Review: Hate Crimes, Serial Killers, and Brotherly Love took to the extreme.

After dropping off his brother and boyfriend Drew at a bus station, Zach is beaten and kidnapped by a deranged serial killer. He has lost his brother/ the love of is life and nearly his life but will his secret cost him more?

Where the Heart Belongs is a short story full of twists, angst, and misery. It has unique characters and has a few twists. The story is incest, has beatings, and rape, so it isn’t for everyone. None of that bothers me. The one thing I had an issue with was the toy just ended. I had so many questions left unanswered. Though it doesn’t say it’s a first of a series or anything I hope there is another book to answer those questions.

If you like lots of angst, dark stories, Taboo such as incest and rape, mystery and suspense I think you will like this story.

Blurb: Actors Ethan Grey and Alex Haynes are gay, but in Hollywood, they can’t be open unless they’re willing to be typecast in future movies or they’re dating prominent gay producers. Since neither are willing to become stereotypes, and neither have studio boyfriends, they take another path — hiding their relationship under the cover of a pretend girlfriend.

What works for Ethan, though, doesn’t work for Alex, who screws up to the point of losing his job and the chance to get another. His manager finally finds him another job across the pond, where he meets Nathan Wells.

Nathan can be the prominent producer Alex needs to further his career, but there’s something Alex doesn’t know about the man. Soon Wells grows obsessed with Alex, and he’ll do anything to keep Alex from getting away.

Though Nathan wants Alex for himself, there’s still Ethan to think about. Is the love story between Alex and Ethan really over? Or will Ethan find a way to get his boyfriend back?

Review: What happens when you live in a world where you are expected to live to the public standards? Ethan and Alex are gay and in love. Both young men are highly popular actors. Alex wants more form Ethan. Ethan is afraid of what would happen if they actually came out. Their careers are on a slippery slope.

This is a sweet story with some dark undernotes. The beginning is very sweet and we see how much these men love each other than there is a twist throwing Alex into depression, pain, anger, and possibly danger.

Iyana is one of my favorite authors but I will say this isn’t one of my favorite stories of hers. In my opinion and remember this is just my opinion it needed a bit more editing or perhaps a beta read, because I found a few loopholes. I also would have liked more of Alex and Ethan’s history and backstory. I really loved though the passion and love between Ethan and Alex and the emotions of Ethan dealing with being closeted.

If you like sweet romance, actors, closeted men, a dark twist with a happy ending this is for you.

Blurb: It might look weird for a musician to *fangirl* another musician, but Ed Finley didn’t give a damn. He adored and had a crush on singer and pianist, Gavin O’Malley—to the point of sticking O’Malley’s pin-ups all over the walls of his room. Ed thought his dream had come true when he was scheduled to perform together with his idol on stage.

Gavin O’Malley thought Ed was okay when they ended up being together that night. The night meant everything to Ed, while it was only another one-night stand for Gavin.
Ed decides to stay away while Gavin, after rejecting Ed, couldn’t stop thinking about the other man.

Review: This was one hell of a good story. It is a wonderful story that shows what everyone is feeling and it is like you are right there with them. I had a blast reading it and look forward to checking out the rest of Iyana’s books. I loved the serious tone to it, but the ending showed me a little humor that brightened the whole book.

Ed was a singer just like Gavin was. They were both popular with their music and the fans loved them. Ed had always wanted Gavin, his crush was what he wanted. The thing was he never thought Gavin would want someone like him. Then the surprise of his life, Gavin did in fact want him. Although to his shock it was only for one night. It hurt him badly and he tried to overcome it.

That is until one night Gavin came back and tried to fix what he had done wrong. Then the accident and Gavin didn’t know if the man he had fallen in love with would come back. Did he want Ed to remember what he did or would he hope that he would never remember the way he had left him after that fantastic night. He knew he had to show the man that he did indeed love him.

I could not come up with the words to make this story pop out to you. It was fascinating and I absolutely loved it. I loved Ed especially, and at first I could not stand Gavin for hurting Ed. However he realized what he needed and wanted. He stepped up and did what I had hoped he would.

I would recommend reading this story and I can guarantee that it will bring a smile to your face in the end. It was a beautiful story with wonderful characters that told a story with heart and soul.

Blurb: Abducted and forced to channel all his TV character’s smarts, can actor Chase Riley escape his captors and return to his boyfriend?

Actor Chase Riley is road tripping his way home when he is abducted. A delusional fan is convinced that Chase is really Elliot, the character he plays in a popular cop series. In order to survive, Chase must channel all his TV character’s smarts, while trying to convince his abductor that he really is just a very good actor.

Chase’s boyfriend, co-star Aidan Buffett, is on a trip with his sister when he gets news of Chase’s disappearance. Trapped in an airport in Mexico trying to get home, Aidan is both terrified he will never see Chase again and tortured with guilt for allowing his lover to travel alone.

When Chase makes a desperate attempt to escape, the consequences are serious. And though Aidan will get to see his Chase again, it is with no guarantee that his boyfriend will survive to tell the tale.

Review: Chase is staying with his parent for the holiday and Aiden and his sister are going on a vacation. Neither man is taking bodyguards though they are famous actors. Chase is abducted and Aiden is not sure he will be in time to see Chase alive.

Not Mistaken Identity was a good suspenseful story. I sat on pins and needles hoping Chase survived. Then there was another twist.

I loved the story. I just wish I had more information and details on each character. The story is precise and to the point without a lot of description and details. It is a beautifully poignant story of two men in love and tragedy striking.

If you like, short stories without lots of description, drama, sexy actors, committed relationships, mystery, and suspense and a sweet loving couple you will love this!

Blurb: Being insecure isn’t good for Parker Williams’ image as an indie movie actor, but he can’t help it. He seems to forget that he snatched an Oscar from the one hit movie he made, and he keeps comparing himself with the success of his boyfriend Declan, who is a blockbuster star. Things get worse when Parker sees how close Declan is to his sexy co-star, Ryan Dexter.

Parker thinks he’s no match for Ryan and leaves without confronting Declan. When he disappears, a worried Declan tries to contact him without result. Then he finds Parker’s cell phone, left behind at the house, and Declan doesn’t know what to do. Should he let Parker go and turn to Ryan for comfort? Is his relationship with Ryan only onscreen, or is there something more between the two leading men? Or is Parker really the star of Declan’s heart?

Review: Parker and Declan have several things in common. They are both Hollywood stars in their own right. Parker an Oscar-winning Indie actor and Declan a mega movie star. They love each other, and not neither damn one of them can communicate with the other! When Parker feels threatened in their relationship by the flirtations of Declan’s latest co-star, Ryan, Parker just packs up and leaves. And Declan is far from blameless. He’s allowed the innocent flirtation to proceed, and it may have cost him the one thing he holds most dear. Parker.

As much as Ryan would like to pursue a relationship with Declan, he sees how miserable Declan is without Parker. If Declan can find Parker, will the pair be able to hold a conversation about their wants and fears? Or is it all too little, too late.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. Quick, guess the movie! I swear, I could hear that old man screaming that at Parker and Declan while I was reading. ONE little conversation could have saved these two a lot of trouble. But oh, the making up was SO much fun! This was just a short, sexy read with a great moral story. Passion and mutual attraction are just a few key points to a successful relationship. There must also be trust and communication. All these things must be earned.

Looking for a fast, fun read; then give this one a go.

Blurb: Cold, injured, and afraid his ex-boyfriend will come find him, Oliver chooses instead to run away from the hospital and hide in his cabin on Christmas Day. Little does he know that Santa Claus and the Big Boss will drop a surprise for him through his fireplace. The surprise’s name is Derek.

Product Link:http://www.amazon.com/A-Boyfriend-Christmas-Iyana-Jenna-ebook/dp/B00GR0D6IA

Review: This is a very cute story, that I absolutely fell in love with.

Oliver had been abused and just wanted to get away. He was scared of everything, so when he awoke to a burglar he was scared out of his mind. Derek had been sent to him by the big boss and he knew he wanted Oliver. Derek was kind, gentle, and very loving. It is a cute and adorable little story line, that I wished had been a lot more. This story is just so sweet and tender that you can’t help but think of reading it every Holiday. Which is what I intend to do, to put it on my Christmas Eve story time. It is a story that would stick with you.

The only problem I found was that it was too short and missed many parts that would make it a great story. I wished that it had done more background on both Oliver and Derek. Then put a little more action into it.

Blurb:When actor Sean O’Reilly receives a flower bouquet containing a single black rose on set, he assumes they’re from his boyfriend Nate. But they aren’t. Flowers keep arriving for him after that, each with a black rose in the arrangement. Soon other things arrive as well, such as photos and a recording of Sean’s voice. As the number of flowers dwindle with each bouquet, Sean begins to worry they’re supposed to be some kind of a countdown … but to what?

Fan Gene Scott worships Sean. He maintains a blog dedicated to the actor and writes out all his fantasies there. He wants Sean to belong to him, and only him, and he’ll do anything to make the actor his own. He can’t accept the fact that Sean has a boyfriend. To Gene, Nate might as well not exist.

Despite increased security and all efforts to keep him safe, Sean vanishes, and Nate feels as if his world has come tumbling down. When the police response is too slow for him, Nate enlists the help of his producer and bodyguard to find Sean. Will he manage to find his lover before Sean disappears forever? Or will Gene finally get what he’s always dreamed of, and make Sean the love of his life, instead?

Review: Sean finds out he has a secret admirer and finds it very disturbing that each bouquet has one black rose. He gets a bad feeling and so does his lover Nate. Even though they have security, the bouquets keep showing up and getting more and more disturbing.

I absolutely loved this story. I loved the committed relationship Sean and Nate are in. I love how the mystery unfolds and is captivating and nail-biting. This story is very well done for a short story. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. I loved the set-up of the roses and how Sean and Nate looked up the black rose on the internet and the information made the case more interesting and confusing at the same time.

Then when the first twist came and it was more than just a threat I was breathless.  I loved getting both Nate and Sean’s point of view.  Of course, I loved the ending.  I loved that though it’s a short story it was very complete and satisfying.

There are only two things I can say I didn’t like. One: I would have loved more information on how the guys met, their relationship and jobs and the other characters. Two: I would love more!

If you love a good mystery, a loving committed relationship between two men, movie stars, stalkers and a nail-biting suspense this is for you!

Blurb: Taking a break from dealing with his wealthy father, Nicholas Haynes goes out to the sea on his yacht—only to find a man floating in the water. The man was still alive, much to Nicholas’ relief.

Gregory Phillip was a private investigator and his last job almost turned him into fish food—if not for Nicholas. Little did he know that the main suspect in his case was one of Nicholas’ father’s clients. Even after Nicholas takes care of Gregory after the incident that almost killed him, can he really trust him enough with his life?

Purchase Link: http://www.evernightpublishing.com/release-me-by-iyana-jenna/

Review: Nicholas is enjoying a day at sea on his yacht when he comes across a floating man, dragging him on board he discovers he is injured. Gregory is a private investigator who is injured and left in the sea to die when he gets close to proving who killed his client’s son, but he isn’t sure he can trust his rescuer when he discovers the connection between his attackers and his rescuer. Nicholas won’t let Gregory down though as there is something about the PI that calls to him, lending a helping hand in the investigation he proves that he can be trusted, but someone wants them both silenced.

This quick read has some danger, investigation and a quick romance. Nicholas and Gregory make a fine couple who are brought together during a murder investigation. Nicholas falls for Gregory as he lies in a hospital bed; there is something that makes him want Gregory safe so he calls in favors to complete Gregory’s investigation so the people who hurt him are made to pay. Gregory is wary of Nicholas at first because of his family’s connection to his attackers, but he quickly realizes that Nicholas is genuine with his affection and protection.

Although this story has a very interesting storyline and had huge potential, it came across a bit lackluster. We only really saw what was happening with Nicholas and Gregory with the investigation in the background, we didn’t see all the information or the connections so we are left a little disappointed. The relationship between Nicholas and Gregory is missing a spark, they seem good together but because the relationship and the investigation is squashed into a very short story it was lacking in detail and we only got Nicholas’ side. It was also very rushed, progressing too quickly with no overpowering emotions to make us understand how they went from meeting to married in such a short period.

I will recommend this to those that love private investigators, finding love in difficult situations, interesting investigations and a very happy ending.

Review: Jordan always thought that the story told to him when he was small by his grandfather was just that a story.  But, when other kids at his school start falling sleep and never waking up, he knows there was truth behind it. When his best friend Jamie falls asleep, Jordan prays that his dreamcatcher can capture the nightmare plaguing his town.

This is a great Young Adult short fantasy that while not strictly LGBT, isn’t strictly straight either. It is more just young adult with no sexual orientation hanging over it, so whoever reads it can make up their own minds as to the orientation of the characters. Jordan’s great-great-grandfather defeated a warlock many years before, the dreamcatcher and the story has been passed down through the family since that time. But now is the time when the warlock returns and Jordan has to hope that he can save his friends. However, being caught in a nightmare wasn’t part of the plan and it is down to Jamie to rescue Jordan.

Dreamcatcher is a great little fantasy story that is beautiful in its simplicity.  An old tale and a dreamcatcher are all that is needed to defeat a deadly foe.  Two seventeen year olds are the heroes and their friendship keeps them strong. The characters are nice and the general feel you get from them is that they will be friends for life. More than that is hard to catch as it is a very short story. The warlock is nicely nasty and the solution is nicely carried out.

I have to recommend this to all teenagers and young adults, adults who like simple young adult fantasy, solid friendships and a great ending.

Review: Patrick is happy with his simple life. He tends his garden every day and has his best friend Chad, a cockroach, to talk to, but everything begins to change with the appearance of a strange man in his garden. Damien welcomes Patrick’s offer of some coffee, they begin to spend time together and become friends.  But, Patrick’s nice safe home begins to shatter when Damien is kept from visiting him and Damien insists that the only way they can be together is if Patrick remembers.

This is quite a hauntingly beautiful story.  Patrick has suffered emotional trauma and has retreated into his nice safe world, and Damien visits Patrick and befriends him in the hope of pulling Patrick back into the real world. Although I would love to give more details, I really can’t say any more than I have without ruining the enjoyment of the story.  What I can say is that it is a touching story that has heartache and hope.

The characters seem to be very well written.  But, we don’t get to know them all that well.  The story was just too short for character development and the storyline was very intriguing and made me want to know more; about the characters, about what happened and what will happen. This story would make an excellent novel and I can only hope that Iyana Jenna will revisit this story in the future and give us an extended version.

I recommend this to those who love damaged young men, a man who will stand by you no matter what, a beginning to a relationship and a tentative happy for now ending.
