Blurb:  Pulling over to help at the scene of an emergency was the right thing for Dr. Madison Cahil to do.

But if emergency services didn’t arrive quickly, he would miss celebrating his anniversary at a swanky restaurant with his lover, Shane. He’d already disappointed the man he loved; now the whole night would be ruined. Not that Shane would make a scene. He’d smile sweetly and declare that it was fine. Madison hated that word. Fine never meant fine when Shane said it. Fine meant fuck off, asshole.

Review:  Dr. Madison Cahil is in a rush to get home to his lover for an anniversary celebration. On the way, he comes upon accident. What should be one of the happiest moments of his life could turn into one of the worst.

Lee Brazil always writes such sweet and charming stories. So if you want a very short, quick read, especially to kill time at a Doctor’s Office or any place you have to wait or a trek on the treadmill, give this author a try. You can always count on one of his books to take you away and make you sigh. I do have to say, I found this story a bit predictable, and the editing was a bit slack, but it still was a very good, sweet story, with hot mansex. The cover is awesome!

You also get two more free short stories. All Nighter and Summer Vacation. All three are sweet and charming in the always sigh-worthy Lee Brazil style.

I recommend this story to any one that likes doctors, sweet, loving stories, and hot mansex. And of course, Lee Brazil.

Review:  Encounter

Trevor is backstage trying to calm down for an audition for a part he really wants. He sees Kaspar and both are taken by each other. Kaspar says he can help Trevor relax. Both men agree to a one -time thing. Will this be the only time he sees Kaspar?

As usual this is a very sweet fast short story.  One that when you need something fast to  fill a few minutes , you can count on sweet hot and in this case a bit intriguing.

I recommend this to anyone that likes any of Lee Brazil’s stories, Sweet hot sex, and a hint of something out of this world.  If you like short and sweet you can’t go wrong!

You also get a couple of bonuses.

Finding Justice

Justice is tired of being kept hidden like he is Payton’s dirty little secret. Payton not coming home for their anniversary and saying they don’t have a real relationship to celebrate, Justice leaves. What ensues? Read it and see.

I absolutely loved this story. I am such a sucker for a love that someone will go to any length to find.  Yep I was hooked with this one. Swoon!

Plus you get yet another Bonus

Scenes; Nick

Nick is tired of feeling like he isn’t good enough for Jayden. Nick is just a nurse and Jayden is a singer in a popular band. Finding something in the laundry Nick finds the nerve to finally dump Jayden.

I loved this also. I could see me in Nick. I would have done the same.  Another great, hot story of a love that prevails.

Review: This story was about Arden Grey’s brother, Sebastian and her assistant, Rick. It really didn’t have any of the original Truth or Dare characters in it but, it was absolutely fabulous anyway. Whenever I need a fast story that I know will make me sigh, leave me breathless, and feel good all over when it’s done, I know I can count on Lee Brazil to deliver. This is a beautiful heartfelt story of friends to lovers, or better yet two men that have been in love for ten years and have acted on it for a year. Unfortunately, Rick has a past that keep him from giving in to his heart.

I recommend this book to everyone that loves good friends to lovers’ romance.  A hot mansex, makes ya feel good and sigh story. It’s a must read!

Review:  First of all, I want to say I’m a huge Lee Brazil fan. I was thrilled to see something paranormal by him. Sadly, it wasn’t what I thought it would be. As usual the romance between the two men was fabulous! I am such a sucker for a heartfelt, strong “til death do us part” type of romance and was not let down at all here. The shifter story just had something missing. I think maybe it was just the story was a bit short so that part got rushed to get in all the great sex.

Here’s the story in a nutshell. Luke is a wealthy man that seems to have it all, money a great house, a sexy boyfriend and a dark secret. Jeremy loves everything about his boyfriend. Luke. They dated a long time before moving in and he knew all about Luke’s monthly hunting trips. He thought when he moved in though, that they would stop, or at least he would be invited along. Neither happened and Jeremy became jealous thinking he must be having an affair so he follows him one month. So does he find Luke cheating? Is Luke in danger? Or is it Jeremy in danger? What is Luke’s dark secret? Who is hunting Luke and why? I’m not going to tell you. You will have to get the book and see.

I recommend this book to anyone that loves Lee Brazil, a tight loving romance, hot sex, and werewolves!

Blurb: Simon Carter has achieved unimaginable success and he owes it all to a man from his past whose scorn set fire to his ambition.

He plans to rest, relax, and spend a little time rubbing his ex-lover’s nose in his success. A visit to the Renaissance Fair brings this not-quite-so-simple- Simon nose to nose with his past and somehow revenge doesn’t seem quite so attractive.

Chase Garvin, Denver, Colorado’s very own Pie Man, is still incredibly handsome. What’s more, the more mature Chase is very appreciative of Simon’s talents.

When the old attraction flares between them, Simon and the Pie Man get caught up in tasting the wares, and neither counts the pennies.

Review:

Simple Simon met a pieman, Going to the fair;

Says Simple Simon to the pieman, Let me taste your ware.

Says the pieman to Simple Simon, Show me first your penny;

Says Simple Simon to the pieman, Indeed I have not any.

Twelve years and Simon still keeps that last memory of Chase breaking up with him. Those last words he said “It’s simple Simon. You lack ambition…” hunting him and pushing him toward his success. Now he has returned with a single goal, to show his old love just how ambitious he got. What Simon did not expect was how little does a twelve years older Chase care about that, for indeed when he shows up in front of him as a poor man, Chase only cares for him and makes whatever he can to get him back. Hastily made assumptions and unspoken words lead to misunderstandings that Simon was not prepared for. He came back to shove his success and fortune at his ex-lover’s face in a petty act of revenge and ends up falling all over for him, as if he ever stopped wanting the man. And Chase ends up making the same mistake he made twelve years ago. Can he make things right now? Can he win this new Simon and have a life with him?

This is a romance through and through. It somehow reminded me the Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks movies, very mellow and with a slight notch of humor. Although it was not entirely my cup of tea, I cannot deny that it had some appeal to me. The characters were cute and sexy, if a bit indifferent. I was more interested in the story itself than Simon and Chase. However their lovemaking made up a lot, I found the sex scenes quite fun and somewhat sensual. Some of them were indeed a bit over-sweet for my taste, but hey, I’m a very peculiar reader.

I’d recommend this story to romance lovers and anyone else in search for a light, enjoyable read. Have fun!!!

ARe: Lee Brazil – Less Than All

Review: Nicholas has a crush on Victor, his best friend’s older brother, but he knows that it is futile as Victor has to carry on the family name…even if he did notice him. Victor burns for Nicholas, but doesn’t act on it. Instead, sending Nicholas away, after catching him with his brother. But, now years later, he can’t fight the pull anymore. But, Nicholas won’t give him what he wants most, because Nicholas doesn’t believe Victor loves him.

This is a well written regency romance, showing a difficult time for gay men and their relationships. Victor finally gives into his longing for Nicholas, but Nicholas begins to run, Nicholas realizes that what he feels is deeper than just a fling and he panics when he realizes that Victor will have to marry and have children. Victor can’t understand why Nicholas is backing off and gets demanding with Nicholas. It is only later, after a heart to heart with Victor’s brother, that Nicholas wants to grab the memories with both hands.

Victor is typical of a Lord; he demands and his demands are met. But, with Nicholas, he can’t have what he demands and instead of asking and finding out why Nicholas refuses, he threatens Nicholas instead. Nicholas wants more than a passing fling and he does get in over his head with Victor. The thing is, they complement each other well, but because of the era, it’s a struggle for both of them. It isn’t until both of them confide in good friends, do they maybe see a solution. I liked the story and I thought the characters were well done for the time period. Both men’s attitudes also reflected that time and what sex we do see is erotic and hot.

I will recommend this to those who love historicals, regency, secret lovers, hot sex and a happy for now ending.

The Audience: Who Are You Writing For? by Lee Brazil

The Audience: Who Are You Writing For?

When I first started writing, I was writing for myself. I wrote stories the way I wanted them to be. Some of them had happy endings, some did not. Some people in them were unappealing, others were charming.

Then I started writing for publication. That changes things. Do you still need to tell your story, your way? Yes, absolutely. However…before you start writing, you need to think about who you’re writing for.

I told this very same thing to hundreds of beginning writers in my composition classes. The way you write your story/essay depends on who you’re addressing.  If you’re writing a paper on uniforms in public schools, and that paper is geared toward your friends, you’d take a different approach than you would if the paper were going to the school board or even the principal. You might talk to your friends in casual, chatty language, using slang and short hand that they will understand. Addressing the school board, you want to present logical clear arguments in scholarly language.

So, decide who you’re writing for.  Look at your story idea. I had an idea for a paranormal story about two men in a relationship. This story could go several ways depending on the audience I choose. It could be a paranormal (fantasy) with romantic elements. It could be a romance with paranormal elements.

In order to make the best choice, you have to look at the conventions of the genre. If you choose paranormal with romantic elements, then your story will need to focus primarily on the fantasy elements. The romance aspect will be a secondary story line. This type of story will get crossover readership between people who like both genres. Likewise, if you choose to write a romance with paranormal elements, then the focus is on the romance, the paranormal bits are window dressing. The focus changes as the type of story changes.

The audience for each type of story is different as well. Whether you please or displease your readers depends on your understanding of your audience. Readers of paranormal fiction have certain expectations. Readers of romances have certain expectations.

You can’t market your story as a romance with romance readers as your audience and then not deliver some form of Happily Ever After.

You can’t market your paranormal story to paranormal readers without any paranormal occurrences—for example a shape-shifter story in which no one shifts.

You can’t sit back and say that the genre isn’t realistic and you’re going to change it. Realistic fiction is not romantic fiction. It hasn’t been, ever. It is by definition remote from everyday experience. Byron’s hero, Don Juan, was not realistic. Cyrano, Romeo, Marc Antony? If you want to write reality, you’re writing literary fiction, and that’s a different market.

If you want to write romance, then you have to understand who you’re writing for. You’re writing for readers who expect you to be wearing your rose colored glasses. You are supposed to understand that Happily Ever After and building a relationship that is not based solely on sex and happenstance are important. Choosing how to get from hi to HEA is the author’s story.

If you can’t believe in HEA, even for other people, then you should probably take that into consideration. You might be an astounding writer of romantic paranormals and a so-so writer or paranormal romance. Don’t force the genre to meet your demands, choose the right genre, the right audience to start with.

I write romance, for romance readers. Who do you write for?

By the way- I have a new book out…I rather like it. It’s funny, and the heroes are cute and flawed…if you can live with selfish and manipulative (Hey, they deserve each other!) check it out…

My imperfect heroes, Val and Adrian,

are delighted to make your acquaintance.

The Librarian

Valentine Michaels has just taken a vow of celibacy. Adrian Grey intends to take full advantage of that vow to re-create his relationship with Val.

Val is at a crossroads in his life. A college dropout, he’s gone as far as he can in his career as a cosmetologist, owning his own style salon. He no longer finds satisfaction in it, though he’s put years into proving to his bigoted parents that a college degree and the veneer of straightness aren’t the only roads to success. They’d turned their backs on him, and he proved he didn’t need them to make it.

His love life is no better than his working life. His relationships always start with a bang and fizzle into boredom, or worse, anger.

Adrian has his own agenda for helping Val: he’s been in love with Val since they were freshmen. The intervening years of listening to Val’s gossip about his lovers and relationships have taught Adrian just what it was he did wrong all those years ago, and he thinks this time around he now knows exactly how to get—and keep—his man.

Review:  Ten years ago, Adrian and Val were roommates in college.  For one week, they were even a bit more.  But, even though their romance didn’t survive, their friendship has endured.

I loved this story!!!  I almost didn’t read it.  The title kinda threw me.  I think of librarians as little old ladies with auditory issues; not a sexy Dominant with a Master’s in Library Science. Not to mention one with a brilliant mind and a killer body.

Truly, this has got to be one of the best seductions ever written.  Adrian has waited ten years for the man he loves to get a clue.  Since that obviously isn’t happening, Adrian takes matters into his own hands.  Poor Val doesn’t know what hit him.  I almost wanted to feel sorry for Val, but he has spent so many years looking for love in all the wrong places.  A sneak attack was definitely in order.  There was a hint of bondage, but honestly, there is way too much love and respect for that to fly.

This story is well written.  Adrian might be the title character, but this is really the story of Valentino’s seduction.  And the beautiful thing was that most of that seduction was with their clothes on.  The lovin’ is hot and I can’t remember the last time I smiled so much, while reading a book.

I only pray that Lee Brazil stays in a nice, sweet relationship.  Cuz, if he ever goes prowling…no one would be safe.  The man’s mind is deliciously wicked. Highly recommend.
