Blurb: A pulse of light preceded the gift of life breathed into the coldest and darkest of souls. Bathed in the glow of celestial love and swathed in a blanket of black satin wings nestled a king among kings, a vampire born to destroy the decay threatening to eradicate the race he was destined to save.

An angelic heart torn by yearning, suffering, and pain throbbed to the rhythm of the life he created; a life prophesied in the scriptures by the Creator’s own hand. A vow of servitude given in blood sealed the fate of a Seraphim’s heart and tied it eternally to the creation he craves, protects…loves.

Ancient treaties are lost and reborn, rising from the ashes as the Nephilim ravage the vampire race. The deviant desire that soared in Malachi Denali’s blood threatens to bring Rome to its knees when Malachi’s world, his soul, and his heart are brutally shattered and torn apart.

Will purity born of an angel’s love be enough to calm the savage mind of Malachi Denali? Or will Laziel be doomed to a life of purgatory for loving the life he was gifted to create…

This is not a HEA, or even a HFN…Who knows what will happen to seal their fate…only time will tell. Vampires, angels, demons, and wolves together with love, betrayal, sadness, and yearning make up the ongoing story that is…

The Crimson Nights Saga.

Review: Malachi (Lachi) is King of the vampires, created to save his race and bonded to a Seraphim, Laziel, it is his destiny to guide the vampires, but, the duty is wearing him down and without his angel to temper his dark yearnings he would lay waste to those that irk him. Laz adores his vampire, Lachi is his to protect but Laz loves Lachi with his every breath, a love that Lachi can’t accept. With a rival vampire working with their enemies Lachi and Laz are about to face a challenge that the world may not survive.

Oh My God, this is a brilliant paranormal story that just blew me away. Lachi is being pressured to take a female mate and produce children, but he has no interest in females and only wants his angel. Lachi secretly loves Laz but refuses to say anything because he thinks he has too much darkness inside him. Laz would give anything to be able to love Lachi freely but knows Lachi would never accept his love or freely return it, he is caught in the web of his Creators making and can only take what Lachi offers. In the vampire world there are factions at work trying to bring Lachi to his knees but with the aid of others Lachi is trying to stop the plans, but finding proof is near impossible.

There are many things going on in this epic story that has you wondering how they are connected and the further into the story we venture the clearer the picture becomes, but there are still many unanswered questions at the remarkable Kindle throwing ending. We have two fantastic main characters in Lachi and Laz and believe me when I say that Laz has a very interesting surprise for you. We find out about Lachi’s creation and his connection to Laz, we see a very interesting relationship between the two and some hot sex with a brief glossy overview of their BDSM relationship. But, this story is so much more than just Lachi and Laz, and I mean a lot more, as we are introduced to many more characters and little side story’s that piques your curiosity.

While I would love to blather on and on about the storyline I won’t, just because trying to fit everything in to a short review would completely do a disservice to this epic storyline. There are many characters that we get to know who seem to have their own stories to tell and we see brief flashes of these. Lachi’s and Laz’s story is complex enough without trying to dissect it to bring up different points. But, I have to say that the authors have woven everything together in such a way that it grabs your attention and won’t let go. It fills you with excitement and frustration, has you lingering for that devouring powerful kiss, and has you growling in righteous anger at the mechanics of an insane vampire. Oh by the way, the warning in the blurb about the ending is to be taken seriously!

I recommend this to those who love epic storylines, vampires and paranormals, an intense plot, great characters, devious intent, thwarting enemies, unspoken love and an ending that has you whimpering in protest as you squelch the scream of frustration that is trying to burst forth.

Review: All right, this is it people. This exactly what I love and crave when I read a paranormal book that involves wolf-shifters. Damn this read was one hell of a ride and damn if I’m not anxiously waiting for #2 of the series.

Let me tell you, this was a 117 pages novella that I surprisingly devoured in a couple of hours with people going in and out of the house, kids screaming their heads off and elders demanding my presence, yet I noticed nothing. Nothing at all!

From line one, I was lost to the known world. From chapter one it was a miracle I still breathed, and by the end of book, well even now it’s a wonder I have the presence of mind to write the review and actually function.

The idea of pre-shifting wolves getting in a secured compound that would allow them to come to terms and control their wolf without hurting someone was freaking brilliant. I mean it, it is so damn logical and sane I wonder how no one else thought of that first.

Here we have Collin. He is anxious and freaking out of his mind, because in two years’ time he not only has to submit himself in a prison for his kind, but he has to go through the horror and the pains of his shift. Stay in the compound till he controls his wolf and in general be away from his pack and brother (his only blood relative) for at least a year. However, an attack to his pack leaves him and his brother the only survivors, his brother seriously injured, and they have nowhere to go except follow the guard from the nearby Moon Compound and make that “prison” their residence. Collin feels like he’s going to lose it.

On the other hand, we have Sloan. Damn that hot, hot, HOT Alpha. He stole my heart, period. He’s been in the compound for three years and still hasn’t mastered his wolf. A night before the full moon and yet another change he sees a new addition coming in and his heart is lost. Not understanding why he spends all night kneeling in front of his call and watching over the new arrival, praying he’s ok. Next day he goes into a fight with another Alpha that dared go near this new Omega. And the same night, without even thinking twice about it, he offers Collin his iPod so he’ll be able to not hear the screams and horrors of the shifters.

And how many times have I said that I totally hate the “Fate” and inevitable of the mating ritual? Yes, too many to count and I take it all back shamelessly on this occasion. This mating ritual ROCKED, and it’s one of the best I’ve read so far. Congratulations to the author, that was bloody brilliant, and one hell of an achievement pulling it off the way she did.

The pair took me with it and dragged me along its story without a hitch. One moment I was starting the read, the next it was over and I was left in agony, as the final line was the beginning of the next installment, and God damn it, it was so hooking that waiting I don’t know how many months for book #2 to come out seems like the biggest cruelty ever done to me.

Oh God, I’m still upset it is over. Yeah, keep that in mind before you read this awesome, awesome book. I totally loved it.

Review: Cornelius was a rhino shifter and best friends with Gus, who is mated to a gargoyle. He always wanted to be loved, but from his past comes pain. Then he met Einan, a gargoyle enforcer. And at first, every time they talked they seemed to argue and Cornelius runs. His ex-boyfriend not only hurt him, but also shared him with his friends, and since Cornelius was a sub, he had taken the abuse, till one day he got away. Then the past came back and Cornelius needs to save his sister from his ex. He just prayed Einan would care enough and forgive him to come save him. What Cornelius didn’t understand was Einan loved him and would always save him. I loved this story and cannot wait till the next book of this series.

Review: This is a very good book with a wonderful story line. I love the characters. They are so believable. Priest is a human and Randy is a wolf. Priest moved to Brac Village to start over, get a fresh new start after his divorce. He opened a bar-be-cue restaurant and was getting his fresh start, when in walked Randy. Randy, was a quiet kind of guy, with a very violent life. His uncle appeared to be this sweet old man who looked out for his nephew, but appearances were deceiving. Priest wasn’t to sure of Randy’s eyes devouring him when they first met, but when he noticed the bruises he knew he had to help. After losing a friend to abuse, he wasn’t going to let this happen to Randy, but what he didn’t know was that it was Randy’s uncle causing them. He didn’t know about the paranormal world, till Randy got beat so bad it put him in the hospital, when the doc told him about his mate and how to take care of him. The danger kept coming till he knew he had to take the uncle down. I can’t wait to read book three of this series.

Review: And these are the kind of series books I like. Ones that can stand alone, but that give the reader enough information so that all the secondary characters make sense within the context of the current story. This glimpse into the lives of the secondary characters often make a reader want to read the other stories – great author strategy.

I am endlessly fascinated by the rules that authors come up with for paranormals.  Most of us were raised with basic vampire and werewolf stories. However, authors in the paranormal genre have played with the rules by creating new norms and archetypes.   As such, writers have been able to create endless plotlines of love between paranormals.  At the heart of many paranormal love stories is the theme of love overcoming prejudice and opposites attracting as the key conflict and crisis.  This story is no different. A fennec fox shifter who represents the small quintessential twink mated to the world’s oldest vampire, the larger more powerful dominant partner.  In this story, however, the strength of the smaller man is really the key to the couples HEA.  It is he who must find his inner strength to save his immortal lover’s humanity and ultimately the coven. In doing so, the final theme of acceptance and inclusion is achieved. The themes of love, friendship and that you create the family that is important to you, is really what makes this book heart warming.  And of course, there are hot men, lots of monkey sex and you couldn’t have a paranormal story without there being the bad guys who have to be taken down by any means necessary, so that the main characters can battle their way back to each other and a life of eternal bliss.

Blurb:  Recovering from his past might cost Paul Hardy his life.

Paul Hardy has been rescued from a human trafficking ring, but he isn’t free. The experience has left him traumatized and unable to dig himself out of his past. He’s learned things no one ever should—including that shifters exist and are every bit as vicious as the beasts they become.

Snow leopard shifter Justice Chalmers spent ten years in the Marines before moving back to Phoenix and working hard to get his dream job. Being a cop is all he’s ever wanted. When his younger sister needs someone to drive her to their Grandma Marybeth’s place in Colorado so she can try to help a human man with her new therapy license, Justice steps up to help her out, never imagining that he’ll meet his mate.

Justice and Paul won’t have it easy. Not only does Paul have serious issues from his ordeal, his fear of shifters makes him a leery mate.

And someone wants to silence him permanently…

Reader Advisory: This book contains reference to past sexual abuse.

Review:  In this story, the author deals with the aftermath of sexual abuse, showing that any person can need some help at some point in their lives. While Paul wasn’t necessarily a very easy character to like, you did understand what had made him the way he became. Bailey gives you a very real and gritty look at the physical and psychological changes that a person goes through to deal with long-term abuse. I loved that she had someone there to help Paul, someone who had his or her own issues to deal with.  Life is messy but can be dealt with when you have lots of love and people who care.

Paul thinks he’s dealt with or is dealing with what has happened to him. If he’s in constant control of the sex, then he’s not a victim anymore. Except he’s not dealing with it, he’s just existing from day-to-day, taking no joy from anything left in his life. Not even the sex. Putting himself in danger for sex that he doesn’t even enjoy, and getting lax in the precautions he’s taken, he realizes that maybe he does need the help his brother, Preston says he does. When his past abuse catches up with him in the form of the wolf shifters, he escaped from, he’s in more trouble and now he knows it.

Justice is an officer of the law and a snow leopard shifter who just happens to live in Phoenix. When his sister who’s just gotten her degree in psychology is asked to help the brother of one of their long-lost relatives, well you can’t say no to family. And asked to drive her to help Paul, since because of her own drama, Justice does.

The road to love and a happy ever after is going to be long and painful for both Paul and Justice.  Paul has to work through his disengagement of feelings and need for control in sex. And he needs to deal with his fear of shifters, since Justice is one and his mate. Justice needs to stay patience and be there for Paul.

In the mix of all this is the relative who’s mated to a wolf, which Paul still has an uncontrollable fear of. Add a Shaman, who is hunting down the shifters who kidnapped and abused Paul, long-lost relatives and Grandma Marybeth, who is a feisty hoot in all of these Leopard Spot books.

This is book ten, and these do need to be read in order to understand the background and the building of the relationships.

Blurb: Madigan Parker thought accepting a relationship with his five guardian angels was difficult. He’s learning that being in a relationship with all of them is more difficult as personalities clash. Bren still distrusts Cross, Yuri believes he’s the odd man out, and Michel is just too nice to put his foot down with any of them. While Dex is the only one admitting to the mutual affection and attraction that is growing between them, Madigan has his hands full.

He wants to take back his life and reopen his business. But being a baker proves difficult as old enemies circle closer, and keeping his lovers safe proves to be a lot trickier than Madigan originally thought. Torn between the life he had and the new life awaiting him, he has to decide if staying in the town he calls home is worth the risk to his men and to his heart.

Review: Madigan thought that by accepting and bonding with his angels that he would be safe but it doesn’t work properly if the angels aren’t bonding as well, so Madigan gives them a helping hand but the hunters are determined and finds a new way to hunt.

This is a well-written novella that gives us the hot sex and interesting story line that we expect from Jana Downs (you spoilt us ;-)). Madigan is upset to learn that he can’t go back to work like he wants to because the angels haven’t been bonding properly so he sets the law down and gives his angels a helping hand. Dex, Michel, Yuri, Cross and Bren all try to come to terms with the relationship but it isn’t smooth riding for them and there are more than a few hiccups as they all try to form a relationship that suits them all.

These characters are all great men err… angels and Nephilim each with a personality that is uniquely them, each one has his own doubts to overcome as they bond with each other and Madigan has a lot to think about because when asked he had never even thought of admitting to his mother his new relationship. We get lots of really hot sex between these men some one on one, some ménage but always a hot and passionate experience.

I loved the added characters and the plot twist with the hunters was great and the new information that they received has added an interesting quest that I can’t wait to see unfold. There’s danger, injuries, hurt feelings, explanations and making up sex ;-). So if you enjoy any of that then I recommend you get this book and enjoy. Happy reading.

Review: Reno is a fireman/coyote shifter and had just transferred to the local fire station of Brac Village. He meets his mate, a human who just found out about shifters, at the local bakery. Baker isn’t too sure what to think, when a man comes into the shop and kisses him with everything the man has. Baker does just not sure about the man himself, not know at first who the man is or what he is. However, as a coyote shifter Reno was taught that there had to be a mating dance game when you met your mate. Not realizing, that it doesn’t always go the same way for each coyote. However, this cop wanted to make Reno’s life a living hell, and Reno realizes what a true cat and mouse game it was. Baker wants his mate. He just wasn’t sure who was crazier.

This is a wonderful book with a lot of colorful characters. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Review:  This is a warm and sweetly written story which deals with a parent, Travis, having to swallow some pride when he finally wins custody of his daughter, Hannah. However, it was at the cost of everything else in his life. Down on his luck, he runs into Liam while trying to find work.

Something about the smaller man calls to Liam. It makes him want to offer help without hurting the other man’s pride more than it’s already been. Using the excuse of an out-of-town trip for his boss, who is also his Alpha, he persuades Travis to watch Lucy and Ethel, his mastiff dogs. He figures that’s a start, but how do you tell a human that you’re a shifter?

I love how Hannah knew instinctively that Liam was a shifter, by calling him Puppy every time she saw him. And, I love how Liam became a protective de facto parent around Hannah, even before he and Travis got together. His Alpha is so not happy that Hannah can see the “puppies”; it brings back the stories of hunters who can see the wolf in them. So now, Liam gets to deal with his feeling for Travis, his need to protect Hannah while getting her to stop calling them puppies and to placate his Alpha at the same time.

This was an enjoyable story to read, well written.  Travis, Liam and Hannah are well-rounded characters and very likable. I look forward to reading more of this series and more of this author’s work.

Review: Partners, Tristen and Fin are both veterans, not quite long from the Sandbox.  Both have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Both are more than physically attracted to each other.  Both are Werewolves.

We are able to follow Tristen and Fin without difficultly, which is perfect because this story is about the two of them.  Moreover, the writer poses a great question that some couples face:  What happens when your partner wants more than you think you can provide?

Blood Brothers is Book 2 in Susan Arden’s Rocky Mountains Shifters Series.  Populating this world are various Weres and Vampires – both born and created; and open-ended hints at Shifters.  One does get the feeling that there are definitely missing elements in this part of the story.  Such as, Humans are aware of Shifters, but the laws are not on equal.  Councils are set up to handle Shifter disputes.  The missing elements are not enough to stop you from wanting to pick up the series, however!

Tristen has unresolved issues.  High on the list is Fin, who fast is becoming a more demanding submissive every time they touch.  Enter Santo, a handsome born Vampire with capped fangs and an empathic erogenous zone.

I look forward to the growing story line between Tristen and Fin.  Kudos to Susan Arden on Blood Brothers, with her grasp of psychology, the prospect of watching Tristen and Fin experiment further into the BDSM realm, and the added pleasure of Weres, Vampires, and Shifters. OMI! ~;p

Review:  Just because the world is overrun with flesh-eating zombies that can infect you with a bite, doesn’t mean you can’t find love in the middle of all the madness and mayhem!

Mason along with a small group of survivors have found a safe place to call home, protecting themselves from the zombie hordes that have infested the planet and infected the majority of the populace. Mason is a loner, though he’s a key member of the group and definitely pulls his own weight. But the loss of his lover when the attacks first started has left him alone and bitter.

Out on a supply run the group comes across what they at first assume is a zombie locked in a cage. But soon, two words convince them otherwise. “Water… Please.” Zombies don’t talk. They don’t ask for water. They don’t NEED water. They take the young man back to their compound for treatment. Soon enough he and Mason are exchanged heated glances and wanton stares. Mason doesn’t want to want Kyle; want leads to need and need will lead to love. Mason is perfectly happy wallowing in his misery since Antonio’s death. But the deliriously skinny Kyle won’t be ignored.

The story was a little disjointed in a couple of places and overall felt crammed. I think this would have been an eerily beautiful full length novel. That being said, I still enjoyed the concept of what seemed to be the only two gay men left finding each other at the end of the world. Kyle breaking down the walls Mason has surrounded himself with, while Mason is continually trying to convince Kyle that he is still attractive.

If you’re a fan of zombies, dystopian and m/m genres then this book is a safe bet for a fast, fun read! I’ll definitely be looking for more from this author.

Review: Rio LaBlanc, kindergarten teacher and panther shifter, is a man who doesn’t always know how to have fun. Fire Veneteo is a fey, a gambling addict, and now a kindergarten arts teacher. The only problem is Fire has no clue about art and even less about children. To top it off the first day, while his whole classroom was running around without their heads, his mate walks in. Rio takes one look at Fire and says hell no, but he knew it would, Ohhhh, Yes. With Fire’s gambling problems and a demon stealing bodies, these two were going to drive each other crazy. I loved this story and cannot wait for the next book in this series. There is a barrel of laughs in this book, with characters you will fall in love with.

Blurb:   Larsson Balenescu is trying hard to get over the fact that his fated mate is not only a Tygerian, and one of the Alliance’s most bitter enemies, but also the fact that he’s Tarr Bonnet, one of the worst pirates and sex slave traffickers in the known galaxies. When Larsson discovers that Tarr has put a price on his head, he’s furious, and vows never to mate with the man, no matter how painful it is for him to stay away from him. Soon he’s captured by Tarr’s men and taken to his ship where Tarr sets out to claim him as his love slave. An accident en route forces them to crash on a strange moon, where Larsson is captured by the inhabitants. His only hope lies in Tarr’s ability to save him. But, who will save him from Tarr?

Review:   Quintessential Shannon West paranormal fare. Larsson and Tarr are wolves and tigers respectively. This is a story about two dominant forces colliding in the futuristic tale of two men who are locked in both personal battle as well as the battle to literally save themselves from slavery. If you like this genre, and want a read that is all about finding mates and succumbing to those desires, then this will appeal to you.  Author West presents the reader with more of the Balenscu clan and Larsson is delightful in his need to be his own man and not succumb to his desire for Tarr Bonnet, a disreputable pirate involved in the sex trade.  The reader gets to enjoy the jog from Larsson’s resistance to its inevitable futility; when both men will end up together while also skipping through issues and crises as they arise that stem from kidnappings, misunderstandings, the need to mate, and then fights to near death. *phew*

The fact that Author West has created an entire alternate universe in which same-sex love is seen as normal is wonderful.  She manages to find other avenues of human conflict that makes us understand that while we struggle here on earth with same-sex love, even if we lived in an alternate realm, human(oids) would still find a reason for strife and discord.  Tarr’s meeting with those who are like him, yet different illustrates how humanity can be different, but we are ultimately still the same.

I also find the novel’s ability to blend fantasy and paranormal with a blend of the future adding a dash of the past.  The gladiator style fights and clothing when juxtaposed with the futuristic nature of space travel should seem unrealistic, but it works well.  A nice addition to Ms. West’s already impressive roster of paranormal m/m fiction.

Blurb: The only thing that Evan enjoys is playing in a hacker hangout and chatting with a fellow computer expert, BlackJoy. Up to this point, he’s avoided the matches made by sHarmony’s “Love Experts,” but he is ready to try just about anything to find his prince charming. Little does he know that fate has already set him up with his perfect match.

Brandon is very intrigued by the man he plays games with on Hackverse. Working as head of internal security at sHarmony, he recognizes some of the programming he’s encountered in the system as WrightTrigger’s handiwork. Once he finds out that Evan has a profile on sHarmony, it’s all too easy to set them up on a date. He doesn’t know that the man who intrigues him is really the mate of his dreams.

As their courtship heats up, outside threats might put a permanent end to their courtship before it really has the chance to blossom into romance.

Review: This story is part of a series and is best read in order. Evan hasn’t had much luck with his sHarmony dates and much prefers to play in a hacker hangout with Blackjoy, a fellow computer expert. He has slightly flirtatious chats and develops a slight crush, but on his next date he meets a shifter he is strongly attracted to. Brandon enjoys playing with WrightTrigger on Hackverse and during a security update, he recognizes some of WrightTrigger’s work, it gives him the perfect opportunity to meet the man who intrigues him. Their relationship heats up but there are outside threats that threaten what they are building together.

Ohhhh, Evan, you are a delightful and Brandon, you are just a touch sneaky. I really enjoyed this story. The groundwork is laid out early between Brandon and Evan with them first meeting on-line building up a budding friendship. And then later meeting face to face with only one of them knowing the other is really their hacker friend. Evan and Brandon make a great couple, although they try to take it slow so Evan can be secure in his choice of man, they have a lot in common and enjoy each other’s company. But than Humans First, (bigoted group) step up their game plan and Evan finds out the downfalls of being mated to a shifter.

This is a great storyline which I thought was great, we get a bit more information about the way shifters are treated by the human government *grrr* and we see the lengths that Humans First will go to try to purify the world. Evan wants to wait until he is certain till he is turned but a slight mishap moves up the timeline, and Oh My God he is sooooo cute as a shifter… and funny, the swimming pool incident had me giggling my head off, even now thinking back on it I can’t stifle a laugh. Brandon’s shifted form is one I’d never want to meet but compliments Evan’s in a weird sort of way.

We see characters we met in Bite Me, with Orion getting a surprise and we catch up with Jude and Logan, and we are introduced to Quinn (receptionist at sHarmony and Brandon’s best friend). I have to say that this was a very satisfying story with danger, disapproval, prejudice, bigotry and on the other side of the spectrum, love, humor, great friends and enormous support. I really can’t wait for what is to come next.

I recommend this to those who love shifters, brilliant characters, hot sex, sweet love, disappointment and hurt, friends pulling together in times of need and a great ending.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Tiber is the Alpha of Black Creek pack and wants to find his mate, and stumbles across him when he is looking for signs of Oscar. Keir is overjoyed to finally meet his mate, but he does not intend to ever share his mate with anyone else. Tiber and Keir have other concerns first though they have to hunt down Oscar and rescue pack members and they discover there is a traitor in their midst.

Oh, Keir is one confident puppy and Tiber soon learns that surrender is bliss. Tiber is still hunting for Oscar, the insane wolf who is murdering Tiber’s pack members, while on a hunt he and Conner discover an injured red wolf and take him to Josh. Keir was looking for Tiber’s pack when he was attacked by a back wolf. Even though he is injured, he is still overjoyed to meet the alpha. Now, he just needs to convince the shifter that they are meant to be together. With Tiber accepting new pack members, he doesn’t realize that he may have accepted a traitor, but it soon comes to a head and all is revealed.

I really enjoyed this story. I really liked the way that Keir, as a red wolf, was slightly different from the gray wolves, fully believing in the mate bond for red wolves. Keir is also super confident, even though he knows alpha’s usually take more than one mate he is determined to prove his newfound mate otherwise and that he is the only mate Tiber needs. Tiber has been alone for some time and although he doesn’t say outright, at first you get the feeling he has no intention of having more than one mate anyway. He just likes tease Keir. Their relationship is passionate and they get along brilliantly, the storyline has a good hint of tension with a healthy dose of danger. I must admit to being slightly surprised as to the traitor and cheered happily when they got what they deserved.

I recommend this to those who love shifters, a great storyline, brilliant characters, hot sex, shifters getting their just deserts and a great hot ending.

Review: I must first admit that I haven’t read the previous book in this series and I usually don’t think it’s fair to review a book without the back-story, but even so, I was enthralled. Maybe it’s because I like a good murder/mystery, or possibly, because Jon and Lender have such wonderful chemistry and a strong partnership when they go on adventures for Leander’s psychic work. Either way this story captured my imagination as well as the main characters capturing my heart. I love the way Jon takes such care of Leander, making sure he wears sunscreen, eats well, and watched out for his general well-being, all the while denying what his heart already knows, he’s totally lost in love with “Andy” and needs to come to terms with and admit it before he loses him.

The psych job Leander is on, the hunt to discover what has happened to heir apparent Ethan sends Jon and Andy on a wonderful wild goose chase. It’s also interesting to see Leander come into his psychic skills set and develop it. The secondary characters Harper introduces are quite complex and spike my curiosity also, they have plenty enough strength to balance the main story. The ending is surprising, and I especially enjoy the epilogue! I can say no more else, I give it all away. Definitely, a recommended read, in fact I’m going in search of Books 1-2, so I can be fully involved in Harper’s intriguing plot twists.

Blurb: Jude Lawson has bad luck in love. When his friend stumbles upon a matchmaking service promising to pair him with the shifter of his dreams, he isn’t entirely convinced. Little does he know that his first match will be the man destined to change his bad luck forever.

Logan Carter is a fox shifter who is looking for a second chance. Since adopting his younger brother after their parents’ death, he’s not had much luck with relationships. Deciding to date a human might be a bit of a culture shock but it has to be better than not dating at all. Taking it slow might have been his plan but one glance at Jude shows him he wants anything but.

Review: Ohh. I loved this new shifter story with its interesting take on shifters. Jude is a proper cutie and is really fed up with his abysmal love life. He has always had a thing for shifters… well, the ones in his romance books anyway. so, when he and his friends stumble across sHarmony, a dating site that caters to humans and shifters, he signs up and meets the love of his life on the first date *yay*. Logan is a wonderful man who took his little brother in when their parents died, most dates run when they discover this though, Logan is also fed up of dating shifters who subscribe to the 3 second rule “your eyes meet, one second, you take a breath, two seconds, you fall in love, three seconds.” Logan wants a relationship of substance and signing up for a date with a human seems like the way to go. Not everything is rosy for the couple though because of outside interference and they have to support each other when the prejudice and bigotry begin.

So a new series and a newish take on shifters. Shifters are known to the world, most have accepted them, but there are some groups that like enforce their bigotry. Human’s can be changed by a virus from their mate but there is no real way of telling what their animal would be, the animal is linked to the humans personality. I liked how it was all set out and easily explained. There was no confusion or mystery just an easy explanation. The story flowed well, with everything coming together to make an enjoyable story with very likable characters, Jude and Logan were both delightful and their relationship moved quickly but with a huge amount of passion and a good dose of friendship between them.

The secondary characters were great, Evan, Collin, and Orion all adding something to the story, you just know they will get their own stories in the future. While Jude and Logan’s relationship is perfect for them, others try to make trouble for them and they both face a bit of danger. The shifter aspect was fascinating, especially trying to guess what type of shifter Jude would turn into… and he is so cute when he does.

I recommend this to those who love shifters, hot sex, great characters, tension and a touch of danger, a great story and a wonderful ending.

Review: I have always loved Charlie Richards’s stories and this was no exception. Xavier was four hundred twenty-seven years old and wanted a mate. Owen was a detective and very much in the closet. So much so, that he had never been with a man before. Yet, he wanted Xavier at first sight. The only thing that worried Xavier was how to introduce him into the vampire world. During the kidnapping of his leader’s mate, Owen got introduced real fast. However, he realized that no matter what, he wanted to be with Xavier. The sex was amazing and the fact that he had bonded with Xavier, Owen knew he would have to tell his family. Xavier was worth coming out.

This story was fast told, but the story line was really good. I would read it more than once.

Blurb: Teleporter Breck Bayes made a deal with a demon to save the life of his little sister Amanda, who was dying of cancer. The demon expects Breck to work off the debt — as a thief who can get past any walls or locks. If Breck balks, Amanda’s cancer will come back, and she’ll die. Breck’s a good guy, but a few trinkets versus Amanda’s life? It’s no contest.

Manny hears about Breck’s popping around town and uses his own talents to find and confront him. Sentinels are supposed to prevent the mage gifted from using their talents to steal, by force if necessary, but then he gets the whole story. Manny understands family, and he decides that his Sentinel persona is going to have to suck it up and deal while he helps Breck get out from under the demon — even if it means becoming an accomplice to the thieving while, they plot Breck’s escape. But then the demon notices Manny, whose true sight and seeking would be very useful in its quest to own things that don’t properly belong to it, and suddenly it’s not only Breck who’s in trouble.

Review: This story is part of a series and is best read in order. Breck has landed himself in trouble, he made a deal with a demon to save his sister’s life, and all he has to do is use his teleporting abilities to get objects for the demon in return… objects that belong to others. Manny hears that there is a teleporter popping up around town and decides to check him out and see if he understands what he is, but things take a strange turn when Manny discovers the trouble Breck has landed himself in and the reason. As Breck and Manny try to discover a way out from under the demon, the demon sets his sights on Manny, and Manny and Breck decide to fight fire with fire.

This is a great story that explores just what a teleporter could be capable of, while twining it with a touch of danger and a manipulating demon. When Breck made a deal with a demon he never thought he would be stuck chasing down trinkets, or being chased down by someone who has an ability or their own. Manny just wants to make sure that the new guy isn’t up to anything illegal, but when a life is on the line, he can’t say he wouldn’t have done the same thing. Working together, they discover that there are no limits when it comes to teleporting but they have to do some dodgy dealing if they are going to save Manda (Breck’s sister).

I really enjoyed this story with its dimension jumping and puzzle solving, watching as Manny and Breck begin to enjoy a relationship and how they save the day. I liked how they worked together to figure a way out for Breck and how they managed to fix things when everything went wrong. Their relationship was forged during a really difficult time for Breck, and you can see him being pulled in two when the demon gets impatient and begins pulling his strings…. do what the demon wants or be there for his mother and sister? Manny being with him and helping him really saves Breck in more ways than one. While Manny is a large part of this story, I couldn’t help but feel that it was really Breck’s story and although their relationship is special, it is really Breck’s trials that make this story great.

I recommend this to those who love paranormal abilities, dimension jumping, interesting beings, a relationship forged in hard times and a great ending.
