Cash is made guardian of the children, along with Val’s brother, Brad Rafferty—a man who couldn’t be more different from Cash if he tried. A Yankee, Brad is a video-game developer who works twelve-to-fourteen-hour days at his desk. They lock horns as soon as they set eyes on each other. Review: It’s very sad knowing that kids are always dealt the bad end of the stick when both parents have died in an automobile accident. The sadness, the questions (why?) and what will happen to us? Cash’s brother and Brad’s sister have both died in a car accident and have left 6 kids behind and their will stipulates that both of them are now co-guardians of the children. Cash owns the family ranch in Texas and Brad works as a Video Game Developer and lives three thousand miles away from Cash’s home in Texas.

Cash wants to take the kids back home to his ranch to live and Brad wants them to live in the house where they lived before the accident that killed their parents. He doesn’t want to up root their lives. Neither men can come to a decision regarding the kids and one night after a heated argument and they fought, it leads to a night of passion. After their passionate night, they’ve decided how and where the kids will live, but they still have a big obstacle in their way. Brad’s mother. Will they be able to dismantle the plans that Brad’s mother have to take the kids from them, or will the kids loose another set of parents to their grandmother’s bigoted hatred.

by

Sean Michael

Way’ra Bernard is only twenty years old when his parents kick him out of the house. He has been brought up to believe being gay is wrong and he is going to go to hell for it. He tried very hard not to be gay but couldn’t change the way he felt. Now he’s living furtively in a closet on the third floor of the place he’s working as a janitor—the Iron Eagle Gym.

Neal McPherson is an unattached Dom in his midtwenties and a member of the gym. One evening after working out, he notices Way’ra on the stairs and he’s immediately attracted and intrigued, so he asks Way’ra out. Unable to come up with a reason to refuse and also interested in Neal, Way’ra accepts.

There are a lot of obstacles to the relationship they attempt to build after their date, not least of which is Way’ra’s upbringing and his lingering doubts about the kinky sex Neal enjoys. But with patience and persistence, Neal might convince Way’ra not only to accept himself, but to loosen his inhibitions enough to explore and find a happy ending together.

Blurb: When easygoing Texas artist Dakin McBride makes his way to Ottawa, Canada, for a showing, he meets Jeff Tamrin, the fastidious manager of the Sussex Gallery. Despite coming from different worlds and being opposites in almost every way, the attraction is immediate, and soon Dakin and Jeff negotiate their own brand of diplomatic relations, forgetting all about art or seeing the sights the city has to offer. They get wrapped up in the moment, each of them intrigued by what he feels for the other.

The more they get to know each other, the more they like what they see. Dakin has a life to go back to in Texas, though, and Jeff has his own in Canada. Is there any way for their budding romance to survive the thousands of miles separating them? The relationship seems doomed, but at the same time, it feels too right to give up without a fight.

Review: Jeff is organising an art show at the gallery he works at when he comes across leather worker artist Dakin, being approached by the sexy Texan has Jeff’s blood heating and Jeff knows he can’t let the opportunity pass. Dakin falls hard and fast for the manager of the gallery hosting his leather work and as the time approaches for him to return to Texas he’s dreading leaving the sexy Canadian behind.

This is a fantastic story of two men connecting instantly but their lives in two different countries threaten to pull them apart. Jeff is an efficient manager and loves his job, meeting one of the artists has him questioning just what he wants out of life. Dakin loves his life on the ranch and selling his leather work helps to pay the bills, meeting Jeff at the gallery has him wishing for more but his roots grow deep in Texas, but can he turn his back on the love he has found.

First of all this book is hot! Jeff and Dakin are explosive together, their attraction jumps off the page and it’s not long before they are jumping into bed! They are a very physical couple but they also connect on an emotional level, their relationship is fast paced and I suppose you could say its insta-love, and I can tell you its insta-lust.

This is a great story for a quick injection of happy easy love, hot sex, hot men and a happy ending… what more could you ask for?

Review: Day takes over as manager for the Iron Eagle Gym. He needs help and so hires Saw. Saw lost his master to a terrible car accident and as a result thinks himself as bad luck. It will take a strong man to push through Saw’s barriers and make him see that accidents happen and Saw is not bad luck.

I really liked this story. Day’s persistence in pursuing Saw despite Saw’s reservations was awesome. The way Day was steadfast and determined was admirable.

I really felt bad for Saw. The way he felt about himself was heartbreaking. I loved that slowly but surely with Day’s help Saw became the man I knew he was.

These two characters were made for each other. Both were kind and caring toward the other as the story progressed. It showed that despite others reservation that good can come out of bad situations.

Loved it.

Blurb: Who wouldn’t want a do over?

When Thaine wakes up in the hospital after a bull-riding injury, he immediately asks for his lover, Jerry. He has no idea who this man next to his bed is, despite the fact Drew insists they have been an item for the last five years.

Thaine’s best friend, Jesse, calls Jerry. He thinks it’s a pretty crappy thing to do to the new boyfriend, but tells himself it’s unlikely Jerry will come after so many years. He also doesn’t get why Thaine would pass up the opportunity to be with Drew since he’s young, optimistic, and hardworking. In short, everything Jesse ever wanted in a man.

Jerry still carries a torch for his cowboy, so when Thaine asks to go home with him to recover, Jerry agrees. At first they pick up their intense physical relationship right where they left it before the breakup. Jesse, in turn, consoles the now homeless Drew and offers him quite a bit more than a shoulder to cry on. But in the back of all the men’s minds loom Thaine’s lost five years.

Review: Amnesia by Sean Michael, I have to admit, is pretty much exactly what I expected it to be. In many ways it’s a relaxing read because from just reading the blurb I figured out what was going to happen, i.e. who ends up with whom. For me Sean Michael books go into 2 categories – “love it” or “hate it”, or perhaps more accurately, because I rarely fully outright hate a book, “I can’t put it down” or “can’t keep my interest”. Obviously, considering I’ve given this a good rating, this one falls into the former category.

There are four main players in this book: Thaine (who has amnesia after falling a bull), Drew (the current boyfriend Thaine has no memory of), Jerry (the ex that Thaine thinks they are still together) and Jesse (Thaine’s best friend who wants to protect him from Jerry – who is selfish – yet has feelings for Drew). I honestly think if you’ve read the blurb and read this you have already figured out what happens. For me, though, I am a sucker for the melodrama that comes from the whole amnesia thing and the ex boyfriend swooping in the save the day.

Two things that did piss me off that, however, were all about Jerry. 1) He was an arsehole. Simple as that, but thankfully there is such a thing as character development. 2) When he and Thaine initially broke up 5 years earlier he really didn’t try and so really, Thaine was better off with him. But Amnesia is really all about second chances, because people can change when they have their own epiphanies. In fact, all the characters see things from a different light when their lives are changed the day Thaine are almost killed during competition.

Amnesia, I think, will be a guilty pleasure for anyone who loves the melodrama of amnesia and life or death situations. Also, for anyone who loves a cowboy, you will not be disappointed. In fact, I found myself falling just a little bit in love with Thaine and Jerry… and I find myself wanting to know more about Jesse and Drew.

Review: This is the second book in the biker’s pup series. Trig, a Dom, goes to a carnival in between subs where he meets another top, Tarzan. These definitely heat up the pages with a lot of making out and hot sex.

But I didn’t understand how one minute Trig is claiming he’s a top then submissive. All in all its quick hot read and a great addition to the series. Good read.

Review: This book was an emotional roller-coaster with excellent characters. Zane leaves his abusive boyfriend after he beats him badly. His truck breaks down and along comes Butch to help him out when he sees how badly Zane is hurt he takes him home to heal.

Randy, Butch’ partner immediately agrees to help Zane heal. Along the way Butch and Randy grow attracted to Zane. I liked the day to look into the lives of these very different men. I also liked how Randy and Butch helped Zane recuperate when he had no one to turn to.

The whole story was well written and awesome except for the end. I felt as though something was missing as it just ends. But other than that it was a really good story.

Review: This is the first book in the Windbrothers series. Kade, a slave losing hope amid all the cruelty is yet again given to a new master. What he does not expect is the kindness of his new master instead of the cruelty he is used to.

Surial is sent to Azize to run a business. While there he wins a slave in a card game. He thinks about selling him to someone else as he detests slavery but something holds him back. This is not a sparks fly on meeting each other kind of book. It’s rather a story where two cultures are intertwined and customs are brought to light.

It was a breathtaking story full of rich history and detailed accounts on certain things that happen. I truly loved this story especially as Kade and Surial seemed to respect each other. It was well written and thought out. The secondary characters I assume will be in other books in this series the further it goes.

Great read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is the 2nd edition of the book, although I have not read the first edition to know exactly what has changed between the older version and this new updated version.

The story follows Henry, he’s a video game creator that has done pretty damn well in the business. So much so he has made his in a small mountain town and built a luxurious sounding cabin where he can spend his days in quiet while working on gaming codes. One of his favourite activities is coming down his mountain to town to attend the X-treme games. He enjoys the adrenaline rush he gets from watching the competitors, as well as getting the chance to check out the athletes.

One of the X-treme Games athletes is Ecco Rasmussen. He loves and lives for snowboarding. Meeting Henry also adds something to his life that he knows he will miss when their brief acquaintance must end. But the story is much darker, as we quickly find out that Ecco’s manager, Blake Dobbs, is a lot more dangerous when signs of abuse begin to emerge immediately.

Quite quickly, Henry becomes something of a knight in shining armour to Ecco, who suffers a serious injury while competing. It is enjoyable to see that Henry can introduce Ecco to new and wonderful feelings that come with relationships as he tries to escape his dark past. There is a lot of sexual tension and a lot of sex between the guys – it’s great

. But I feel, also, that a lot is missed in terms of Ecco coming to terms with abuse. The other problem I have is how Blake is ultimately dealt with – too predictable, I won’t say anymore in case I give any spoilers away. I think if the abuse side of things was removed it would have made more sense because that was only ever glossed over enough to satisfy readers, well most readers anyway.

Despite my problems with the plot, this was an enjoyable book. It was fun and there was plenty of adrenaline as well as sweet moments. Ultimately, it was a joy getting to know Henry and Ecco.

Game designer Henry Delloit loves his life, his mountain community, his isolated dream home, and the snow. He also loves that the X-treme Games blow into the area for a month every year, bringing with them hundreds of athletes.

Ecco Rasmussen loves boarding. He knows he’ll never make it to the big time, but as long as he can get on his board and go, he doesn’t care. If only his manager, Blake Dobbs, would cut Ecco a break. The man’s possessive and mean, and believes he owns Ecco.

When Henry and Ecco meet at the Branchberry Games, it’s lust at first sight. An injury on Ecco’s qualifying run offers an opportunity to spend quality time together at Henry’s home, away from the crowds and out from under Blake’s thumb.

At this rate, lust might turn into love, but not if they can’t keep their romance hidden from Blake.

A new job finds Bran run off his feet, and a visit to the eye doctor leads to the discovery of a brain tumor. Bran is terrified. He strives to be the perfect sub for his beautiful master and sees the tumor as a personal failing as he tries to handle every last phone call, e-mail, and text that comes in, no matter how early or late. When Tyrone finally finds out about the tumor Bran’s been keeping a secret, he realizes he’s been taking his sub for granted, and he works to rediscover his boy and their relationship. Of course, that’s easier said than done given that Bran’s job is taking up all his time and he would rather pretend the tumor just doesn’t exist than actually deal with it.

It’s going to take all of Tyrone’s prowess as a master to help guide Bran through these troubled waters.
