Review: Story about Chris, homeless man, his dog Jake who he is about to lose and attorney Jay who takes in the dog so Chris can see him. I loved the dog in this story as he seemed dedicated to Chris despite the situation they are in,

Chris struggles to keep him and the dog with food and a safe place to sleep at nights. Hoping against hope that he will not lose the only companion he has. Jay takes them in and becomes attached to both as the story progresses.

It was a struggle for Jay as he fell for them both. I loved the interactions between the two MC’s as they come from different backgrounds but found each other.

It was an o.k. read.

Review: It has only been two months since Kendall buried his wife of ten years. Theirs was not a love match, in the beginning, but their marriage was solid, and Kendall is feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Re-enter Conner. 

Conner bumped into Kendall, not knowing that Kendall was now a single father. He left town because watching his best friend/lover play house was just too painful. But, now he’s back, and no matter what Kendall says, Conner knows that he is less than “fine”.

This is a really sweet romance. It’s a bit too sexy to be classified as such, but even when they were aiming for angsty, sweet seeps in. I think the main reason, is Kendall and Conner just seemed too right for each other to fail. We just had to wait for Kendall to pull his head out of his ass, and accept that Conner had always been, and would always be his soul mate.

And I’m not going to lie…I adored Conner.  He was soooo patient. Every time he thought they had moved one step forward, Kendall found a way to push them two steps back.  And poor Kendall, try as he might, he just couldn’t keep his hands of Conner.

Readers of Caitlin Ricci and Diana DeRicci will love this sweet story about second chances.

Review: OVERALL: This is a very interesting, fun, sexy collection of stories. Unlike some anthologies you only have three stories so you get more detail and characterization than in some Anthologies packed full of short stories.

Blurb: Some dream of fame and fortune, but it isn’t always everything one might think it will be. It doesn’t matter what entertainment industry you’re in, you have to sacrifice, and when it comes to love, well that brings on a million other issues.

Inside you’ll find three stories about men in the limelight. They worked hard to gain the fame they’ve found, but in doing so, they all have longed for one thing — Love. Some things might come easy for these men, but when it comes to sharing their hearts, things are never simple and either are the men they desire.

Time Gone By by E.M. Leya ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
Jon is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. The fame and fortune he has is like nothing he ever imagined, but he left behind the only man he’d ever loved to achieve it.

Wyatt thought he’d put the past behind him and moved on, focusing on his career as he hides the truth about himself from those who are closest to him. Why should he risk his family and friends with being honest when his only reason left town six years ago?

When fate throws the two men together again, they are forced to confront things from the past that they both don’t want to admit, but the passion and desire for each other is stronger than ever, proving that no matter how much time has gone by, the heart knows what it wants.

Jon has made it big in Hollywood but even all his fame and fortune hasn’t made him happy. Deep down he still longs for the man he left behind 6 years ago. He throws himself into his work until he gets an emergency call from home that his dad is dying. When he arrives he finds the Wyatt the man he left behind and the reason he rarely comes home to be the nurse on charge.

This is an absolutely beautiful story! It really started out so good then sort of lagged a bit in the middle. The ‘I love yous’ became very overused and monotonous, otherwise this would have been a 5 Heart story.

The love these men still held over the years was priceless! It’s the type of love we all dream of!
Suck This, Neil Patrick Harris by H.L. Holston & Eleanor Bruce ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

Dante Moretti has a big problem. His acting career has hit the skids and he’s desperate to land the lead role in the next Hollywood blockbuster. It’s his last chance to get back on the superstar track.

But, his personal life is a train wreck. No sane director will work with him any longer. Solution? Bribe his best friend and former co-star, Chris Parker to play the role of his long-term boyfriend. Showing the world he’s in a committed relationship will hopefully convince casting agents he’s reformed, stable and trustworthy.
Even if it’s a lie.

What Dante doesn’t count on is the public’s reaction to the announcement that Chris and he are a couple…and his own feelings for Chris spiraling out of control.

Under the merciless cameras of the paparazzi, Dante is forced to choose–his leading man status or the man he thought was just his best friend. Who ever thought that pretending to be in love would be this hard?

Oh wow was this an unexpected gem! The title did nothing for me until I saw the relevance. This story had me laughing and praying for these two men to get together.

Dante had a run in acting and is trying to get a big part. He overhears that his reputation as a bad boy is going to keep him from it. It goes home and enlists his best friend and roommate to be his fake boyfriend. Chris is straight. But he finally lets Dante talk him into this crazy scheme.

There is twist after twist, as thing go good or bad for them. I absolutely loved this story and these men! I highly recommend reading this story, especially if looking for a fast fun and very sexy read!

Center Stage by Sara York ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
Country music is Slade Pepper’s first love and he can’t walk away from the stage, but being gay and in country music doesn’t allow him to have a personal life. Slade takes the month off to decompress and search his soul. He meets Corbin Branford and can’t say no to a passion filled night.

One night turns into more, but Corbin has no idea who Slade is, and Slade tries to keep it that way…until a fan blows his cover. Corbin is angry enough to leave, but Slade Pepper won’t give up without a fight.

Slade is a very famous country music singer and in his business being gay could be a career wrecker. After years of being on the road adored by fans, not able to go anywhere or do anything on his own or have a real relationship, he is close to burnout. He goes to a remote town beach town and meets Corbin, the owner of a small bar and grill, near the cabin he is staying in. They hit it off immediately. The only way for Slade to have a relationship would be to come out. Is he ready for that? Is Corbin up to all the publicity and also ready to be outed?

This is also a very good story. I loved both Slade and Corbin. I loved how Sara showed us Slade’s busy life and his softer side with his fans. I also liked the comradery and ease Corbin and Slade fell together. Of course Sara writes some really steamy sex scenes!

Overall, this is a very great book. You can read all at once or in sections to fill time. I highly recommend this book and that you read all three stories as they were all awesome!

If you’re like movie stars, country singers, lost love found, new love beginning, and some very hot man-sex this is definitely for you!

Review: I am becoming an E.M. Leya fan but have never read any books by Nicole. I could definitely tell a difference in the writing in this book when compared to the other E.M. books I’ve read however, the writing is still good. I did feel that some important parts of the story were a bit glossed over but other times I felt the story was a bit long.

If you are not a fan of the insta-attraction, this is not the book for you. These 2 meet in an airplane and pretty much from the word go they are attracted to each other (and sexually). In the little bit of time they spend together on the plane – the flight is long but most of it is spent sleeping – they feel a connection…there is something they must pursue.

Zach is young and doesn’t have a lot of experience with men. He has been a pretty serious person through high school and college and didn’t make time for personal relationships. He is instantly taken by Killian’s sex appeal and charisma. Zach lacks self-confidence and has a hard time believing someone as established as Killian would take an interest in him.

Killian feels ‘pulled’ to Zach from the moment he sees him. He feels an instant connection he didn’t feel with his ex whom he spent 4 years with and just broke up with. This connection is too intriguing to pass up.

Almost immediately, they meet a pretty major stumbling block but decide to power through it and pursue a long-term relationship. In addition to this stumbling block, they live in different countries so they decide to make the most of the time Zach is in London deciding if they can take the relationship further once he goes back to the US.

There is quite a bit of angst throughout the book but their love seems to be strong. They encounter their last major issue with only about 20 pages left in the book and it’s a doozy.

Overall, the book kept me pretty interested from the get-go and there is a lot of emotion in it. I’m interested to see who book 2 is about…whether it’s existing characters or new characters we’ve yet to meet.

Review: Novellas are typically not my favorite type of read because I’m usually left wanting more. That’s not the case with this book. Ms. Leya did a great job of writing a complete story in a short package.
Jason is struggling with life. He is suffering from PTSD, not only from being in the military but losing the love of his life and his life altering accident. He hasn’t completely given up the will to live but he is depressed. His fear of failure is stopping him from doing much of anything.

Enter Tyler. He is also struggling with life and this job is his last-ditch effort to try to get his life back on track. He’s a bit depressed after a failed relationship. He’s never lived outside California and the Texas town is quite a change for him. His tough love approach to Jason’s recovery is exactly what Jason needs to kick-start him into action.

Their chemistry is slow to build and they keep their attraction for each other hidden afraid to ruin their new nurse/patient relationship. The slow build makes their coupling even sweeter and as they get to know each other, their love appears to be genuine.

The writing was good as always with Ms. Leya. The secondary characters appear very briefly but are good just the same. Overall, another great E.M. story!

Review: I absolutely love Emma’s writing! I really liked this book although the beginning almost made me stop reading.

When Martin challenged Stephen and called him out for being a terrible boss and horrible person to his employees, I cheered him on…however, the spanking punishment was a bit of a stretch for me. It was a bit unbelievable that an employee who hated his boss so much would initiate such a sexual act. I understand it was the start of their sexual relationship and the foundation to the story but it was a little too much.

That being said, I did really like the rest of the story. Martin was lead a simple life…content to work hard to get what he wanted. He was a bit reclusive and closed off. Stephen was raised by money and social status. He was uptight and self-doubting, always trying to live up to his dad’s unrealistic expectations. He found security in the money he made but really wanted independence from his father. Martin and Stephen really balanced each other well. Once they were able to see past the masks in place and move from the superficial start, they became a beautiful couple.

Stephen’s dad was an insufferable, bigoted homophobe. He stressed the importance of social status and wealth over family and molded Stephen to follow in his footsteps. His role in the book leads to most of the angst and a surprisingly heartbreaking twist near the end.

The few secondary characters in the book worked really well. Overall, a pretty good, typical book for Ms. Leya.

Review: Lost In the Crowd is a very sweet, enjoyable novel. It can be read in one setting, but besides that, you don’t want to put it down. If you have never read anything by E.M. Leya, first of all, you are missing out, and secondly, this is a great read by an amazingly talented author.

I don’t like to rehash the blurb, but it really hits the mark with the context of this story. Jared is a musician, and is on the top of his career. He is financially secure, he has #1 hits on the charts, he has a loving and supporting family, and he is adored by his fans. Sounds pretty nice, doesn’t it? It should be everything he has ever wanted, and for the most part, it is. He’s been doing this gig for 11 years with very little time to himself. He is rundown, fed up, and at the end of his rope. He just wants a few days to himself, try to re-group, rest, and do it all over again. Doesn’t sound like a bad request, right? The only problem though, his manager, Ben, won’t leave him alone. So Jared takes the situation, into his own hands. He escapes his security team, after a concert, and ends up hiding in the kitchen, of the arena, he just performed. What’s he gonna do, now, since he has given them the shaft? Where will he go and not be recognized? He didn’t really think it thru, he just needed to go.

It seems this may be his lucky day. In the kitchen is Scott, the chef, who recognizes Jared, but he doesn’t make a big deal about it. He offers to help by giving him a hiding place, but more than that, he opens his home to him for two weeks. Scott finds Jared very attractive and sexy. Once he finds out that he is also gay, he lets the attraction take over. They have amazing chemistry. They have an undeniable connection, so they put it to good use. Jared may be burnt out in his career, but he is all fireworks in the bedroom, or the couch, possibly the kitchen table, anywhere that has a flat surface, they put it to use. Two weeks, that’s all they have. Neither wanted to form any attachments, they both know their time is limited. Will they be able to call it quits? Do they even want too? Over several weeks of phone calls, they answer these questions. I was pleasantly surprised with the decisions they made.

Even, though, this is a relatively short story, the author does an incredible job stretching the time frame to accommodate their schedules and previously committed responsibilities. I would probably still consider this an insta-love story, but it works for them. If you are looking for a feel-good, no angst story, you should definitely give this a go. This is the perfect book for a day at the beach, or sitting at home curled up in a blanket. E.M. Leya has many wonderful stories, including this one, which everyone should take the time to read. You will be glad you did. This is a very sexy, fun-filled, novel that I truly enjoyed.
