Stryke First

(The Rock 05)
by

Sandrine Gasq-Dion

Rebel Stryker has had to fight to survive from the moment he was born to a heroin-addicted mother. Raised by his grandparents, his only mission in life was to succeed where his mother had failed. Now, he and his childhood best friends tour the world as a famous heavy metal band. Like any rags-to-riches young man, Rebel definitely enjoys the perks of being in the limelight.

But now something has changed.

Rebel never wanted to fall in love, shying away from relationships and relishing his ‘no worries’ rock-star persona. But there’s something about the band’s new manager that catches Rebel’s eye. Despite fighting it with everything he has, Rebel finds himself succumbing to man’s quiet ways. It doesn’t hurt that the guy loves Rebel’s grandpa — the one relationship that means the world to him.

Staying true to his name, Rebel fights against the tide of attraction drawing him in. But it’s only a matter of time before love finally strikes.

Stan Jackson is hiding a secret. A Very Big Secret. One he prays will never come to light, especially since life is pretty good now. He finally has a good job, and he considers the people around him friends — even if they don’t see him the same way. All he’s ever wanted in life is to blend in, not make waves, and move on through. Now, as the manager of the internationally famous Skull Blasters rock band, he is put squarely into bassist Rebel Stryker’s orbit. He spends a lot of time with Rebel’s grandfather, which is not only fun, but rewarding. Another big benefit is that Stan gets to see Rebel all the time. When his past catches up to him, Stan learns that he isn’t just the Skull Blasters’ manager.

He’s a part of their family.

Review: E-book review from December 2012…

Openly gay assassin Mateo Esposito has the perfect life. He kills people for a living and doesn’t even think twice as he pulls the trigger. His targets are murderers, rapists and pedophiles; so the fact that he doesn’t lose any sleep over them is no surprise. Until he stumbles upon Riley Flynn.

Riley Flynn is the CEO of Flynn Electronics. Not so openly gay, Riley stays safely behind the doors of his closet. After his mother died when he was a teenager, Riley was raised by his homophobic father. Riley is also Mateo’s next target.

Character development was precise as we watch Mateo go from predator to protector. The relationship that develops between the pair is amazing, even as they fight it, and then give in to it, only to come across yet another road block. Gasq-Dion definitely laid the ground work for many more books and promising storylines with the side characters as well. My personal favorite would be General “fuck it” Derek and Pruitt, I do so hope they get much more page time in the coming books.

This is an M/M erotic love story that is sensual and steamy! It is also fast paced and action packed with several twists and turns to keep you guessing.

Audio book review April 2016…

It’s always a joy when a favorite narrator breathes life into one of your favorite books. Boudreaux truly brings Mateo and Riley to life with tone, inflection and sometimes not so subtle nuances. I especially liked the desperation I could hear in his voice during a more dramatic part in the story.

I’ve probably read this book a dozen times or more so I knew full well how these two met, fell in love, were torn apart and the dangerous road travelled to bring them back together. Listening to the events unfold gave me a new insight into the story. You can read a book and imagine how something sounds or feels, Boudreaux was able to bring those sounds and feelings out for the characters with the voices he gave them.

I highly recommend this series to anyone that reads the genre. Whether you like shifters, paranormal, romance, passion, angst, you can find just about anything in this series. And now we have the promise of hearing the escapades and sexcapades of this Motley crew of men that make up the Skull Blasters and Shifters.

Very exciting!

WARNING: This book contains homosexual relations and crude language. A sneak peek at book 2 follows the ending!

Former Navy SEAL Axel Blaze lives a solitary life. He doesn’t do emotions, and he doesn’t do babysitting. Used to being on his own, his job consists of Wetwork (a charming term coined by the KGB) for his former Master Chief, Mac. When an out-of-the-ordinary job lands on his doorstep, Axel heads down a path that includes a famous heavy metal rock band and one quiet, vulnerable, guitar-shredding virtuoso named Gareth Wolf.

Gareth Wolf’s life changed in an instant when a car he was a passenger in crashed, hurting his brother’s best friend and the band’s lead guitarist. They created the band, Skull Blasters, as kids. Gareth had always been happy in the background, playing roadie. With the lead guitarist’s injury, Gareth is suddenly thrust into the limelight and into a frenzied life he never imagined for himself. Finally fed up with living a lie, Gareth comes out as gay in a newspaper interview and finds himself in the bulls-eye of a crazed stalker. Somebody wants Gareth hurt – or worse – and Mac has been hired to be sure that doesn’t happen. Babysitting duty is NOT Axel’s strong suit, but Mac won’t be budged.

Enter Axel Blaze.

Against his better judgment, the big man takes the job to protect the shy musician. The more time he spends with Gareth Wolf, the more he admires the man. Where’s a simple assassination when you need one? The situation becomes more volatile for each man as the attempts on Gareth escalate just as Axel finds himself falling for the quiet lead guitarist.

Strong, funny, smart-ass — and kinda sweet Axel is everything Gareth has ever wanted in a man. Too bad he’s off limits. As the stalker grows bolder, Gareth and Axel move closer emotionally – but is it too late? All Axel knows is that they don’t stand a chance if he can’t find the maniac trying to kill the man he’s come to care about. A lot.

Everyone knows that relationships that begin in pressured or volatile situations eventually fizzle out.

Or do they?

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

Now when I get a book written by Sandrine, I know right off the bat that not only will I be entertained but turned the hell on. There is no way that woman can ever write a book that is not gold. This is the first book in the Rock series and it was absolutely amazing. I loved the name of the band, The Skull Blasters. It was a hit for me.

Gareth was seven years younger than his brother, but he knew from the beginning that he was truly loved. He had listened to them practice and learned how to play the guitar. So when Paul, the lead guitarist, was injured in a car accident it was no surprise when his brother, Ransom brought him in. After some time, he had hated hiding out who he truly was. So when he came out, so did the sicko’s.

Axel was hired by Paul to protect Gareth. Once he not only met Gareth, but spent some time with him he wanted to do more than protect. When these two are together, you can tell that they will set Arizona on fire. In reading this you will meet the band. Ransom, Paul, Jinx, Harley, Rebel and Gareth are all hot and damn tempting. They love each other and protect each other with all that they have. So with someone out there trying to kill Gareth, the guys will do everything to protect their munchkin.

Once again Sandrine has given me a book that has made the top of the favorites list. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me everything I could want in a book and so much more. I can definitely see that this book is going to be one of those that are read many times over. I loved it and cannot wait to see what book two will give me.

I am sitting here on the edge of my seat, just waiting for the next book.

Tams’ Review:  ♥♥♥♥♥4.5 Hearts

Gareth Wolf is the openly gay guitar player for the hottest group climbing the charts, The Skull Blasters. Living your life in the limelight can be hard on anyone, and not only is Gareth dealing with the backlash being gay in the industry causes, he still has nightmares stemming from a car accident that left their former guitar player permanently injured, forcing Gareth to take the position. The threats to Gareth are increasing as of late, so their manager and his brother decide to hire a bodyguard to keep their youngest member safe.

Axel Blaze (yes, that is his name) is a former Navy Seal with all the accoutrements one would expect in that line of work. He’s hired muscle with a no-nonsense, bad attitude and he has the bulk, brains, talent and enormous guns to back it up. He is none too happy when his best friend slash boss assigns him babysitting duty for some spoiled rock star rich kid. Axel takes his job extremely seriously though. So as much as he would rather be anywhere else he puts all his talent and skill into the job and quickly realizes that not only is the threat against Gareth real, its deadly.

Two men forced to spend every waking moment together that loath each other on site is a recipe for disaster… or foreplay. Either way, Gareth and Axel have to learn to coexist and work together in order to neutralize the threat and literally save Gareth’s life. The attraction is mutual and mutually ignored for a while. When Gareth finally confesses his desires, Axel shoots him down, and then quickly changes his mind when Gareth is put in harm’s way. Axel worries he can’t be emotionally involved and do his job appropriately. And as the threat grows closer, bolder, he may be right.

Something new from the Author that brought us the bestselling Assassin/Shifter series. Gasq-Dion cements herself a place in the Rock & Roll genre with this hot new story, the first in a series that promises a lot of danger, pyrotechnics and sexy men dancing horizontally. What drew me into this story was the alternating POV, each chapter told from a different view-point between Gareth and Axel. It was nice to see certain things play out through each guy’s eyes. Their romance was not what I expected either. It was passionate and endearing when I was initially expecting something more volatile, but I assure you, it totally worked for them.

My only little teensy issue was toward the end several things happened in quick succession and I would have liked to see more elaboration for a few things. But overall I absolutely loved this book and will save it to my kindle to be revisited on many an occasion.

If you like stories with an edge, slow building romance with a hint of danger and intrigue, then you’ll love this one. Fans of Ann Lister’s Rock Gods series especially, and the boys from that series stop by and pay a visit to The Skull Blaster’s as well. Very excited to read more books in this series, I believe Jinx is up next and I have a feeling his story will be a bit more comical but interesting.

Blurb: Werewolf Locke Renfro has spent most of his life hunting and killing rogue werewolves — vicious murderers who take pleasure in causing misery and destroying lives. Including his own when they slaughtered his parents. After a rogue bites his lover, it triggers the process of turning him into a rogue also and Locke must kill the only man he ever thought he’d love.

Years later, the fates have finally given him a mate — smart, funny and sexy Mitch Devan. Locke is afraid to seal their bond, though, terrified that it will make Mitch a target of rogues who despise him — who would love nothing better than to murder his soulmate.

Mitch Devan has spent so long waiting for Locke Renfro to claim him as his own that he’s not sure everything will work properly if the time finally arrives. But Locke has slain more than his share of rogues; he is convinced that mating with Mitch will put the human at the top of the rogues’ revenge hit list. Mitch isn’t sure that would be any worse than his platonic existence with the man he adores. When a simple business trip lands him in grave danger, Mitch finds out exactly how far Locke will go to retrieve the key to his heart.

Loyalties are tested and enemies are revealed, as the Skull Blaster team comes together to rescue their own.

Review: Mitch Devan has been waiting so long for Locke Renfro to stake his claim on him, he’s certain he has developed carpel tunnel! Locke fears that claiming his mate will paint a target on the guys back and Locke has lost too much in his life to risk Mitch.

While Locke keeps Mitch at a constant arms-length, Mitch becomes more frustrated with each passing day. When Mitch is kidnapped by the Titans, it would seem that Locke’s refusal to mate was all in vain. Now the question is, will Locke and his motley crew of Shifters and Assassins find Mitch before it’s too late?

This is another one of the couplings in the series that I have been anxiously awaiting for several books now. Mitch didn’t join the team under the best of circumstance; he was an unwilling participant of the Rogue Shifters plans to destroy the Skull Blasters from the inside out.

When Mitch almost lost his life due to that bad decision, Connor gave him immortality. Learning that Locke was his mate frightened Mitch in the beginning, but the unwavering love and commitment that Locke shown Mitch, a man who was intent on destroying Locke’s extended family, well… it took Mitch by surprise. And now that Mitch has fully accepted their bond and anxiously awaits being claimed, Locke refuses.

Locke lost everyone and everything he loved at the hands of the Rogues and the Titans when he was younger. Now that he has found a new family and a new love with Mitch, he is hesitant to do anything to jeopardize it. His body, no his wolf, screams for him to claim Mitch.

This elite team of Assassins, Shifters and Immortals is about to learn that the Titans are not only more powerful than they initially thought, they are far closer to home than they ever imagined. More secrets are revealed and the team learns that someone they once called friend is in league with the Titans. The game is about to change and the Skull Blasters will have to shift their focus as well if they stand a chance at winning the war that is almost at their doorstep.

There were a few twists and turns in this story that took me by surprise. I have to say, I was on the edge of my seat for the most part. Twenty something books into a sturdy series the Author definitely has to bring something new to the table to keep fans interested, and that is exactly what Gasq-Dion does with Locke and Key.

Of course her dry, witty style of writing is ever-present. As is the passionate edge she always gives her couples, each different and often surprising. The game has changed and I’m not only intrigued by this new turn of events, I’m anxious to see where it takes my beloved team of Assassins and Shifters.

This is book 24 in a series that must be read in order. I hear you. I know you are thinking there is no way, too many books to catch up on. I promise you it is so worth it. Once you start reading, you won’t want to stop. The stories are all the same, but different, they flow together so well but continually change things up just enough to keep you not only interested, but chomping at the bit for that next book.

Definitely a must read series and the best MM Shifter series available to date, in my opinion. There is drama, mystery, suspense, love, angst, passion, laughter, camaraderie and so much more. A little something for everyone I bet.

Ryde the Lightening by Sandrine Gasq-Dion

Blurb: Siberian pack alpha Dane Durov endured a lot in his young life and managed to survive, so he always assumed that he had a special purpose in life. If he’d had to guess, though, ‘bodyguard to the child of an Olympian god’ wouldn’t have been his first guess.

Frankly, he still thought it sounded like something out of a romance writer’s imagination. Romance. The mere word reminds Dane that love brings nothing but exploding pain. A man had ripped his heart out and left him hollow, but spending time with Ryder Winters is weakening Dane’s defenses. The young demigod is sweet, caring, beautiful — and dangerous. Dane finds himself daring to laugh again — but love?

Ryder Winters is shocked — no, stunned beyond reason — when he finds out that Zeus is his biological father. Zeus. The god of the sky and ruler of all Olympian gods. As a demigod under constant threat, Ryder needs around-the-clock protection. He struggles to deal with his newfound superpowers, but he also battles his growing feelings for his guardian, Dane Durov.

A trip to Siberia with Dane intensifies the confusion and adds lust and love to the mix for Ryder as he comes face to face with the past Dane has been trying to forget.

Things spiral out of control as Ryder’s powers are unleashed and Dane struggles to come to terms with his growing love for the man he’s willing to protect at any cost.

Reviewer: Tams

Review: Dane Durov is a transplant Skull Blaster, having joined the team when he was rescued from the Rogue’s in Siberia, sadly only after they’d killed most of his pack members. He is a big, brooding, bad ass werewolf that doesn’t trust easily. He loved once, had a mate, but that love was broken when Markus learned he was a shifter.

Then it was shattered when Markus died.

Part of the reason he keeps Ryder at arm’s length is because Ryder is so young and beautiful, and has an opportunity to live such a full life, without all the baggage Dane would bring into a relationship. Mostly it’s because Dane has locked his heart and thrown away the key.

Ryder has been to hell and back in his young life, literally, just to survive. When he came out to his parents they tried to drown him, and since then his love of the water has turned into a guttural fear. A fear he is working hard to overcome. Ryder makes great progress with the help of his protector, one sexy shifter with a bad attitude.

The writing is on the wall for these two, but Dane is nothing if not stubborn. And even after he succumbs to his feelings for the young, delicious Olympian, Dane manages to piss off the young man who has control over the lightning. Dane will have to say goodbye to the pain of his past if he stands a chance at a future with Ryder.

This book was just so much fun. I absolutely love Gasq-Dion’s dry, witty sense of humor that bleeds over into her characters. One of my favorite lines in the story, “what if lightening shoots out my dick?” and that is just one of many one liners that had me rolling while I was reading this book. It’s not all fun and games though.

There is the constant threat of attack from the army of Rogues, and they surely have a knack for popping up at the wrong time. And then we learn that Ryder’s parents are coming up for parole, so on top of everything else he has going on in his life, he has to consider whether or not he wants to testify at the hearing.

The perfect balance of drama, angst, humor and action all circulate to complete this latest addition to the Olympians series. Just a couple of side notes… a missing Olympian is found in this book and I’m intrigued. There is something mentioned about Thor, or a distant relative. It looks like Nate might be getting him a little sum sumthin!

And close to thirty books into this world (between the Assassin/Shifter books and the Twelve Olympians books) I am still completely engaged, engrossed and enamored with this world and these characters Gasq-Dion has created.

A MUST read for any shifter fans out there. But if you like paranormal romance, some kick ass characters and intricately plotted storylines, then you are going to love this series. You really have to start at the beginning though. At the very least, start with the first Olympian story, if not the first Assassin/Shifter story.

Reviewer: Tams

Review: Tiernan Callahan comes from a long line of New York’s finest, with family members that have carried both guns and hoses. Tiernan became a cop while his brother Michael became a fireman, and the baby of the family Mason, joined the military in an effort to separate himself from his commanding older brothers. Tiernan’s downward spiral started with the death of his little brother in the line of duty, and was only compounded when his family learned that Mason was gay.

Tiernan has made one bad decision after another since Mason’s death, but none of them haunt his every waking thought like Dario Ramos. Ex military war vet himself, Dario managed to make it home, but he carries both emotional and physical scars from his time in the military. And the asinine cop with red streaked hair and a mean streak that is longer than Dario is tall, continues to work his last good nerve. But for some insane reason, the two of them are constantly drawn into each other’s orbit and over time, they start to see each other in a new light.

Both men are large, in charge, domineering, alpha male personalities that seem to do nothing but piss each other off. It’s when they stop yelling at each other that things really get interesting. It takes Tiernan a while to decipher what it is he feels for Dario. It’s been ingrained in his psyche all his life that gay is bad by his over the top catholic mother.

But there is something about Dario that makes Tiernan want to take a chance, makes the brooding Irish cop smile, all the damn time. He will have to come to terms with his sexuality and make amends with someone he truly wronged before he can even consider where he wants to take his relationship with Dario.

There is really nothing sexier than two sexy as sin, controlling alpha males tripping over each other on their way to the bed then wrestling to see who will come out on ‘top’. It takes these two a little while to accept their mutual attraction as exactly what it is, chemistry. For a while, there I wanted to bang their heads together! But once they shared that first steamy kiss while Dario had Tiernan pushed up against the wall, well from that point on, they can’t keep their clothes on or their hands off each other. Even Tiernan’s partner Danny tells him to stop it. They are giving him a cavity.

The Men of Manhattan series is all about true love and second chances. Both Tieranan and Dario have lost a lot in their lives, but only together can they hope to heal. Love is a powerful thing. This book has all Gasq-Dion’s usually quirky one-liners, firey personalities, a well-written storyline, and flawless character development. And she has already sparked my curiosity for the possibility of a couple different couplings in future installments of this series, I do hope that Danny and Bobby are next!

I highly recommend this series especially if you are a fan of strong alpha male types and are a hopeless romantic like me. Start at the beginning though, there are details that won’t be as crisp for you if you just jump right into this book.

Review: This is the second book in a series that should be read in order to recognize characters and traits you would otherwise miss.

The angel Gabriel is a keeper of souls that likes to bend the rules. He already had to clean up an angel in trainings mess when he let the wrong man die, sending the soul back to earth to be with his beloved. His job is to protect, nurture, and be the guardian angel of his charges, the souls he is charged with protecting. He doesn’t feel, doesn’t touch, doesn’t love… until now. His latest charge is different from the start. Gabriel can feel the soul inside him, he can hear his charge in his mind, and this should not be possible.

As time flies by Gabriel watches his charge, Luke, grow from an infant to a child then an angry teenager and, eventually, into a man. The problem is, as Luke grows, so do Gabriel’s feelings for him. The very fact that Gabriel feels anything for Luke at all defies logic for the angels. He continually blurs the lines between what he is and isn’t allowed to do. Going above and beyond to ensure Luke is safe. And stranger still is the fact that Luke can actually see Gabriel, another impossibility.

Luke has grown into a strong, fierce man. He is a football star, a soldier, a devoted son and a loyal best friend. But he has never been able to find that one man that he could love, he has never been able to open his heart to anyone except his Guardian Angel, Gabriel. He can sense when Gabriel is close, he has talked to him and slowly fallen in love with the angel that held his very soul in his hands. But there are rules that cannot be broken, and if they are there are consequences that one rule breaking angel has not considered.

Oh but this book made me cry, and laugh, and cry some more. It was beautiful, amazing, passionate, and just fanfuckingtastic. I was so enamored with the character of Gabriel, the twink angel with curly blood hair, amber eyes, and button nose. But it was his spirit and depth of feeling that endeared me to him, his utter need that was crushing him, his need to feel Luke, to just touch him once. My heart broke for him when Luke was a boy and lashed out at his guardian, blaming him for his father’s death.

But time heals all wounds and as Luke grows into a man and becomes wiser in the ways of life and of the world, he comes to realize that Gabriel couldn’t have saved his father. He also comes to realize that the reason he has never been able to love another is because his soul was claimed from the moment it was created in heaven, he was claimed by Gabriel.

I am in awe of SGD’s prowess when it comes to the human spirit. It is always evident in some way in all her books. I especially love the way she squeezes the word ‘but’ into the most random place, but it always makes perfect sense after you’ve read the sentence, and you know you are reading an SGD book, just with that one word oddly placed.

A story rich with love, passion, tenderness and the amazing power of soul mates. A must read for fans of the genre, fans of SGD’s work, or just anyone that needs to read a story that will make them laugh while crying and leave a huge smile on their face.

Blurb: Brock Holloway has it all — money, friends, a bitchin’ car and a promising football career. At least, that’s what people see. Inside, though, Brock is fighting for something he knows he can never have: Unconditional love. As the child of Aphrodite, he is worshipped, admired, wanted – but never loved.

Zack Duran is a wolverine shifter — and not a nice guy. Zack’s shifter side is always in control, often making him heartless and unfeeling. When Zack is assigned to guard Brock Holloway, his tactless wolverine tendencies become even more prevalent and Zack has to fight his shifter personality AND his genuine feelings for the beautiful football player.

A near tragedy shakes him to his core, and Zack can no longer fight the feelings he has for Brock. But giving in to his emotions may come at too high a price. A startling secret charges Brock with the nearly impossible task of taming Zack’s beast. Is he up to the challenge? Can Zack give him what he needs? And with danger working overtime, can they finally be together as they were intended?

Review: Brock Holloway is great at keeping up appearances. From the outside looking in, you would see a successful football player with money, friends and the ability to get any guy he wants into his bed. The view from the inside is completely different though. Brock is lonely and vulnerable, he is abandoned by his adoptive parents and while he can get any guy he wants, they only want sex, they can’t give him the one thing he craves more than anything else…can Love.

Zack Duran has been tasked with protecting Brock, much to his dismay. Brock is beautiful, smart and funny. But he sleeps with anyone that smiles in his direction, and it infuriates Zack. The wolverine shifter already struggles with keeping his beast at bay, and when he sees Brock lowering himself and allowing men to just use him and then toss him aside, it makes Zack even angrier. He refuses to admit or accept that he is falling in love with the sexy, blonde Olympian.

Forced to work together by the bosses, James and Wayne, Brock and Zack slowly become more comfortable with each other. As they get to know each other, they learn that they aren’t so different after all. Both have lost their parents, both are alone and vulnerable, and soon the mutual attraction takes the lead.

They will have to learn how to express their feelings and not keep things bottled up if they stand a chance at a future together though. One wrong word from Zack could send Brock spiralling back to his old ways. And Zack still doesn’t know how to control the beast that fights him for control every day. What if he lost that control and hurt Brock? Could he live with himself?

I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever for Brock’s story. He has been a secondary character for several books now, starting with his relationship with Nik and his friendship with the shifters. I had no idea just how wounded and fragile he was, which is a testament to Gasq-Dion’s writing.

Brock is portrayed as the man whore, beautiful, confident and oozing sex appeal. When you get a look inside him though, you see a completely different picture. One of loss, hope, and disappointment, to the point of suicide. It added a depth and reality to the story that wouldn’t have been there otherwise.

Then there is Zack, the loner wolverine shifter that was taken and abused because of his genes. His very DNA is so unstable that the team fears Zack won’t be able to control himself. There is one thing that can bring him back from the brink of insanity though, Brock. Their connection is complicated, strange and endearing, and it’s the only thing that will save them.

I have to say that this is some of Sandy’s best work to date. While her books are always amazing and she has this ability to weave multiple characters and storylines and not leave the reader confused, this book was reminiscent of the early days in the Assassin/Shifter series. While all her books are a love story at heart, sometimes you get a glimpse into the raw actuality of what some people have to survive in order to find that love.

My favourite stories from this group of characters are Wyatt and Preston (An Ignited Passion) and Scott and Tristan (Pleading the Fifth). What these three books, stories have in common is the way the characters fight with everything they have and risk it all for the love that they share. So, thank you Sandy for going back to the basics with this story and giving us a gritty love story in the end.

This is a must read for fans of Assassin, Shifter, Paranormal and that hard-earned Happy for now. If you are new to the Skull Blasters world I suggest starting at the beginning, at the very least, start with the first Olympians book.

Blurb: Matthew Hawke’s professional life is soaring as high the powerful bird of prey whose image is inked on his back. He’s at the top of his game as the owner of an advertising agency that is scooping up prime accounts like a mighty hawk wrapping its talons around an unfortunate ground rodent. Yes, work is good. Too bad his love life has more in common with the dying rodent than the triumphant hawk.

When the thought of a sexy man trumps actually being with a sexy woman, Matthew thinks it might be time for a change. And there IS a gorgeous man at the gym he’s noticed.

Drakon Mavros is working his shapely ass off to make ends meet. His administrative assistant job at a messenger service is steady, but the money he gets from his more creative job pays most of the bills. An ex-boyfriend took his confidence, his trust and his self-esteem and Drakon is afraid to take another chance at love. When an adorably goofy man at his gym actually hurts himself trying to flirt with him, Drakon can’t resist falling under Matt’s spell. He makes Drakon feel good about himself again and praises his artistic talent – neither of which his ex ever did.

As the men begin to fall for one another, it appears nothing can go wrong – they seem to be soul mates. Secrets and lies can crack even the firmest foundation, though. It takes a true master to shore it up so that it never crumbles. Is love the mortar that can restore trust and faith and bind men forever? Only time will tell. Can Drakon and Matt take that chance?

Review: Matthew Hawk seemingly has it all. A successful business, money and the freedom the latter affords him. The thing he is missing is someone to share it all with. He’s always noticed men, but never pursued a relationship with one, that is until he meets a gorgeous dark-skinned man with a brilliant smile at the gym. Matthew is so rusty at flirting that he winds up running right off the treadmill, it’s absolutely hysterical. Drakon thinks it’s endearing that someone so good-looking would risk a bump on the head and utter embarrassment to ask him out, much less even be interested in him.

Drakon was put through the ringer by a manipulative and cheating ex that squashed his hopes and dreams, telling him he was nothing, he was worth nothing, and would always be nothing. The man was also married with a child. As a result Drakon rarely dates, trusts few people, and cannot stand to be lied to. He makes a comment early on to Matthew that he would never date a ‘big wig’, which makes Matt cringe, and lie about the fact that he is THE big wig of Hawk Advertising.

The question is, when Drake finds out will he push Matt away as just another liar? Or will the way he feels about the successful businessman override his fear or flight reflex?

A fitting addition to the ‘Men of Manhattan’ series. As with the other couplings in previous stories, these two guys have a definitive push and pull, they complement each other well. They just have to figure out how to go about it. Matthew has always dated woman, knowing that he found men attractive as well. He just never acted on that emotion. Drake has deep-rooted trust issues over his past relationship with the worst kind of man. So together, they can show each other how to feel things they’ve never felt. Love, compassion, trust and an equality in their relationship that they both not only crave, but demand from one another.

This is a must read series, hell, a must read author! Gasq-Dion has an uncanny ability to express emotion and passion in her books while still conveying a story. I can’t wait to see what this Motley Crew of friends gets themselves into next. Fingers crossed the fifth book in this series is for Ryan and SID!

Blurb: Cole Ryker has been a man on a mission since the second he laid eyes on tall, dark and dirty-talking Ross Collins. That mission? To get the macho Delta Force soldier into his bed and out of his head, putting an end to his obsession. When Ross finally agrees to a date, Cole is overjoyed – and, frankly, rather surprised. Ross is like no man he’s ever met. When one date leads to another and another, the men struggle to sort out their feelings. Ross Collins is in full command of everything in his life. When Cole Ryker hits on him – and keeps hitting on him – something in Ross is drawn to the confident fire fighter and the uncertainty that comes with letting someone else take the lead. Time with Cole is intoxicating, unlike anything Ross could have imagined. He’s falling fast and Cole is right there with him.

But everyone has secrets, don’t they? Ross is hiding the fact that he’s a werewolf, and Cole is terrified his own past relationship will ruin any chance he has of finding happiness with Ross. There’s also the matter of a man from Ross’ past who’s pretty determined to stake his own claim on the soldier. Truths explode as quickly and terrifying as a five-alarm fire, putting relationships in jeopardy and loved ones in danger. Is there an escape or will their love turn to ashes?

Review: Ross Collins refuses to be just another notch in Cole’s bed post, but the gorgeous fire fighter is relentless in his pursuits for the ex Delta Force, sex on a stick member of the Skull Blasters supernatural team. Part of it is Ross’s fear that if anyone finds out the truth about him, that he is in fact a werewolf, they won’t be able to see past that and fear him, leaving him alone still. The other part is simple annoyance, Cole grates on his last good nerve. The problem is that Cole has, in fact, gotten under Ross’s skin.

Since that first glance, Cole Stryker has not been able to get Ross off his mind. As hard as Ross refuses his advances, the harder Cole pours on the attention. When Ross finally succumbs to the constant barrage of affection and says yes to a date with Cole, even Cole is taken aback for a moment. The first thing these two will have to learn is how to communicate. Ross wants to be cherished by his mate, loved like all the other mates he see’s around him daily. Cole thinks that if he gets Ross into bed, that he’ll be able to curb his appetite for the man, wrong! But that first kiss doesn’t go quite as planned. Still, Ross feels something there. But when he tries to slow it down and do things right, Cole bolts. He doesn’t want a relationship with Ross, just a fling, right? Or so he tries to tell himself.

This will prove to be one of the most challenging romances in this series that has more than proven it has sustenance as well as longevity. First, they must learn to talk to each other, and then they have to trust each other with the truth. Cole’s past is something he hides, runs from and refuses to talk to anyone about except his best friend. He’s been hurt, and I mean hurt bad. Ross will have to share his secret with Cole before he’s ready and the man he’s falling in love with doesn’t take it nearly as well as Ross had hoped. Cole says some extremely harsh things and pushes Ross away. When he finally pulls his head out of his ass and realizes that he loves Ross, unconditionally, will it be enough for Ross to forgive him for the words he said out of anger, fear and confusion?

Dirty Ross definitely earns its title. When these two hook up, it’s dirty dirty! But it’s so passionate and sensual that neither of them knows what to do with it. As I said, Cole has been hurt so he is not used to someone being gentle and loving, caring about his needs first. Ross has waited so long for his mate that he wants everything to be perfect. He’ll have to adjust his views on love and commitment as well, as nothing in life is perfect, and it isn’t for any of the other mates either. Can these two find the balance that is perfect for them?

I love the constantly continuing stories that flow throughout all the books in this series. Each instalment is engaging and intriguing as there are always new twists and turns. While it would seem each member of the skull blaster team and/or the shifters has a specific purpose, that purpose is ever evolving and weaving itself with the other characters in the series. New challenges, new characters and new loves make themselves known in Dirty Ross. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, seriously hoping that it’s Killian and Stone! This is the best M/M sifter series there is out there today. Simply a must read, but start at the beginning with A Marked Man (book 1) if you haven’t started the series yet.

Review: Chaz Savage had it all, a successful NFL career and budding relationship with one sexy little Russian, Lev Chirkoff. The closeted football player starts to turn heads turning up everywhere with Lev, but he assures everyone they are just good friends. But that was then, and this is now, now Chaz is a firefighter and one of the few humans that are privy to the true heritage of the Skullblasters unit. But he still loves Lev, misses him, and thinks about that man every damn day.

Six years ago, Lev Chirkoff made a deal with the devil that cost him the man he loved. Now back in Seattle as the newest recruit for the elite Skullblasters unit of Assassin’s and Shifter’s, Lev is brought face to face with that man. And it’s anything but a warm welcome. Chaz knows about the team, about the wolves, his best friend was saved by one, and fell in love with one before becoming one. So he can’t wrap his brain around Lev thinking he would not love him because he’s a shifter. But Chaz doesn’t know the whole story, and Lev fears losing him all over again once he tells Chaz the truth.

Lev has lost everyone and everything in his life that mattered and subsequently secluded himself in Siberia while he learned to control his wolf. He knows that returning to Seattle will open old wounds, but he didn’t expect the wash of emotions when he sees Chaz for the first time in six years. Chaz is angry, no volatile is a better term, but there is still love in the depths of those sad angry eyes. Lev as well reacts to Chaz invading his space immediately. He still wants this man more than anything.

There is a lot to resolve, but it doesn’t take either man long to realize that they still love each other. That they never stopped loving each other. They will have to share everything, even the painful truths, and deal with them to get beyond their own hurt and face the oncoming threat now seems intent on getting Chaz as well as the team’s young charges, the Olympians. Lev just got him back, he refuses to lose Chaz again, but sometimes fate has other plans.

Classic Sandrine! Colourful storylines, witty dialogue, passionate love and a group of men and shifters that will protect each other and their own with such ferocity that it’s downright frightening. As each of these new books progress, there is a sister story for the Twelve Olympians series, but everything always ties in together. And we are starting to see more and more characters within each story as the threat from Petey and the Rogues grows closer. I love how Sandrine focus’ on the current pairing, but always manages to make sure we stay in contact with favourites and give us a juicy morsel of some fun pairings to come.

This is a must read series, still my favourite M/M series, I love how the author manages to continually bring us something fresh twenty something books in. You MUST start at the beginning, seriously, you must. Each new instalment is just one piece of a very large puzzle that you have to have an outline for first, and then add the pieces as they fit. Another success for Sandrine Gasq-Dion and the Skullblasters!

Blurb: Army Ranger Slater Cassidy has a very special – very sexy – target in his sights. Meeting gorgeous, smart, uber-snarky Casper Kennedy was the highlight of Slater’s last trip home to New York. The soldier in him carefully plans his conquest. Unfortunately, Casper’s wearing some seriously strong armor and Slater’s charm offensives bounce right off. Casper’s refusal to fall for him is puzzling – not to mention incredibly annoying. When Slater gets leave again after gruelling back-to-back tours in Afghanistan, all he wants is another shot at wooing Casper. He jumps right into the battle for the other man’s heart, but Casper does not intend to entertain the troops. A heartbreaking revelation changes the rules of romantic warfare, and Slater suddenly realizes he doesn’t just want Casper. He wants to capture his heart, too.

Casper Kennedy is fighting a losing battle. A certain outrageously demonstrative Army Ranger has been a thorn in his side since his last trip home – and the main character in his steamiest dreams. Now he’s back. He launches an all-out sensual assault and no matter how hard Casper pushes Slater away, the man somehow manages to inch closer. So close, in fact, that Casper’s once-impenetrable defenses are in danger of collapsing. Should he throw up the white flag and take a chance at love? Or start firing back and keep his heart protected? When the handsome Ranger shows his true colors, Casper just might have to surrender the fight.

Review: Slater Cassidy is just a few days away from his long-awaited leave. On his last leave home, he met an acquaintance of his brother and was immediately taken with the man. Since then he has let loose an all out assault consisting of emails, instant messaging and singing telegrams among other things, in an attempt to gain Casper’s affections. But Casper has a strict no military men rule, so he refuses to succumb to the mutual attraction he feels for the army Ranger.

Slater pursues Casper maddeningly. The man will not take no for an answer. As strong as he comes on though, Casper pushes away. When Slater accidentally walks in on a business meeting and the client wants Slater to be the face of their new campaign, Casper ends up forced into a business relationship with the insufferable, sexy man. Eventually, Slater’s diligence pays off and Casper goes out with him. Persistence pays off and it seems that these two just might get their happy ever after, after all.

Life has a way of throwing you curve balls though, and when Slater is injured when he returns to Afghanistan, Casper fears that the past may be repeating itself.

This was just a fast, fun read with a slight dose of angst and a lot of love and some steam. You learn more about Casper’s past and why he is so adamant in his refusals of Slater’s affection. The courting was a hoot as well! I just loved turning each page in anticipation of what Slater would pull off next in his attempts to woo Casper. And then when things came to a head and the Casper became the strength for Slater, it was so endearing and loving, I shed a tear… or two.

Gasq-Dion is one of those buy now, ask questions later authors for me. If her name is on a book, it’s pretty much a given that it’s going to be fantastic. She has a way of making snarky, sexy. And writing bad boys that make your heart skip a beat, and then make you frown because they are all definitively gay. Well written, perfectly descriptive, a bit of drama and a whole lot of laugh aloud fun!
Lord, I hope the next book in this series is Slater’s out spoken best friend Ramos and the jackass Tiernan. It would be such good fun to watch Ramos whip his ass into shape. And then f**k him senseless!!

Review:  Justice for Skylar is the first book in a new companion series to the Assassin/Shifter series we have come to know and love by this bestselling author. Over the last several books in the A/S series, we’ve gotten to know the young group of misfits that have taken solace within the Pride safe house that is run by several of our shifters and humans, particularly Caden and Kellan. Caden considers all of them to be like his children. He dotes on them and protects them. So when Petey and the rogues come after his boys, it gets real ugly real quick!

Skylar Fox had been on his own since he was 16. Working tricks on the streets just to put food in his mouth. All of that changed the day he walked into the Pride safe house. Now he’s finishing school, living in a house with his friends under the protection of Caden and the rest of the guys, and being courted by the sexiest Italian shifter on the planet. At first Skylar cannot believe that Justice Salvatore would want him, truly want to be with him and love him. He has come to think of himself as worthless and unlovable because of the bad things he had to do to survive when he lived on the streets. But Justice is bound and determined to prove to Skylar that he can and does love him, unconditionally.

Justice only ever loved one other person, a human girl, the daughter of his father’s beta. A rogue attack left her dead and Justice broken, he hadn’t been able to protect her. He will be damned if he won’t protect Skylar! As the story unfolds, we learn even more about Skylar and his friends like Elijah and Stone. But we also learn more about the shifters, especially the Salvatore’s and why the rogues want them all so badly. Skylar and his friends all have certain abilities that Justice and the other’s have begun noticing as of late. And as Justice and Skylar are learning about each other, building a strong foundation for a lasting relationship, they are also learning more about Skylar’s ability. Everything comes to a heated conclusion when someone from Justice’s past threatens not only his future with Skylar, but Skylar’s life. Someone is going to die. The question is who?

At 22 books into the Assassin/Shifter series, Gasq-Dion has come up with a nice twist to breathe new life into these stories. Over the years, we’ve fallen in love with all of these characters, families, shifters, and assassins. We’ve had mates that had to grow up to be together, psychotic FBI agents falling in love with the head of the Russian Mob, adorable wolves that were born mated and so many more plot lines it would take me all day to write about them. Now we have the introduction of ‘The 12 Olympians’ starting with Skylar. The gods have sent these young adults to assist James, Wayne, and their groups in the battle that is to come. Even the powers of the shifters as well as their animals have evolved as of late. I love that the author is constantly evolving as well with new stories, couples and struggles throughout this series.

The A/S series is my favorite M/M series. The writing is always detailed, complex, and intriguing, as are the stories and characters. There is a lot going on within the series as a whole and then within each book as well. If you’re a fan of action, suspense, drama, shifters, hot sweaty sexy naked men whose mission in life is to love their partner completely (and don’t mind displaying said love for us to enjoy and usually on the X rated level!) then this is a must read series for you!

Up next is ‘At Year’s End’ I believe, and it cannot release soon enough.

Blurb:   Jesse Salvatore has had it. He’s the youngest of three brothers — and the only one born without the werewolf gene. Because he’s human, his brothers, Jaxon and Justice, treat him as if he’s helpless. They constantly battle deadly rogue wolves and won’t let him anywhere near the fight. When he meets Noah King, he knows he’s found his soulmate in the werewolf and soldier. Just as life seems to be brightening, big brother Justice forbids Jesse to see Noah. The two men sneak time together when they can, but it’s not enough. More than a year later, the rogues have targeted Jesse and Justice has no choice but to let Noah protect him.

Noah King has never been in love. One-night stands are more his style. But the first time he sees Jesse Salvatore, his world is flipped upside down by the hot blond-haired, green-eyed human. What’s not to love? Jesse is sweet, smart, gorgeous, and badass. Only one thing stands in their way: Justice Salvatore. When Jesse’s life is threatened, Noah is entrusted with keeping him safe.

Of course, no plan is ever foolproof, and a mission to protect one man changes the lives of many.

Review:  Noah King has been in love with Jesse Salvatore since the first time he laid eyes on him. As the youngest Salvatore brother, and a human, he’s rarely left alone and strictly forbidden to date Noah who is a shifter. Jesse is a former Navy SEAL and no stranger to danger. He is beyond fed up with not just his brothers but Noah as well treating him as if he’s made of glass. Over the years, Jesse and Noah have managed a few stolen moments and when they finally kissed, sparks flew, like literally… the lights were flickering, and sparks were flying. Recent attacks by the rogue werewolves have brought them dangerously close to Jesse and the team now knows that they, the rogues, have targeted Jesse.

It takes a real man to admit when he’s wrong, and Justice Salvatore is real big man! With his attention already torn watching after the young human that has caught his eye, Skylar, he asks Noah to protect Jesse. With the assistance of an unpredictable ally, Noah and Jesse go into hiding. The journey they take isn’t just about self-preservation and protecting Jesse, it’s a journey of self-awareness as well. Both men learn more about each other as individuals and as a couple in just a few short days than they have in all the years they’ve known each other. And Jesse’s true nature is revealed when Noah is in mortal danger.

Can I just say it’s about damn time that we, fans of this series, got us some Jesse and Noah love! I have been rooting for this couple for about six books now I think. And let me just say, once these two get started, I don’t think even the fates could have stopped them. After all, they have a couple of years of pent-up sexual frustration to deal with. Again, Gasq-Dion managed to grab onto something fresh and add it to the storyline. Whatever pre-conceived notions you may have about these two as a couple, forget it, they will surprise you.

As per all the previous books in this series, there is a cameo appearance from several beloved characters. But something a little different I’ve noticed in the last three books, the main couple has the majority of the focus. I like that little shift in the writing from Gasq-Dion. I hope she continues to evolve and bring exciting, fresh new characters and backgrounds to the stories. I thought that I would be most anticipating Justice for Skylar, and while I’m anxious for that coupling, I’m really really looking forward to Killian and Stone now as well. Of course, there is still the Jaxon and Elijah story, and Matty and Kane.

Review:  Jonas Brooks is an alpha and a shifter member of the elite Skull Blasters unit. He’s raised his son Jude, who is also a shifter, alone since his wife’s death. He never thought he was or would be attracted to another man. But ever since that unplanned, well-placed kiss from Jackson, he’s starting to re-think things. Jackson Murphy is also an alpha and a shifter among many within the team. He’s loved Jonas from afar for years, but Jonas continually pushes him away.

When the wolves within their packs get together and set their alphas up on a dinner date, Jackson is certain that Jonas is finally starting to let his guard down. It’s during their second date that Jonas succumbs to his obvious attraction to Jackson and the two have each other for desert! Soon they are sent on a rescue mission to Siberia after learning that John Quinton has been attacked. There they will learn that Fate is not always right and some bonds are meant to be broken.

I loved the push and pull in this book, there was no angst. Jackson knows what he wants and makes no secret of it, but he respects Jonas and doesn’t push. He wants Jonas to come to him on his own terms, and come to him he does. It’s not as long as some others in the series, so the events unfolded rather quickly, but the content wasn’t lacking in any way. For being a straight female, Gasq Dion has an unbelievable knowledge of the male persuasion… and an even better knowledge of how to bend them to her will and make them scream. Oh, wait, that was Jackson bending Jonas. My bad!!

EVERYTHING that I love about this author and her stories was there. Passion, emotion, humor, anxiety and yet another twist in Gasq Dion’s shifter world. The sex between Jackson and Jonas is electric, sort of like their attraction. There were even a few times in this book that I was full on snort laughing. Jackson and Jonas were both previously married to women so they go to their packs for assistance in the guy/guy department. Jonas talking to Jude about the ins and outs (pun intended!) of having sex almost made me piss myself! This book, this series, this author are a must read for fans of the m/m genre.

Blurb:    Years ago, sensitive Jude Brooks got tired of watching junior high life through the vents in his locker. Unfortunately, handsome Hayden Cox’s favorite pastime was putting him in there. When Jude’s werewolf friends torment Hayden for being human, he takes it out on distractingly beautiful Jude. A lot.

Tired of having his son picked on, pack member Henry Cox moves his family away. “Cox the cock” is gone – so why does Jude feel disappointment mixed with his exhilaration? In another city, Hayden is finally being accepted – so why is he constantly haunted by the memory of mesmerizing violet eyes?

Fast-forward to a meeting as adults, and the air is so thick with tension and anger that it can be grabbed and shaped into adorable animals. Jude’s rage toward his nemesis has boiled over and nothing Hayden can do or say will make it go away. Hayden’s efforts to make peace convince everyone but Jude he’s a changed man. In fact, he’s a werewolf now and he wants nothing more than for Jude to forgive him. Jude wants nothing more than to ignore Cox the cock and be taken seriously as a protector of the pack.

If longing looks and lustful thoughts are anything to go by, this situation is far from resolved. Is Jude’s best friend really dating Hayden? And why does he care? Can he ever completely trust the person who spent years treating him like an algebra book? Will a survival test in Siberia and a stunning revelation bring them together or tear them farther apart?

Maybe they’ll both be taught a lesson about love.

Review:  Jude Brooks and Hayden Cox share a past that threatens a possible future. When they were teenagers, their father’s were members of the same pack. Young and inexperienced, Hayden was confused by his feelings for Jude so he bullied the young wolf in hopes it would cover up the growing attraction he had for Jude. Hayden as well is picked on by the other wolves within their pack for being human, so when Noah and Ross want to tell Jude’s father, Jonas the pack alpha, about the abuse Jude is suffering from Hayden, Jude won’t allow it.

Knowing what his son is enduring and why, Henry Cox severs ties with the pack and moves his family away. Jonas begs him not to remove himself or his family from the protection of the pack, and years later Henry’s decision has devastating consequences. As a parting gift, he bites Hayden and turns him and Jonas is there to pick up the pieces. Hayden is sent off to boarding school with Noah and Ross and given time to adjust to his new self, but he never forgets the dark-haired wolf with the violet eyes that consumes his thoughts.

Fans of this series are fully aware of Jude and Hayden’s story and the lengths Hayden goes to trying to convince Jude that he’s a different person than he was all those years ago. But Jude is stubborn and he has resigned himself to hating Hayden, fighting the pull he feels toward the wolf every time they are in the same room together tooth and nail. When the pair are sent on a mission to Siberia together and alone will the mutual attraction finally be explored? Or will Jude continue to fight against his feelings for Hayden and finally push him away completely with hurtful comments and ignorance?

One of my favorite aspects of this series is getting to follow the lives of characters and couples and watch them grow, into themselves and as individuals and eventually becoming friends and lovers. I’ve been following the story of Jude and Hayden since Jude threw Hayden into the wedding cake a dozen or so books ago. I’ve been watching their story develop on the sidelines for ages, covert glances and innuendos over the years have shown us that the attraction is mutual. But the pain Hayden inflicted on Jude when they were younger is not so easily forgotten. Now they are alone in Siberia, the threat from the rogue wolves looms over them, and they are more open and honest with each other than they’ve ever been. And the sex is off the charts! That backwards lap dance alone had me fanning myself, good god almighty!!

This series and this author continue to amaze me, I mean this is book nineteen in the series and I’m still not bored! With every installment Gasq-Dion manages to bring something new to the table. I am so invested in these characters, I feel like they are extended family, and with each new book it’s like a little family reunion where I get to catch up with everyone! Sexy, steamy, detailed and devious are all characteristics of Gasq-Dion’s writing. If you’re a fan of the M/M genre and you haven’t read this series, my only question is why not??

Note: this is the 19th book in a series that most definitely should be read in order……….

Review:  The babies are here! Mateo Esposito and Sam Waters are hard-core Assassins. Members of the elite ‘Skull Blasters’ unit, these no guts no glory guys have seen everything. Except the females shifters of their extended group giving birth. Mateo and his husband Riley are now the proud parents of twins, Matty and Maggie. While Sam and his husband Dakota have a bouncing baby boy, Kane. Newborns are a handful to begin with, imagine adding to that shifting and the ability to tell the future. Some unexpected twists and turns have a few of our assassins becoming shifters, but that’s become par for the course throughout this series.

The entire family, shifters and assassins, come together to help the guys adjust to parenting so we get to catch up with a lot of our favorite characters in the series. Some events for the outreach center that Riley and Caden started for LGBT youth brings some of our newest favorites to the series back into the forefront as well.

This is an involved series that involves a lot of characters, and Gasq-Dion introduces possible newbies in each and every book. But the writing keeps the stories fresh so the reader doesn’t get weighted down in repetitiveness. I love how each book centers on just one or a couple of couples, and yet you still are in the know with the majority of the characters within the series. Everyone is always woven into that specific storyline somewhere. Gasq-Dion could probably write dozens of books in this series and manage to maintain your interest every step of the way.

There are definitely some knock your socks off chapters in this book as well with Mateo and Riley’s impromptu office romp, and if Sam and Dakota aren’t the sexiest wolves ever, I don’t know who is! This is by far my favorite M/M series, if you haven’t read it yet, I have to ask “why the hell not?!” I suggest you start with book one though, these aren’t stand alone books and they need to be read in order so you can enjoy the beauty of each as they progress.

Review:  We were first introduced to Blaine McKlintock and Spencer Cassidy in book 1, A Betting Man. Blaine is successful and stunning, but he’s missing that someone in his life that would complete him. Spencer is just gloriously sexy and he’s obviously caught Blaine’s eye, but he hasn’t quite gotten over the whole ordeal with the bet and still holds that grudge against Blaine. And he’s straight right? Or so Blaine keeps telling himself.

It doesn’t take long for Spencer to notice the effect he has on Blaine, the man can’t seem to form coherent sentences or not trip over his feet when he’s in the same room with Spencer. This doesn’t bode well since they are not only the best men for their best friends, Terry and Kent, but they are their wedding planners as well. Can Blaine and Spencer find time for love in the midst of floral arrangements, caterers, and photographers? Or will secrets and a very vindictive ex-wife tear them apart at the seams.

The dialogue was fresh with a bit of dry humor, the story flowed, and the plot was believable. Strong MC’s surrounded by secondary characters with just as much depth and reality as them, made this an intriguing story to read. There were only a couple steamy guy on guy scenes, but what the author lacked in quantity she definitely included in the quality. Hot-cha-cha!!! I especially liked the ‘gift’ that Slater, Spencer’s brother, gave him and how Blaine put it to damn good use!

Gasq-Dion fans rejoice. She has done it again. I definitely recommend this book as well as any other book this author has penned. She has a knack for building a story for the main characters, but always keeping you involved with the secondary characters lives as well, without taking away from the core of the current story. I’m excited to see what comes next… Slater and Casper’s story; or Drakon and Matthew. Oh the horror of waiting, fans please flood SGD inbox with requests that she write faster!
