Review: A Casual Thing is the first book in Annabelle Jacob’s series called Will and Patrick. I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I saw this book, other than that I liked the look of the blurb. The whole hot friend of the older brother trope was what really sold me, though. I’m familiar with Annabelle Jacobs, but isn’t really an author that I have formed an opinion on. But ultimately, I am really happy that I did decide to get this audio, it was such a cute and sweet story and I really am looking forward to the next book in the series.
The narration of this story was performed by Matthew Lloyd Davies. A completely new narrator to me, I really enjoyed the over all performance. I particularly liked the voice and tone that he gave Patrick. I’m definitely keen to listen to more audios narrated by Davies because I found his voice and animations very pleasant to listen to.
Set in England, which I do love as well, Patrick Mason drives up to Bristol on his uni break, where he intends to crash in his big brother’s spare room and cat sit while said big brother goes off for a trip over the ditch in Europe. The only problem is, when Patrick arrives, he finds out that his brother’s best friend is crashing in the spare room after a rough break up. However, Will Adams is Patrick’s crush, back when Will had been with his ex. Because of the breakup and having to get the new house, Will can’t join his friends on the long-awaited trip. Patrick is annoyed and is torn because he doesn’t know how he will be able to navigate being with the man that he has crushed on for so long.
In a lot of ways the story is predictable. Two guys – one crushing on the other and the other is in a bad place post-breakup. Things are a bit bumpy at first but agreeing to a no-strings friends with benefits type of arrangement changes things, even if both men don’t quite want to face up to it. After all, they are only going to be occupying the same house for two weeks before Will moves into his new place. And while Will’s relationship with Patrick initially starts as a rebound, he also doesn’t want to start anything serious with a uni student – twenty-year olds being flighty and all that kind of stuff. However, Patrick has a soft heart and despite saying that this was only going to be sex and nothing else, he can’t help it when his feelings do become involved.
I really enjoyed this story. It’s super cute and very sweet. There isn’t a lot of angst, and so in saying that this is a really nice and relaxing story to listen to. Will and Patrick have great chemistry and their different opinions on starting a relationship make them interesting characters.

Review: Each Book in the Regent’s Park pack features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Their pack has been through much heartache but it is trying to go forward. That is if they could get them all to just get along. So with the help of the council it looks like they are going to try bonding through many tasks. Daryl and Jason are both beta’s but there is just a hint of attraction between them both. Things heat up.
However Daryl never wants a relationship and a mate bound is out of the plan right off the bat. However it would seem their hearts are not in agreement and Daryl really needs to communicate better. However there is always at least one person that has issues with the pact bonding, but you must read to find out.
Heat level between these two are smoking hot and they are just about to get burned with it. The attraction is so right there in your face but damn if the boys don’t need a good smack upside the head, especially Daryl. As for the story itself well I did notice some grammar or spelling issues with it but it didn’t take away from the story as one would expect. It has some danger, excitement, adventure, kick ass moves and some hot sexy times in this story, plus a bit more.
I found that in the beginning I wasn’t as caught up in it as I should have been but once it starts moving a bit more I truly enjoyed reading it. I liked the guys but I must say that Jason will be my favorite in this story. I can’t say that this is one of my favorite but it is high up there especially the humor that I found in it.
I had a blast reading it and can’t wait to see what happens in the next story.

Review: This author was new to me so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I really wasn’t sure when I saw the cover, talk about a bit creepy. The blurb made the story sound quite different, if not a bit dark. However I was pleasantly surprised to find out just how different this book is from many others. It is not the instant attraction, fall in love, and mating that one normally finds. They don’t scent each other as their mates; in fact I almost believe they have no clue about mates at all.
This story caught my attention from the start, although I must admit that it had not kept my attention throughout though. As I said before it has this dark tone to it but not so much to distract me. I haven’t really been one for stories like this but I loved the way it just seemed to come together. The characters were delightful but different. I didn’t really connect with them like I should have, but it didn’t take away from the story itself.
Nathan is an arrogant shifter who never really wanted to bond with anyone. He was not really interested in dating either, sex was fine but something more was a definite no. He did however show some interest in the human at the club though. He just had not expected what to happen, to happen. On the night he came across Jared, he got turned down. Getting called away might have been the best, if it didn’t mean their shipment was attacked.
Jared was as human as can be, and he had a definite hate towards shifters. After one disaster of a relationship, he really did not want anything to do with them. That ended the night Nathan bit him. There was a law, to bite a human meant major punishment, banishment or even death. He didn’t want that on his head, but it would mean close contact for a short period of time. Passion, fire and attraction ignites during their time together.
I loved the way they interacted with each other, and how their bond strengthened. I liked how Nathan was with Jared; even throughout his attitude Nathan was still pretty sweet to him. I also loved how Jared would react when Nathan had to go somewhere without him. Although there were some parts that were a bit off, as with the fact that a human could not be in the packs home, yet later on it was ok. It just seemed strange to change it. These two have loads of sexual tension flowing around, and when they are together damn can it get hot.
This story just seemed to rock for me. I was surprised to find out that this was not a series because I can see a few characters that just might be perfect for the next story.
I had a lot of fun reading this and cannot wait to see what other stories this author has out.

Review: Sam and Dave are definitely being themselves. Sticking their noses in the window to see who the new people are moving in next door. When he realizes who it is, he acts like a total asshat. It would seem it was someone from the past. Someone who had done something bad or so he thought, and he hung on to that attitude. Guess he never heard there were always two sides to a story.
Charlie had broke up with his long time boyfriend and they went their separate ways, at least in a sense. They were still friends, but it didn’t make the holidays coming up look any better. Then he caught a sight of his neighbor and things were looking up. Even if the guy did avoid him.
I found that this one was a bit of a mixture for me. I didn’t really care for Sam at all. He comes off a bit stuffy and odd. Here is a man who holds a 15 year old grudge against Charlie for kicking another guys ass. A guy that dumped Sam’s friendship just because he was gay. I would have been cheering Charlie when meeting up with him again. But that is just me. I did like that in the beginning he stood up for his friend, but now not so much. I loved Sam’s cat phobia though, and the fact that Charlie’s cat seemed to choose Sam. It was adorable.
The story itself had its good parts as well as it’s boring parts. It is a cute slow burn romance that moved to slowly for me. I didn’t really care for the slow pace to the story as it just didn’t keep my attention like it should have. Other than that, it was well written and quite funny in parts. It was a cute Christmas story that worked well for the holidays.
I did enjoy reading this story and look forward to seeing what other stories this author has out there.

Review:This story is set in the Regent’s Park pack world but can be read as a standalone story.
Aaron had been trying to figure out what was up with his best friend. When he found out he wasn’t sure what to do. It would seem Harry was betting on illegal fights. The only way he could protect Harry was to either pay to watch or fight. He chose to fight and realized that he was damn good at it and he liked it. The problem was shifters were not allowed to fight and Aaron is a wolf shifter. Caught would be prison time in a shifter’s prison for both him and Harry. However things were heading south.
Michael was part of the Shifter Crimes Task Force and they were searching for a serial killer who just happened to be a shifter. The last murder led them straight to Aaron and things are going to heat up real fast.
At first I was having a difficult time getting into it but past the first few lines I realized what the story was about, my own dumb fault for not reading the blurb. However I find that I truly liked the story. It has a serious tone with dark undertones to it, but it was such a unique type of story that I was caught. I really liked the characters and their stories. It is a mystery mixed in with a bit of suspense and danger floating around. Not to mention some hot looks and oh I think I will let you read the book to figure out what more there is .
I was actually surprised at the ending and finding out who was truly the killer. It gave me almost everything I could want in a story and I will admit that I don’t much care for dark tones but this one just came out perfectly or near enough. I will also admit that the series this one is close to wasn’t brought to mind, but this story I can see not only remembering later on but will be read once more.
I found myself liking this story and would definitely recommend it. I will also be checking out more of this author’s work.

Review: I have only read a couple of books by this author, and let me say that she was quite a surprise. I had not taken the chance to read the blurb of this book, so when I first started reading it, I had thought it was a m/f paranormal romance. So you can imagine my happy dance, when I turned around and grabbed the blurb for the book. I will admit that I am not a fan of the main character having previously being mated to a female. For me it just comes off a bit weird to see him go from a female to a male mate. After I realized that Rachel was in love with Sara, I actually started to like her quite a bit. She was feisty that is for sure.
Cam is the alpha wolf who had at one time been mated to a human female. His wife had been killed sometime ago, but pain like that never fades away like one would expect. He had also hidden a part of himself that he had forgotten. So you can imagine himself when he realizes a possible bonding moment with his beta, Gareth. He needs a good kick in the pants.
Gareth has been in love with his alpha for many years, but hid that part from everyone. When Cam’s wife died, he knew that Cam would forever love her and not with anyone else. That is until one sweet full moon. Now all they had to do is to fix the rest of their problems.
This story was pretty cool, but very lengthy. It just seemed that a lot of details that could have been left out to make it a good read. It didn’t keep my attention like it should have. I normally get into a book and can’t put it down, but this one did the opposite. Now like I said, I did like Rachel, but it felt like more of the book was focused on her then on our budding romance. It took away from the story itself. Also his late wife’s name was mentioned way to much to even think that it was possible for our guys to get together.
When I read a romance, I want to focus on them and the possible dangers around them. Not on other people and their desires or thoughts. Also I can’t believe Cam went from hot to cold with his lust for Gareth. It came off to fast and not really build up to it. The chemistry between the two was sweet and hot, but was not off the charts like it should have either. I will admit that while it is a very good book it is not one of those types I would read more than once. Now if the book was more about our guys then that would have probably been a bit different.

If they want to be together, they’ll have to go against their alphas’ wishes—except Alec won’t and Mark can’t.
Review:Each book in the Regent’s Park Pack collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Ten years ago fresh and new to a team that was dealing with the wars, left him alone when his team was killed. The son of two of his team blamed him and came close to calling him a coward. This led him to keep his heart and soul safe from future pain. However ghosts from the past were arising as the anniversary was coming up. Letting off a bit of steam leads him to another, one from a different pack. A pack that they were fighting against.
Mark was betrayed by his alpha and beta. However being young he just wants to do right with his pack. It also leads him into more dealings with the alpha and beta, one that could cost him. A night of fun with another, leads him down a dangerous slope.
Now with this, you have two members from different packs getting closer together. You can see the heat and desire both these men have for the other. My problem is Alec is older and a bit jaded from the past. Leaving his scent on Mark makes Mark a target for his beta. Alec puts Mark in a dangerous position and is kind of callus at times. Mark also comes off a bit of an innocent throughout the story. Watching these two overcome certain obstacles was intriguing to say the least. The sex was hot and damn tempting.
I will admit the cover doesn’t really leave me wanting the book. It shows a darkness that the story does show, but doesn’t make me want to purchase the story. It is a fast-paced story that gives you excitement, danger, a bit of fun and some damn hot sexy times. The stories from this series are very catchy and fun to read. My problem was they are not really the memoriable. They didn’t stand out from so many others. The story also didn’t seem to flow with ease as it should have. Although it didn’t stop me from enjoying the characters. You could feel the passion from Mark but Alec didn’t really leave to much of an impression with me other than anger, a bit of pain and callousness. It takes a bit of time into the story to change a persons mind though.
I enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading the next story. I would definitely recommend this book.

If Tim doesn’t want to end up heartbroken, he needs to prove to Seb that loving a shifter doesn’t mean losing himself.

Seb’s best friend had a rough experience at the hands of a shifter, and Seb’s loyalty was with Jared. He didn’t hate shifters like his friend, but he didn’t want to bond with one. When Jared had been bitten and bonded, it changed him, which in turn freaked Seb out just a bit. The difference in his attitude was a bit off. However it didn’t mean he didn’t want to play around a bit, but the risk of getting bonded, no way. That is until the pack doctor.
Tim wanted Seb with all his might, but he knew the human didn’t want him the same way. When trouble came from rogue shifters and the P-Pack, he would do anything he could to keep the man safe, even if it meant he had to pretend. The fake relationship soon forged into something more for them both, but Tim risked loosing his heart. Things are bound to get complicated.
You can see the heat and desire both these men have for the other. I can also see where Seb might think he would loose part of himself if he bonded with a shifter, but I can also see Tim’s mind set at the same time. Watching these two overcome certain obstacles was intriguing to say the least. The sex was hot and damn tempting. These two just seem to be made for each other.
When going for a good book I am one that usually doesn’t go for authors I don’t know or certain aspects of a story. I will admit the cover doesn’t really give me a good impression of what type of story this truly is. It is a fast-paced story that gives you excitement, danger, a bit of fun and some damn hot sexy times. I hate to admit that I didn’t even remember the first book in this series, so that was a bit of a problem for me, as it felt like I was going in half blind. However it is a story that is easily figured out and will catch you from the start.
I enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading the next story. I look forward to hearing more about a sexy shifter from the wrong pack. I would definitely recommend this book.
