Blurb: Duncan McLeish owns a ranch. Unlike most ranches, this one is in the Scottish Highlands. Having inherited a failing farm from his grandfather, he turns it into a successful business. He has friends and he loves his home, but he’s lonely, and not even infrequent trips to Glasgow and Edinburgh slake that thirst to find someone. Then Drew Sinclair walks into his life.

Drew Sinclair is tantalizingly close to getting his clothing brand noticed in the industry. He and his business partner, Joy, create individual dresses, while, on the side, Drew produces a line of men’s lingerie. He visits Scotland to design a bridal gown for his sister, Jenna, who is marrying Duncan’s best friend at Christmas.

Duncan and Drew have nothing except their Highland upbringing in common, but they say opposites attract, and the attraction is immediate. Is this simply a summer fling, or can two men who live such opposite lives miles away from each other find a way to love?

Reader Advisory: This book contains references to homophobia and references to death of a character’s parents.

Review: When Drew meets Duncan he finds the one man who challenges his dreams of making it in the fashion design business, he falls hard for the Scottish cowboy but his life is in London and it’s tearing Drew apart to leave the sexy man behind. Duncan never dreamed that he’d meet a man like Drew, Drew is everything Duncan has secretly wanted but Duncan’s life is with his ranch in the Scottish Highlands and while he longs for Drew there’s no way a relationship could work… is there?

This is a great story that I found intriguing, the idea of a Scottish cowboy was just fascinating and having a fashion designer as his love interest was delicious.

Both Duncan and Drew are great characters; although it took me a short while to warm up to Drew (he was a little brazen at first). Both Duncan and Drew proved to be a match made in heaven, even though they do have a bit of angst as they try to work out what they both wanted and how to get it.

The story is perfectly written with it being a sweet romance with just an added dash of angst, the relationship is fast paced but it felt natural. Duncan and Drew just fit perfectly together making it seem natural for them to fall for each other so quickly.

I enjoyed this story and thought that it was a great read; it’s perfect for a lazy afternoon in the sun where we get a huge dose of romance shot through with hot sex.

Review: This is the first book in this series so I am going to go slow with these stories.  I am not a fan of sports or guys that are into hiding.  It just seems to cliché to me.  However I did like that the guys get it right in the end.  Also this is another story that one of the guys is bi-sexual so I am definitely not getting into it as I should have.  I can sense a theme going on with this author.

Zac is one amazing football player who got caught with another man.  He is so far in the closet he is going to join Asland in it.  He runs from being outed but in truth I can see that it as a chicken move. He is also a pushy jerk but it would seem to be what Seth needed. However, now that I have mentioned the other character.

Seth is a man that has lost most of the use of his leg after a car accident and a girlfriend. Well I am not going to mention the female at all, because let’s just say I saw no need.  He wants space from those around him, and to get away from his evil brothers.  He decides to go to work at the hotel that Zac now owns.  However these two are too predictable to be interesting.  It was like I knew how each one of them was going to react with the other.

I have to admit that I skimmed through most of this story.  It just could not keep my attention like it should have.  The characters that were backing our guys just were not memorable to keep my site on them at all.  They seemed like they were forced to be there in my opinion.  This whole story was just not flowing like it should have and fell quite flat.  And then there is Seth’s abuse in the past, it was overdone. It really didn’t add anything to this story and seemed off. Let’s just say that this story just was overdone.

I hate to admit it that this story just seemed to be rushed and overdone.  The pace was off on this story.  It didn’t make the story flow right.  What started off in the right direction fell to the side, as the characters seemed to mimic many others.  Now overall the story does have some great appeal and can be made into an amazing story.  However it fell off though.  It is a gentle love story with not a lot of heat.  These guys just didn’t have the right chemistry to make them the perfect couple.  I am afraid that this whole story did not rock my world at all.

Review:  This book is linked to Sporting Chance but can be read as a standalone novel.

I can’t tell if I loved this story or hated it.  There seemed to be something missing that was important and the emotional rollarcoaster that it sends you on just didn’t really work for me like it should have.  Also it seemed to hint at certain things but did not follow through like it should have. I have read a couple of books by this author and it always hits me with her amazing ability at giving you a story.

I could not really connect with either one of these guys but the kid rocked.  Now I am always one for when our guys have kids but those are different types of stories if you get my meaning.  So when a love story starts off with one of them having a kid from a previous marriage, especially one where they are bi-sexual doesn’t really work for me.  I am not a fan of bi-sexual characters but this one works it pretty good.  I just wondered if the wife had not died would he have been with the other man.

Aron is an odd ball character who helped his lover find his true one.  He has always dreamed about the one man he had met some time ago.  Then he comes across Joe once more and things are definitely different.  His parents are those that one would never want I can tell you that.  He has not had the best role models, so when faced with a child things could be a bit sketchy.  He had never dreamed about family or even children, well things might just change.

Joe has an amazing family and a beautiful daughter.  His wife died giving birth, and now he was raising their child.  HIs parents were wonderful and helped quite a bit, but what he needed was an adult to love.  Aron is that man for him.  Now their first sexual encounter was completely off.  It was not something I would have read or enjoyed reading about.  The attraction is there, there’s heat between them but the author just did not rock me with the encounter.  It felt rushed and just odd.

It is a very slow paced story which also didn’t do it any favors in my eye.  The story had great potential though.  It has some amazing characters backing them up which was a plus.  It is a story with pain, angst, tension, and some what hot.  However it did not really do anything for me I am afraid.  I just could not connect with this story, but then again it was just my feelings.  I am afraid that this story was just not for me.

Review: A sweet romance between two best friends Jack and Raz one of which is straight.

I really liked how these two seemed well matched though I would have preferred more to the story.

It was a little weird reading how Jack sees Raz dancing with someone else and realizes he could lose Raz.

Sweet and cute story.

Review: Alright, first off, let’s get Kermit the Frog out of our heads before we begin.

This is one fun book. Certainly interesting, we are introduced to a character, Mick, who is probably agoraphobic to some degree with OCD chucked in for good measure. Then there is Ceri, he is something of a knight in shining armour to Mick.

Mick’s back story is wonderfully interesting and heartbreaking. This is a guy who has been mentally abused by two people who apparently had unconditional love for him. Mick is an odd mix of naive, innocent and easily lead but his character is totally lovable.

He finds it difficult to move on. His mental scars are holding him back and probably exacerbated by his mental condition. Mick is very set in his routine – including his work hours and his shopping day/time. Mick works security, a job that was found for him when he was left floundering after the death of his lover.

This is where Ceri enters. He is an intriguing character in his own right. He works driving truck/filling vending machines, which is how he meets Mick. Ceri is interested but knows that Mick is the complete opposite to his type of guy. Ceri is certainly the opposite of Mick’s type with his rainbow coloured hair and motorbike. It is through meeting Ceri and through Ceri’s POV that we find out more and more about Mick. I’m going to put it out there, that Mick is more interesting character out of the two. Though Ceri is a wonderfully cuddly and sweet character in his own right.

As a side note, any Whovians are going to get a kick out of this book. Mick and Ceri begin to bond over the TV show Doctor Who, which even includes a road trip to Wales where the show is filmed. Seriously, as an avid fan I was cursing Ceri for not saying David Tennant was his favorite doctor but inordinately pleased that Captain Jack was a favorite companion. I will also guarantee that many fans will smile and know immediately the specific episodes being referenced, most of which from 9 and 10 era New Who.

I’m going to have to concede the heavy Doctor Who references increased my enjoyment but even without these, this is completely my type of book. That would be the reason why I read it. Sweet and wonderful, it is an interesting view on two very real characters who have their own issues.

I loved it, I hope others do too!
