Blurb: Nor O’Brien spends his days in sunny Key West caring for and rehabilitating sea turtles. He doesn’t need anything else in life, expect maybe a significant other to cuddle with after a long day. But recent heartbreak has left Nor salty, and he’s not in the mood for anything, Christmas included.

Then Eugene Montgomery walks into Turtle R&R, claiming to have found a clutch of eggs in distress. Nor is smitten with the tourist at first sight, and at the suggestion of his screwball colleagues, indulges in some no-strings-attached fun. Nor and Eugene are quick to get along, happily enjoy each other’s company, and take in the island’s unique holiday pleasures together.

But Nor would never leave his turtles, not for any man. So when his rebound fling turns into strong romantic feelings for Eugene, it’ll take a Christmas miracle to keep the two together forever in Key West.

Review: Nor relationship has broken up and lets face it, he is a bit of a grump. That is until he meets Eugene. When Eugene comes into the rescue to report some turtle eggs, lets just say Nor is all on it. Not the only thing he will be all on.

It is cute, sweet and just plain fun to read. The characters were quirky and quite interesting. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading more from this author. The story was a bit too short for me though and I hope it turns into a full size novel.

The story made me smile quite a bit.

Blurb: Aubrey Grant lives in the tropical paradise of Old Town, Key West, has a cute cottage, a sweet moped, and a great job managing the historical property of a former sea captain. With his soon-to-be-boyfriend, hotshot FBI agent Jun Tanaka, visiting for a little R&R, not even Aubrey’s narcolepsy can put a damper on their vacation plans.

But a skeleton in a closet of the Smith Family Historical Home throws a wrench into the works. Despite Aubrey and Jun’s attempts to enjoy some time together, the skeleton’s identity drags them into a mystery with origins over a century in the past. They uncover a tale of long-lost treasure, the pirate king it belonged to, and a modern-day murderer who will stop at nothing to find the hidden riches. If a killer on the loose isn’t enough to keep Aubrey out of the mess, it seems even the restless spirit of Captain Smith is warning him away.

The unlikely partnership of a special agent and historian may be exactly what it takes to crack this mystery wide-open and finally put an old Key West tragedy to rest. But while Aubrey tracks down the X that marks the spot, one wrong move could be his last.

Review: Aubrey and FBI agent Jun have plans to start their relationship off with two weeks of sightseeing and enjoying each other to the fullest. What they do not expect is finding a skeleton in the closet and investigating a murder.

I loved the perfect blend of the MC’s romance and the mystery throughout the story. The mystery itself was fascinating. I loved all the details surrounding the investigation.

Murder, mystery, romance, treasure and a great cast of characters made for an amazing story. I found I could not stop reading from beginning to the end.

Fantastic read.

Blurb: Bowen Merlin—yes, that’s his real name—accepts a position in the quaint town of Lancaster, New Hampshire, as the high school band director. He leaves New York City for the snowy countryside of New England just in time for the holidays. With class, homework, after-school activities, and a surprise Christmas concert to plan and rehearse, Bowen is plenty busy. Until he meets the proprietor of Snowy Ridge Apple Orchard, Felix Hansen. Suddenly, true love seems like a possibility for the first time in Bowen’s life. The two are a perfect match and fill the skipped beats of each other’s hearts. But as wonderful as Felix seems, he’s harboring scars that could end their budding relationship when someone in town goes to great lengths to sabotage their careers.

If Bowen is to survive the holidays, he’ll need to lean on old friends and new, convince Felix he’s worth any hardship, and prove they can come out of the catastrophe stronger if they do so together.

Review: Bowen is the new music teacher in a Lancaster school. I was intrigued reading that Bowen has sound-to-color synesthesia, which allows him to see the color of music and voices. Bowen ends up meeting Felix, a shy business man with an apple orchard.

Felix has been in a fire and as a result tends to keep to himself a lot. He has his struggles to progress through. I liked that Bowen and Felix’s overall personality were similar. There was insta-love from the moment they met.

My only complaint was that I think it would have been nice to see Felix’s POV. His thoughts on certain matters would have made this an even better story. The actual mystery of who is trying to sabotage these two is made known near the end. It all wraps up in a pretty package.

Well written and emotional this story pulls at the heartstrings.

Great read.

Blurb: Reclusive medieval scholar, Edgar Royal, has a crush. On a guy. Not a big deal, except that said guy, Walter Chase, is a famous online gamer who has no idea Edgar even exists. Edgar has harbored these feelings for nearly a year, and when Walter announces on Twitter that he’ll be visiting New York City as a guest at the GamerOn convention, Edgar decides he’ll be one of the thousands of fans who responds to the message.

He definitely doesn’t expect to be singled out by the humble, gorgeous, out-and-proud heartthrob. And when it comes to dealing with people, Edgar’s skills are pretty nonexistent. Even with Walter giving all the right signals, Edgar lacks the courage do anything about the mutual attraction growing through their online courtship. He’s always been better with the written word, so maybe the perfect Christmas gift will say what he cannot. Review: Edgar has a crush on Walter. The problem is they have never met, they have never spoken and Walter is a famous online gamer. That is until one night and he just so happens to find out that his crush is going to be in New York. So he gets the courage up and sends him a message. To his shock, Walter message’s him back. Walter is a big name guy, where as Edgar is a quiet guy who translates old languages. It will be a nice surprise.

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I still don’t understand the fascination with stars or famous people, but Edgar seems to make it easy looking. I was quite surprised by this story. It is a short story that has quite a bit in it. It was fun and enjoyable.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: Sebastian finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation when his antique shop is broken into and a heart is left under the floorboards, his closeted cop boyfriend Neil is furious when Sebastian reveals their relationship to the detective investigating the case. As Sebastian investigates the murders himself after connecting them to Edgar Allan Poe stories his relationship with Neil crumbles and Sebastian finds himself attracted to the detective, Calvin Winter.

This is a great story that has mystery and suspense that is beautifully interwoven, and it has a dash of new romance that is low key but outstanding. Sebastian Snow has a low key life; he loves his antiques store, is frustrated with his relationship and has a bit of a sassy mouth on him. When he stumbles on a murder investigation he can’t help himself but become involved and it proves to be the straw that breaks his relationship into tiny pieces.

Calvin Winter is also a closeted cop; he keeps to himself a lot and just wants to do his job. With Sebastian turning up a lot in his murder investigation he doesn’t know if he should lock him up or kiss him.

The Mystery of Nevermore is a great mystery & suspense story that leaves us guessing the why and the who until Sebastian slowly puts the pieces together and revealing the story to us. We do get ideas about who the culprit might be but the why is something that we learn later, it’s really well written and we put everything together as Sebastian does so we become invested in the story.

Sebastian is a lovely character who we can take to heart, he’s in a crappy relationship with Neil and with the way that Neil treats Sebastian we quickly hope that Sebastian will kick him to the kerb, the thing is though when it did happen I kind of felt sorry for Neil. Calvin is kind of standoffish so getting to know him is near impossible, it isn’t till near the end that you actually feel like he’d be a good fit for Sebastian.

I was really happy with the way this story was written, the mystery, suspense and Sebastian were front and centre with Sebastian’s relationship woes being in the background but both balanced really well, with the murders and investigation showcased but occasionally stepping back and allowing the relationship demise/ budding new romance to step forward and take the spotlight. It was fantastically crafted.

I recommend this to those who love mysteries and suspense’s, who love great characters, who adore strong storylines with a dash of new romance and a touch of danger.
