Blurb: For Sean Wright, driving a cab in the tiny Navy town of Anchor Point isn’t an exciting job . . . until he picks up just-dumped Paul Richards. A drive turns into a walk on the pier, which turns into the hottest hookup Sean’s had in ages.
After a long overdue breakup, Paul can’t believe his luck. Of all the drivers, he’s picked up by the gorgeous, gay, and very willing Sean. Younger guys aren’t usually his thing, but Paul can’t resist.
One taste and neither man can get enough . . . right up until they realize that Paul is Sean’s father’s commanding officer and the last man Sean should be involved with.
With two careers on the line, their only option is to back off. It’s not easy, though; the sex and the emotional connection are exactly what both men have been craving for a long time. But Paul has devoted twenty-four years to his career and his dream of making admiral. If he’s caught with Sean, that’s all over. He has to choose—stay the course, or trade it all for the man who drove off with his heart.

Review: I have had the pleasure of reading several stories by this author and when I came across this, I knew I wanted to read it. If you have ever been in the military or been a dependent many of the things in this are familiar. My dad was an Army man who had done a couple of tour in Vietnam, but I really can’t remember most of that since I was a very small child. My dad retired when I was in the third grade, so I didn’t have to change schools that much. But after reading this story, I can tell you that I am probably very lucky.
This story caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. The characters were perfect for the story and I have to tell you that Sean’s dad was a hoot. Most of the guys I knew that were military are old school military so I could imagine how they would react to the fact that their son was gay to begin with. Sean’s dad was perfect in so much as he was very accepting, didn’t blink an eye and basically said I knew you were gay when you were six. It was a blast to hear that part. I also know how families can be destroyed also by the military as in marriages. It would be hard for many to be separated from their spouses for so long. Also, the fact that someone who wanted to go further and then to give it up, would probably be a hard choice also. So I was not ready for this story in a way, just waiting to see what would happen.
Sean’s father divorced his mother when he was just fourteen, but basically lived with his dad from that point on. He changed schools and lost friends over the years, but now was the true test. He picked up a man who just broke up with another, and the sparks flew. He had no clue who Paul really was, until he mentioned his father was stationed at the same base. Paul was his commanding officer and now the hard choices had to be made.
Paul had ended another relationship because of his career. To meet and slowly fall for a younger man was a surprise. Then he found out who he was with, or should I say he realized Sean’s father was under him in the military. He had wanted to fly and that ended with a crash, now he wanted to be admiral, but he had to make the choice. Would he give it up for love or would he continue his career. Not to mention Sean’s fathers input into this, well you will just have to wait and see what happens.
I have never really been a fan of long books that are drawn out to the point of my losing sight, but this book made it easier. I do admit that I kind of skimmed over some parts of it, but not because I was bored with it. I just don’t do very well with long ass stories. However just a few pages was all it was, because as soon as I got to a page, well damn I had to go back to those other pages. This book was entertaining and very enticing. I always did love a man in uniform.
Now the craving Sean part was a bit over used and even though the sex was hot, it was rocked with the knowledge of what could happen if someone found out just didn’t work well for me. I mean let’s face it these guys were meant to be together. It just was a bit too much for me in the story. Brought me down a bit, however the author picked it right back up to give me a happy ending.
This is one story that I had a blast with and cannot wait for the next book to come out. I can guarantee that you will get a kick out of this book.
