Review: This is book two in this series and you need to read it in order so that you will have a clue on what is going on.

Xeno was raised by two fathers and one mother. So when he started his relationship with five gorgeous men, he thought he would have no problems. However, he was very wrong. First, his sister goes off on him, which shut him down just a bit. Then when he went home to visit his family, his fathers were just as bad.

Niko talks Xeno into going home to see his family. Rex is the head of their fae family, but they all have equal parts in the relationship. So since, he was more easy-going he thought that it would be easier for Xeno if he went with him. What he had not expected was for Xeno’s mom to be something of a legend in the fae community. The only problem they had was, no one had bothered to tell Xeno anything of his heritage. No one had told Xeno that he was fae.

There was dangers coming, they can all feel it. So they decided that all of them need to get back to the Vineyard and have the discussion they knew was needed. Xeno had to know what dangers were coming.

The only problem I had with this story is it left me hanging. It basically left Xeno without any ideas. I am not really sure if I like this series or not. So I will wait for book three to see if it gives me any other ideas. I made the mistake of not reading book one so I started to get lost at the beginning not knowing who everyone was, but I caught on really quick. I did like the story just didn’t like to be left with more questions than answers.

I would definitely be recommending this story to anyone who loves ménage and multiple partners. This story had five hot men who love one another, some amazing sex, and lots of great feelings in it. You really got to read it.

Blurb: To find a family heirloom a man must ask for help from another who he has been fighting his attraction for. They join forces and find that they have more in common than either expected.

Detective Hunter Montgomery finds himself personally involved when a family heirloom is stolen. To find the culprits of the robbery ring he has to approach Brooks-the one man who pushes all his buttons. He is attracted to Brooks but knows he’ll never go after him, since they’re looking for different things. They form an unlikely alliance to track down the heirlooms. As they work together, Hunter can’t figure Brooks out. The man comes across as if nothing bothers him, yet when Hunter asks for his help Brooks not only agrees he becomes more to him than Hunter expects. As the case gets more complicated, so do his interactions with Brooks. The need he feels flares and Hunter is unable to resist the temptation of Brooks. As the heat between them rises, so does the danger in the case they both want solved.

Brooks Walters is willing to work with Hunter even if the man doesn’t like him. Since their first meeting, Brooks has gone out of his way to antagonize the usually infallible detective. Each and every time the man gets annoyed and rude with him, Brooks finds it is more amusing than anything else is. There is something about the tall, sexy detective that he finds irresistible. Hunter has all the things he likes in a man-he’s loyal, protective and is able to match wits with Brooks. When the case he is working on with Hunter heats up so does their passion. With each new clue on the robberies, it becomes apparent that the case is more complicated that either of them had known. Brooks will go out of his way to make sure the man who has slid into his life will succeed in their Wicked Alliance.

Review: This is book two in this series and you really need to read book one. It gives you a heads up on the characters and you will love it more.

Hunter and Brook had met when Hunter came to find out who had shot at Brooks best friends brother. Let me tell you these two fought like cats and dogs when they first met. Seems like a good foreplay to me. I loved the way they act together. It will give you a good laugh. Brook calls Hunter idiot when he is mildly irritated at him and detective when he is royally pissed off at him. This actually means, for most part, he calls him detective. They are always going at it. This makes it even that more heated up.

Hunter has really taken a liking to Brook. He even liked the way they argued, just made everything hotter. However, he knew that deep down this was a man he would want for all times and it was returned in spades. These two men get together and they set the sheets on fire. In this story Hunters mom’s jewelry and a clock were stolen when Brook had sent them out. Hunter goes to Brook to ask him for his help and actually gets more than he bargains for, but at least he gets his man.

He gets his man for life and he is happier with it. They both are stubborn and mule headed but you can tell that their love will be deep and strong. I love this story almost as much as I loved book one. Talia gives you wonderful characters in all of her stories and she never disappoints you. She has a wonderful gift at telling a story and will always be one of my favorite authors.

I would recommend this story to anyone who loves hot and sexy cops, gorgeous military men who own a gallery, two sexy men coming together for all time, lots of danger and excitement. Not to mention the love and sex so full of passion it will make you fall in love with everyone.

Review: Gabriel Ashby is content with his life, or so he thinks. He has a long time live in girlfriend and he’s a successful detective with the local police force. Now sitting in an interrogation room across from Crime Boss and all around bad guy, Angelo Pagan, he feels something for this man that he’s never felt before. Weeks later and Ashby can’t stop thinking about Angelo Pagan, but he stuffs those feelings down deep, attempting to ignore them. Until he is shot in an ambush, by none other than Angelo Pagan. The bullet is a clean shot with no chance of seriously hurting Gabe, well, other than his pride.

Angelo Pagan has been living life in a fog since his sister was murdered at her birthday dinner. And then he spent a miserable afternoon being questioned by Gabriel Ashby, now he can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous cop with the mesmerizing eyes and curly dark hair. When one of his men stumbles on Gabe at a raid, Pagan steps up and shoots Gabe rather than allowing his man to do it knowing the gunman would surely kill the cop.

While recovering and off duty, Gabe’s girlfriend moves out, something about him being emotionally absent. He too is now living life in a fog, not even realizing that one crime boss is watching his every move. Soon enough Pagan makes his presence and his interest in Gabe known. Gabe tells himself this is a mistake, Pagan is a mobster, and he is a cop, not to mention Pagan is a man. But the attraction will not be denied and the two begin an unconventional affair that seems to be doomed from the start. Making an agreement to keep their affair and their jobs separate, they quickly learn neither one of them will be able to follow through with that. Can Pagan keep his associates from finding out about Gabe? Can Gabe separate the man he is falling in love with, with the mobster crime boss that Pagan is when they aren’t together?

This story is all about the raw sexuality that is shared by two men who are complete polar opposites, but can’t seem to keep their hands off each other, among other things. The writing was gritty, as were some of the characters and the storyline. Pagan truly is a murderous gangster with a heart, his goal is to get out of the business and get as far away from all the darkness as possible. Taking Gabe with him, of course. Gabe has fallen in love with the tall, dark, and brooding Italian with the long curly hair and golden hued eyes that seem to bore through his soul. But he has a hard time with these feelings as they go against everything it is to be a cop. He’s supposed to bring down the bad guy, not fall in love with him.

Narrated by Renard Pasquale and though this is my first audio with him, it won’t be my last. He transitioned flawlessly between the American accent of Gabe and that gangster sheik Italian slang that Angelo threw around. I was completely engrossed in this story between the writing and the narration. Multiple characters were woven into the story and first off, the author gave each one a veritable attitude. And then Pasquale carried that over into the audio book giving these men their own distinct voice.

Angelo and Gabe carry this raw, passionate sexuality as well that could not be denied. I would definitely recommend this audio book, and I cannot possibly imagine reading it on paper would be any less rewarding. My only complaint would be a bit of a weird transition for Gabe from being almost shy and inexperienced and then not ten pages later, he is taking the dirty talk and directing his lover to a whole new level. That was off for me, but overall this was one of the sexiest books I’ve listened to in a while.

Blurb: They’re going to need a bigger tent.

Henri’s list of bad exes is as long as his arm, but nothing prepared him for his latest, heart-stomping breakup. He thought he couldn’t feel more abandoned, until his ride for a group camping trip bails, leaving him stuck driving for hours with a guy who is absolutely not his type.

After breaking up with his girlfriend of five years, firefighter Logan is working up the nerve to explore his interest in men. He knows he’s gay. He just hasn’t had the guts to do anything about it…until now.

Henri’s big-city attitude and tight jeans push every last one of Logan’s buttons, and when he and Henri have to share a tent, Logan is thrilled. He should have realized Pacific Northwest weather would get wet—forcing them to strip naked.

Though the steam between him is thicker than coastal fog, Henri’s not sure he can let himself fall for another man. Not even the guy who finally treats him right.

Product Warnings
Contains bad ex-boyfriends, even worse weather, and more than your average amount of sex in a tent. May not be suitable for those with germ phobias, outdoor aversions, or fear of damp shoes.

Review: This is part two in this series but you should start with book one. Although it can be read as a standalone book. It was a lot better than book one and I am glad for that. It was told with a bit of humor and seriousness to it. I am actually pleased with it. It still has a very small bit of homophobic people to it however. This one was more about a jerk of an ex who slept around on Henri.

He even told Henri that he had a STD that he shouldn’t worry about but maybe should get tested anyway.
Logan had broken up with his long time girl friend because he knew that what they were was wrong. He was completely gay and needed to live his life to the fullest. Now all he had to do is figure a way to meet men. He wasn’t old enough to go to the club’s so he was kind of clueless. However when his friend and coworker invited him to go camping, well what does a boy from Texas say but agree to go. It also might have something to do with the hottie that was friends with his coworker. And that said hottie was going camping also.

Henri almost bit his tongue off when he saw Logan, but he comes across as an ass to Logan. He is scared and you can tell it by the way he acts to Logan. And Logan takes some of it but mostly he is just as lost as ever. However, when these two get over whatever is their main issue things start to heat up.

This is a really cute story that you can love. You will love Logan and Henri. They come off as so true to the ones you would consider friends. I especially love Henri, he over comes his pain from a cheating ex, gets over his fear of a possible std, and falls head over heels for Logan and camping. Although you could give him some time, well a lot of time before trying it again.

I loved the humorous parts to it. I would recommend this story because Logan is one hell of a hot fireman and EMT. Henri is just as sexy as can be, their camping in Canada, running into freezing water butt naked and lots of good times.

Review: A sexy little ménage story about a twink/sub and his Dom lover who decide to add a little spice to their love life by bringing in a third.

Ken is perfectly happy in his life with his long-term, live in boyfriend Jack. Ken is a submissive and Jack is his dominate. Every aspect of their relationship is mutual, including the decision to add something new. During his birthday Ken shares with Jack that it would be a dream come true to add a third lover to their mix. And Jack will do anything to make his man happy.
When Jack comes home from his latest mission with his colleague Slider in tow, Ken has no idea that his birthday wish is about to come true. After the threesome finish the dinner Ken prepared for Jack’s coming home, Slider and Jack decide they are ready for desert, and Ken is looking very appetizing to them.

This is a short on the lighter side of BDSM. Jack is an obvious Dom, as is Slider, but neither of them do anything abusive to Ken. It’s more in the wording of the story and the actual sex, the way it’s written and conveyed. Harlem did a great job of conveying the love between the two ML even with so few pages. You can tell that even though Slider is a welcome addition to this particular evening and fantasy, Jack and Ken are committed to each other and Jack is very protective of his sub. That aspect of the story was kind of adorable.

This would be the perfect dirty, sexy story to make your lunch hour fly by with that dash of romance for desert!

Review: This is pretty good for a short story, although I wished it had been longer because it would have been one hell of a great read. I loved the way the characters act. They just come off perfect together. At first when you meet Brendan you would think a completely straight guy. I was very surprise to find out that he was bisexual. It always makes it better when it is two very hot men. Ryan is scientist trying to find away to slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s. He had been getting prank phone calls and then a dead cat. Now scared he knew he needed help.

Hiring Brendan who just happens to be an ex-Ranger was a perfect idea. That is until he realizes he has the hots for this sexy man. Brendan had been hurt while serving overseas and knew with the head problems he could no longer do what he was trained to do. So taking a job working as private security gets him to do jobs that he loves. What surprises him is a very sexy scientist that he can’t seem to keep his hands off of. When Ryan made a comment without thinking Brendan knew he had finally found the man he could stay with. A man who turned him on with just a look.

I love the way this story can mix love and danger just perfectly. It gives you a glimpse at the romance part and trust me it will make you hotter than hell just thinking of these two men. Then the dangers from a crazy man, threatening the life of Ryan will have Brendan doing everything in his powers to keep his man safe.

I would recommend this story to anyone who loves two hot and sexy men, a sexy security man protecting the man he is falling for, lots of danger and some hot sex. I hope that there is another story to go with this one because I would love to read more about Brendan and Ryan.

Excerpt

Was this it? Was this the end of them?

No. It couldn’t be.

Sean bit his knuckles using the pain to clear his tears. “I have loved you since the first time you scooted over to let me sit with you at lunch. Do you remember, Rusty?”

Please, remember, Rusty. Please remember who we’ve always been to each other. Who we are to each other. Please be my lover. My love. My soulmate. My completeness.

Magnificent in his nakedness, Rusty nodded once. His dark curls tracked down the nape of his neck. Sean knew that whispering kisses right there, right where that bottom curl rested, drove Rusty wild.

“I was the new kid and nobody would let me sit with them. But you did. You pushed Toby McClellan off his chair and told me to sit.”

Rusty’s shoulder blades tightened. “You looked so sad. So lost. But you had this look in your eye, like you dared anyone to pity you.”

“So you did.”

“No. I didn’t pity you. I admired you. I admired your courage. Your bravado.” Rusty hugged himself.

Sean wanted to go to him. To wrap his arms around the boy who always included him, to the man who always comforted him.

Instead, he squeezed the pillow tighter and willed Rusty to turn around. If he would just turn around.

“Bravado. It was all bluff. I was scared shitless. Every time we moved, I was scared shitless.”

“What were you afraid of?”

“Of being alone.”

“Is that why you’re with me?” Rusty unfolded his arms and scrubbed both hands through his curls. “No, of course not. You would never have to be alone if you didn’t want to be. With the way you look, with the way you are, you’d just have to give a guy one of those sideways looks and he’d follow you anywhere.”

“No, Rusty. No. They wouldn’t. I wouldn’t.”

“You did. You said you really wanted to go to Boston.” Rusty turned around. The tears streaking his face broke Sean’s heart. “And I said I would follow you anywhere.”

“And now you don’t want to.”

Review: This collection of Bayou Boys stories follows Sean and Rusty over the first year after college, the hunt for a job, moving, their first Halloween in new city, their first visit home for Christmas and finally their wedding. We are drawn into their lives one stage at a time seeing their fears and triumphs, doubts and joys and each hurdle they cross as they find their lives together changing and seeing as they grow and change with it.

Meant to be:Chris Cox Bayou Boys 01 Meant to be

Sean has finished college and is struggling to find a job and to add to his worries they have to move out of student housing, Rusty is secure in his job at his father’s landscaping company and is looking forward to moving back to his parent’s house until Sean gets a decent job.

These two men have been sweethearts since they first knew they were gay, Sean moved in to Rusty’s family home when his father beat him for being gay and the two are inseparable. Sean now wants to embark on the next part of their lives but feels that unless he is contributing then he is failing, but his confidence is low after thirteen interviews and no job in sight. Rusty is very close to his family and knows that they will always be there for him and Sean, Rusty has always loved Sean but when Sean finally gets a job offer it causes friction and as the time draws closer for Sean to give an answer will their love be enough to see them through.

I loved this story as we see a very insecure Sean and a very confident Rusty working through a difficult decision that causes friction between them. With Sean’s past it would have been easy for him to fall back into the security that he found in Rusty and his family but the opportunity he has been offered is too good for him to turn his back on, and we see him finding the confidence to go for what he wants. With Rusty we see him having to let go of the security he has always known for the unknown that he will have with Sean. I loved seeing how love wins through against the doubts and fears and hoe Rusty gave up the security for Sean.

Chris Cox Bayou Boys 02 Moving onMoving On:

It has two month’s since Sean moved to Boston for his new job and Rusty has missed him something fierce, now Sean is coming home after setting everything up and Rusty will be returning with him. Sean has missed Rusty and hopes he has set everything up so Rusty can just fit seamlessly into a new life in Boston, but as they meet at the airport they both feel something is just a bit off.

Oh now this has just a bit of angst as Rusty has let his imagination run just a bit wild after Sean has described everything he has been doing and the friends he has made. Rusty is used to Sean leaning on him for everything but now with Sean being alone in Boston Rusty feels like Sean has been moving on without him. Sean has had to move out of his comfort zone to make sure Rusty doesn’t feel like he lost everything, so he has made friends, found an apartment and checked out the local sites to show Rusty, but he couldn’t help trying to make Rusty a tiny bit jealous.

Hmmm there’s nothing like spending two months apart to really test a relationship, and no matter how much you love someone the fear of betrayal and loss is still there. Rusty has torn himself up with worry when he noticed that the phone calls were getting shorter or being missed altogether but even with the doubts in his mind he isn’t letting Sean go. Sean has his own doubts when Rusty pulls out a condom and it takes a heart to heart for them to get back on an even road.

Tricked Up for Treats:Chris Cox Bayou Boys 03 Tricking up the treats

As Sean and Rusty struggle to make ends meet Rusty splashes out on tickets to a Halloween competition, Rusty thinks that it will be a great way for Sean to relax and be more at ease with his feminine side. Sean is reluctant at first but gives in knowing that it will be a bring some of the sparkle back to Rusty’s eyes as the worries of being jobless have been wearing away at Rusty’s spirit.

I really loved this one as both men try to please the other. Sean hates anything that reminds him of his father’s constant bullying, and dressing in drag has the words that his father drilled into him rolling through his mind, but for Rusty he will do anything. Rusty wants Sean to relax more and embrace his more feminine nature, being free to walk and act how he wants and Rusty thinks that the drag competition will help with that. Both men trying to boost the other and having a blast while doing it, having their love support them and showing both of them that they can do anything together.

Chris Cox Bayou Boys 04 Jingle My BellsJingle My Bells:

After winning a prize for the drag competition and swapping it for two plane tickets Rusty and Sean are heading back to New Orleans for Christmas, it is a time that awakens both Sean and Rusty to how far they have both come and how things have changed.

Ah there’s nothing like going home for Christmas to make you realise just how much you have grown up and that everything moves on and changes. As Rusty and Sean visit Rusty’s family for Christmas they both see how they have grown as a couple, doing things for themselves instead of relying on the parents and starting their own traditions, and we also see as Rusty and Sean realise just what freedom they have living alone with no constant interruptions. We also see how far Sean has come and also healed as he does his yearly Christmas present drop on his parent’s porch; there is also a light of hope as he gets a visit from his sister and his mom.

For Better Or Worse:Chris Cox Bayou Boys 05 Better or worse

Sean and Rusty’s wedding is days away and Sean is worried that he has messed up at work, he worries that he will lose his job and that he made a mistake dragging them both to Boston. Rusty knows Sean has something to tell him but he knows that he will be there to support Sean no matter what. They are about to embark on the next step in their life and nothing will stop them from standing together and facing the world.

This was a wonderful little story that shows us exactly how far both Sean and Rusty have come and how far they have grown as a couple and as individuals. Sean handles his work problems with panache, facing them head on even though he feels fear. Rusty ups his search for a permanent job as Sean confides his fears about his job. And while all this is going on they are preparing for their wedding and the step that will take them onto the next journey in their life.

****

My overall rating for these books is 4 Hearts and I would have to say that each step in their journey is just as good as the last. I absolutely adored how the author never stepped back from showing each man’s fear or their triumphs, we see the remarkable journey they take to fully become the men that they deserve to be and it was wonderful to see that even as they have ups and downs their love never falters and just got stronger. Sean and Rusty are two men that deserve all the happiness in the world, we see their happiness at the simplest things and how they work as a couple to make things work for them… standing together and leaning on each other to get through life.

I recommend this to those who love seeing love deepen and grow, who love watching relationships develop and work through the ups and downs of life, who love characters who develop and grow even as they grow closer to their lover, and to those readers who love watching pivotal moments unfold into something incredible.

Hunter Donovan, Assistant State Attorney, is a man of justice who loves a challenge. After a lifetime of putting his career first, a milestone brings him to a harsh realization—he’s lonely.

Hunter’s world changes when he meets Cam. The wary young man intrigues him and awakens a desire unlike anything he’s ever experienced. When Cam’s past resurfaces and threatens to rip them apart, their budding relationship is challenged and Cam’s hope for a future begins to dim.

These outside forces hunting Cam will stop at nothing to send him back to prison. But they’ll have to get past Hunter first.

Excerpt

Hunter stood in line and watched Cam tend to the few lingering post-lunchtime customers. Cam’s smile came a little easier and his stance less guarded.

His body, although still lean, was tighter and a little broader from the yard work at the halfway house. A slight tan colored his skin now, the faint golden tone further accentuating the blue in his eyes and the white of his smile. His hair had a sprinkling of highlights as if the sun had kissed his head. Sunrises gave him hope, but they also seemed to awaken a natural physical beauty that had been hidden for far too long.

“How can I help you? Sir,” Cam said when it was finally Hunter’s turn at the register.

Hunter leaned over the counter. “You know that drives me nuts.”

Cam smiled and grabbed Hunter’s tie to pull him closer. “I know.” After a quick peck, Cam released him.

Hunter reached over and rubbed Cam’s stubble. “Are you letting this grow out?”

Cam shrugged. He looked away and scratched his growing scruff. “It makes me look older.”

“Since when do you want to look older?”

Cam shrugged again and fidgeted with the receipts.

Realization finally hit Hunter. He grabbed Cam’s chin and forced him to make eye contact. “Are you doing that for me?”

Cam’s mouth narrowed and his brows lowered. “There’s not much I can do for you. So if growing some hair on my face will make you feel a little less self-conscious, then I’ll grow a full fucking beard if I have to.”

Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.
