Blurb: War never leaves a soldier behind.

Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin is still healing from his brief stint as a prisoner of war. While his physical wounds have mended, the emotional scars left behind are slow to disappear. Eager to prove his resilience in the face of lingering trauma, Alexei is determined to complete his first mission in three months and get back into the field—but he’s not forging ahead without his lover.

Nightmares will always linger.

Agent Sean Delaney’s recovery from trauma is more slow going than he would like, but he pushes through in order to return to active duty and not be left behind. But every decision he makes leaves him feeling like he’s gone two steps forward and one step back when it comes to Alexei. The guilt Sean feels from what they both endured still colors his interactions with the man he loves. Trying to overcome it is difficult and exhausting, making Sean question his place in Alexei’s heart.

Holding on is the hardest thing to do.

The ties between Alexei and Sean were frayed by the enemy’s hand. Mending what’s been broken between them will require a depth of honesty neither man is ready to face just yet. But if they don’t, they risk losing a future together neither wants to let go.

Out of the Ashes is a 28,000 word novella that follows directly after In the Blood in my Metahuman Files series and builds off of events in that book. It is recommended that you read In the Blood first before reading Out of the Ashes. There are explicit intimate scenes that are not suitable for readers under the age of 18 within the novella.

Review: Three months after being kidnapped Sean is still dealing with the trauma of what happened. He’s afraid to touch Alexei for fear of hurting him. For his part Alexei is patient in waiting Sean out. The day comes when both are ready for a new mission. The mission is not easy but they get what they went for and more.

I really love Sean and Alexei together. They went through so much at the hands of Cillian yet came out stronger. It was a bonus that Sean is now part of Alpha Team at Jamie’s request.

Fantastic addition to the series.

Blurb: Never let go.

Weighed down by scandal, Captain Jamie Callahan must choose between saving his family’s reputation and his father’s political aspirations, or taking down the enemy once and for all. Choosing one over the other will have lasting repercussions he can’t escape. Whatever path Jamie ultimately picks, Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan will be right by his side to face the consequences. Kyle knows in a situation like this the only way out is through. Together they can make it to the other side, but surviving that journey will take everything they have.

One last chance.

Agent Sean Delaney is learning what it means to be part of Alpha Team through trial by fire. He wouldn’t change it for the world, nor would he give up the life he’s building with Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin. But their time together is threatened by outside forces they can’t outrun. Having put the nightmare of Boston behind him, Alexei is focused on keeping his family safe, but he can’t have eyes on everyone. Alexei knows he can’t ignore the danger on the horizon, and when it strikes, he is unprepared for the tragedy it leaves in its wake.

Risking it all.

The odds are stacked ever higher against Alpha Team, and outmaneuvering a precog is a daunting, almost impossible task. Jamie knows something has to give, and when it does, it just might break him the way nothing else in his life ever could.

In the Requiem is a 122k word steamy gay sci-fi military romance with a mostly HEA and concludes this main plot-arc of the series. There is military violence within the story that might not be suitable for everyone, as well as explicit intimate scenes not suitable for readers under the age of 18. This is a direct sequel to In the Blood and Out of the Ashes. Reading the previous books in this series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

Review: The series has been building up to this ultimate showdown. Between meetings, government sessions, and trying to live their lives Jamie and his team will face the evil that they’ve been chasing all this time.

Battle lines are drawn and lines will be crossed as the team faces the ultimate sacrifice. I loved this book. The battle is fierce and deadly but the team never waivers from their goal even despite the being told to stay where they were.

My heart broke for the many lives lost and yet at the same time I was cheering the metahumans on. Kyle and Jamie truly suffered in this story and my heart wept for them. Amazing descriptions and edge of your seat scenes left me breathless.

Fantastic addition and highly recommended.

Blurb: Running out of time.

Captain Jamie Callahan is frustrated with his team constantly being at the mercy of the enemy in order to further the MDF’s goals. To make matters worse, his father’s political campaign is ramping up and Jamie’s every move is being watched by the media. He is acutely aware of all the eyes trained on him, his team, and Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan in particular. Meanwhile, Kyle would give anything to stay in the shadows, but he refuses to leave Jamie’s side, no matter the scrutiny. Staying out of the spotlight becomes impossible when their families are threatened and vital choices about their future together can no longer be ignored.

Desperate measures.

Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin and Agent Sean Delaney are enjoying their time together as a couple when Sean’s past catches up with him. As Alpha Team’s long-running mission gets derailed in the worst way possible, Alexei discovers the enemy is playing for keeps, and neither he nor Sean are in any position to beat the odds and win the game. As for Sean, he’s worried that even if they make it out alive, Alexei may never forgive him for giving into the enemy’s demands.

Stand your ground.

Manipulation is the name of the game, but Jamie is done playing by everybody else’s rules. So is the rest of Alpha Team, because if there’s one thing Jamie’s team knows? It’s that they’re a family—and you don’t mess with family unless you want to get hurt.

In the Blood is a 107k word steamy gay sci-fi military romance with a HFN ending that skirts HEA. There is military violence and on-page torture within the story that may not be suitable for everyone, so please read with caution. There are also explicit intimate scenes that are not suitable for readers under the age of 18. This is a direct sequel to In the Shadows and reading the previous books in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

Review: Jamie and his team are in dangerous positions in this action packed story. Alexei and Sean are kidnapped and tortured by one of the people they are trying to track down. Everything comes to a stunning climax and not everyone comes out unscathed.

Bonds will be tested, families torn apart and death around the corner as the group tries to continue their missions. It’s a dangerous game of cat and mouse with losing not an option. Grounds will be stood in the face of authority who would continue when retreat is the smarter option.

Jamie, Kyle Alexsei and Sean all play vital roles as well as Katie. New members of other teams are introduced as several agencies come together to rescue Alexsei and Sean as well as take out the person responsible for their torture. There are scenes that are stomach turnning as we witness what Alexsei and Sean are made to endure. My heart went out to both men.

I loved this book. Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Blurb: Take a chance.

Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin doesn’t trust easily, and he most certainly doesn’t trust spies. He’ll work with them if ordered to, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. Except Agent Sean Delaney is proving to be the exception to the rule. There’s something about Sean that gets under Alexei’s skin and won’t let go. Alexei would be lying if he said he wasn’t interested in what lay beneath the agent’s mask. When they’re assigned together for a mission, Alexei vows to keep Sean safe all while trying to coax the hot agent into his bed.

Hold onto hope.

Agent Sean Delaney has spent his entire adult life living a lie for his country. When the MDF tasks him with finding evidence of criminal wrong-doing against the owner of a private military company, Sean knows exactly how to play the game to get what he wants. He just doesn’t know how to handle Alexei’s advances, nor his own attraction to the younger soldier. Being a spy is lonely work, and Sean knows he should keep his distance, but saying no to Alexei is impossible from the moment they first kiss.

In a world of lies, the truth can be deadly.

When the mission takes a turn for the worse, the only thing left to do is run. In the wake of betrayal, and in the path of danger, can their fragile trust survive the battle?

Review: I absolutely loved this story about Alexei and Sean. We meet them in a previous book. In this story they team up on an undercover mission that goes wrong. The plans and subsequent revelations that take place throughout had me breathless.

These two men are very different from one another yet compliment the other. Their powers are mindblowing. Even though technically Sean is part of the CIA I suspect he will be added permanently to the team as he is good match for them.

Action packed and full of intense situations and some humor this story packs a punch. I truly felt like I was witnessing everything happening with all the amazing play by play details during the battle scenes. Best book in the series so far with amazing characters that added to the story. The only thing that irritated me was the lack of a glossary for the meaning of Russian words that were prevalent throughout the story. So I just guessed as to their meanings as I didn’t have time to look them up.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Blurb: Truth and lies.

Captain Jamie Callahan knows the Metahuman Defense Force frowns on fraternization. For once in his life, he’s breaking all the rules. Having Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan on his team and in his bed is worth the risk of being found out. When a mission comes down requiring Alpha Team to go undercover in order to infiltrate a criminal alliance, Jamie knows it won’t be easy. Putting his family’s name on the line is nothing compared to the role the MDF wants him to play—that of a billionaire’s son, discharged from the military, with a lover on his arm, looking to make his own shady business deals.

Dirty little secret.

Kyle knows the only way to be with Jamie is to hide their relationship from their superiors. Waking up to Jamie at home is more important than being together in public, or so Kyle thought, until he comes face to face with what he’s been missing. Pretending to be a couple on paper for the sake of the mission thrusts Kyle into a world of incredible wealth and a social status he’s not sure he belongs in, but he’ll do anything to stay by Jamie’s side.

Play the game to win.

Surrounded by the enemy, Jamie and Kyle need to trust each other now more than ever. Their covers—and the life they’re trying to build together—depend on it.

Review: Jamie and his team go undercover as he and Kyle grow closer. His character is his old self as Jamie Callahan a ruthless arrogant business man. The team along with other agencies hope to thwart a terrorist attack and find out who is running things.

Things do not go as planned and people end up getting hurt. There are new metahumans introduced by the other agencies. Jamie and his father are at odds as is the norm for them. I really liked that Jamie insisted that Kyle play his lover on the mission so they could have a chance at actually being together in public.

The only thing that irritated me about the story was that I was expecting a different character to be the MC. I hope to learn more about the other male characters on the team soon.

Fantastic story with tense moments as well as action.

Review: A new terror has emerged in the form of splice, a chemical that attacks humans on a cellular level and either changes them or kills them. The majority of humans exposed are killed but a small percentage survive with abilities. These individuals are called metahumans.

To counterattack terrorists using metahumans as weapons a task force is formed called MDF. These individuals are tasked with shutting down terrorist attacks as soon as possible with minimal damage to the public. The Captain of this group is Jamie. Metahumans can both be good and bad as with anything else and the stigma that goes with them runs deep.

Kyle is a metahuman along with his adopted brother. They both have kept their metahuman status a secret especially from the strike force unit they are part of. They are loaned out to MDF to help them with their case when things come to light making them part of the team permanently.

Jamie and Kyle meet at a bar before they know who the other is and have a wild night of passion. I loved this story. There are a lot of twists and turns as well as revelations that bring the story to a riveting climax. Needless to say there is a lot of edge of your seat action scenes that had me holding my breathe.

I am looking forward to reading more in this series. Fantastic read.

Review: The year is 2284 and Earth is a completely changed planet while many things stayed the same. Many parts of Earth are uninhabitable because of extremely high temperatures, water and coffee are luxuries, and humans and metahumans are fighting together against a common enemy: terrorists. Splice is a new chemical bomb developed by terrorists and used to wipe out large numbers of humans, only nobody could’ve anticipated some humans having a natural immunity to the drug, which caused parts of their DNA to be activated, resulting in superpowers. We now have telekinetics, super-healers, pyrotechnics, anti-gravity masters, super-strength, telepaths and teleporters and OH MY!

Prepare to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information thrown at you in the first few chapters, as well as the high number of characters, each with their own special role and super power. At the center of this new universe we have Kyle and Jaime, both of them strong men and unique characters. A one night stand that was supposed to serve as a stress reliever turns into an off-the-charts hot, intense, filthy and raw fuck session. Kyle and Jaime are made for each other and complement each other’s needs perfectly; if you’re expecting a sweet romance you’re going to be disappointed. Kyle and Jaime’s relationship is a power exchange in disguise. Kyle craves pain and loves to be used sexually, and Jaime doesn’t hold back at all! The sex is raw and filthy and animalistic, so don’t expect anything else.

I liked many things about this book, especially the plot and the story line because it was nothing short of fascinating. I loved that the women were treated no differently than the men and were just as important; you won’t find any damsels in distress in this story. I loved the sense of friendship and camaraderie between the characters, especially the family dynamics Kyle and Jaime each had with their own families. I liked the idea that metahumans were both good guys and bad guys, because super powers don’t equal integrity.

However there were a few plot holes and trains of thought that were abandoned or left unsolved along the way. At the end of the book, I’m not sure where the MDF stands in the fight against terrorists and what the situation with the vaccines against the effects of Splice is. My biggest problem however was with how incredibly LONG the fuckfest between Kyle and Jaime lasted. I felt all fucked out at the end of each and every scene; I get that being mutahumans gives Kyle and Jaime stamina, but the sex lasted 5-8 pages long EACH AND EVERY TIME!!!! I wanted to whimper in misery ‘please stop!’

Considering this is a new author to me and this is the beginning of a new series, I have to say I’m pretty impressed. I am curious how the rest of this series will play out.
