Blurb: Quiet, reserved Derrick has never had a date. That doesn’t stop him from wishing and dreaming, especially when he’s working a boring shift at the coffee shop. On a cold, rainy evening, the shop is deserted, and Derrick daydreams about his fantasy boyfriend, Rory, a fellow university student. Derrick doesn’t know much about Rory. They’re not in the same classes. They’ve never even talked.

When Rory is his last customer of the night, Derrick comes face to face with the man of his dreams. The real Rory is even better than the fantasy and he wants more than coffee… he wants Derrick. By the end of his shift, Derrick will find out if all his fantasies can come true.

Review: Ah, this little short was too sweet and adorable. It was all about this freshman college kid named Derrick who is extremely shy. He’s been having daydreams, night-dreams, and all sorts of fantasies about Rory, a very cute guy he keeps seeing on campus, but never had the courage to actually go and talk to. He’s wanted to ask him out forever, or would have asked him if he ever found it in him to overcome his shyness.

So, there he is trying to spend the time in a very slow shift in the coffee shop where he works, when a bit before closing time a last customer comes in. And who would that customer be, but the very man who haunts his dreams and literally every waking minute. Rory, making Derrick’s heartbeat go frenzy and tying his tongue up in the most embarrassing way. But, little did Derrick know Rory’s true cause for entering the shop this late rainy afternoon.

As I said, too sweet, too adorable and extremely frustrating. You see this story focuses only on the fact that all that wishful thinking Derrick has had comes true when Rory makes the move Derrick has been dying to. It’s all about how these two lovely characters make the first step toward a date. The end. And I’m left there hanging and wanting more because I liked the writing, I liked the approach. I loved the feeling I got from Derrick and the way his oh so adorable reactions were described. In the end, I wanted to damn well read Derrick’s and Rory’s story. So please, pretty, pretty please, dear author write it for us and give us the pleasure of actually experiencing this lovely couple.

As it is, with the above in mind, I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind the cliff-hanger

Blurb: Luke ignored his Irish roommates when they advised him to return the coin he found. They warned him about keeping leprechaun gold. He might regret it when a sexy, kilt-wearing leprechaun shows up to claim the last of his gold.

Luke, an American exchange student studying abroad in Ireland, ignored his roommates when they told him to put back the gold coin he found in the garden. They warned him about what would happen if he kept the leprechaun gold. He might wonder if maybe he should have listened to them when a sexy, kilt-wearing leprechaun shows up that night to claim the last of the coins from his scattered pot of gold.

Review: An American living in Ireland finds a gold coin. A leprechaun finally feels his last lost coin’s been found. The unaware American has unknowingly claimed it for its own. Now a bargain must be made. A wish for the coin.

And that’s how Arn, the leprechaun, gets hit by the almighty power of Love. But rules demand that Love cannot exist between the realms and Arn must choose his people and immortality or his human lover…

The idea is exquisite and the Fae myth is something I can’t ignore. The story itself is quite funny in a way and alluring. Fairly short, it is still somehow well-developed. A sexy encounter in the wee hours, a victim of a trickster and the trickster turned to victim by the mighty powers of Fate. But, then again I’m biased as I can’t resist them little people. J

I liked it. it was quick and fun and quite nicely written.  a lovely little snack for lovers of leprechauns and the Fae people.

Review: Patrick is happy with his simple life. He tends his garden every day and has his best friend Chad, a cockroach, to talk to, but everything begins to change with the appearance of a strange man in his garden. Damien welcomes Patrick’s offer of some coffee, they begin to spend time together and become friends.  But, Patrick’s nice safe home begins to shatter when Damien is kept from visiting him and Damien insists that the only way they can be together is if Patrick remembers.

This is quite a hauntingly beautiful story.  Patrick has suffered emotional trauma and has retreated into his nice safe world, and Damien visits Patrick and befriends him in the hope of pulling Patrick back into the real world. Although I would love to give more details, I really can’t say any more than I have without ruining the enjoyment of the story.  What I can say is that it is a touching story that has heartache and hope.

The characters seem to be very well written.  But, we don’t get to know them all that well.  The story was just too short for character development and the storyline was very intriguing and made me want to know more; about the characters, about what happened and what will happen. This story would make an excellent novel and I can only hope that Iyana Jenna will revisit this story in the future and give us an extended version.

I recommend this to those who love damaged young men, a man who will stand by you no matter what, a beginning to a relationship and a tentative happy for now ending.

Nobody from Ashton’s past knows that his parents cut him off from the family fortune when he came out, forcing him to strip to make ends meet.

But that’s not the only reason Ashton runs.  J.C. Sparta was the one man he loved but never confessed it. When J.C comes back again and makes him an offer, how can he possibly refuse?

Review: Ashton was disowned when he told his parents he was gay. Now, he makes his living stripping. It’s a job that pays the bills, but one night he turns around and his client is none other than J.C., the boy he once fell in love with. J.C. is celebrating his birthday with a lap dance bought for him by his best friend, but when the dancer turns around he’s startled to see Jeremy (Ashton). Jeremy who he remembers from school, but what was he doing stripping? J.C. needs to see him again and hopes he can give him an offer he can’t refuse.

This is a lovely short story of seeing past the trappings surrounding a man and to the person they really are. Ashton lost everything when he came out to his parents, only his best friend Bo stood by him and helped him navigate the real world and now J.C. has walked into his life. But, Ashton is wary of trusting him, after all the only person he knows he can trust is Bo. So does he take a chance with his heart? J.C. has been bitten in the past and he is wary of jumping in with a man again, but when he sees Jeremy (Ashton) again after all these years he throws caution to the wind and takes a chance that Ashton wants him and not his money.

Both Ashton and J.C. are wary men, but as they come together both of them seem to realize that they have found just what they need in the other man. You can understand Ashton’s cautiousness, because of how he lost not just his parents, but all his friends when he came out. only one person standing beside him and being there for him, so when J.C. comes to him it makes him wonder what J,C, really wants. J.C. is willing to take the chance that Ashton wants him, the man, and not the businessman, he knows it’s a risk, but he wants Ashton and wants to show Ashton that they would be good together.

The dynamics of the relationship is fluid, although Ashton likes to be spanked by J.C., he also takes control as well. The sex between them is very hot and at times feels desperate, as though they must have it now. Although the relationship felt a bit rushed, it seemed to suit both their personalities and worked well for them. Although they make an interracial couple, there is no real focus on that; they are just two men who want each other.

So, if you want a story of seeing beyond the surface, new beginnings, hot passionate sex and trusting your instincts, of realizing that the timing is perfect for you and no lost regrets, then this is the book for you.

Review: Harry somehow managed to get everything he could have ever wished for, but the price was quite steep. Now, he tells his story to a professor of mythology who specializes in Arabic folklore.

Wow. How to describe this story? This story is the type of story that I’d expect to be told in a country pub; sat around the fire in the dead of winter, with the wind blowing, the rain pounding and the old gent in the corner is regaling us with myths, folklore, urban legends and village tales. Harry Zade told his tale of woe to a stranger in a little café. the stranger gives him something in return, and the next thing Harry knows his life is on the up… but there comes a point where a choice is made… fame, money, power or love… it isn’t until too late that Harry even realizes that there was a choice.

This is an enjoyable story, if you do like this sort of thing; stories told that happened to a friend of a friend, and there is always something magical or mystical about them. The interviewer in this story we don’t get much about, not even a name, which I found a bit strange at first, seeing as it’s from his POV, but you realize when you get to the end of the book, that it just adds to the mystique of the story. Harry comes across as very brash and a drunk, but as he tells his story, you begin to realize how damaged he really is, by the events that led to his fame and fortune.

So a well written bittersweet short story, that surprising enough gave me chills near the end. I will have to recommend this to those who love myths, folklore, pain and anguish, and a bittersweet ending with a slight twist.

Review:  Carter and Mario have been best friends for years.  Carter is quiet and reserved, Mario…not so much.  Jumping on the real estate trend, the guys buy a beautiful old house in need of a little TLC.  The plan is to fix it themselves and then “flip it “, for a hefty profit.  To save on living expenses, Carter and Mario both move into the property.  Now these two confirmed “tops” are seriously considering doing a little “flip” to the bottom side of lovin’.

This is the sweetest story.  Carter and Mario are a beautiful team.  They’ve shared all the major milestones of growing into manhood together.  But, they’ve never consciously considered taking their friendship to another level; at least not enough to risk their friendship.   Not until a night of clubbing sparks a kernel of interest that refuses to go away.  There is nothing to do but let nature take its course.  The only problem is both men are “tops”.  Carter’s one and only experience, as a bottom didn’t end well and he hasn’t put himself in that vulnerable a position since.

The interaction between Carter and Mario is great.  Their friendship is strong and underpins all their interactions.  The loving is steamy and very well-written.  Mario is just what Carter needs to let go and really enjoy being loved on by another man.

I love “friend to lover” romances.  Flipped is sweet without being sappy, sexy but intimate.  Highly recommended.

Blurb: Space pirate Captain Darius Rivers boards the enemy ship Avenger in search of treasure and encounters more than he bargained for. Rather than fight, Captain Hector Ramirez awaits him in silence–ready to bring Darius’s fantasies to life.

Review: Darius has dreamed for ten years about boarding the Avenger and her captain; now it is within his sight and he is determined to conquer both. Hector knows that the St. Marie and her captain Darius are not far away.  He knows that they will be here at any moment and it is going just as he planned.

This is an extremely erotic short story that will have your pulse racing. Darius is desperate to conquer the Avenger.  For the last ten years all he has heard is how fantastic the treasure will be, now it is within his grasp and so is the captain that he has secretly lusted after. Hector will turn the tables on Darius, as Darius isn’t the only one to hear rumors.  Now, after his patient wait he will get the spoils of his plot.

Well, this is definitely a hot sexy short that doesn’t have much in the way of story-line or plot but has just enough that it leaves you satisfied. The sex is incredibly hot and I liked the way that Hector seemed to bring Darius into his trap.

This is definitely for those who want a quick sex fix with a little bit of intrigue thrown in who love space pirates and a happy for now ending. (Does that mean a sequel Ms Leigh??)
