Blurb: On the surface, the business of the infamous House of Silence is obvious enough, but its carefully cultivated veneer of political neutrality is threatened when a lover from Master Charon’s youth arrives with an urgent message from the queen, prompting jealousy from Reiji and putting the whole house on edge.

The House’s unique resources are called upon to investigate one of the local cabals, which are overstepping its bounds, snatching up disproportionate amounts of territory and capital beyond its domain. When Tam goes missing, Charon and the boys are caught up in a web of intrigue, peril, and sensuality that may end up costing them their lives. (M/M)

Review: This book was so good I don’t know where to start. It is filled with mystery intrigue and nail-biting suspense with dark undertones, lots of emotion and of course hard-core sex.

House of Silence is a series and this is the third book. I have to say it’s my favourite. I will be adding HOS to my list of favourite series this year, Charon and Reiji as one of my favourite couples.

There are lots of emotional drama in this story. We get a deeper look into the lives of some of the regular boys such as Reiji, Tam, Danny and Vincent. And in this book, we add in Nao, from the last book. Tam, Reiji and Charon are the focus of the story but we still get a good look into some of the other characters from the past two books. By the way, this series each can stand alone but I think you’d get a much better feel by reading them in order since the characters do move from book to book, though the plots are different to a degree in each book.

I have to say this was my favourite part of the book and is in it from beginning to end. Each sex scene between these two are so hot you need an ice-bath. They really show each other’s personality plus why they make such a perfect couple. If ever two people were made for each other these two are. Even the one ménage scene was amazing. It wasn’t about the sex at all but I won’t say any more you really need to read this to see what I am talking about. The sex scenes Tam were in especially the ones on the job really showed, his personality and his endurance. The ones with Brand were on another more emotional level. Then of course we had Vincent and Aburon, these two deserve their own book and could vie easily for hottest couple. There is also a couple good ones between a few of the boys. Yes, there is a lot of sex in this book. Some of it is very rough and chilling, some very sweet and sensual and some just pure hot mansex. But the book is about a bordello for the rich and royal. I even have to give the author props on the antagonist of this story. I couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for him, yet want to string him up and beat the crap out of him too.

The story itself was full of nail-biting suspense when Trent Devereaux shows up as the Queen’s Liaison. We find that he was Charon’s first lover and love and the flames still smoulder in both men. He presents Charon with a new task since he is taking the place of Montgomery (he is in book two if you want to know more about him.)
The Cabals are at war with each other and a smaller Cabal is rising taking control of all the smaller ones now setting sites on the big ones Family members are disappearing from some of the bigger, leading Cabals. Charon’s task is to invite one of the prominent players from the Cabal that seems to be taking over as no one knows who the actual leader is but Sasha Monet is a key player. Charon does extensive background checks to anyone that comes into the House so this gives a way to tackle a very detailed background check while the boys of the House keep the man occupied. This is where the suspense begins and you go on one heck of a ride full of twists and turns; nonstop, shocking ones at that.

I highly recommend this book if you love a great series that is well-developed, lots of intriguing characters, Lords. Police officers, Cabals (mobs), suspense, mystery, betrayal, and deception, BDSM, Ménage, blood-play, D/s, other fetish and some really hot ManSex. You name it. It’s probably in this book.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review by MM Good Book Reviews.

Blurb: Jamie and Max are back. Now married to each other, they’re still the same guys they used to be: emotional, insecure, playful Jamie and quiet, strong, protective Max. There are some small issues in their relationship—such as how incredibly vulnerable Jamie is to any critical words from Max—and they do occasionally argue. But overall, things are going well.

Or at least, Max thinks they are. Until Jamie disappears without a word.

Certain the love of his life is dead, Max suffers the worst depression of his life, tormented by thoughts of Jamie’s suffering. And then Jamie reappears, uninjured and apparently perfectly whole. Can Max ever forgive him, even enough to find out why he disappeared, or is their relationship as dead as he thought Jamie was?

Review: And You Still Are is a sequel to You Were Always the One but it is fine as a standalone. I haven’t read the first and I followed the story just fine. This story is a continuation of Max and Jamie’s love. They have recently married and are head over heels in love with each other but, and this is a big but, they are two very opposite personalities.

I am a big character fan so I loved the detail of the characters. Max is police officer. He works long hours. He is more reserved and very masculine. Jamie on the other hand is the polar opposite. He is an artist, he throws himself into his work and sometimes gets so involved that he forgets to clean the house or have Max’s dinner ready. Jamie is a bright colourful character and with the cover and descriptions, I could just visualize this man as lovely, fun and flamboyant.

The story was a sweet romance about the ups and downs of marriage with a slight mysterious twist. It’s a cute, fun story, with a slight sad middle and a happy ending (for those of you that only buy happy ending stories).

I recommend this is you like sweet romance, committed lovers, off the page sex(very low heat but soft, sensual, and romantic) and a bit of a mysterious twist and of course happy endings.

Review: Warning this book contains rape and violence, but it is well written into the story.

This story continues the House of Silence plight, as an influential Lord has retaliated against Charon for not giving one of his boys, a gypsy refugee, into slavery. Will they be found? What secret will be revealed? Will they survive and be able to ever return to the House of Silence? You really should but this one and see.

This is one of those occasions when a second book is better than the first. This one can stand-alone quite well, as there is a character description in front and a catch up on the action. I liked that part, but it read like a character list and scene explanation, instead of a part of a story.

Having said that, it did not take away from the story at all, and if you had not read the first book, that section would help with some information. I do suggest reading the first one before because it gives more insight into the boys’ lives, and the patron’s connections to them. The story is well-edited, and I like that the sex is sensual and erotic, not just vulgar. Even the rapes and violence are well enough written that they make you want to read further and not toss the story. This book is filled with so many twists, turns, mystery, intrigue, and is so fast paced that it is breathtaking. Better than a roller coaster ride.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes, Lords, Cabals, BDSM, D/s relationships, intrigue, mystery, bordellos, stories with lots of conflict, and hot sensual sex. If you liked Fifty Shades, you should love this one.

Blurb: The shadow of a past love had blinded Clayton MacAllister until his life was slipping through his fingers. Just as Clay was ready to give up on the idea that he might ever be happy, a charming stranger stepped into his life. Mal was rich, handsome, and persuasive; everything Clay thought he couldn’t have and didn’t deserve. Mal’s sadistic desires made Clay uncomfortable, but it seemed like a price he could pay—until he learned, the price might be his very soul in chains.

Review: Clay is just coasting through life, letting everything pass him by because he doesn’t really want to try to improve his life. When he meets Mal, there is something about the man who Clay just can’t resist, and Clay falls into something he has no control over. Mal’s darkly sensual nature lures Clay in, drawing Clay into an erotic world that he isn’t sure he wants, but the price becomes too much and the help of Clay’s first love may be all that can save him.

This dark erotica is oddly appealing, as well as slightly repellent. Clay is a character who if he applied himself more would have everything he wants, but he just seems to accept things as they come. When Clay first meets Mal he is overwhelmed by Mal’s charismatic nature, he does things he wouldn’t normally do and finds a secret thrill out of those actions. Clay soon begins to let other things slide to meet Mal, he phones in work for time off and he makes excuses not to see his son… all so he can have a few stolen hours with Mal, and because there are no adverse effects he doesn’t question how easy it is.

This story draws you into a world where a man’s pleasure overshadows his unease, where he will endure discomfort and fear for the eventual blissful release of orgasm, and when he eventually does begin to question his reactions, he begins to see the truth, but it could be too late. Mal is a character that changes as Clay begins to realize things are odd, at the beginning, he is suave, sophisticated, and charming, by the end, he is demanding, cruel and mean, showing his true nature as what he wants is slipping through his fingers. Clay does have help from his first love Jimmy, but Clay is the only one who can truly put an end to it.

This story is darkly erotic and extremely well written, you are pulled into the scenes and you can actually feel Clay’s unease even as you feel his pleasure, you feel his neediness even as you feel his questioning of his own actions and you feel his desperation even as you feel his hopelessness. This story isn’t a happily ever after or even a happy for now, this story is a lesson learned and never forgotten.

This story I recommend to those who love dark erotica, reluctant surrender, paranormal forces, hope, and an ending that is happy for Clay.

Blurb: Shai discovers he is a pathfinder and is desperate to find a genetically suitable partner to prevent his extrasensory talents from running amok. Unfortunately, those talents make him a target for the brutal crime lords and other violent denizens who inhabit the city of Nhil-Rhar. Shai needs to learn how to use his pathfinder senses—no matter how much they terrify him—before he’s trapped in a partnership that will enslave him for the rest of his life.

Warning: Scenes of rape and dubious consent.

Review: Shai finds out the hard way that he is a Pathfinder. he has been told that he has to have a guide who will be bonded with him, and Shai has no choice about whom that guide will be. Being a Pathfinder places him in danger, when a crime syndicate snatches him, and tries to force a bonding with their very own guide. Now, Shai is on the run with an Outrider guide. A guide who doesn’t want a bond to form, and who Shai is beginning to trust.

This is a great science fiction story of a lost science, which scientists are trying to revive. Shai is just slightly different from the others. Sometimes he just knows things. He works quietly at The Hunted Lord, until the night the Agency sweepers come looking for him. From then on, it is a journey of discovery, fear, and resentment. Lorne is an Outrider. His clan lives out in the outside roaming the land and avoiding the city. Lorne was captured during a raid for medical supplies. Together they escape from their captor and begin a reluctant partnership.

The characters are all well written and the storyline is brilliant. It isn’t a nice and easy relationship and it isn’t a happily ever after. Both Shai and Lorne are in a position that neither of them wanted. But, they try to make a go of it even while they both try to decide what they want to do. Shai has no choice but to find a guide. And Lorne might be the only one that he has any real choice in. Lorne doesn’t want another Pathfinder as his last bond-mate died, but as they get to know each other, they decide to take a chance. It isn’t easy for either of them though, as they have the Agency and a crime syndicate looking for them.

I will give everyone fair warning Shai is 16 years old and to some of you that will be underage. There is also rape and dubious consent. But, being honest, it actually adds to the plot and storyline. It is all drawn together and makes an unfortunate kind of sense. No matter how you look at it, the baddies are desperate and only care for results. The characters are all good and you can see where the Agency is coming from, but it doesn’t mean you agree. And the Outriders seem to be the only ones who are still truly free and believe in free will.

I will recommend this to those who love futuristic, science fiction, escapes, chases, trying to make the right choices and having a slight hope of a true romance.

Blurb: The House of Silence is an elite male bordello catering to the obscenely rich. No matter how extreme or mundane the fantasy, the House of Silence is rumored to serve. Master Charon employs a group of versatile, beautiful young men–some lewd, some innocent, many with tragic pasts and hidden secrets of their own–who depend on him for safety. Review:  The House of Silence is a house located off the border and is by invitation only. Charon Marqui selects his workers, as well as his guest, very carefully. He has the best boys and the most prestigious clients. Everyone has a dark secret, be it the Boy, the guest, or Charon.

I felt his book started out a bit slow. It read more like an anthology or compilation of short stories. The first few chapters seemed a bit disconnected. Each one was very good and interesting, but I failed at that point to see it as a cohesive story. Then a bit past halfway, things got very intriguing. Once the plot came into view, the story unfolded fast and was quite intriguing. The boys seemed to be forming bonds as well as some of the houseguests. You would think a story of a bordello would have vulgar language and raunchy sex, but this one had none of that. The sex was so sensual and well phrased; it made me swoon and not cringe. By the time I got to the end, I was salivating for the next. I was glad I had it ready to go and didn’t have to wait.

I recommend this to anyone that likes Lords, rich business men, Cabals, dark fantasy, M/M erotica, sensual steamy sex, BDSM (not the soft and flowery kind), D/s, mystery, and intrigue- it’s all here, and more.
