how he would shut down when he was sober, how he would ignore and avoid the young man when in public. All that had a very real and everyday taste that made me love the first three quarters of this book. The chase and pull between them, the hungry need displayed from Baxter, and the fear that need caused, it was all pretty well written.

But then the book took a U-turn and went from realism to surreal in the blink of an eye. All the hesitation and resistance the characters pulled during the entire read changed at the end as if by magic. One accidental even that had Matt nearly seriously injured made Baxter change from a behavior nurtured his entire life and come out, claim Matt publically. I suppose the book would have to end like that, but I can’t stomach the “I love you’s” that spilt like lighting and the entire sappy emotions that followed when the two men didn’t even have the opportunity to know each other, let alone develop such intense feelings for each other.

In addition to those unreal declarations, there were other feelings and emotions “told”, that were not showed in the plot. I missed that connection with Matt’s bosses. How it happened it was lost in translation. The fact that Matt suffers a violation, aka rape, and the offhand way he deals with it, and the transition from detached to friends with the rest of the farm hands. It was weird seeing the leaps that happened and literally affected the read, all the while missing that effect on you. The only palpable feelings I got from this read was the lust and need the pair of men had for each other during the first half of the book.

Bottom end, I was seriously put off from the way the end occurred. While I loved most of the writing and the best part of this read, the last quarter of it simply knocked that all down. However, I’m known to be picky. Some other person might say the end was pretty romantic and “awww” inspiring. Could be, and while it was not the case for me, you might feel differently about it. Because while this was not a great read, it was definitely not a bad one either. Do give it a shot if that little last tidbit doesn’t bother you.

AppearancesMatterLG2nd EditionDumb Jock: Book Three

At age sixteen, Todd Hoffman is a social outcast. He lives with his mother in a rundown mobile home and doesn’t wear the nice clothes or drive fancy cars like the other students. He has one outlet: he secretly writes fan fiction about a boy falling in love with another boy he’s crushing on, and posts it online.

When Galen Caulfield, Todd’s real life object of affection, notices him and asks him out, Todd feels like he’s living his fantasy. Soon enough he realizes that fantasy and reality are two very different propositions.

Galen is the high school soccer team captain, clearly out of Todd’s league. On top of that, he’s popular, good-looking, and confident, so everyone thinks he’s straight. Now it’s up to Todd to decide whether Galen is the boy of his dreams or just another dumb jock.
