Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

I enjoyed the relative slowness of Dax and Colt’s mating. Because Dax has been in captivity for so long he never has been taught about mates, let alone dating. Colt is usually not a dater at all. But together they feel something drawing them together. They take their time getting to know each other and fall in love.

All that was great. It was the “something unexpected” part that ruined what would have been a good solid book for me. Without giving spoilers it’s hard to explain. But suffice to say that it boggled my mind. I actually was reading and thinking is it even in the realm of possible.

I love my paranormal, and I like the weird and unusual. However, I don’t like it when it makes me question the possibility. There has to be something, some switch, which allows me to suspend all rational logic and just go with the impossible. This just did not have it for me.

So… I very much enjoyed the romance and relationship between Dax and Colt. They were both cute and sweet. The writing was solid and had good pacing. But that little extra nugget added something the book did not need in my opinion.
