Blurb: Tracy Brandt considers himself a lucky man. He has a wonderful family, good friends, and a dependable job. His love life, however, features a cheating ex who, though out of the house, is not yet out of the picture—with a past that just might get Tracy killed.

Homicide inspector Cord Nolan wants nothing more than to show his best friend’s little brother that he’s a reliable man, but to do that he’ll have to get Tracy to look past the player he used to be. It’ll be a tough sell; reputation is everything, and Cord’s is tarnished by his past indiscretions.

Tracy and Cord have spent five years trying to suffocate their fiery attraction under a blanket of grudging antagonism. When Tracy finds himself with a target on his back, Cord finally has the chance to ride to the rescue and break through the dam of Tracy’s reserve. But he’d better be careful: if Cord is breaking the floodgates to wash away the past, he’s going to have to hold tight to Tracy to make sure they’re still standing when the tumult recedes.

Review: Cord Nolan met Tracy Brandt five years ago when he arrived at his then partner’s house for a party and tried, unsuccessfully, to pick up his partner’s younger brother. Since then Alex has gone to work for the DEA and Cord has been promoted to homicide detective. He’s also spent very little time in way to many beds, but still hasn’t been in the one bed he longs to roll around in, Tracy’s.

Tracy is fresh off a bad break up after catching his ex-boyfriend Brecken with another man. Little did Tracy know that the other guy wasn’t the only guy… well, person, that his ex was getting friendly with. After Tracy is attacked not once, but twice, his over bearing, over protective family close ranks, along with Cord to ensure Tracy’s safety. Tracy has been so busy trying to convince his ex that he is, in fact, an ex that he has missed the change in Cord.

But when they are forced to spend several hours alone on a plane, no possible route of escape, Tracy is finally forced to see the man who now stands before him. Long gone is the player from all those years ago that tried to get Tracy to ride him to the store, literally. But it’s hard to start a relationship when there is a psychotic killer systematically knocking off Brecken’s exes.

This was a fast paced, action packed, thrill ride of a story. There was suspense and a bit of mystery with the death of one man, the attack of a pregnant woman and two subsequent attacks on Tracy, Cord is convinced they are all related, but how? And all the while Cord is working the case he is trying to keep Tracy safe and convince Tracy that he loves him and wants to protect him forever.

The chemistry between them is electric and undeniable, though for the first half of the book they manage to keep their hands to themselves. But once they open that door and there is no going back, they can’t even be in the same room without a small touch, a hand on the cheek, brushing back the hair.

It wasn’t just the mystery and the suspense that was a constant current throughout the book, or the love story of Cord and Tracy as it grew and engulfed them. It was the way all the characters were with each other. I had so much fun listening to Tracy with his family, that scene in the bedroom with the musical coffee cup, which was hysterical. And the banter between characters as well had me in stiches half the time.

Narrated by Michael Anthony and I’m always in awe of a narrator that can take a wide cast of characters and give each one their own unique voice. Anthony truly brought Calmes words to life with little nuances and tone inflections, like Tracy when he looks at Cord and asks “What?” so innocently knowing full well what it is. And Cord’s usually exasperated sigh, that little sigh always made me chuckle.

Definitely a must for those that love Mary Calmes work as much as I do. There is mystery, suspense, lots of action, romance, passion and such a fun HEA!

Day and Knight by Dirk Greyson

2c0c5-11086224_1019481418079528_1970247364_oHello all!  I’m Dirk Greyson and its great to meet you all.  My other half, Andrew Grey, we share different parts of his rather twisted brain.  My first story is Day and Knight.  I love adventure and action so this story was right up my alley.
The whole idea started about a year ago while I was at Rainbowcon.  It was funny but Day and Knight were born at the same time as Dirk, so I share a birthday with these guys in a way.  Well that’s enough about me for now.  I’d really like to talk about the guys.  Knight came first in a way.  He’s the older, seasoned operative, a Marine, whose life was torn apart by a tragedy that he blames himself for.  So he crawled into a bottle and stayed there for a while.
Day is new with the agency and he longs to prove himself and move from information gathering to field work.    Both men are strong, alpha type guys who don’t want to give any quarter to the other, and Day has a sharp tongue and gets Knight boiling.  However what neither of them realize at first is that they need each other.  Day can benefit from Knight’s experience and Knight needs Day so push him away form the bottle and back into life.
That is if they don’t kill each other first.
Okay, now for the twist.  I had the characters, now for the fun.  Day and Knight are assigned to stop a potential terrorist threat, but they need to get into Mexico without raising any suspicions.  It’s decided that they’ll use a cruise ship that docks near the area they need to visit.  However the only one available on short notice is a gay cruise and the two of them much share a cabin to maintain their cover.  After a night of too much alcohol…   I think you get the picture.
Let me tell you, these guys are hot and athletic.  (Fans self thinking about it)  I don’t want to give too much more away, but I think you’re going to love it.  And just so you know, this is the start of a series.  The second story. Sun and Shadow is planned for later this year.  Its written and getting ready for submission at this moment.
So please grab a copy and hold on to your hats!!!!!

Blurb: As former NSA, Dayton (Day) Ingram has national security chops and now works as a technical analyst for Scorpion. He longs for fieldwork, and scuttling an attack gives him his chance. He’s smart, multilingual, and a technological wizard. But his opportunity comes with a hitch—a partner, Knighton (Knight), who is a real mystery. Despite countless hours of research, Day can find nothing on the agent, including his first name!

Former Marine Knight crawled into a bottle after losing his family. After drying out, he’s offered one last chance: along with Day, stop a terrorist threat from the Yucatan. To get there without drawing suspicion, Day and Knight board a gay cruise, where the deeply closeted Day and equally closeted Knight must pose as a couple. Tensions run high as Knight communicates very little and Day bristles at Knight’s heavy-handed need for control.

But after drinking too much, Day and Knight wake up in bed. Together. As they near their destination, they must learn to trust and rely on each other to infiltrate the terrorist camp and neutralize the plot aimed at the US’s technological infrastructure, if they hope to have a life after the mission. One that might include each other.

Review: Dayton Ingram is a talented agent that has been chained to a desk for a while. He is being given the opportunity to go out in the field, but Day is not exactly pleased to find out who his partner is. Known only as Knighton, the former marine is a hard nut to crack.

While Day is the brains of their new partnership, Knight is the strength. The job is to portray themselves as a happy couple on a gay cruise that will take them into Mexico, on the border of Belize, while Day attempts to decipher random communications so he and Knight can stop whatever attack is being planned on US soil. The who, the what and the why are all a mystery.

As the story progresses, so does the relationship between Day and Knight. While Day is gay, in his profession he has to stay closeted, but it’s getting harder and harder to avoid his growing feelings for his partner. Knight was married with a child and he loved them both dearly, but he has also been with men in the past.

They don’t even have to let their guard down to get closer. In fact, in getting closer they let their guard down and finally begin to make sense of the communications Day is intercepting. When everything comes to a head Day is injured and Knight learns that we really do live in a small world after all.

A technological mystery set aboard a gay cruise with the laws of attraction wreaking havoc. Day is determined to prove himself. To Knight, to his boss, to prove he is as good an agent as any other, not just another pretty guy with a brain. And Knight is wallowing in grief still over the death of his family. When he’s presented with the opportunity for vengeance, but Day is injured, what will his choice be?

I really enjoyed the intensity of this story with the constant threat looming overhead. Day and Knight are doing a nice job of keeping up appearances, but is that really all it is? Or could they be, dare I say, actually falling for each other.

There were a couple times while Day and Knight were trying to learn what was happening with the communications Day was translating that drug on just a teensy bit, but aside from that, I was fully engaged and loving this story from start to finish. Greyson has a winner right out of the gate with his intricately detailed plot and three dimensional characters. I especially liked the scenery and how I got to see different scenery through the men’s eyes.

If you are a fan of mysteries, then I think you will really like this one. And I’m excited to see what else Dirk Greyson brings us in the future.

Review: This is the fourth book in this series and I have got to tell you that Brandt and Donnelly are still so damn hot together.

In this story you will also meet several young men who are learning about themselves also. Xavier always manages to give one hell of a great read. The characters are so full of depth, feeling and just down right sexy. I know that I will have a great book in my hands when I am reading one of Xavier’s stories.

Brandt and Donnelly are still working on their wedding plans, but have decided to take a little vacation. It also is to see if it is the perfect honey moon spot. What they find is Winnie and Vic, the happy owners of the little bed and breakfast. It is one of those places that are mainly for gay men to have a wonderful vacation time.

What they had not expected were several boys out on spring break. Though things are looking up with lots of eye candy.
Some of those young men though have their own little secrets.

Ted has been in love with his roommate for over four years. This vacation was to tell him good-bye. He felt like his heart was going to rip out of him, but to keep their friendship he figured this was the only way to do it. However Gabe told him what he sees, and to let Bark know how he feels. Bark surprises him in the end. He has many things to look forward to.

Paul has always been gay and thought that the others knew it, but weren’t they surprised by his one night stand. Hot damn they sound good together. Then there is Thor who’s only secret was he had at one time made out with a guy, but when he and Paul take a little more of a look at each other. Well sparks fly. Now Chad and Howie are the ones that have a little more surprises in hand. Just not the way one thinks.

They are coming to grips with their new lives and a storm that is taking over their little vacation spot. I loved the way this book just came together and flew off the pages into my heart. I loved it and cannot wait to read more with Gabe and Ethan in it. Those two cops make my day all the time.

This is one story I would recommend to all. If I could rate is higher than a five I would. Ethan and Gabe’s love for each other just keeps getting stronger and their passion is hotter than ever. They also have this love for helping others. I love that it is the way it is written in these stories. With each one you get more of them, but you also get the story of another loving pair that just doesn’t know it yet.

Hot as all get out.

Review: This is one very sweet book with a couple of very sweet characters, which is a bit of a departure from my current reading where there is usually one take charge alpha and one is just a sweet guy. If you’ve read Ian’s back story in Before the Final Encore things have fallen into place. If you haven’t read Ian’s back story, go back and read. It isn’t much but it does help place things better in your mind and you will probably appreciate it more than reading it first.

Anyway, back to Final Encore.

Billy is everything you could want – a country singer who also works as a foreman. Going to an open mic night then rapidly changes his life, introducing Ian into his life, once he had been down on his luck but now is a successful country music talent scout.

Ian and Billy are wonderful characters, great even. To me they were relatable and so it was easy to feel everything, and sympathise with both of them though at one point it was clear Ian was making a big mistake! I also love minor characters Jules and Jean who play a big part in men’s lives, Ian’s more so.

Though honestly, I would have loved to find out more about their son. Another, thing I would like to point out is that the final piece drama just happened – I thought there could have been more lead-up to that.

This is more a bit of fun – injected with some sexiness and some drama – don’t take it too seriously. I cannot wait for the next book (After the Final Encore)!

Review: Whew! What a book! I have to warn you, there is a bit of M/F action in this book. I was a bit turned off by it but it didn’t take away from the story. I feel a warning would have been nice.

The story was well written, the characters were well-developed, and this was a pretty action-packed, quick read. The suspense component of the book was pretty good but the love story was fantastic.

There was A LOT of crazy in this book! There were a couple of characters, with a 3rd possible one, that were just flat out mad. One of Skylar’s co-stars, Kelly, at times seemed to be a bit crazy. An argument can be made for Skylar’s manager – Nick – also, although he’s more obsessed with the money and fame Skylar can bring him.

Skylar had a messed up childhood and doesn’t really understand relationships. He truly hasn’t ever felt what it’s like to be loved so he has always just been a casual hook-up kind of guy. He’s a bit egotistical at times but deep down is a good guy that cares about the people around him (that aren’t crazy or jerks).

Aiden is an all-around great guy – hero (fireman) and a selfless friend and lover. At first, he doesn’t even want to get mixed up with the Hollywood star but when he finally caves in, he goes all in.

Ryan is absolutely fantastic! I love every part of him and wished he’d had a love interest or side story. The 2 firemen that were close to Aiden – Ben & Paul – were great additions to the story. Sophie was ok at times; she really shined in the end.

Definitely a story I would recommend and definitely and author to follow.

Review: Tyler Powell’s life was irrevocably changed in a matter of minutes with one random act of violence. Just a few short hours ago, he was lying in bed with his husband, exchanging the rings painstakingly sought out for their perfection after being married for a year. Now Tyler and Spence lie broken, beaten, and dying on the floor of a public restroom. The victims of a homophobic beating.

Three weeks later Tyler wakes in the hospital, his memories are shaded, and his husband is dead. His assailants even took their beloved dog when they retreated, leaving Tyler and Spence for dead.

Officer Christian has been enamored with Tyler since the first time he saw him on the gurney in the ER, so fragile and broken, and the infatuation only grows as he spends more time with Tyler trying to solve Spence’s murder investigation. Chris wants to get to know the man who had the strength to survive, wants to keep him safe, but Tyler makes that hard by being secretive and hell-bent on getting revenge. The three assailants are still at large, but protecting Tyler from himself may be a harder job for Chris than solving the case.

This is a very dark and disturbing story. I will warn you that if you have certain triggers then this may not be the book for you. Please read the synopsis and now that Inman describes the attack in detail. That being said, it is an integral part of the story.

I really enjoyed how Inman showed Tyler as he muddled his way through life in the early days following Spence’s death. Denial, grief, anger, revenge, these are all human emotions that must be felt and dealt with in the wake of such a life-altering event. But there is also trust in another person to help you get through the ordeal, and eventually, hopefully, you learn how to love again.

I really enjoyed this story, as dark as the content was and as hard as Tyler struggled in the aftermath of loosing Spence, there was a beauty to him finding happiness again. The story is well written and gripping from the start, and kept my attention throughout its sadly poetic storyline.

I’d recommend this read for anyone that likes stories based in harsh reality with flawed characters that manage to find their way back from the edge with a little love and trust.

Review: This is part of the Amethyst Cove series by KC Kendricks and Christiane France. It is a standalone and to be honest, I want to go and get the other books now.

Although the reader gets a very adequate explanation as to the events of the previous book(s), I really need t read it for myself! If you look up Amethyst Cove series, what it actually is that KC Kendricks writes about PI Ian Coulter, while Christiane France writes about PI Greg Stewartson. Ian and Greg are actually in business together too, so he has a quick mention here in Ace Deuce Trey. This is also the third book to feature Ian… so maybe I have missed out a lot and would love him even more!

This is an intricate and complex plot. With a PI who has a FBI agent for a boyfriend, you know that there is going to be crime and mystery woven through the plot. Rick Mohr, Ian’s FBI agent boyfriend, is rather insecure, for good reason, of his relationship with Ian, but it lovely to see how his character begins to overcome his insecurities and jealousies for something, to someone who hasn’t read the previous books, didn’t seem like the fault of anyone in particular.

I loved seeing the development of their romantic relationship because even though they are together they really are at the beginning of their grand romance. These guys are good at what they do and extremely professional. It was good to that they were written that they could work and be serious together without things devolving into sex each time (not a fan of stories like that, clearly).

The two important minor characters in this are movie star, Saylor Blackwood – Ian’s client. As well as Ian’s assistant, Sheldon. Sheldon, or Shelly, is an absolute sweetheart. Androgynous appearance and young, he seems so innocent and enthusiastic in his passions and his work… and I just want to hug him, pity he’s a character and gay.

It is through the friendship with Ian and Sheldon that we also see just how much a fantastic and protective friend Ian is. Saylor, he’s an interesting kind of guy, he’s not really into the relationship-thing, but he seems kind and caring. However, Ian’s car also seems like a character in itself, a Barracuda.

This was hard not to enjoy. In fact, it was hard to put down at all. I found myself sneaking to my tablet to catch a few pages when I could. The mystery adds a bit of thrill and danger and the romance is sweet.

Review: Each book in Herc’s Mercs collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. For me there is nothing better than men who carry guns but in this story the fact that these gorgeous men do what they can do to save others. Now they show what hero’s really are.

Daryl has a horrible child hood, caused a lot of trouble, joined the military only to get kicked out, and is now one of Herc’s Merconaries. He goes in and save those who are in need of saving. He can hot-wire a car in seconds, track those that don’t want to be found, annoy his brother to no end and find his ass in hot wire without trying. He is sent in to find a scientist and get his sexy ass back to safety. What he does not expect was to come across a scientist with an attitude and a mouth that doesn’t shut up. Nor does he expect to fall in love.

Emerson is the type that could get the Nobel Prize. However, what he ends up getting is his ass abducted by a terrorist organization and then rescued by one of the sexiest men alive. However, he has so many smart-ass remarks, I am surprised that Daryl hadn’t smacked him, but in the end, it seemed to turn the man on. They have their problems but these two have the strength to fight for their happiness in the end.

This is a fascinating story that I absolutely loved. I had a blast reading it and look forward to reading the next book in this amazing series. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me everything I could possibly want in a story and so much more.

If I could ever get the chance to meet someone like these men, I think I would be in heaven. They are so well described and their hearts can be seen in their eyes. You can usually tell when a story is written with a lot of passion and love, and this is one of them. I loved this book and would recommend reading it.

Review: This is my first read of a Mark Zubro novel and it was certainly an interesting book to read. Instead, this is a gritty mystery and realistic enough to real life. The story is narrated by Mike King, an intelligent man who knows his way around, not just the men he falls into bed with, but also knowing his way around the human mind. Being a PI, he also knows how to get his man.

I’m going to put this out there, but for anyone wanting a happily ever after, you’re not going to get it. This isn’t an erotic book either, but don’t worry, there is a lot of sexiness and the actual physical act was alluded to only a few times. Instead, the sexiness comes from the actual character personalities themselves.

Mike King, the PI, has been hired by a millionaire/billionaire who owns a minor league baseball team. There have not only been threats during the construction of their stadium and now the team players are also facing threat from an unknown perpetrator. And of course, everything revolves around money.

Quite honestly, it took me a while to get into the book and then by just over half way I pretty much had the plot figured out. However, I have to admit, it was a whole heap of fun as well. I loved the sarcasm, which was also very amusing. It certainly made the characters more likable in my mind, but then again sarcasm is a natural state for me.

The pace of the book was also good, nick and quick but not too rapid. That’s another reason why I was able to continue on when I was first getting into it, then later when I had figured out the plot. I think for me though, the surprises came in Mike’s personal life, which provided another riveting facet to the plot of this book.

The blurb doesn’t do justice to the complexity of the plot. Reading the blurb, I had expected something in the range of 90 pages, not 300. And because of that, I’m just going to have to leave things as they and not spoil anything!

There are many tiny elements that make up the story, some related some interrelated but on the whole, every bit of information was important, so you can’t get too lazy when you read this one. I also found it amusing how the final chapter basically sums up Mike’s when it comes to men.

This isn’t the type of book I would read on a lazy day, this one requires some brain cells to function to get into and through this one.

Blurb: Sam Flynn dreamed of being a journalist, until a car accident killed his parents and put his brother into a long-term coma. Now Sam spends his days as a landscaper, toiling in the New England sun, and his nights drunk in bed with the closest warm body. In his limited spare time, he writes about Stonebridge’s local crime and politics on his blog “Under the Bridge.”

Then Sam’s favorite client is found dead in her home—shortly after telling him someone has betrayed her trust. Sam can’t believe her grief-stricken husband, Nathan, would be a suspect, but the investigation focuses on him.

Sam has always admired handsome Nathan from afar, but now he puts his libidinous feelings aside to help clear his name. But the closer he gets to Nathan, the more he’s told to keep away from him and the investigation—by the fatherly police chief, by an officer on the case who’s hated him since school, and by Nathan himself.

Sam is determined to expose the real reason his friend died and to clear Nathan’s name—even if it’s the last thing he does. Which, considering how fast the death toll is rising in Stonebridge… it might be.

Review: This book is one wild ride! Seriously, there are a number of complex elements weaved together to make an exciting and cohesive story. And with one of the main character’s blog named after a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song, I thought to take that as a good sign in the beginning.

The story follows Sam, who gave up any thought of a journalism career when his parents died in a car accident and his little brother is in a coma, and has been for the six years since. He has the hots for a client/friend’s husband, which he ignores until circumstances bring Sam and Nathan together and eventually makes Nathan have to face up to facts.

Sam is determined to make sure Nathan’s innocence is proven, placing more stress on him while he struggles to maintain control in life. Both men are likable and in that way, it was really easy to relate to Sam’s feelings for Nathan. The emotion of Nathan and actually being able to feel from the words that he is desperately trying to keep things together is really hard-hitting for me. I also enjoyed his inner conflict about moving on without too much angst.

I just said there are a number of complex elements to make this wonderful story:
– The murder mystery – actually make that more than one murder
– There are whispers of a devious plot which Sam needs to wade through
– The suspense and mystery of Nathan’s present
– The tragedy of Sam’s past
– Sam’s eccentric friends
– And of course, love – friendship, familial and romantic love.

I have to say, by the end of this, Sam would make a pretty decent cop, though I doubt Nathan would like that! I really loved the ending. It wasn’t entirely predictable. Some elements were easier to figure out than others.

I also liked conclusion on the personal side of things too, although I think that some would wish for things to go just slightly differently than they did, eventually we see the light at the end of the tunnel. It felt somewhat natural and realistic throughout, though I’ve never found myself solving a murder and my boyfriend as a murder suspect.

I could not put this down. I was a bit miffed that my bus ride to the office ended and I had to stop reading. This is a real easy read and I flew through the pages. Then again, I enjoyed this so much I didn’t find myself picking or getting irritated by any plot holes (because I didn’t notice any!).

Review: Chris Nelson is trying to solve a murder when another happens. Very well-written story with amazing details at the way Chris investigates every angle he can think of. Although he thinks he’s caught the killer, he’s wrong.

The identity of the killer was actually a surprise to me and the circumstances surrounding the reasons were heartbreaking. I just don’t get how someone could subject a family to their own beliefs in that manner. In my opinion, his grandmother abused his trust.

The crime scenes were very detailed and the detective scanned everything and made sure not to miss anything. Fantastic read.

Highly recommended.

Review: Chase is staying with his parent for the holiday and Aiden and his sister are going on a vacation. Neither man is taking bodyguards though they are famous actors. Chase is abducted and Aiden is not sure he will be in time to see Chase alive.

Not Mistaken Identity was a good suspenseful story. I sat on pins and needles hoping Chase survived. Then there was another twist.

I loved the story. I just wish I had more information and details on each character. The story is precise and to the point without a lot of description and details. It is a beautifully poignant story of two men in love and tragedy striking.

If you like, short stories without lots of description, drama, sexy actors, committed relationships, mystery, and suspense and a sweet loving couple you will love this!

Blurb: On Christmas break in Denmark to meet Asbjorn’s family, Sean almost dares to relax again—until the news of Frank Pettel’s sensational jailbreak hits the web. As he goes hunting for the man who is a direct threat to his loved one, his grasp on reality slips.

Watching Asbjorn’s change, Sean’s confidence erodes. To further complicate things, Asbjorn’s deadly silence creates secrets that test the bond of trust that binds them. An older, wiser voice helps them understand that behind the bloodstained veil of secrecy, there is space enough for love.

Review: Sean and Asbjorn have been through a lot in their young lives, both as individuals and even more so since becoming a couple. When they vacation together in Denmark, Asbjorn’s home, then Ireland, Sean’s home, they learn more about each other and their pasts. But while they are away the man who sent them across the ocean in the first place escapes from prison, and Sean is scared. Frank Pattel promised Sean he’d kill him if he ever got out, well, now he’s out and eluding capture, all while taunting Sean and Asbjorn.

Asbjorn is determined to protect the man he loves, regardless of the cost, and in doing so, he sends himself into a downward spiral of regret and painful memories of a past he has never fully overcome. Sean mistakes Asbjorn’s withdrawn attitude as him having second thoughts about their relationship and makes a few mistakes of his own, only surmounting the inevitable. If Asbjorn can’t be honest with Sean and himself about who he is, what he has done, and then Frank Pattel is the least of their worries.

I had some issues with this story. Let me start with what I enjoyed. I really liked the journey to both men’s home and the insight into how and where they were raised; it gave them a little more depth and explained their personalities somewhat. I was intrigued by the dynamics of the two couples, Asbjorn and Sean then Don and Adrian, and how they played off of each other, how they connected in a way.

And just as with the first book in this series, I love the way Pavelle has woven this tale of mystery and suspense into a world of martial arts, the two main characters so flawed and co-dependent on each other it’s almost frightening.

Unfortunately, there was too much going on in this story and I was confused at times. The flow wasn’t cohesive either when jumping from Asbjorn to Sean and back, again, I was confused. I didn’t get the connection with the fight toward the end either unlike the similar situation in the first book.

Even with the hiccups along the way, I’ll tune in for the next installment in this series because I’m invested in these characters and their story now. I have to know if they are going to get their happy ever after or at least their happy for now.

If you like books with a lot of action and suspense you should try the Fall Trilogy, there is romance as well it’s just not in your face romance. Start at the beginning though or you’ll really be confused.

Review: I love to stumble upon a book that just blows me away. I was just browsing Amazon, not necessarily looking for anything, and clicked on, Only You, by Aimee Nicole Walker. What a stupendous great find it was. It’s one of those books that within the first chapter, No, I’ll take that back. Reading the author’s acknowledgments at the beginning of the book started me on my emotional journey and you know…you just know that this book is going to suck everything out of you. I couldn’t wait to get started where I could just block out everything around me and concentrate on nothing but the story.

Sebastian Blake, is WOW, such an incredible character. He is the badass alpha, the dominant lover, the obnoxious and crude businessman. Most of all, he is the broken teenager, wronged and used, lied to and lied about. fanart SebastianAdam Only YouStabbed in the back by his first love, the repercussions would forever haunt and torture his soul. His family turned their back on him choosing to believe the lies instead of their own flesh and blood.

Get dressed you sick fucker,” my father yelled at me as he pushed me into the guestroom I’d been using. “You’ve destroyed our family, Sebastian. I…you…how could you do this to me? To our family?

Sixteen years later, Sebastian is one of the wealthiest men in the country. Driven by his own determination and fear he has far succeeded anyone’s expectations. Hell bent on destroying those that destroyed him and everything and everyone that he loved, he will confront the demons of his nightmares. With time, research, patience, and money,

Sebastian will take away everything that Marcus Appleton, his teenage lover, has. Finally, Marcus will know what it feels like to lose everyone and everything, homeless and destitute.

Unfortunately, Sebastian has more than just Marcus, out for blood. Working on his behalf to find answers that will free him from lawsuits, Adam Johnson has lusted after Sebastian since he laid eyes upon him. Sebastian is short-tempered with Adam, barely acknowledges his existence, and keeps his distance most of the time. What Adam thinks is hate and intolerance is really Sebastian trying to keep from making a fool of himself.

If Adam knew that Sebastian dreams and fantasizes about him and wants nothing more than to take him to bed, smack his ass, tie his hands, and dominate him more than his next breath, he would be beside himself. One thing stopping Sebastian from making his move…Adam is straight with a fiancé. But, is he really? Or is ifanart AdamSebastian only yout just a cover-up for the sake of family? When these two find themselves alone, they seem to have an unspoken trust between them where hidden truths will be told, and sexual chemistry, so hot, it’s about to combust.

Adam returns to the living room and his hand trembles slightly when he hands me my beer. I tip the bottle back and take a drink, not taking my eyes off his glorious chest. Fuck, I want to nuzzle my nose in his chest hair. A single drop of sweat trickles from the center of his chest down towards his navel. I want to lick it off his body.

Christ, my dick is painfully hard behind my zipper. Before I can stop myself, I reach out and swipe the bead of sweat off his torso with my index finger before it reaches the elastic waist of his shorts. Adam’s body trembles beneath my brief touch.

To say everything I want to about this book would make this review ten times longer than it already is. And…I haven’t even gotten to the good parts. The best I can do is strongly encourage you to read this amazing and captivating story.

Aimee Nicole Walker is a new author, but she has shown with this book that she has honed her craft to near perfection. There is everything in this story that I love. There is passion, hot sex. I mean, really hot sex, which has a touch of dominance, on occasion.

The world around me goes completely still except for the feel of Sebastian’s hands holding my ass, his hot breath exhaling through his nose against my waxed balls, and the silky, hot glide of his tongue in and out as he slowly penetrates me, over and over again.

Nothing I’ve ever read, no gay porn I’ve watched could have ever prepared me for Sebastian Blake. Sweet Jesus, nothing has ever felt so damn good.

Sebastian and Adam complement each other perfectly. Even though Sebastian is the perfect alpha, that doesn’t mean that Adam is always submissive. He doesn’t hesitate letting Sebastian know when he is out of line or when he tries to override Adam’s thoughts. In or out of the bedroom they treat each other as equals.

One of the many things I loved in this book is the author does not pull the two MC’s apart when trouble ensues. They work together as a team to solve whatever roadblocks they face. There will be many times you will laugh at their banter. They are quick-witted, love to tease and joke, but in the next breath they can be completely serious and stir every emotion to life. They will break you down in their heartfelt moments till you wish you could just reach in and hug them tight.

Ms. Walker writes a very descriptive narrative that pulls you in the scene with the characters. There are many twists and turns with a mystery full of suspense going on throughout the whole story. People are being murdered and they don’t know why. I thought I knew who the killer was but I was wrong. You are always on edge waiting for the unknown to happen. The dialogue is fast-paced, interesting, and will definitely hold your attention. Several times I had to stop and be a productive member of my family (whatya mean you’re hungry?) and I couldn’t wait to get back to see what was happening next.

Each character has a voice allowing you to know their thoughts and feelings. The author, brilliantly, wrote the story where there were moments in the past the character would travel back to. Giving the reader recaps and catching us up on things, we were not privy at the time to see. I normally don’t like going back in time, however, the way she went about it was not only interesting and crucial to the present, and it was very gratifying.

One last thing and I’ll wrap this up since it’s really long but I have to mention the secondary characters. They play such a vital role and are just as vibrant as the main. Carolyn, Adam’s best friend, stands beside him and offers him unwavering support, no matter the situation. She is an amazing person and a great friend. Adam’s parents are super- super supportive, kind and giving, and want nothing but the best for their only son. It was so refreshing to read about parents who got it and does it right.

I can’t emphasize enough how much I enjoyed this story. I hope the author will continue to enrich us with more of her works in the future. I know I’ve left a bunch of stuff out but hopefully you’ll just go one-click and be as enthralled as I was.

Review: Kane’s boyfriend Ryan is killed in front of him. Stricken with grief what he doesn’t expect is to be stalked with sinister phone calls. He uncovers things he never knew about Ryan and as a result is targeted by ruthless men who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets.

I really enjoyed reading this story. However, I felt there were too many memory flashbacks that distracted the reader. Not to mention that Kane was told that Ryan had incriminating documents on David but all that was mentioned that Kane found was a photograph, so that was confusing. It broke my heart to learn why Ryan was killed and who was behind it.

I felt sorry for Kane not even being given a chance to grieve before he was kidnapped several times and hurt before things finally ended. Intense scenes and dramatic revelations take place in this story.

Looking forward to the next book to see what happens next. Well written story. Good read.

Blurb: From the moment former LAPD detective Bobby Dawson spots Ichiro Tokugawa, he knows the man is trouble. And not just because the much younger Japanese inker is hot, complicated, and pushes every one of Bobby’s buttons.

No, Ichi is trouble because he’s Cole McGinnis’s younger brother and off-limits in every possible way. And Bobby knows that even before Cole threatens to kill him for looking Ichi’s way. But despite his gut telling him Ichi is bad news, Bobby can’t stop looking… or wanting.

Ichi was never one to play by the rules. Growing up in Japan as his father’s heir, he’d been bound by every rule imaginable until he had enough and walked away from everything to become his own man.

Los Angeles was supposed to be a brief pit stop before he moved on, but after connecting with his American half-brothers, it looks like a good city to call home for a while—if it weren’t for Bobby Dawson.
Bobby is definitely a love-them-and-leave-them type, a philosophy Ichi whole-heartedly agrees with.

Family was as much of a relationship as Ichi was looking for, but something about the gruff and handsome Bobby Dawson that makes Ichi want more.

Much, much more.

Review: Bobby Dawson is conundrum. The former cop has spent most of his life in the closet, and still isn’t technically out of it. He doesn’t necessarily hide his sexuality. In fact, at times he wears it like the badge he used to sport.

There is pain in his past linked to the knowledge of who he is, or at least who he wants to be, that he will have to come to terms with to be completely open. His best friend’s little brother makes him want to dive head first into everything he has run from up until this point, and it scares him shitless.

Ichiro Tokugawa came to America to meet his half brothers, and decided LA was as good a place as any to set up his own Tattoo parlor. Having spent most of his young life under the thumb of his traditional Asian father, Ichi rebelled as soon as he figured out he could and has done a fine job of taking care of himself since.

His first impression of Bobby Dawson, the larger than life shadow of his brother Cole, is trouble. Everyone in Ichi’s life warns him away from the playboy ex-cop that goes through men like most people go through underwear. This only makes Ichi want Bobby all the more, well that, and the way Bobby undresses him from across the room with just a look.

Against their better judgment, a dual pitiful excuse of willpower and the constant hindrance of just about everyone they know, Bobby and Ichi succumb to their mutual attraction thinking it’s just a one off. No sooner than lips, tongues, fingers, and teeth mix, they both know they are in big trouble.

The man who never “slept” with anyone because that would involve waking up next to them and the slightly inexperienced guy that didn’t want any attachments, other than his family, find themselves wanting, no needing, each other. But hell hath no fury like a half Asian, half Irish PI that has just learned his best friend is banging his little brother. Katie, bar the door.

While this story shifts the main focus from Cole and Jae over to Bobby and Ichi, the story runs parallel to the events of the last two books of the Cole McGinnis series, so it would probably be best that you read these books in order. I did enjoy the alternate view from Bobby and Ichi’s perspective of what was happening outside of Cole’s head at certain moments though.

One thing I can tell you about the characters in this book, this series, when they love, they love with everything they have in them. Bobby is stripped bare and laid raw on the pages of Down and Dirty, there are no hidden places and no more secrets by the end. And I absolutely loved that! That Ford finally tore open the doors that Bobby has kept himself so securely hidden by for the duration of this series.

Bobby may turn out to be even sappier than Cole when it comes to his man before we see Ford close the pages on this series. And that ending, I want so badly to be pissed off about that fade to black, but I’m more excited and anxious to see what is coming next for these characters I’ve come to know and love.

Ford’s unique sense of humor and writing style, where as she is extremely descriptive when necessary, and less than forthcoming when called for is ever present in this book. The difference in Bobby and Ichi’s story is the body count, there isn’t one, shocking, I know. The calm before the storm as they say. Definitely a must read for fans of the author and the series, or anyone that is looking for a strong read with lots of passion and story.

Review: Keeping Faith is the next installment in Lexi Ander’s Unshakable series. In the first book, Playing for Keeps, we met Trent, AJ, and Brock, a threesome in a committed and loving relationship. I think you could read book#2 as a standalone, however, you would miss out on the history the guys share and their story of love, commitment, and devotion.

Providing you read the first book, you already know Trent is a football player in the NFL. We get an inside look at his ruthless, scumbag of a father and the horrible things he is capable of. No love lost there between Trent and his partners. Now, they have moved to Miami where Trent will be playing football, and are ready to settle into their new home. With Christmas just around the corner, they get busy implementing their own traditions. Since Brock was passed from one foster home to the next, he never had presents and family to celebrate with. AJ and Trent are planning on providing the best Christmas ever for Brock.

As ménage goes, this story is one of the best in terms of their relationship that I have read. They all love each other equally, there is no jealousy amongst them, and they get along great. Whether it is just 2 of them or all 3, it doesn’t matter. When it comes to sex, they have some pretty creative ways to make sure each one finds pleasure and release.

No one is left out or pushed to the side as an observer. They love when it’s all three of them together and they can express everything they feel. Their sexual encounters are HOT, erotic, and very fulfilling.

The fella’s head out to a local café where they plan to exchange their small gifts with each other. Trent is always getting stared at or some kind of attention being the football player. Reporters are forever on their quest trying to get his story and constantly snooping for details about their relationship. They notice some strange guys sitting close by watching Trent but they assume it’s someone wanting Trent’s story, again.

When Brock returns to the table from the bathroom, he accidentally overhears two guys discussing how they will kidnap Trent. You can imagine how this would affect hearing such horrible details about someone you loved. Brock is so upset and scared he can hardly get out what is happening. Trent and AJ are confused, but try to understand what Brock is saying, and act on impulse.

Through the hustle and bustle of this pre-meditated kidnapping, Brock is taken by the kidnappers instead of Trent. AJ gets hurt in the debacle and is rushed to the hospital.

Wow, what a nightmare this turns out to be. All three are scared and worried and are in a panic over Brock. The police aren’t moving fast enough so AJ contacts an old Marine buddy for a favor. The only problem, this favor is going to cost AJ. And making promises to the government is not going to be something he can back out of.

As far as he is concerned, he doesn’t care. Whatever it takes to bring Brock back to them. That is all that matters. When Trent finds out this nightmare is happening because his father has stolen from the mob he is furious. He has never hated his father as much as he does right now.

Brock doesn’t know what is happening or why he was kidnapped. He does know that he can’t sit back and wait for help. He starts working on a plan to escape. His only concern is getting away from there and back to his lovers. He knows time is going to run out but to his complete surprise and bewilderment, someone, who appears to be part of the kidnapping group, helps Brock escape.

He cannot believe who came to help and has a hard time wondering if he saw what he saw. Right now, a rescue is in place and that is all he has time to focus on. The other will have to wait, for now.

This was a great continuation into the lives of Trent, Brock, and AJ. The author takes us on a fast-paced journey that will require holding on tight. We find out so much more about the guys, their pasts, how they came to be a committed threesome and it was very interesting and captivating.

The twists and turns you take through this story are brilliant. There is a lot of stuff going on inside these pages. The originality of the plot will sweep you up and having you holding your breath more than once. There is suspense and mystery with enough depth and intrigue that will keep your full attention. There is too much action going on to cover here and my best advice is to read the story. It’s a great read and shows Ms. Ander’s ability for storytelling.

I really like how the author, intentional or not, has introduced a couple of people in this story line that is worthy of their own story. So, hopefully, Ms. Ander plans to continue on with this series. I would certainly be interested to explore and discover more about these great characters.

The Gentleman, who you will meet as you read this story, is someone who has a story to tell of his own and I so hope it will be told sometime in the future. In the meantime, don’t miss out on the amazing journey of love from Trent, AJ, and Brock. They fit together so well and they do find their happy ever after. I

f you are a reader that loves MMM or maybe someone with a curiosity about this dynamic, this is a great series to start with. Lexi Ander is an author that I will continue to follow because so far, I’ve read two of her books and so far, I have loved both.

Review: A serial killer is on the loose, picking up young gay Asian men, hustlers, and killing them in the most gruesome of ways. As far as the FBI knows, this is the third round of his killing spree having already left at least forty bodies in his wake. Agent Robbie Taylor is assigned to assist on the case due to his innate ability to get inside the mind of the killer. LAPD officer Dave Harris is the first on the scene of the first killing in his jurisdiction and soon meets the seemingly psychic FBI agent that shares a certain secret with him.

Over the duration of the film, these two men are pawns in a game of cat and mouse with a very smart killer that always seems one-step ahead of them. Once the killer figures out exactly who Robbie is and what he is capable of, Robbie becomes a target. In the end it’s Robbie’s refusal to be swayed by bullets and speeding cars along with his acute eye and paying attention to details that affords him the pleasure of stopping a killer. But what will happen between him and Dave once the case is solved?

This is a movie made from the book of the same name by Author GA Hauser. Admittedly, the book is always better than the movie. In this case, though I think if you haven’t read the book, the movie will not be as enjoyable for you. The details in the book of what the killer did, how the bodies were found, how Robbie used his talents to catch the killer, were so detailed and precise and that precision is lost in the movie. But if you have read the book then the movie is sort of a companion and you can look between the lines, you know in the back of your mind even though you don’t see the body in the movie, you still rewind in your mind and remember the gory details from the book.

That being said, I think movies with a gay romance at the core are sought out by viewers and regardless of the written version of this story, the movie on its own will still be a great viewing experience for people. The acting is acceptable, not great but not terrible either, the sound and lighting in the movie was better than I expected being and indie film, and the core of the story is still there. How Robbie and Dave find each other through the most horrible of circumstance, but still accept their connection and explore the possibility of building a relationship outside of their jobs and this horrible case.

Review: This book is amazing! There I said it! For one thing, any book that mentions NCIS and Criminal Minds, if only once, peaks my interest. But really, A Cock in the Window is just a guilty pleasure, especially for everyone who enjoys a good British murder mystery. I’m talking about the murder mysteries in a tiny English (or Irish or Scottish or Welsh) village where everyone knows everyone but there are so many secrets brimming in the small community it’s not always easy to work it out

Even the name of book reminds me of an Agatha Christie story. Seriously, while reading this one I started thinking about the show Midsommer Murders or Miss Marple (which is hard to miss even when you don’t want to see it) and Broadchurch. In the end I had the movie Hot Fuzz in my head, because let’s face it, that movie is a send up of all those shows, where in a small village there are secret clubs, everyone knows each other and when something happens it’s “just a terrible accident”.

That was why I liked it and was pulled into the story. Now onto the actual plot, the romanced and the love is a subtle subplot, where the main plot is the mystery of why there are bodies turning up and just what is the secret the elder residents of the village is hiding. The fact that the romance is in the background and there are no personal mysteries concerning either Kit or Steve allowed for some nice character development.

Kit (not Christopher! And honestly, I’ve never worked out how you get Kit from Christopher), anyway, he is a quiet shopkeeper who runs the local trinket and junk store. He’s had one bad breakup, which has left him just a little reclusive. He also happens to like to sell wooden carvings he makes of cocks of the gay porn stars he watches. Steven Mullins walks into a shop near the estate where he lives after recognising his cock in the window. The relationship that develops is sweet. Steve, for a guy that did porn, is a little naive and a little shy. Both characters are endearing. The attraction and love between them is instantly obvious. The roadblock in their relationship is actually a series of murders that happens in the village and Steve is immediately a suspect.

When the mystery is solved and the murderer revealed, it’s hard not to feel sympathy for the perpetrator. It’s kind of like reading/watching Dexter and the entire time you’re cheering for the serial killer. It’s a situation where a community hid their dark secret and with so many people involved, there were so many victims. As I said, if you like British murder mysteries, you’re probably going to at least like this one.

As a side note, Sue Brown in the acknowledgment notes that Dreamspinner Press allowed her the use of her characters in The Isle of…Where? series. They pop up for a fun little scene in Kit’s shop and now I find myself curious enough to go and get that series now.

Review: This is the second book in this series and you should start with book one. It will tell you about the men and how they ended up together. I have to tell you that it was a blast to read it. Alex, who is richer than sin, could not let the opportunity pass him by. Now stuck in a blizzard away from his man, he might end up regretting that. Thank god for the strange motel but on Christmas Eve there are many miracles just waiting to happen. One especially if it saves him from his man Jesse killing him.

This was a blast to read and I look forward to many more with Alex and Jesse in them. They are a hot couple with very tempting sex between them. It was a cute little story and was perfect for the holidays. I love the magical way to this particular book and can see it become a favorite during Christmas time.
