Blurb: Betrayed and left for dead by his lover, North has retreated to a secluded island to nurture his coven of witches and their demon partners. His group uses the magic of starlight to bring as much peace to the world as they can. It’s enough. North has no desire to look for love again.

When an accident on a carpentry job reveals that he is a demon, Alan Holsen is sent to North for training. Alan possesses a rare healing ability—one he might be able to use to close the old wounds in North’s heart. While North teaches Alan magic, Alan teaches North to love again, and they both struggle with the leftover resonance of their haunted pasts.

Just when they dare to relax, North’s old enemy returns—and sets his sights on Alan. To save him, North must enlist the aid of neighboring covens, and he learns he isn’t as alone as he thought. But in the end, only North’s love for Alan and the power of the stars have any chance of saving them.

Review: This story is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone.

For the last two years North has lived on his small Island regrouping, building up his strength and nurturing his coven of witches and their demon partners, when he’s sent a new demon to begin his training he expects a ten year old child and an easy time… what he gets is a twenty one year old man who hits all his switches. Alan got the shock of his life when he fell from a roof and flew, the owner of the roof explains what Alan really is and Alan finds himself with a reluctant tutor.

This is a fantastic paranormal story that has witches and demons working together and falling in love. North fell in love once before, believing the demon, Gagnon, to be his but Gagnon used and abused him and left him for dead, now North doesn’t let anyone close. Taking Alan on has North confused something about the man calls to him but strange things start to happen starting with a necklace North lost two years before.

Now before we go any further let me say that I didn’t read the first book Another Healing so I don’t know if a full explanation of witches and demons was explained and although there is a brief explanation all I really got from it was the only difference between a witch and a demon, who are both human, is that witches have more talent and demons more power… so yeah no demons from hell or anything like that. Other than being a bit confused as to the whole demon thing I think book rocked!

North and Alan are great characters, they have a few confused moments between them before they find their feet with each other but then the really exciting stuff in the story begins. North’s past comes back and throws North for a loop, can he trust Alan’s appearance, the necklaces return and his bastard ex’s sudden pleas or is something more sinister going on.

This really is a fantastic story that keeps you reading from the first page, firstly because North comes across as a gruff, grumpy git (I was surprised he was only 26), you then get hooked with the magical appearance of a sea monster and a dragon, we become really invested in North and Alan as we learn both their stories and see them opening up to each other, and then we devour the pages as danger heads their way. This really was exceptionally well written.

I recommend this story to those readers who adore paranormal romances, who love characters who have seen the worst and come out stronger, who love magic, danger and finding love and a fantastic storyline that you don’t want to put down.

Blurb: Most people would consider near perfect recall, an ability to crunch numbers that rivals a computer’s, and an uncanny knack for predicting the stock market to be remarkable gifts.

But for Kyle, those abilities also curse him to recall every moment of his horrible, abusive past. Searching for an escape, he takes his therapist’s advice and leaves his finance job behind for a weeklong camping trip on a remote lake in Vermont. He’s not sure how a week in seclusion with nothing but his own thoughts for company will be the reprieve he needs.

Then he stumbles across a man engaged in a pagan ritual and is drawn into mysteries he never dreamed existed, and realizes nature is more distracting than he thought.

Review: Kyle has been hurt and abused a good part of his life, first by his family and then a former lover. Even with his incredible mind, he has issues left over from trauma he has suffered. On the advice of his shrink, Kyle has taken a vacation to a campground in Vermont. After his GPS sends in through the no longer used back way, Kyle comes across a naked man on a picnic table. After a flash of lighting, the man is gone. But a bound has already started.

This story packs a lot into a little package and I liked it. The author was able to get in the true hell Kyle’s life was a few sentences. I got a feel for Kyle right from the start. He is a wounded young man, who has managed to survive and make a living for himself even with the issues he has. The man he meets feels a need in Kyle and makes him happy and most of all feel safe.

I have never read this author before, but after this, I think I will be checking more of their work.

Blurb: He wakes nameless, without memory, and in chains. He expects death. Instead, he falls in love. Not once, but twice. The passion that binds the three men will not only change their lives, but also change the whole galaxy. That is, if they escape the webs they’re caught in.

Review: Jared awoke without memories of who he was or where he was, but his captor looked like a golden sight. Scared but also turned on from the things the captor did, Jared was led to a temple, chained to another prisoner, who had no memories. Their captor, who had no name, told them that the only way to fly their ship was with the essence of human’s.

The essence was in fact from orgasm’s that the humans have with each other. However this captor had ulterior motives, he wanted freedom. He knew that with the help of Admiral Jared and Commander Lore his people would be stopped. He knew that his death was coming, but what he didn’t know was Lore remembered everything after they were freed, and with his help, Jared would remember everything about the ship they were on also. He would remember what it felt like with Lore and their captor.

This book would have been really good if it had more details and a better story line to it. It needed to be a longer book or at least lead into a series. If it were turned into a series, then I would love to read it.

Review: Well, this one had me laughing at certain parts of the story. It is really a cute and loving story. I loved it even though it had me lost in certain sections but that is probably just me. James discovered that he could heal, although it does cost him. Every person that he heals he falls in love with whether they are male or female. And for a gay man to fall in love with a female kind of makes it a bit strange which means I laughed my ass off. I love how he comes off though, he is just gentle, caring, very loving not to mention sexy as hell.

One night though he comes across Ambient. He wants to love Ambient but he is afraid that it is just part of his healing aspect. Ambient was in a car accident and was dying. His neck broken he was slowly going to die. James heals him and falls in love with him. Which, considering his gifts, had him scared. However, he is surprised that Ambient is falling in love with him too. He is still afraid of his gift at healing. What happens when he heals the next person, does he fall in love, or is the curse gone?

When he heals another and realizes that it only intensifies his feelings for Ambient, he is amazed and happy. With James’s help, they are in search of how he got this gift and what it is truly for. You will fall in love with this story because it is just so full of heat and love that you will grin when you read it. It tells of a story that is heart breaking. With the fear of a gift, that could pull him in one direction. But, because of one man, he now uses it knowing that he will always have the man he loves.

Mushy sounding, I know, but it just comes across to me that away. I am not really sure if it is an adapt reading or not, but I really got into this story. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I think that M. Raiya has a gift for telling a story and bring characters that you will fall in love with. I was confused with some parts though, but like I said, it is probably me. You will need to get this book because it is amazing and you will fall in love with them.

I would recommend this book to everyone because you will love reading it.

Blurb: Forbidden love and the risk of execution dance together, a dangerous waltz of passion and terror. When the nightmare comes true for the ambassador, the king must use every bit of his cunning and wit or they will both face the sword.

The king and the ambassador first appeared in my last year’s Charity Sip, Slow Awakening.

Review: Part of the Charity Sip Blitz package.

Sequel to Slow Awakening, Final Awakening follows the King and the Ambassador in yet another adventure.

This time the King visits the kingdom of king Oban in order to find his lover and perhaps persuade him to follow him back to his own kingdom. His epiphany, that their relationship goes beyond mere lust and passion, has him in a state of eagerness. After all this could be the beginning of his happily ever after with the man who owns him body and soul.

However, the danger of their relationship doesn’t lie far from dark corners, and when the King finally reaches his destination, he understands all too well how true that is.

I love it when an author manages to spin such a tale in such a short story. The tension drawn from the danger the characters faced was well felt and from the very start of the story I got engaged and slightly trapped in its web.

What made a huge impression to me though was the fact that I finished the story and started writing this review before I realized that I have no idea what the characters are named. It’s just the King and the Ambassador, and I was going through the book once again in the slight chance I missed their damned names however impossible that seems. But there you have it, and it says a good deal about the enthralling way this tale is told.

Now there are elements of BDSM implied in the story, and the pair even engages in one such scene. However if you’re expecting a proper BDSM scene you might be disappointed because the way I saw it, it was lighter than light, and the author simply uses it to showcase the type of relationship and bond that exist between these two men.

Bottom end though, I loved it. I still want to know their names, because I feel a bit detached, and they are a bit faceless too, but I still loved it.

Blurb: Night of danger.

Night of choices.

Night when everything will change.

That is, if Varian and Josh survive the Night of Ceremony.

Varian and Josh first appeared in the novel Notice.

Product Link: http://www.torquerebooks.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=78_85&products_id=3861

Review: This book is part of the Notice series best read in order.

This is book four for Josh and Varian and their story keeps going after they are married. In this novella they are having not one, but two ceremonies.

The first ceremony is a big and formal one so that Varian’s clan will accept Jenny, their daughter as their own.

The second is a more private one and the consequences will affect only Varian, Josh and Huntington, Varian’s brother. Their decision to adopt and be fathers and family to Jenny means they need to be immortals as well. And Justin wanting to bond with them through blood could mean lots of thing. They will either survive the blood sharing or they will not be strong enough and lose their life.

But that is not the only danger in the future for them. First they must survive the first ceremony and that proves a bit challenging.

Well, I am a dragon lover for life, have been since a child, but truth is that this book didn’t hold much interest in me. Yes, the lore is somehow fascinating. Varian is a dragon clan leader and their diversity and powers are very cool, loved ‘em all. The fact that dragons aren’t born immortals is also a very enticing part of the story as well.

My issues were with the narration mostly. This book is told from Varian’s point of view, yet it felt too impersonal to me. As if Varian was detached from himself while living the story. The plot while it had many opportunities to arise emotions and tension failed to do so. It started as almost a boring tale and while it slowly built up the feeling that something is about to happen, it didn’t reach the goal of making your heart beat faster and get engrossed in the story when that “bad thing” did in fact happen. It was perhaps the fact that there was no space for the proper development, or there could be many reasons why it failed to grip me, but so it did.

For the second part of the story and therefore the second ceremony Varian was a bit more approachable, but still the enormity of what that meant was quite lost, too. It just happened so fast. as if the fact that three people turned immortals was an everyday issue, and right after that they jumped into doing the noble thing and that was quite the cliché that had me simply reading without ever falling in the story head first or feeling involved with it.

Bottom end, this was a nice book, with a nice story and if you’ve followed the series then you’ll probably love the turn of things. If not, then you probably should and give yourself some time with the characters to know them and get attached with them, while learning about this enticing world of dragons.
