Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
Jayme was a young man who lost everything when he agreed to work for the council to stop his alpha from selling young children shifters into sex slavery. His alpha when he found out was to kill Jayme’s younger brother. Jayme when he got the chance and to protect another killed the alpha. During that time, he also met his mate Silas.

Silas is a hunter more comfortable in wolf form then human.
Silas has his own issues to deal with. After an abusive childhood that ended when he was sixteen, he is more wolf than human. He doesn’t really understand emotions, only that they can hurt and leave him weak. But he has a mate now so he has to pull himself together before he loses his chance.

This was a really sweet story. Both men are damaged. Each was held against their wills and forced into horrible situations. Together they have to heal themselves and each other. With the help of their friends and packmates, they learn to open up to each other and rely on one another. During the growth of the relationship, Jayme teaches Silas how to truly live and enjoy simple things like movie and music. When it is learned that Jayme’s brother is alive and was sold Silas risks everything to help Jayme get him back.

I liked this addition to the series and look forward to more.
