Blurb: In a world of devastation and slavery, two men must find the courage to overcome the pain of their pasts and fight for what they believe in–or fall, forever lost, to the ravages of war.

Biochemical war has devastated the landscape. Societies have fallen to territorial battles and new laws have arisen, of which leaders were made by blood and force, and slavery was condoned.

Markus is a man who has lost everything. Cold and precise, he rules his territory with an iron fist. Nothing could break through his barrier of control. Until he meets a boy who challenges his emotional restraint.

Corin, born from rape and forced to work as a pleasure slave, has suffered through pain and degradation for as long as he can remember. His will to live has been all but destroyed by the hatred and abuse of his parents. Yet, he survives on the love of his sisters and the hope for a better life.

That hope is nearly ended, however, when his parents sell him to Markus. Now in the hands of the most feared man in the territory, he must find a way back to his sisters. But that path is not so easily taken. Under Markus’ control, he learns that being a slave is not about losing oneself, and that having a Master to show him the seduction of submission might be something he’d been searching for all along.

As the seeds of love grow unexpectedly between them, a war brews on the horizon. Can Corin trust that Markus would do anything to keep him and his sisters safe, or will he deny that which his heart cries out for?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of BDSM, violence, slavery, sexual abuse, non-consensual sex, and gang rape.

Review: Corin has been abused all his life by his stepfather. One day while his stepfather is being beat for not paying money he owes his mother tells the men to take him to pay off the debt. From that moment on, he is the slave to the most feared man in the territory, Markus.

Markus is known for not tolerating insubordination from his men or slaves. Supposedly, he’s a cruel man. But the longer Corin is with him the more he sees that it’s not true. Markus has always protected those he felt were under his protection and Corin in most definitely in that category.

This book has intense scenes of abuse, non-consent sex, drama, and action. I found myself being angry on behalf of Corin at the way his stepfather treated him. It wasn’t his fault that his mother was gang-raped and he was the product of it. Yet, his mother and stepfather hated him and treated him in despicable ways until Markus took him away from all that. Markus and Corin both needed each other to help them get over the pain they went through in their pasts. The sex between Markus and Corin was hot at times, yet scary at others.

It was a good read.

Blurb: Damaged by the lies of those who should have protected him, Shayne must find the courage to surrender to the love of his mates.

Now, at age nineteen, the only person who can hold him together is his other mate, Collen. But Collen struggles with his own yearning to Master the troubled youth.

Chaos, brought back from the edge of oblivion by his brother, the God of Justice, wants nothing more than to reunite with his mates. A single act from his past, however, has all but made that impossible. Half-Gods that he gifted with magic millennia ago have discovered Shayne’s power and will stop at nothing to use Shayne in their bid to take revenge on the pantheon of Gods who would have killed them out of fear. Now, in order to keep Shayne alive, Chaos must earn the trust of his mates and battle the very sorcerers he enabled.

Will he succeed and show Shayne the true meaning of submission, or will his past rise up to destroy his only chance at love and forgiveness?

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. Shayne is pushing the boundaries trying to get his mate, Collen to react in the way that Shayne needs, to be the Dom to control him. But, nothing that Shayne does pushes Collen over the edge. Collen doesn’t trust himself to be the kind of mate that Shayne wants, so keeps him at arm’s-length. Collen’s past holds him back from even trying and it takes the guidance of his other mate to bring out the Dom in him. Chaos is keeping an eye on both of them from afar. knowing that if he goes to them, then he will bring danger to Shayne, and also knowing that Shayne still blames him for his mother’s, the Goddess of Night, actions. But, Chaos has to step up to the plate when he inadvertently exposes Shayne’s whereabouts. Now, he has to get his two mates to safety, while earning their love.

This is another great installment of Keepers of the Gods with its action, danger, and complicated love story. Shayne, Collen, and Chaos are great characters in this story and they all have their parts to play. Shayne is wanted by a group of half-Gods with magic, Sorcerers. They have plans to use his powers to destroy the Gods. Collen is the glue that will hold Shayne and Chaos together, but he will also be the cause of Shayne’s betrayal. Chaos is pulled in two directions. The oath he swore to the Sorcerers and the love he has for his mates. He has to protect Shayne, but he still has the driving need to see the Gods punished for their betrayal.

This isn’t a book for anyone who is faint of heart, and if you have already read any of Nikki McCoy’s Keepers of the Gods series then you know that she doesn’t pull her punches and this book is no different. There is personal conflict, relationship conflict and business conflict. It gets down and dirty in places and there is unwanted abuse inflicted. There’s hot steamy sex and some lovely BDSM. We also meet some great characters in Marc and Gianni, and we see their romance as well.

I will recommend this to those who love, BDSM, danger, love, forgiveness, hot sex, great characters, and a great ending. If you want your books dark and gritty, with violence and abuse, but with the hope of true love then don’t miss this installment of Keepers of the Gods.

Review: Quinn suffered for years at the hands of his father for being different, but now hiding out with his sister in America he has some semblance of peace. That is, until he spots a shifter who makes him feel things he shouldn’t. Manning wants revenge on the ones who killed his mother, but when he smells his mate all he can think about is finding and claiming him. When the two meet weeks later, Quinn has a secret that he can’t tell Manning and Manning thinks he knows what is for the best. Can the two sort out their problems so that they can save their races?

This is a shifter/vampire story that puts a different spin on the races and makes for an interesting storyline with a twist. Manning is a Ba’Kal (Shifter), in fact he is the ruler of them. he has many responsibilities and one of them is to mate and produce an heir, but he has other problems like finding his mother’s killers and the Vam’kir (vampires) who are targeting shifters. Manning puts everything on a backburner when he meets his mate, Quinn. Quinn though just wants to run, he knows he is different from his kinsmen Vam’kir and he can’t let Manning know that he is Vam’kir, as they are enemies, but he knows he isn’t safe whichever way he turns.

There is quite a bit to this storyline, as we have Quinn who is both Ba’Kal and Vam’kir. He has been punished severely by his father for years, his sister rescues him but even she doesn’t know the full truth. And now he has a mate and when Quinn finally learns the full truth of what he is, he has a whole load of new problems to face. Manning and Quinn do make a great couple, even with the problems they face, and Manning has a world of patience as he waits for Quinn to become comfortable with him.

I wish I could go into more detail about the ongoing struggle that Quinn and Manning are facing, but it is kinda complex with its explanations, and it would also give away the entire storyline. All I will tell you is that Manning and Quinn are great together and although they have problems with trust, they do come through it by the end. This storyline is really good and the story is really well written. we get to know the characters really well and although they do have their faults, which make you want to slap them at least once, they do crawl into your hearts.

So, if you love shifters and vampires, hot sex, gentle love, earned trust, complex plans from the goddess, a hard past, a happy ending and a superb twist then this is the story for you.

Blurb: Two men molded by the fierceness and pain of their lives form a bond that ignites their passion, but will their love be strong enough to endure the violence of their pasts?

Lucas Matthews has loyally served his race for over two centuries, forced to kill the criminals of his own kind. When his Commander decided to take their laws into his own hands and give Lucas the choice to join his select group of rebels or die, Lucas ran. He refused to bow down to the corruption of his commander and kill humans for profit. After four years of hiding and six years of well-earned peace, his life was once more turned upside down when a small wisp of a man captured his heart.

Kyle Jennings’ desperate need to find love and acceptance landed him under the cruel domination of a sadistic boyfriend for five years. When Lucas appeared to rescue him one day, like a fierce, protective hero, he found himself succumbing to the gentle yet firm hand of the Dom. Through guidance and care, he finally found the courage to regain his independence and willingly surrender his control to Lucas.

Together, they create a soul-bond forged in love, but they must fight to keep it. With the Commander once again on Lucas’ trail, they each find themselves with a decision to make. Will Lucas have to forfeit his freedom for the sake of his love’s happiness, or will Kyle choose to sacrifice his life for his Dom?

Warning: This book may contain some content that may offend i.e. Physical abuse, BDSM, forced submission etc. etc.

Review: Lucas is a Tsielen and a Mackaeo (Tsielen police) but fled the Mackaeo when some of them became corrupt and tried to make him kill humans.  Kyle is desperately unhappy as he is stuck in an abusive relationship that his brother allows as his ‘boyfriend’ gives his brother gifts and an easy life and now he sees no way out.

This is a great paranormal story that keeps you interested from the start. Lucas owns a wine store and Kyle is his employee.   We find out early on (by his behavior) that Kyle is being abused and Lucas offer’s him help if he ever needs it.  Lucas runs to the rescue when Kyle needs it and we see the start of a beautiful relationship. This is a great story as we don’t get dumped with information too soon or too much; it’s given to us more gradually and is spaced out well. The story line is rock solid and the relationship is believable and is paced out well.   The way that Lucas supports Kyle while he deals with his injuries and nightmares is great and not rushed and Lucas also has a great friend in Bastian who also supports Kyle when he needs it.

The BDSM between Lucas and Kyle is light as they work together to get Kyle past his fear but Kyle is determined as he has a submissive nature and he just wants to take care of his Master. The sex is hot and intense, and doesn’t happen too quickly between them, although their feelings develop quickly.

All in all I’d recommend this to those who love light BDSM, paranormal, alien superpowers, sweet protective love and a great story.

Review:   Master of Wrath continues five years after the events of Son of Death. Cyaan is on a crusade to find his mate Jace, who is a prisoner of Mikel. During one of his searches for clues to the Jace’s whereabouts, Cyaan finds Loken, his other mate. And together they combine forces to find the missing piece to complete the threesome.
First and most importantly Master of Wrath is the second book in a series in progress and it is essential that you read the first book; both to keep up with the plot and to know the characters.

Having said that, my review of the book.

Master of Wrath is an engaging story and managed to hold my attention from first page. The story flows well and the sex scenes are super hot.

At the beginning of history, Jace is traumatized by what was done to him by Mikel. But he is not broken. He has a strength that makes him an ideal partner for the two Doms which are his mates. And though their relationship is new, you can see that they are actually a ménage (and Loken and Cyaan work as a team to dominate Jace). Loken is lonely, but not by choice (his life is in danger if his existence is discovered). But, when he meets his mates, he knows just how valuable they are and so he makes a leap of faith.

Overall, Master of Wrath is an enjoyable read and a good addition to the series. And I look forward for the next book.
